RUN EVERYONE!! I'm sad to report that after staying at this hotel religiously at least once a year for 5 years this last stay was very bad! I was thankful to have my bf with me who's a professional exterminator to discover the bedbugs in time for us to check everything and leave before everything we had got infested but not before her and I got bitten!! We discreetly contracted the owner to let him know what we found and they tried to move us to another room for us to find them in that room as well. So we told them we were sorry but we ever leaving and that they needed to please close those rooms and get them taken care of asap. The owner was very rude and standoffish and I know they just "cleaned" the rooms and reset them and rebooked them!! I'm so sorry for anyone who stays there after us!! Stay away all!!! Oh yeah leaking hot water from the tub is leading to condensation around the light so bad that it's dripping down on you when you sit on the toilet!!! read more

I stayed there last night. After checking with 2 other hotels and being turned away for havig cats, the first thing I asked was if they accepted cats. I was told yes. There is a sign behind the desk saying dogs only, so I repeated, I have 3 cats. Is that ok. Again I was told yes. This morning a very angry lady called me to yell at me for not declaring pets and charged me $25 which I will dispute with visa. If you bring pets, record yourself telling them. I'm so happy with this place! The bed is so clean and comfortable, the room is so well-appointed, everything is immaculate. They have a shampoo and body soap gel dispenser and water pressure, even blackout curtains. Nothing is wrong, everything works. It's very quiet. Where do i start! Thief and criminal owner. I felt the need to contact the police department for what I experienced and let's just say they weren't at all surprised and said it is like the motel 6 and they said this is a DO NOT GO hotel. he said that about relax inn and OYO both. The officer told me that he was not at all surprised and that the owner is also not pleasant to the police when they're called there either. Relax inn stole 121.23 from me. I was forced to leave due to the unsafe and unsanitary conditions of the room, as well as the aggressive, threatening unprofessional behavior of the front desk staff that caused me to have a panic attack. I booked a non-smoking room through expedia, but upon arrival, I encountered numerous issues that made the hotel completely unsuitable for me and my 10-year-old son. The hotel is situated directly across from a prison, and I witnessed drug activity in the parking lot. The area was unsafe for myself and my child. Inaccurate Room & False Advertising:Despite my reservation being for a non-smoking room, I was given a smoking room that reeked of unpleasant odors and made our eyes immediately burn. It was that bad. This was clearly not in line with what was promised during booking. Additionally, the hotel's website listed breakfast as included, but the front desk staff claimed there was no breakfast available. I was told I could pay more for a non-smoking room, but those were just as unsanitary and still it was an unsafe. Upon realizing the condition of the room, I immediately returned the room key and requested a refund. The front desk employee refused to provide a refund, despite no services being rendered and my inability to stay in the room. I also paid an additional $20 pet fee, but my pet never even entered the room, as I decided staying there was not an option. The threatening, and dismissive behavior of the staff caused me significant distress, leading to a panic attack and further emotional distress for me and my child. A $100 deposit was taken, which was thankfully returned. (I hear they usually find a way to steal that from people and i was shocked they returned it). Sounds like police frequent the property due to their criminal behavior and criminal behavior happening in parking lot. I had to pay for an entirely new hotel to ensure the safety and well-being of my son and myself, and the $121.23 for a hotel we did not stay at.The deceptive and criminal scamming practices by Relax Inn seem to be common. I have read similar complaints from other guests, indicating that this is a frequent issue at the property. I have a medical service dog and he was with us. They did not accept the letter and laughed at me, i paid the 20 pet fee which was stolen from me as well. These are criminal thieves that do this to everyone that walks through their door. read more

