For example, they corrected a child because their legs weren't hanging off the tube exactly how they wanted, yet there were no posted policies explaining these rules. It would help if expectations were clearly displayed for guests. I also noticed some lifeguards using their cell phones while on duty, which didn't seem very professional. Overall, the park has potential, but the customer service and staff training, especially in how they communicate with families, could use significant improvement.

The bad news is that getting here was an absolute nightmare! Despite the fact that Taylor Made Pools failed to complete this contract, the owner recorded a lien against my property (demanding payment for the full contract balance, plus interest and his attorney's fees), the owner refused to remove the lien (even after it expired), and the owner has been gaslighting me since the contract dispute began. It took nearly a year to get through the entire process with the CSLB and for the investigator to refer the case to CSLB-sponsored arbitration. On 01/28/2025, we both presented our case and on 01/31/2025, I was awarded financial damages and Taylor Made Pools was ordered to remove the Mechanic's Lien. After completing the necessary repairs, I had to call for the pre-plaster inspection, hire a contractor to install the mini pebble, a contractor to program all of my equipment perform the 'startup' procedure, and another contractor to install the artificial turf. I also had to purchase the suction cleaner that was included in the contract, but not provided. Needless to say, this project was NOT completed for the agreed upon contract price.

When we showed up to Action, we met Bradley the owner of Action and BMB and we are SO HAPPY we did. Brad helped us drain our pool, scrub the walls and start fresh and now our weekly visits are done by Eric who is PHENOMENAL. A new heater would cost a few thousand dollars and most repairman say that the parts have been discontinued for this old heater. I was contacted by Joel and he assured me that he can use his resources to find the parts needed to fixed my old unit and have it done at the fraction of the price of a new heater. After talking with him, we knew that he was going to deliver a great product at a reasonable price and he sure didn't disappoint! Quality Custom does not sub contract any work. Everything is done in house so there is no waiting between the building phases for the pool. Jim is very involved in the entire process and his company sends out emails, almost daily telling you what to expect next, etc. in the building process. They started our pool April 3rd and we were filling it on June 26th, finishing ahead of schedule. Along with Jim, everyone on his team, including the workers are extremely nice and you can tell they love what they do. We had our pool guy come for the first time this past week and he told us that we have the Lamborghini of pool equipment (filters, pumps, etc.) He told us Jim does that because he doesn't have to spend more money on sub contractors for the pool so he gets top quality equipment. He also said he loves coming to a house that was done by Quality Custom because everything is so much easier for him from a maintenance perspective because the pool and equipment were put together so well. I chose to sign a contract based more on overall cost and familiarity with another company. Initially called to get a bid. Met in person and described what I was looking for. They delivered an excellent design that was was a more creative use of space than most other companies. Their overall design included lots of retaining walls and landscaping that was not included in the contest price but would have made for a lovely backyard oasis. They were timely in response to my initial communication and delivered the design earlier than promised. Ultimately, I decided on a company I'd done work with before but I know Aloha would have been a great company to select as well. 5-stars - I couldn't go there just based on contract price being a little higher than the competition and we ultimately got our dream pool for about $8000 less than what Aloha was charging. Again, I'm sure the value is there as they delivered at every interaction.

My learned lesson is to beware of builders that are too cheap or way over priced. Communication - Absolutely top notch!! He always had me plugged into the building phase. Whenever I had a question, he always replied In 10-15 minutes. Work - Also top notch!! From start to finish his crew did a great job. Any concerns that I had were immediately addressed. Suppliers - Although Aloha does have a preferred supplier, talk with Mark and let him know if you already have another supply company in mind. They worked with us and our preference. Payment - NO DOWN PAYMENT AT ALL!! Our first payment was only after the completion of phase 1 and with our approval. From what I came to understand, some companies ask for an upfront down payment, in reality this is to fund other projects and it's not going to your build.
