I was gifted a 60-minute Classic Reflexology Foot Massage scheduled for a Saturday at 11am so I headed that way and arrived at 11am sharp. I was quickly greeted by the friendly lady working at the front desk and let her know of the Gift Certificate. She asked if I wanted to purchase any Add-Ons but I politely declined. I waited about 5 mins for the masseuse to prepare and once he was ready, he beckoned me in. I've had a couple of foot massages in the past so I knew what to expect. I was given a basket to place my shoes and belongings in and placed my feet in the warm water while Ale, the masseuse, put a warm towel across me. He worked on my upper body first for about 20-25 mins. He focused on the pressure points in my head and massaged my neck and back. He then started on my lower legs and feet for the remainder of the session. I did ask for "medium" pressure but there were times that I had to move my legs a bit to hint that the pressure was a bit too hard, almost painful even. Once Ale got the hint, he softened up a bit and I throughly enjoyed the rest of the foot massage. The soft music, warm towel and dim lights made for a relaxing ambiance and I definitely dozed off a bit lol. Wow.......that was relaxing!!!! From the second you walk in and you talk in hushed tones and the whole experience was relaxation at it's finest. Highly recommend checking out this place. I booked online which was very easy. I had 2 Groupons which were no problem to use for my sister and I. We were early but they took us right away. When you walk back into the room, it is immediate feeling of relaxation. The dimmed lights, the music....it's so peaceful. You sit in your chair and they have a basket to put your shoes in. NO CELL PHONES! Turn them down and put them away! They soak your feet and you get a massage while that is happening. I definitely was doing the head nod when I kept falling asleep. The foot massage...the hot stones. It was all wonderful. And when you are done and walk out they DO NOT ask about membership or anything!! I was so surprised but they do text you later. But I love that they do not ruin the vibe. It's pretty much a $1 a minute. They have 40, 60 and 90 minute sessions. But then they have the big kahuna which is 120 minutes for $120. I could have easily stayed for another hour! I decided to add the warm neck wrap for $4.99. They offer three delightful add-ons with absolutely no pressure to add any of them. This was my first visit. I'm glad I used it today because my feet were really bothering me. When I first walked in I was greeted and within a few minutes my chair was ready and I walked inside. I immediately felt a feeling of relaxation come over me. It was very dark but you can see, and serene with relaxing music. Eli was my Reflexologist. Very polite and kind and made sure I was comfortable. I had the 40 min session for feet and calves. In many instances I felt some of the pain leave my feet. Afterward I was offered a soothing cup of tea and a medley of nuts to enjoy. I think I will definitely come back here! Please come visit them as you will walk out feeling renewed. I wanted this to be great but as an experienced person with massages, reflexology and alternative medicine for over 25 years, I guess I was a bit let down. I understood this wasn't going to be a massage or anything on that level mainly focusing on reflexology (which is the hands, feet and head), I found the hands and head part was very mediocre. I even expressed to the front desk guy I was heading into a surgery the next day and wanted to relax and get some solid pressure overall but really was looking forward to a decent head massage. When we got going, the Therapist..(are they licensed)?...didn't speak English which I was fine with but he was very fast and frantic. I wasn't settled in as he threw on a hot blanket and got your feet into the warm water. With me trying to get settled down to relax, it was a little warm and had a little moisture on my forehead as I was trying to calm my system but it felt as if he didn't want to touch my head at all and had a hard time manuevering it. I am not a small guy but by any means a massive person that you can't manuever my head enough to get all around it. What I wanted the most was very short changed along with very generic with the hands. Again, I understood a majority of the session was for the feet but it was 6-10 minutes tops for the head and hands which I felt was poor time management. When he got to the feet, I felt that was ok however doing 40 minutes of a repetitive 4 movements over and over and over didn't have enough variety to short change the head and feet for that long. I can't deny it didn't feel good on the feet but was it worth 60 dollar and a tip? Knowing what I know, I won't be returning unless it was a free session someone bought for me. I am not one to make negative reviews and I am sure it is good for many other people however I felt the time management could have been better spread out or at least more detail on the head and hands with some communication before leaving you hanging and not connected as a whole. The place itself was ok. Dark behind the curtains with several chairs and lights that are dim with soft music playing. It did have some relaxation to it and not all a loss but for me, it was not good enough of an experience that I would return paying that much for something that didn't give me much relief. I love reflexology foot massages, and this place does not disappoint! Nice comfortable chairs, nice dark room, and a great selection of masseuse. They start with a foot soak while they massage your head, neck, and arms. Then they dry your feet, and they massage your feet and legs. It's glorious! They also ha e a hot stone massage on your legs and feet at the end. I bought an extra feature once, but it was just okay. Great place for a group. I usually take a friend. My husband and I came here for a last minute same day appointment for their 60 minute service. The front desk woman was really sweet and booked us for 6 pm. When we arrived the inside of the place was clean and smelled amazing. When we walked into the back it was behind black out curtains and it was a very immersive and relaxing experience (honestly to our surprise) seeing as it is in a casual store front. They specialize in Chinese reflexology and start with