This place was adorable. The prices were great, and we had 3 dogs. The front desk assistant reassured me with a ground floor room and let me know my car was on the camera, (which made me feel a bit safer traveling in a strange area.) I stayed at the Relax Inn on my way to the San Juan Islands and was very impressed by the immaculate room, the comfortable king-size bed and nice linens. The price was great too! The beautiful flowers at the front of the building were what brought me there as I was heading to the Best Western down the street and I'm glad I stopped. My only complaint was that the cleaning products they'd used left a strong odor that made me sneeze. I think they allow pets and maybe there had been one in the room the night before....so they had to use a little more than normal. Despite that, I'd definitely stay there again! read more

We arrived after a long day and found this cute one story hotel with lovely hanging baskets everywhere. We figured it had to be clean since the owner took such care with the outside. The hotel is older but remodeled. The room was clean and the bathroom had a great shower. The room included a refrig and a microwave and cost us 95 dollars for a Friday night in July ( a little expensive but this was last minute). The room had a cute balcony with 2 chairs that overlooked a busy intersection. The managers were a lovely older couple and they take good care of the place. The bedding was decent. This hotel is worth a mention if you are looking in this area. It has a restaurant right next door that is decent, and it is cleaner than many. They also have a continental breakfast and free wireless. Not a bad deal in the long run -- oh, there is no pool, etc. read more

I rented a room from this place and got to the room to immediately complain about the smell of smoke, and asked for a room change. They wouldn't allow it.. After leaving this first review regarding that, the owner called me and literally threatened to find me and kill me. I reported him to the police. The cops let me know this guy actually has done that several times to people, and has accosted guests and they are aware and dealing with the situations. The fridge in my room was freezing all the food, and when I complained they replaced it within 2 hours with a new one that worked wonderfully. The hotel advertises "pet friendly" BUT they are ANYTHING BUT! First of all the owners seem to detest dogs despite saying they were pet friendly for $10/night. The owners NON Stop Harassed us from the moment we checked in about the dogs. The bathroom light burned out and they refused to change it because we had dogs, even though I said I would put them in the truck while he changed it. We showered in the dark for 1 entire night. Day two the female owner knocked on our door early in the morning asking for payment or checkout ... WE HAD ALREADY PAID. I told her this and she said, "You did? OK." And just left, no apology for waking us, no explanation as to why she thought we didn't pay? Very confusing!? There are a lot of "construction type" workers that stay here and night 2 there was a group of the workers congregating & drinking beer outside of my room when I returned from dinner. The owner was VERY ugly about my dog barking at the guys standing outside my room drinking BUT said NOTHING about the party going on outside my room. He said we were NEVER to leave the dogs in the room unattended again, we were across the street at Dennys, gone maybe 45 minutes! By the way we have traveled cross country with the dogs and NEVER received a complaint because we are responsible pet owners with well behaved pets. This occurred at 5PM, so its not like anyone was asleep. If the 8 burly guys standing in the walkway drinking, talking & laughing didn't bother anyone my dogs probably shouldn't have been a bother?! The rooms were clean & grounds were beautifully manicured but the maids NEVER replaced the toilet paper and every evening we had to go to the desk and ask for TP. (We stayed 4 nights) We asked for the maids to skip our room one morning so we could sleep in but requested a coffee packet for our in-room coffee maker and the female Owner said "No"!!! It wasn't included in the room cost ($90/night plus tax and $10 pet fee per night) I was shocked at the RUDE customer service we received ... I assume because of our dogs but thats only my guess?! Breakfast was cold cereal and toast period. The AC did not work well and we were hot every night, we slept without covers. The hotel is directly in front of Railroad tracks and the train comes thru approx 3 times each night and blows the whistle at the RR crossing by the hotel. If you are a light sleeper this will probably be an issue for you. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE BECAUSE OF THE TREATMENT WE RECEIVED BUT ESPECIALLY NOT PET OWNERS! If you don't like animals FINE ... Don't advertise as "PET FRIENDLY" and I (Nor My Pets) Will stay at your establishment?! It is clean, easy off / on I-5. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DIRTY ROOM Only get a star because zero is not an option!!!!! The room could be okay if it were clean. We found a mans dirty baseball cap under the chair that was scooted up to the table. It was clearly visible from across the room. You may want to bring a black light with you for this one. The parking lot was full due to 4-5 big box trucks housing dogs, each one taking up more than one parking spot which was a problem because my mom is currently physically impaired which limits the distance she can walk which she has a handicap placard for. When asking the front desk to ask one of the trucks to move out of the spot designated for our room the man at the front desk said he didn't want to make that person mad. We left for the day and all of the trucks were gone. We thought that we would not have the same problem tonight but unfortunately when we got back to Relax Inn the trucks were back and again taking up more than one parking spot each and with one of them being assigned to our room. Just as we did the night before we asked the man at the front desk if he could have them move over and only use one spot, that man said that there was nothing he could do about it and dismissed us as if was shooing away a fly. I am livid and this is wrong to treat someone who has a physical impairment with such disregard. We have stayed here before and will never again. read more

