I used these guys again to move from the valley to downtown. The two guys were wonderful. Yeah they had some tattoos but who cares (in reference to another review). They were friendly, professional and they did an excellent job. The one guy is an excellent driver. Some how he managed to maneuver their big truck down a narrow road on the side of a mountain. They were quick and they were careful with my stuff. Nothing got broken. I highly recommend and I would use them again. But I sure hope I don't move again for a long time. The only negative thing is they're not cheap but I can't really ding them for that because everything in Juneau is expensive. Plus you get what you pay for. They're worth the price. ;). I had Reliable Transfer move kitchen appliances to another home. A refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave were moved without incident. Down 14 stairs, across the front yard and into their truck, not to mention it taking place in November when there was snow on the ground. The crew was great, but I am not sure if they are looking forward to when they need to return and move new kitchen appliances into the house. This time with even more snow on the ground. DO NOT USE RELIABLE TRANSFER. Top/Office Management disingenuous & rude. Very poor in-house & client communication. Their local agent tried to charge an extra $1.3K after we'd paid in full--owner did take care of this attempted filch-job. Household goods took 2 full weeks longer to arrive than Reliable's longest verbal estimates. 37 days--for only 1350 miles from Seattle! I can relate to others that experienced broken promises, lack of response & holding up goods for a week+ unnecessarily. Samoan & Mexican movers were hardworking & honest. The guys I had show up to unload my stuff from a container were great. Super helpful and nice. Didn't have any problems.

They sent 5 guys, one of which was just the driver. Of the 4 guys left, I watched as only 2 really did any work. I watched the other 2 literally carry a single 8x8 throw pillow and other single small items in. They damaged a $700 TV that is irreparable. They put a "floor" cabinet on the top shelf of the closet in one of the bedrooms. They stacked a large tote on top of a small box and repeated that process multiple times. I was encouraged to file a claim for the damaged TV so I did. I talked to Tanya several times on the phone and through email. The manager Roger was either out of town or just not in and he never returned any calls and no response to my claim. It has been 3 months and I just called over there and Tanya was of course "in a meeting" and Roger was of course not there. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. I was very kind in all of my interactions with all of the staff. I have recently become very frustrated by the lack of simple respect and courtesy of just communicating with me and giving me some kind of update rather than just flat out ignoring me. They are horrible. Also, I should have listened to the locals here in Juneau who advised against using Reliable Transfer and shared similar horror stories. read more

If you re considering a move to Juneau, and looking at options for how to get your stuff there. I'd recommend not using Reliable Transfer, or as I've begun to call them "un-Reliable Transfer". I chose. Prior to my move, I received all kinds of promises from the owner, Roger, and it was easy to get him on the phone. This was the reason I chose this option, even though it cost a little bit more then a self move would have. After I arrived in Juneau, and my stuff continued to not arrive, it became increasingly difficult to get him on the phone, and the people in his office were no help either. Along with being unhelpful, his staff has a tendency to be, for lack of a better term, bitchy. Of course, they also had my stuff in their hands, so what choice did I have but to suck it up and take it. In addition to my stuff being very late and no phone calls back from the owner; the quoted price (from the owner no less) was not honored and I had to pay $131 more. Granted, this isn't a lot, but it also would've gone along way with me if Reliable had chosen to just eat that amount, and give me a break. It also would've gone along way in my not giving them a bad review. $131 to them is nothing. To me its gas & groceries, after a very costly move. So yes, my stuff finally did arrive, and the young guys that moved it in for me were very polite. If I could rate them separately, I would give them 5 stars. I understood that it wasn't their fault that they work for a company lacking in customer service. Here is what I would recommend. Get a Penske truck and load your stuff onto a sea container in Seattle yourself. Its cheap. Call Alaska Marine Lines. I've spoken to them quite a bit. When it arrives in Juneau, rent a UHaul and unload it, or hire some guys to help you. Either way it'll be quicker & cheaper then using Reliable. read more

I thought their prices were quite reasonable compared to other movers I'd contacted, especially given their excellent service. A whole packing crew with neck tattoos? Really? I'll be surprised if any of our stuff actually makes it to our new home. We're it not a government move, I would have fired them on the spot. They start work 2 hours late and then take a two and a half hour lunches. Very unprofessional. Avoid at all costs. read more