scalp, forehead, arms, hands, calves ankles and then use the majority of their time to work on your feet. While they do this you are in a super comfy recliner with pillows and they cover you with these large towels. I was so relaxed I actually went to sleep which I sad about because I missed some of it! Lol They end this with hot stones and it was perfect. My husband hates this kind of stuff but admitted that this felt great. They also unexpectedly gave us a discount for first time customers. This was such an unpleasant experience that I can't imagine the favorable reviews on here. That said I only went once and maybe the person rubbing my feet was just bad and it is not a reflection of the business, however, I would never return after this experience. My friend had a groupon. I went along. So for me it was a free 90 minute foot rub. If it weren't for me not wanting to upset my friend I'd have left after 10 minutes. It wasn't like a bad massage where you compare it to a good one and just feel it was underwhelming. This was just uncomfortable. I refuse to believe the person who was rubbing my feet has any type of training at all. It wasn't any kind of massage. There was no reflexology technique. This guy had one speed; fast.. so awkward as his hands continued to move at lighting speed for 90 minutes providing zero relaxation or enjoyment. Discomfort is all I can say. He must've hAve had calloused hands as any time he rubbed my shins I felt I was getting scratched. He spent way too long way too often doing this odd thing of sticking his finger rapidly between my toes. I've had plenty of foot massages. There is a time for that where you actually do something but my poor little toes were penetrated over and over at lightening speed for what seemed no purpose at all.... I've given foot rubs. I think I'm pretty good at it (I want to quote pulp fiction here but I won't).... this was just a terrible experience of my feet being touched very awkwardly and uncomfortably by someone who has no idea what they are doing. It. Was. Bad. Longest review I've ever written because I can't express in words how bad this was. I had an awesome Mother's Day weekend. I really was so happy that Saturday they were able to squeeze my mother and I in to get an awesome massage! I saw this place when I went to drop off items at Salvation Army. It was morning, I never noticed this shop was here and I went inside. I was first so skeptic because these people couldn't speak or understand English. They had to call someone to translate and speak in their behalf. I was somewhat turned off. So I left the store contemplating if I would take my mom here with me. I had booked somewhere else for a foot and back massage for noon. My mom lost track of time and we were unable to make our appointment. All the other places were fully booked. With Mother's Day weekend. So all the spas and massage parlors were booked. Luckily I had checked this place out early morning. I called and they were able to get me in immediately. I arrived. Then they seated me immediately into their chairs. My mom was so worried because she had never gone to this place. She normally goes to the Advanced fuller massage school or Massage Envy. She told them that she wasn't sure of a massage because she had just showered lol. She finally listened to me to stay and just relax. I wore skinny jeans; and because I couldn't roll it up they had gave me some loose fitting pants to borrow and wear during my massage session. We laid incline on the comfy chair and they had some ottoman to keep our feet elevated and relaxed. It was not like any other typical massage place I've been to. You would think you are only getting a foot massage but they massaged even the top of my head to my temples on face, my shoulders, my hands, arms and parts of my back. All I can say was that my hour session was amazing. The last 15 minutes of my foot massage was WoW! I loved the hot stone massaging at my foot and calves and the warm towel.. My mom was snoring away beside me. She told me she normally cannot sleep through massages cuz she gets ticklish and uncomfortable. Boy, was she wrong. She was so happy! I could tell on her face. I bought her a membership so we got the $20 deal for members and $30 for family members! I will definitely take my husband here to be a member so we can get our monthly massages here from now on! I opted for the foot reflexology massage and was pleasantly surprised when she started on my forehead and moved down to my arms while my feet were soaking. I've visited the General Booth location 3 times. I've been working out a lot and under a lot of stress. My neck and shoulders were so tight that I looked like I was constantly shrugging. I bought 2 reflexology Groupons at 2 different businesses, one of which was Relax the Feet. The other business was a sweet young lady who rented a room within another spa. She was good, but she did not include the head, shoulders or neck, where Relax the Feet did. When you enter the General Booth location you have the receptionist counter on the left, tea, water and snacks on the right, and a large theater style curtain drawn across the room with a "please be silent" sign in front of it. The receptionist asks you what kind of pressure you want, then when your reflexologist is ready for you, she pushes back a part of the curtain and walks you into a dark room with chairs on both sides of the room. You can't see the details of your surroundings or your reflexologists very well because it is very dark in the room. They have very soft and soothing music playing during your session. The receptionist relays your desired pressure to the reflexologists. For my 1st visit, I decided I wanted the 15-min chair massage after the 1-hr reflexology session. They start your session reclining in a plush recliner, cover your torso and arms with a towel, then start you off with a botanical foot soak. While your feet are soaking, they work on your scalp, your temples, your forehead, then your shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers. They remove the tub and start with your feet up to your calves. And they end with a hot stone rub on your legs and feet. Wow! Somehow, I wobbled over to the chair for my 15-min massage (my feet/legs were so relaxed I was a bit unsteady getting over to the chair). I asked for a firm