Needed a room at almost 11pm. Exited the freeway as we saw three hotels off of the exit. Looking at reviews we decided to try the Relax Inn first. Needed two beds as there were three of us. Their last room was a kind with a pullout sofa for $69. The man at the counter said our rooms are clean. Check it out and if you're not happy or it won't work for you I'll refund your money. We just needed a safe, comfortable room for the night. It was just that. It worked for what we needed. And it was clean. Nice jet tub in the bathroom though it didn't get used. Clean room. AC works. They allowed our 2 full size dogs with no problem. Single story with easy access right off the freeway. That's about all there is to report. My room looked nothing like the pictures posted on Yelp, there was no couch, coffee table or wood bed frame. The room is 3.56% better than your local Motel 6 but Motel 6 doesn't allow 2 full size dogs whether they are very well behaved or you pay more. So......since the family reunion is here every July, I might be back. I *think* that because I got a smoking room, I didn't get one of the remodeled rooms. Cheap basic accommodations but it has everything you need: clean and quiet room, comfortable bed, hot shower, all necessary amenities, restaurants nearby. The free continental breakfast is a little better than the usual fare at such economy hotels - there's a DIY waffle maker with prepared waffle mix. What really stood out for me was the hospitality of the owners. They are so friendly and nice! This segues into an embarrassing story of me trying to make waffles for breakfast. I had never made waffles before, but we had a big bike ride ahead of us that day and needed calories so I decided that it was the day to make waffles for the first time. Of course I completely botch it, not giving the waffle maker time to warm up and not spraying any cooking oil. The poor owner walks out to a waffle maker stuck closed and a helplessly confused costumer. I immediately apologize but she in turn apologizes to ME for not being there to help me! At a self-serve breakfast! So she proceeds to spend the next 15 minutes carefully prying the waffle maker open, scraping the slightly burnt pieces of waffle off, and making me a perfect new waffle, all the while chatting pleasantly. What a great person. Overall this place is a great value find! We went in May and it was already booked full for the STP (Seattle To Portland) ride in July. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. i called because my card was charged at this hotel. I called twice and was trying to politely diapute the charge because i have never even been to this location. The second time the operator cussed me out and called me a mother effer and a b**ch. I was shocked at how a hospitality worker would treat someone so rude. He told me to call booking.com and dispute the charge because thats who has my money. I called and they had no record of the reservation. I have a feeling that they may be scamming people. We stayed at this motel over the weekend and was very pleased. Nice double queen room with a frig and microwave. I definitely would stay again and will. Only reason I didn't give them a 5 was the air conditioning/heater unit was loud so we turned it off to sleep, the beds were a bit high and the pillows were to hard but the beds themselves were comfy. I'll just bring my own pillows in the future and a small foot stool. It had a coffee pot and ironing board in the room as well! read more

Hard for me to understand the plethora of one-Star reviews which seem to be all over the map in the realm of different negative experiences. I was a road warrior and have spent literally thousands of nights in motels ranging from top line Hyatt's to one where the door wouldn't close and the coat rack was a nail in the wall. This is a fine motel of its genre and half the price of a BW. The free breakfast is quite adequate. The manager, mentioned in several reviews, was businesslike and efficient. There was nothing wrong with the room, which had the now-expected coffee maker, great TV, microwave and fridge. I would certainly return in a heartbeat. read more

