All of our fence posts are rotting and the fence is less than 7 years old - Reliable's response is to stick metal poles next to their posts to buy more time. Even the metal posts, which are ugly, cost an arm in the leg. Absolutely would not recommend this company - can't wait to replace our entire fence with someone who stands by their product and their workmanship. read more

They do not fix their mistakes. Owner wins, Customer loses. I have a large older Reliable fence and needed to replace some sections. I ordered 3 sections of a custom size and posts and got what I ordered. I then ordered the same thing again a few weeks later, even sent a copy of receipt and spoke to Office Manager a few times. Wrong size was delivered. My own installers figured out how to use them, but left me 3 feet short. I asked Reliable to give me a small piece to plug the gap. Owner said, "No, Industry Standard" sizes were sent. Office Manager said, sorry, they had some miscommunication on size I ordered since they had a new guy working in shop. However, Owner won't give it to you. Imagine if I couldn't figure out how to use the wrong pieces they sent? 100% their mistake, but they don't take responsibility. Business must be good, since Customer is never right. I bought a section at Home Depot for $59 and fixed the issue. read more

Poor customer service experience. I had Reliable Fence in Ashland out to my house to measure out a 20 ft section of cedar fencing needed on the left side of house to complete a fenced in backyard. I asked for the style and size to match what I already had installed on the right-hand size of the house. The quote came in quite a bit higher than the other 2 bids but I live in Ashland and like to do business with local companies. The sales person also seemed professional and was responsive so I went ahead. The lead time was a bit longer than I was expecting, about 4-5 weeks after deposit was received. But the real issue came to light during the install. A few hours into the job I came outside to check on their progress and noticed the 4ft fence I was expecting was about 1 ft taller than it was supposed to be. I asked the install team to stop while I called the salesperson to explain the issue. Not wanting to re-do the job, the salesperson pushed for me to have the team finish it up, suggesting it would take a while to reorder materials. My wife thought it would still look OK and with the install guys standing around waiting, I reluctantly agreed to have them proceed. Now a day later I know I made a mistake. My entire backyard is fenced in at 4ft except for this one 20ft section at 5ft. It just doesn't look right. I would not recommend doing business with this company. read more

They made a mistake on our install, making one side of the fence higher than the rest so it looks terrible and uneven now. They refused to fix it and even spoke with the owner of the company who called me childish and blamed me and my wife for not noticing while the installers where there. Avoid this branch of reliable fence at all costs. If they do they install right your ok but if anything goes wrong they will blame you and refuse to stand by their work. read more

They were quick to provide a quote $10.5k including installation for 180 6' tall fence with multiple doors. That was the quote. We asked that they leave 3 panels uninstalled as we were having yard work. They said no problem they would come back to complete the installation. Then they stiffed us for $580 for a reinstall. On top of that the fence is crooked and the doors not installed properly (not aligned). This quote and over payment is consistent with many reviews. read more

Great job by the team of Reliable Fence. In these times it's reassuring to know people are forthright with their pricing and time frames. We were told we had a small job and they'd fit us in within two weeks - and they did! The morning the crew was to arrive it was literally pouring buckets and was not going to let up until around 10:30-11. The manager called at least 20 minutes before the prescribed time and apologized for the weather! I said "no problem" and of course not his fault. He said they'd be there at 11 because the weather would have likely lifted. The crew arrived promptly at 11, were courteous and professional. They did a great job and for a fair price. I am not very happy with this company just yet. I recently purchased a vinyl picket fence (4ft) and have run into two issues: (1) They do not provide installation instructions and have failed to provide answers to something as simple as the distance (center to center) of the posts so that I can confirm that locations are ok (to avoid utilities) (2) I was surprised to learn that the fences come completely unassembled, meaning, every individual picket is loose and even the panel frame is unassembled. If I had known this, I would have just went to Home Depot or Lowes and picked up ready to go. On a positive note, everyone one I have worked with was extremely nice. My guess is that they are tailored more around the type of customer that hires them for everything. read more

In February 2019, we hired Reliable Fence to install a new section of chain-link fence, but also to walk our property and "dog-proof" our existing fence - in other words, to look for any gaps that a small dog could get under or through and fill them. Several areas were patched, but after the job was completed we noticed a large gap that we felt should have been addressed in the dog-proofing and emailed a photo of the spot to them, asking if they could stop by and patch it at their convenience. On 2/19/19, they agreed to return and do the work(their response said "when we are in the area, we will staple a piece of wire there, this is a slow period so we will get to it when we can", to which we responded "that's fine, come when convenient for you"). Two months later(4/11/19) we emailed to remind them that the work remained undone. No response. Emailed again(4/23/19), no response. Finally called them on 5/8/19, was told I would get a call back from the owner, Ray. No call back. I called a second time and was told by the bookkeeper that Ray was not willing to call me back, and, despite their written promise to address the issue(at most a 5 minute job) they would not. Do not use this company - Reliable Fence is not reliable! read more

A 20 foot section of my chain link fence was bent and/or destroyed by snow and plows this winter. I called several fence companies on the Northshore for estimates and prices were exorbitant. The chain link fence stock at Lowe's and Home Depot was less than desirable. A good friend of mine recommended Reliable Fence Metrowest which is close to my office. The sales staff at Reliable was extremely helpful and explained to me the difference between their chain link stock (square size, gauge, and material). I was pick up some black chain link fence stock on the spot at a price point that I was expecting. Once the new fencing was installed I could immediately tell the difference between the old fence chain and the one from Reliable. The Reliable product is far superior to the original fence that was installed by my builder and I think it will survive the the winter. Overall I was very pleased with my experience and will use Reliable again. read more

