Review #6. I am torn writing this review. I would have given them 5 stars, but didn't - see review. I wish I could give them 3 1/2 but I guess 4 will do. I was so grateful to hear Relax the Back store was giving away two memory foam pillows to Harvey victims (FEMA proof of course). However they tried to upsell me which was extremely awkward when you have lost just about EVERYTHING! I was given two memory foam pillows which are made in house. You can select how much of the material you want, which is wonderful! Everyone is different and need more support or less. The sales men were eager to help and were very thoughtful. HOWEVER, when Harvey floodies receive the pillow they are pushed to buy pillow covers, which the cheapest was $20! I was extremely disappointed that they would try to sell me this after I have been through such a tragedy and literally have nothing! How can a person be so bold, but on the flip side so kid to give two fantastic pillows to those in need? Okay so that being my rant - I took out some memory foam after I slept on the pillow for a few nights. I LOVE that I am able to add or take out as I desire!!! I would highly recommend these pillows! The store has beds, pillows, desk chairs, massage chairs, everything under the sun to help your back feel more comfortable during the day and night. Items are pricey, but who wants back pain? I suggest you go in a browse, even if just for fun! read more

I needed a new office chair, for one online (not from Relax the Back) but when I got it it was pretty cheap looking. I spend a lot of time in front of a computer so thought I would give Relax the Back a try. Salvador took care of me. Lots of options, I spent a lot more BUT the chair is worth it and will have it for a long time. read more

They have car cushions that make a huge difference on road trips. Many things that help you rest and relax.

Charles is an incredibly knowledgeable and caring salesman. And he doesn't stop with the sale. I purchased a very expensive desk chair from him and a week later he came to my apartment and perfectly and meticulously adjusted the chair. He also showed me how to adjust it if my needs changed. it is the best chair i have ever owned and provides comfort and relief to my back which has been fractured twice. I went to the store as a result of a sale postcard that was mailed to me. I asked if they had a mattress on sale and was told by the manager that the mattress that I wanted was on sale (it was a lightly used floor model) and was available in their warehouse. I spent at least 45 minutes in the store discussing and comparing mattresses and making this purchase. The manager said he knew the particular mattress I wanted was in stock, but in addition to that, he checked the computer to confirm it was in stock and entered the information into the computer. He told me twice that I could not cancel or return the mattress; that sales are final. I was charged $1,678 for the mattress set. We set up a delivery date for the following Monday. Several hours later, he called to tell me that in fact the mattress they sold to me had been sold to someone else. I said "well that's fine but you can just send me another one of the same kind". He said no, the sale price only applied to the one I bought. I reminded him that sales are final and that we had a contract, and that I had spent a long time in his store, he had checked inventory before selling to me, and had made clear that I was making a commitment with my purchase. He said no, sorry, I would have to pay full retail if I wanted the mattress I bought. I called their national office, and a manager of their customer service line told me my request was very reasonable and that she was very confident they could fix this problem and that I would be pleased with the outcome, and that she would get in touch with them and that I should be hearing from them the next day. The next day the store called to tell me they would give me a 25% discount on another mattress. I said no, all I want is what I purchased for the price I purchased it. He said "I'm sorry that we can't do business". I called the national office again and the manager there then said "look, we don't own that store, it's a franchise and we can't force them to do anything but I'll try again." Two days later, I haven't heard anything. The fact is that ANY national brand would absolutely honor the price a customer paid for something in the exact same factual situation. A sale is a contract. The item I bought is not discontinued; they have many more of these. Resolving this is extremely simple, but instead it's a big fight. This is the way a poor, unsuccessful, financially desperate company would act, and/or a company that has not the first clue about customer service or integrity. It reflects both on this store individually as well as the brand. I will be reporting this to the BBB and all other relevant authorities. I would highly recommend not doing business with this store, given the fact that they do not believe their promises need to be kept. It reflects on their business integrity as a whole. read more

Wow guys way to score rudest sales associate of 2012, no really, even in january you've earned it for the year........ I went into the Relax the Back Store near West U today looking for foam rollers and stretching equiptment for my clients and sadly had the rudest sales associate I've experienced in years.... I also noticed that every item in the store was very over priced and could be found online for half the price.... Yelp! You said it best with "Eeek, methinks NOT!!". :/ read more

We had a wonderful experience with Sal at the Kirby Relax the Back . We bought two tempur pedic matresses and while there mentioned that one of the recliners which we had gotten almost a year ago was not holding up and the seat was sagging. He immediately got in touch with the manufactures and I just received a call from them and they will be replacing it. read more

I bought two bonded leather recliners here ($800 each). I had decided bonded leather was ok since my daughter has a bonded leather sofa she's had for 5 years, with two kids, two dogs and no problems. And it was from Rooms To Go - not real high end! I should have realized they didn't care about quality at RTB when the chair were delivered and one of the foot stools was put together wrong. They told me to just take it apart myself and put it back together properly! Now three years down the road, one of the chairs has bits of leather that flake off every day, making a mess and looking terrible. I'll never purchase from them again!! I have no children living in the house and no pets. The chair is just falling apart on its own. read more

I love Relax the Back. My favorite Relax the back store was the one in the galleria but lately the workers at the Kirby location have stepped it up. Going to relax the back is like going to Sephora for your beauty products. Some of the products can be purchased somewhere else but the staff is well trained and very helpful. I love the store. Tiffany helped us so much when we came in. I read that she offered someone to sit in one of the massage chairs before they go and it made me laugh because she did that to us too which is pretty awesome. It isn't like they just want your money. They want you to enjoy your experience. read more

So far, I've only bought one thing from the store in one visit, so I can't say much yet. I've recently started having back problems which is concerning because I'm sitting for school. The gentleman gave me the best suggestion for a portable lumbar support and suggested me to take it out to my car to try it! He also had me try the other options in case I didn't want to go with the suggestion -- which I ended up buying like he said. He also gave suggestions to correct sitting posture and introduced to me about the idea of using a recliner chair to relieve the back pain. He also offered some time on the recliner at the end "Are you busy after this? Would you like to sit here for 20 minutes?" Very nice person! read more

the following is my experience 1. The sales person use about 10 minutes to sale the chair to us, but after over one month, I still can not enjoy a good chair. 2. the chair took 3 weeks to deliver to our house 3. the chair arrived with No warranty, Zero paper work at all. 4. When I made a trip to the store to "Learn" the 10 parts for adjustment, I got this poorly produced u tube video to learn to use it at home. 5. The chair in the video is different than the one I've purchased 6. Over 1 month after I paid for this chair, I still can not use it who is relaxing the back? Not customers read more