Very strange, called because we needed a place since we lost power in Olympia. They advertised pet friendly, for 7 dollars. Once we arrived and checked in then my husband went to walk the dog, small breed. He came back within minutes telling me to pack our things, we had been asked to leave because of dog?????? I had read on their website that pets are welcome. I arrived mid-afternoon my day of check in and was told they do not allow cats (I had two with me). Dogs, yes. Cats, no. A sign in their lobby also stated "Pets Welcome" however there was an added note that said "Dogs only". After asking what I was supposed to do when the website indicated pets are welcome I received a disgusted look and was told the cats could stay but I would have to pay a $10.00 per night, per cat fee. I was staying two nights. I was in no mood at that point to drive around an area I'm not familiar with hoping to find a motel with a vacancy (on a Friday) that would accept cats. I actually did not find the pet fee outrageous and gladly paid it. It was the attitude of the man at the front desk, plus the major error on their website. I plan to let them know that they need to update the website rather than to "surprise" a guest that has a cat. Update: I noticed on my bank account that my card was charged $30 dollars for the second cat (for two nights) when I was quoted $10 dollars per night. This is outrageous, and from what I have read on Yelp others have been overcharged. They simply seem to charge whatever they are in the mood to charge, and take advantage of their guests. Stayed in this motel a total of 4 hours. Got in around 11pm after bank fishing on the Cowlitz for steelhead, woke at 3 to fish the Cowlitz for Kings. Four hours may not seem like much time to evaluate this property and perhaps that's a fair assessment, however everything from the polite check-in by the proprietor to the comfortable beds and flat screen t.v. with HBO exudes quality and caring. Definitely staying here again this Friday for another great start to a great fishing adventure. read more

"When I arrived to check in to the Relax Inn the man at the front desk was really rude and super aggressive when speaking to me. I showed him my confirmation that the room was paid for and he started yelling at me saying that I was wrong and that whoever said the room was paid for were liars. So I let him know that I wasn't trying to dispute anything with him because he printed out a piece of paper (with a confirmation number on it) and continued to tell me that whoever im talking to is giving me the wrong information and shoving the paper in my face. It got to the point that I had to step outside to talk to my supervisor, Mathew, to get things figured out and as I go to step outside he yells whoever pays for the room has to be here in person with either cash or card. Then demanded the check in paper back that had my own personal information on it saying ive been here 35 years and you cannot take that paper because i dont want you coming back lying saying that you fell and sue me. I have done a lot of traveling, this hotel is very very very clean, beds are very comfortable. My friends and I have stayed there for some recent fishing trips and find the location very convenient, easy to find. Rates are reasonable, Wifi , HBO are included in the room price. The Relax Inn was great! Easy on and off the I-5 freeway, quite, clean and comfortable. It is a completely remodeled 1950's style motel with gorgeous flowers surrounding the buildings. The breakfast is continental without any frill, but it was all we needed. We found it a great stop over on our way to Vancouver, Wa. We recommend it! read more

Checked our daughter in the night before her wedding in near by Onalaska approx at midnight ish. The next day at the wedding I was horrified to hear that there was blood on some towels and the wall and mold in the bathroom. Went to complain when we checked out on 9/16 and no one was in the office as per the prior day we had to knock on the door. A lady of middle eastern heritage? Came out and I said what happened she instantly became rude and unapologetic was rambling with something about her franchise and she just came back from vacation. I will NOT EVER stay here again do not recommend. It was dirty and smelled awful. I will pay the little extra to stay at a Holiday Inn or bestwestern next time. We were hardly at the hotel being we spent most of our time at the wedding venue. We had a total of 3 rooms. Oh and a toilet paper hanger in the shower was interesting?
