I don't usually leave reviews if I've had a bad experience, but I felt it was necessary here. I've had 2 bad experiences here - both times where I explained that my face is sensitive and to not wax the same area more than once because I know for a fact it will get irritated. Both times they did exactly what I asked them NOT to do, I even talked to the owner about it and she explained that the techs did nothing wrong. 48 hours later I have a breakout JUST IN THE AREA where the wax was applied. I don't have any skin conditions and I'm not on any medication that would call for a reaction, just sensitive skin. When I was going to Andreias Brazilian Wax in north Druid Hills (ask for Selma) I never had this issue. I will be driving further distance for better results from here on out. On a very busy Saturday the only thing that could have been better is the ambience it could have been a bit more cozy comfy,like with a dimmer light maybe a candle or something? I have been going to see Maria at this location for my brow and lip wax for almost 2 years. I am giving a one star rating because I received false information about Maria leaving. The location was recently acquired by new management and Maria is no longer working at this location. I received a call letting me know that Maria was no longer working there. I've also seen Maria for service at the Decatur location so I asked if she was still with the company. I was told no. Later that day I called Decatur and found out Maria is INDEED still employed by Relax and Wax Decatur. That is very poor customer service. This was my 4th attempt at getting a Brazilian wax, but my first time ever coming to Relax & Wax. All 3x's were traumatizing experiences EXCEPT for this one! I have a very low pain tolerance so that doesn't help, but this was by far the best experience you can get with a Brazilian wax. Tracey put me at ease, was patient, quick, and though it still stung a bit, I have to say that it wasn't as bad as my previous experiences. I was so gung-ho about getting one before my vacation that I had put in my head I would grit my teeth and just take it. But it wasn't that bad and I owe it all to Tracey. I made an appointment for Saturday afternoon with Heather. The place inside is small with not much sitting room if it was crowded. After waiting for about 15 min my waxed came out to greet herself. She was very pleasant and made my waxing experience as painless as possible. I am giving her a 3/5 since I still have a lot of hairs after my Brazilian wax. She did mention some of my hairs were shorter than others, however my normal waxer normally leaves me hairless without any strains of hair at all. I made an appointment over the phone and when I show up the next day at my designated time, the owner says I didn't make one. Told me she would fit me in an hour and a half later, and I said okay. When she finally takes me in she proceeds to tell me I did have an appointment at my designated time and that she made a mistake and would give me 20% off. Fast forward at the cash register I am charged $54 dollars. I paid it since, I was in a rush and had things to do. It dawned on me after I got home that evening that a Brazilian is $35 and butt cheeks are $10, so the $54 dollars seemed hefty to me. I honestly think she included her tip in the total, which in my opinion is very unprofessional. A customer tips as they see fit. I was very understanding of her mistake, but her overcharging me drew the line. Save your money and go down the street to Divine Wax, that's where I'll be going from now on. read more

I have been waxed before at another salon, and it did not go well. So I decided to try sugaring instead. Made my appointment with Polly. When we got in the room to get started, she was very honest and said that for a bikini wax, my hair wasn't long enough for sugaring. She thought I would benefit more using wax this time around. Note the sugaring is more expensive, so she didn't try to up sale me at all. I decided to go for it even though my previous wax was so painful. I felt so comfortable (as much as you can, at least) during the process. It was not nearly as bad as what I had remembered. I will be going back, and will be referring my friends here. read more
