Places in Bucktown never disappoint! Remedy is such a funky place w their bar top games and tarot readers walking around for a reading. Loved their espresso martini!

Walked into this bar on a whim on Easter Sunday. It was empty when we walked in but more people walked in within minutes. We got 2 Tito's and cranberry and took a seat at the bar. There are a couple of video games you can play at the bar and board games near the fireplace. It was nice.

I found Remedy on Yelp while looking for some happy hour options in the area. I haven't seen a happy hour as great as theirs since circa 2012! They offer half off drinks, Monday through Friday, 4-7 pm. They also have other drink specials on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Sundays. Nate and I sat at the bar and played some Mario, which was super fun. They also had an Xbox maybe? We just had a couple of drinks as we were on our way to dinner - I got El Diablo (Olmeca Altos Plata tequila, creme de casis, lime, ginger beer) and Nate got their version of a Manhattan. The drinks were tasty and even better that they were half off! The fish tank behind the bar was so soothing to look at and we had fun spotting cute fish. I also loved all the plants in the space. I would definitely come back for another happy hour if I'm in the area again!

My friends and I have been trying out new bars/restaurants for happy hour every week and this week we decided to try Remedy. They have a great happy hour which includes half priced drinks and their happy hour goes until 7pm which is what sold this spot to us as our work days sometimes go pretty late. The bar is small but not cluttered and gets plenty of natural light. We noticed that they also had scrapbook materials at the end of the bar for people to create their own art work and post/submit for some contest (which we thought was a cute touch). We all really enjoyed our drinks and if we didn't get there so late, we would've probably ordered another round. The only downside was that the staff was not necessarily the friendliest. As I went up to order a drink, the bartender didn't even say hi but immediately cut me off and asked for my ID. I understand the need to card but it would've been nice to at least say hi back before asking for my ID. The last interaction was also a little strange (to me at least), when paying they wouldn't let me hold the handheld device to enter the tip amount/ text a receipt to myself. I'm partially blind and given that the bartender was behind the bar, I couldn't see the numbers on the handheld device. When I asked if I can hold it so I can see, the device was snagged away and told no.

Awesome weekday happy hour where everything is half price.. and it lasts until 7! Staff were chill when we went (albeit on the earlier side). Beer selection was great. Would return!

I love love love Remedy. The ambiance is really nice, dark vibes with real candles at the tables that just give it that extra cozy feel. There's a big fish tank behind the bar, a skylight, real plants hanging from the ceiling, generally good music, and sometimes random bits and bobs laying around for entertainment. For example, coloring sheets and markers, etc. There's some video games at the bar as well. I love their cocktails! They're delicious, strong, and ~fancy~ looking. They rotate the special cocktails they offer periodically. The bartenders are all chill and professional. By the way... one of the reasons why Remedy is my favorite bar in Chicago, beyond the ambiance, music, vibes, and drinks, is that in my opinion, they have the BEST happy hour deal. The happy hour goes from 4PM-7PM, unlike some places where the happy hour is barely an hour or starts and ends so early that you'd have to be leaving work early to make it, and is quite generous (1/2 off all drinks). The cocktails are pretty reasonably priced in the first place so during happy hour you can get cocktails for $6-$8 and beers for $4. The only negative thing I have to say is that their online menu doesn't load right for me. There's physical menus available though!

Mortal Kombat at the bar! I highly recommend bringing your friends for a drink before going out. Not only do they have a great happy hour deal (until 7pm!), but they're open very late. Note that people were dressed nicely which really made the ambience stand out. Will be back! -AT

If I could give more than five stars, I would--because Steve at Remedy deserves every single one and then some. I've been coming to this bar on and off for over a decade, and from the very first time I returned after a long hiatus, Steve made me feel like I never left. He's not just a bartender or bar manager--he's truly the heart and soul of Remedy. What makes Steve so incredible is that he genuinely sees people. He remembers you, your favorite drinks, your mood, and somehow always creates the perfect cocktail to match the vibe of your evening. He's endlessly creative, always coming up with new spins on classic spirits or something totally original that fits exactly what you didn't even know you needed. Beyond his talent behind the bar, Steve is an extraordinary manager. He keeps the place running smoothly and calmly no matter how busy it gets. You can tell the staff respect and love working with him--there's a harmony and warmth here that's rare to find in any bar, and that energy starts with him. He's kind, friendly, and always goes out of his way to make sure everyone is taken care of. Remedy is one of my favorite places to unwind, and a huge part of that is because of Steve. I truly can't imagine coming here without him. He's a ray of sunshine, a master of his craft, and one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back. If you're lucky enough to sit at his bar, you'll know exactly what I mean. It just doesn't get much better.

