She suggested we have it looked at when we get home, so that they could secure it properly. We made an appointment to get in this morning at our local Honda dealer. They found NO abnormalities with the skid plate. The tire Barn used BOLTS to secure the part in place; then sent us on our way - with NO CHARGE! I was like, "Are you kidding me??!" Unfortunately, a sign on a counter is not the same as clearly communicating a fee to a customer before payment--especially on a large transaction. At no point during my interaction was this fee mentioned, and I only became aware of it after reviewing my receipt. That removes the customer's ability to make an informed payment choice. Also, this is not "standard practice for all businesses." Many either disclose fees upfront or build them into their pricing. The issue is not the fee itself, but the lack of direct transparency. That is why I chose not to return.Thanks. I was not informed of an additional fee for paying with a credit card. It was not disclosed at any point prior to payment. I only became aware of it after reviewing my receipt. Had this been communicated upfront, I would have used a different payment method. Transparency should be standard practice. For that reason, I will not patronize this business again.