Should have read the reviews before hiring these guys. Topper fell off my fence in the first few months because it had only a single nail in it. Then the paint peeled off a few months later. At another property - Reliable did A neighbors fence. Drove across another neighbors yard (Front and Back Yard) to get there without permission and upset them. My side of fence is not straight and comes out and over on my property. Survey markers only a short distance from each other and very easy to see that the fence crosses over. The installers took the easy way out by going out and around tree roots. Made a call to company and was told they do that with the permission of the person with they have the contract with. Nice to know you can put a fence up on another persons property without asking the owner of that property. read more

Regarding Reliable Fence.....I've had an excellent experience with them. Got a straightforward quote, no hidden costs. The wait time for installation was a few weeks, but I was replacing a twenty year old rotten fence so was ok looking forward to the makeover. The workers who did the job were organized and although they had to disturb landscaping for the installation, everything was left as they found it afterwards. They were efficient and faster than I expected getting the job done. We chose the simplest, least expensive wood product because it fit our needs best. The fence is beautiful and compliments our property. When I had to deal with the company by phone they were professional, polite and kept promises. No problems with this job, and plenty good to say about Reliable Fence. read more

These guys installed a very expensive fencing at my home and when I asked for some cracked and broken pieces to be repaired, they spent the next 2 months saying "we'll be there later, tomorrow, next week next month" until Ray finally admitted he had no interest in repairs and was only doing "new fences." Very overpriced and obviously don't know anything about keeping customers happy. I had a new mailbox post installed (using the old mailbox) for around $360. Too much but I was desperate. It was installed too far from the road so I called back later and asked what it would cost to move it about ONE FOOT closer to the road. I was told it would be another $320!!! I told the guy it's only moving it 12 inches and he just said that's what the "price book" says for "mailbox post installation". He acted like he couldn't care less. Even for a recent customer. My experience was exactly the same as Al G. on 5/24/13. Shoddy and poor quality with green wood that had large splits and even a piece missing from flat rail. They essentially told me that Al Kebler would not even come out to look at it. Basically their message was "Go jump in a lake!". WE WILL DO NOTHING. read more

We have used Reliable Fence for both home and business and have had a great experience! Recently, I had to replace all the gates used at our Doggy daycare that we had installed 8 years ago because they were falling apart... the only gate left standing that did not need to be replaced was the one made at Reliable Fence! All the others from another fence place in Bellingham were a mess after 8 years. They have also been very accommodating and had a very quick turn around time for all of our home fence orders that we are installing on our property in sections. The staff is very helpful, and they will continue to be our go-to for all our fence work in the future. read more

My contractor purchased a custom fence from "Reliable"... The name does not represent their business commitment to clients. The quality is poor, (i.e. split sections) when received. We simply asked to provide replacements for the poorly constructed split spindles and we were told that they have no responsibility to replace product quality defects. If I could give them no stars, I would. I went with Reliable Fence even though they were more expensive because I figured they would provide a superior product and service. I spent $4792 on this fence. Two weeks ago I was exiting my gate and the steel (or metal) handle bent at almost a 45 degree angle. I went to bend it back and it snapped off in my hand. I had barely applied any pressure. The metal is approximately a quarter inch think (I think it's a little thicker). I called to see if they'd send somebody out to replace the piece. I spoke with Bill Kebler and he said that it could have happened if I slammed the gate behind me constantly. I assured him I don't slam the gate, but I usually close it with my hand. He then said I probably left it open during the hurricane and if it kept slamming open and shut in 50-60 mile an hour winds it could break. I spent hours securing my yard for the tropical storm and the gate was indeed shut for the entirety of the winds. He was very good at coming up with ways that a 140 pound woman could snap a thick piece of metal in half. He also said that no moving parts were under warranty, although the only thing I ever saw regarding warranty said the wood was not under warranty. The piece that broke does not move. It's completely immobile. Furthermore, it's completely absurd that a thick piece of metal such as this should break after five months (if ever). He did offer me the opportunity to drive to the store and purchase a new piece at full price. It was a very generous offer. I have to say that the fence looks beautiful, but this was a ridiculous situation since I live 10 minutes from the store. All they had to do was send out a guy (or girl) with a new piece and take the five minutes (or less) it would take to install the new piece. Now I have a complaint filed with the BBB. Don't bother with these guys. read more

I wish I had known about yelp a couple of years ago! The work done by this company is horrible! They partially fill the holes of each poles, they just fill the top section to make them appear full; luckily we received rain in the evening of the same day when they completed the work when I discovered that the water from the rain had sunk the cement filling to the bottom of the poles which left each poles needing at least 8 inches of cement left to fill! When I called to company to complain about the bad job done, they said that they would send someone the day after to solve the problem but no one showed. I had to purchase the material to complete the work these people were suppose to have done well. Aside from the bad work, they also left my driveway messy with dirt. The appraiser will make nice promises that his crew will clean up and do a good job, he's just another salesman. Such business is not deserving of its name! read more