What a vibe. Not only does Remedy have unique and tasty drinks, it also has some efficient and chill bartenders spreading good energy :) the bartenders were attentive in checking in (but not too attentive--just enough), and they were so quick to serve the cocktails and beer! They were speedy yet relaxed and did not make us feel rushed to order whenever they came around. Also loved that one of them was vibing and dancing to the music while shaking cocktails. I ordered the Al Pastor cocktail which has whiskey, elote liqueur, pineapple juice, and lime. It was very tasty! I also got the Dutch bag summer brew, which was a strawberry gose. It was refreshing and lightly sweet and tart. Water is self-serve at both ends of the bar which was very convenient! The price for special house cocktails here was great--on average $13! The crowd was also a fun and chill crowd. When we arrived at around 8:30 on a Saturday, there were a couple groups but plenty of bar and table seating. By the time we left around 10pm, the space was poppin with people and standing room only. Definitely recommend getting there at least by 9pm to snag a seat on a Saturday night! Overall the ambience was really nice, with the hanging plants, moody lights, and glowing fish tank with a beer bottle in it! Loved that they take pride in their fish tank such that it made it into their coaster! Also bathrooms were clean and even provide free tampons in the women's restroom :) always love that touch. Will definitely be back in the future!! Thanks for an awesome experience!

Half priced happy hour. Need I say more? Dive bar with a classy vibe and a huge fish tank that would be pretty trippy depending on how much you've consumed haha. Service was friendly and can't beat the HH prices!

I've gone twice, so this review is about two separate experiences. First visit was in NYE. I wanted to get my last drink in before dry January! We made it just before their NYE party started so it was pretty empty and chill. The bar tenders were great and really cool. They made an off menu drink for my friend while I had the passionably late cocktail. The drinks are great a decently priced. I wish I knew about their NYE party, but good to know for next year. Second visit was during dry January. On a Friday night, it was pretty lit in there! We grabbed a seat at the bar and thankfully they had non alcoholic options! I went with a cbd infused tea and it was pretty decent.

    Jazz S.

Really nice ambiance, funnily named but delicious drinks that were reasonably priced, board games for play, and plenty of street parking - what more could you want from a bar? The cherry on top is that it's open super late and the tamale guy came by! What a great night at Remedy. I'd recommend coming a little late so that it's not overcrowded. But I'll be back for their Happy Hour!!

I ordered the horchata 2 ways cocktail which was $12 for haply hour and is typically $16. $12 is the highest amount for a happy hour cocktail that I have ever paid and I dont think it was worth it. The 1st sip was good but it was a very sweet drink and I was over it by the end. The drink also was half a very heavy cream so when you drank it you were drinking the liquid but not getting much of the cream. So you either had to lick the cream off the top or drink on the liquid and then either leave the cream or somehow scoop it out with your tongue so not really a well conceived cocktail. One of the fun and unique things about the bar is they bring out free tapas every once in a while similar to bars in Spain. They brought out edamame to the people at the bar right around 5pm and a group next to me asked at around 530pm if more tapas would come out and the bar person said the come out every 45 mins. I was there til around 630pm and another round of tapas never came out so do not expect that if you go. They did not give you water unless you specific ask for it which I though was odd, I heard 3 groups besides myself at the bar who had to ask for water, especially since this is supposed to be a nice cocktail bar and this is just one of my pet peeves but the water did not contain ice and was closer to room temperature which is not how I enjoy my water. Despite not being super crowded I had to ask for the check from 2 different people and it took 15 mins for them to bring it so if it is crowded I expect they will have pretty slow service. They do bring you a fortune cookie woth your check where you can potentially win a discount on your check or other prizes which is fun. Unfortunately the fortune cookie tastes a bit stale. I would say that this place is not worth it for happy hour but it had a cool but very dark vibe in there so it might be good for a romantic date depending on how good the food is.