They can delete my comment all they want, just goes to show you that they can't handle the truth and truly how pathetic this business is. This has been the worst service we have ever recieved from anything. Nothing but liars. After six weeks of not receiving our things they are having the receptionist screen calls. The owner and manager refuse to talk to us. We were never told we went over the budget and now they are saying we owe them 1400. I'll be damned if they get a dime of my hard earned money. I am out 1500 because of irreplaceable living beings I had to let go. After 4 weeks of boarding I had to let them go because I racked up 500 in boarding fees. Letting go of them was horrible. The were worth around 1000. And you know I racked up all these fees and pretty much threw away 1000 because I had to let them go and what do I have to show for it? Absolutely nothing! So then I'm told if we pay the 1400 we can file a claim that will probably be denied. This is not acceptable. I had to buy work clothes because only so many were packed. I was told 5 to 8 days for my car. Well 5 weeks later it finally came! Now if I don't recieve any resolve I will have to get a lawyer over all this. I hate to make bad situations worse but this is my breaking point. I suggest no one uses their services. It would be less of a hassle and quicker for you to ship your things yourself. And by the way we only moved from Juneau to Anchorage. It's been a week and a half since our things have been here i refuse to pay 1400 for their bull crap screw up! read more

Just completed second move out of Juneau with Reliable Transfer. Their workers went overboard packing for me and even carrying things out that I had to give away to others. Once in California the crates arrived and I was asked the most convenient date for delivery. Truck arrived at my house just as promised. Two men unloaded, unpacked, and arranged the new furniture in my house as I requested. I can't imagine anything they could have done better. read more

I have had an absolutely terrible experience with Reliable Transfer. They came and packed my things into a crate on August 13th, and I was assured they would make it to Seattle by September 8th. I was told I would be called when my crate arrived. The week of the 8th came and went, and I hadn't heard anything. We left at least 4 messages and never heard anything back. We did speak to a manager once, and she told me that my crate was shipped out right away, and that she would find out where it was and would call back. She never called back! When I finally got a hold of her again, she told me my crate actually had sat in Juneau for a week because they missed the barge!!! And no one informed me of this week long delay! She then told me that my things would be here by the 14th (which is the day I started school, and I had packed with the idea that I would have my things before school.) Here I am on the 15th of September and have not gotten a call, and no one can tell me where my crate is. On top of all this, the manager's excuse was that their office was moving. You are a MOVING COMPANY. Why on Earth should I have you move me to a different state when your business can't handle moving across town?! I'm livid. Terrible company, full of liars and disrespectful employees. I had my shipment picked up on September 24th to be shipped from juneau to anchorage. I waited about a week until I contacted them regarding my items. They told me they did not know where my shipment was but it was on the way. A week later I was told that it was stuck at the warehouse in haines. I contacted the company that reliable had subcontracted and they told me that although yes my shipment was in haines, they had not even recieved it until the 13th of October. That means that they held onto it for two weeks before even moving it. It is now week five and they are not returning my calls and I am without my household goods. This has cost me over $1,000 in other expenditures because I do not have my items. This company is terrible! (They kept pointing the finger at the other companies they subcontracted and refused to even act like they were sorry it was taking so long.) read more

We got our stuff today 6/16/11 . There is not a piece of furniture that is not damaged . The couch has a hole busted through the back . The computer desk is broke along with the kids beds . These people are a joke . Hind sight being 20/20 I would have loaded our stuff on a con ex and had it barged to Anchorage. I will be looking to get a refund . CHOOSE A DIFFERENT MOVING COMPANY! I needed my stuff moved to Eugene OR and told the manager, Amy, I needed it in Eugene by the 16th of June and she picked the date to pack up my stuff so that it would get to Eugene on my desired date. I was told the movers would be at my house in Juneau on June 6th between 8 and 8:30AM for a pick up only move (I had done all of the packing myself). The movers did not show up until 9 AM. The movers were incredibly slow and took many lengthy breaks. They didn't finish packing up my stuff until around 12:30. It was ridiculous, me and some friends could have packed the stuff into the crates in and hour. That night I left on the ferry to drive my car down south (Reliable knew I was leaving that night). In the afternoon on June 8th I got a phone call asking for me to arrange a payment so my stuff could be shipped out. I was under the impression I would be paying when my stuff arrived. Now i was on a ferry with no way of paying my bill so my stuff could ship out. I was pissed! I had my father go pay my bill. I just found out today that my stuff won't even get to Seattle until the 20th, 5 days after I need it. It won't get to me until around the 24th. 9 days after Reliable promised me my stuff would get to my place in Eugene. I am beyond pissed! DO NOT TRUST RELIABLE WITH YOUR BELONGINGS! They are also horrible about calling you back, they say they will go look something up for you and call you right back and never do. I am working on getting some of my money back.