massage on my shoulders and neck. Charles really dug into my muscles, it was just shy of being too painful, but I endured. When it was over, I felt the tension and tightness literally melt away. The whole experience was incredible. I felt like I was floating. I was so impressed, I immediately signed up for their Silver package. The receptionist explained and processed everything very efficiently. She explained that the prices did not include the gratuity and suggested a normal percentage but did not pressure me at all to give one. But when the reflexologists does his very best to make sure I'm happy with my session, I am more than happy to be as generous as I can. I've had Charles (who is no longer there), Mike and Lee. They now have Tom who I'll try next session. Of the 3 I've had, Charles was the strongest and had the hardest pressure. Mike gave a gentle massage with light pressure. Lee gave firm massages but not painful. I don't know what the other Relax the Feet locations are like, but the General Booth one is top-notch. Very surprising!!! Didn't know anything about this place, brought my 18 year old son and my 11 year old son with me. All 3 of us chose the foot massage. Amazing!!! They soak your feet first while you relax in the luxurious chairs and they start at your head and work their way down. I will absolutely go back and bring more people with me. I am not easily impressed but this was awesome. And....they also offer a membership. From the looks of it, once you have gone 3 times you have already paid for the membership. This place gives you a therapeutic massage for free. You can ask for more or less pressure and it's $25/hour regardless and ends with hot stone at no extra charge. This place is a hidden gem and my family/friends will be going here long term. This place is the only place that starts a timer when they start the massage and you actually get what you pay for. Other places like massage envy start late and end early sometimes. The only small issue is the language barrier. As others have stated, the massage starts with a face/scalp/arm massage, that I could have done without. It was mediocre, and I was there for a foot massage, not upper body. Anyhow, the guy started on my legs and feet, and did a decent job; I've had better, but this was adequate. He only used hot stones for the final minute or so...disappointing. The Groupon says a $60 value....I would never have paid $60 for a foot massage , but okay. Since the guy did a decent job, I tipped 12% off of the supposed $60 value. Adequate tip for an adequate job. As we walked up front, he ostensibly conveyed this to the woman at the front desk. She proceeded to show me the sign that says a suggested tip is $10 per person, per hour. "You must pay $10 tip," she protested. I laughed as I turned around and left. I would have commented on the meaning of the words "suggested" and the purpose of tipping, but I figured it wasn't worth my time. I gave this another shot because Tao Foot Spa was booked. I was pleasantly surprised! TJ did a wonderful job! I received a 60 minute foot massage this time. Quick tip: bring your eyebrow pencil, powder, etc. because the foot massage includes a scalp/facial massage. One swipe and my eyebrows were gone! Lol! I don't have the membership, but I would probably buy one in the future. It's $60 annually and reflexology massages are $25 (with membership) or $60 (without membership) for 60 minutes. $60 is $5 a month for 12 months. Even if you get one foot massage a month, that's only $30 for 60 minutes. Some places charge $35+ for an hour. I recommend TJ and Ling. FYI they offer 35% off for military for services longer than 30 minutes. read more

I visit my sister often who lives in Virginia beach. We use to go to Fuller Massage School for massage but the last two times we went it was extremely loud and the therapist are hit or miss. I'm updating this review. We've probably been at least 6 times and it's always been great. This last trip wasn't so great. The body massage was good but then I had a guy work on my feet and it was really uncomfortable. I had to tell him three times to take it easy. When I checked out I left 10.00 for the woman that did my body and 5.00 for the foot guy. The woman became upset pointing to a sign requesting a 10.00 tip. She didn't speak English but it was like she demanded and expected me to pay this. I don't want to feel like I have to tip anyone. I found this practice to be very upsetting and I probably won't return. I'm wondering if they do this because the membership discounts the massage and the staff works on tips. I think it's pretty messed up regardless. While getting a massage the woman leaves during to answer the phone. No one there speaks good English at all read more

I scheduled a session for me and my husband for our anniversary. I was pretty sure I'd enjoy it but I wasn't sure about my husband. When it was over, he said exactly what I was thinking, "That was the best thing ever!" Reflexology is different from just a massage. They hit pressure points and work out kinks you didn't realize you had. I'm not too keen about people going between my big and second toes but other than that, I enjoyed every second of it. I got the body massage. I have gone to several places but this one doesn't require an appointment unless they are super busy. It was an ok massage. I don't like that you are divided by curtains and can hear the other people. The person I had was very rough though I got him to not be so hard with the technique. I did not feel relaxed. I do think he got some of the knots out of my shoulder but it was just not relaxing in my opinion. I most likely will not be using them again. I used the Groupon for the 60-minute massage and reflexology. It was an amazing experience and I can't wait until they get a closer location. I went on a weekday (Tues.), booked my appt. for 2:30pm. It was nice to be the only one getting service. Everything was neat, clean, and very relaxing. I only wish I didn't have on a long sleeve shirt for the shoulder massage, a tank top would have been perfect. Even still, my massage was perfect. He really works out the tension. Then I sat in the chair for the reflexology. I will just say it was the most relaxing experience, better than any full body massage. It seemed to work wonders on my entire body.
