Out of every treatment option under the sun, massage therapy is the most useful. No drugs, PT or surgery even come close toward relief and recovery after over six years of dealing with my conditions. Sadly most insurance doesn't cover massage or has very limited visits per year so it gets expensive fast, even though my doctors would prescribe it perpetually for the medical benefits if I requested it. My latest visit at Tanasbourne in late April of 2024 was 90 minutes with Kat, she did a fantastic job, dug in deep with hard pressure as I prefer, light massage does nothing for severe neuropathy and preventing debilitating muscle cramping. Deep tissue is the way to go, on scale of 4-5 with 5 being hard pressure pain in a good way, she put in a solid 3-4. PROS: - Have always had great DEEP TISSUE massages every visit by a man or woman, therapists have been well qualified. - Every visit the massage therapist listened and focused on the areas requested (after years of severe neuropathy I know where to focus). - ALWAYS feel better after a deep, and sometimes painful massage, the kind where it hurts so good. - All professional, no feeling of being uncomfortable or pressured to tip. - Clean and modern facilities. - Mellow typical massage music. - Tables that raise and lower and are heated. - Can usually accommodate a quick same day schedule. - Most locations are easily accessible and disabled friendly. CONS: - No direct billing to insurance (some locations used to do this, but stopped), but can provide you with an invoice. - Does not provide a hot moist towel at end like many places do to wipe off any lingering lotion or oil, even though they have them and sometimes use them during your massage. Even less fancy places provide a dry towel. Nothing here, I guess you could use the massage table sheets. - Massage oil or lotion had a slight scent, nothing unpleasant or too strong, but noticeable. - Encourages tipping, even for medical massage (which shouldn't be required). ... While I don't mind tipping a little for Medical Massage, it is often deemed as necessary by medical professionals, just like Physical Therapy. Some massage therapist charge a higher rate for 'Medical Massage' and therefore make note that gratuity is not necessary as it's basically included in the rate. The benefits towards positive health with massage is far greater than the world, insurance or science might document, sort of like chiropractors, even though many insurance are starting to accept them now as legitimate practice. I mean, we don't tip chiropractors, PT, primary care doctors or surgeons?!? Some chiropractors have onsite massage, but my luck with finding a good deep tissue massage therapist through a chiropractor has yet to happen, probably because it's a lot of work and requires a lot of strength and stamina to dig in deep. Solution -- establishments need to pay their massage therapist a far better base rate, then tipping wouldn't be even be a question. My guess is that most chiropractors and massage studios don't pay their therapist a higher rate for 'Medical Massage' grade therapy, when they should ... The industry needs to change their mindset. SUMMARY: Elements seems to hire qualified massage therapists, no complaints there. Rates are on the higher side. Biggest downside is on the corporation as a whole being too lazy and cheap to bill insurance directly and not paying extra to their therapist for Medical Massage, and of course no towels for cleaning yourself up before exiting.

The esthetician appeared to be experienced, but had bossy and almost condescending attitude. It was weird and uncomfortable. And so was the facial. IMHO the difference between facial massage and rubbing someone's cheeks in a hurry is not only in length of the procedure, not only in what areas of the face were worked on. There should be an intent to relax the face, full hand contact and massage to tone the muscles, maybe extractions, or hydration, a mask to address unique needs of person's skin. RARE but very good estheticians used to massage decolte and hands as a part of facial as well. But this one was weird. She cleaned my face in a hurry, rubbed my cheeks and neck, and then dumped something on my face and spread it on with a brush. That potion was left on my face for few min and was wiped off with a wet towel IN A HURRY as if she did not want to touch my face!!!! That was it !!! I was offered to purchase some other services later, and that was the end of my facial!!! I'd say 15 min start to finish. I've never ever had a facial this unpleasant, tensing up, short, minimalistic and costly. It was a waste of my time and money.

CRITICAL WARNING: Harmful Practice & Serious Privacy Violation I am revising my review to address the owner's public response, which involved a serious breach of privacy and confidentiality. 1. The Hypnotherapy Session During my session, the hypnotherapist used a suggestive and leading instruction under hypnosis, directing me to explore my identity by asking me to "see whether I was a girl or a boy" when she knew I was seeking self-discovery regarding my identity. In my personal opinion, this specific instruction is concerning. In my opinion, this approach promotes a strictly binary framework for identity and is inconsistent with non-affirming, conversion-oriented practices widely discouraged by ethical medical and mental health organizations. An ethical provider should, in my view, promote self-discovery and acceptance, not imply a client's identity is rooted in a binary past. 2. Breach of Confidentiality and Safety Concerns I initially posted a less-anonymous review. Following this, an unauthorized third party--the hypnotherapist's ex-husband--contacted me via text message to pressure me to take the review down. For my safety, I subsequently posted a more vague/anonymous review. Despite my anonymity and the clear requirement to protect client confidentiality, on Google reviews, the owner then posted a public response referencing specific details from our session. In my view, this action constituted a clear and significant breach of professional trust and confidentiality. Furthermore, the owner's public attempt to pivot and discuss a "full spectrum" directly contradicted the strictly binary nature of the questioning they used on me during the session, and in their response to the review- referencing 'whether I was male or female'. 3. Pattern of Misconduct The coercion from the unauthorized third party further raises serious ethical concerns, as it suggests the hypnotherapist shared details of our session and/or the review with her ex-husband, a clear breach of client confidentiality. The combination of the psychologically questionable questioning and the subsequent privacy violations demonstrates a pattern of professional conduct that I found egregious and harmful. Conclusion: My experience with this practice, from the psychologically harmful questioning to the owner's public violation of my privacy, was detrimental. I was having a lot of trouble with adult acne and scaring. My dermatologist had me taking oral antibiotics and topical creams and nothing was helping. In fact my acne and scaring got worse. I found out about Red Lotus and Patrica online and made an appointment to meet with her. When I arrived I was very impressed by the ambiance of the salon. It was both pleasing to the eye, and soothing to the mind. Patrica spoke with me about my skin issues, diet, and goals for nearly 45 minutes before she even started on my facial. I have been seeing her for about two months now. My skin is clearer and my scarring has reduced. Though not perfect - I still get breakouts in my chin area due to hormone changes, I am more comfortable going out without any kind of make up where in the past I was too embarrassed. Patrica is very thorough - after a facial peel she goes over the routine I must follow in a step by step process. She calls later to check on me to see how I am feeling and how my skin is doing and always offers suggestions and encourages me to contact her if I need to. I have nothing but great things to say about Patricia. I moved here from New York and I was very nervous about finding a person to touch my skin. My skin is very sensitive and i'm an african american female. I've been to places in Portland that were terrible even though they claimed to know what they were doing. Patricia is DIFFERENT! Like most people with acne, I have tried almost every product on the market, got prescriptions from my doctor and received facials regularly in hopes of clear skin. Nothing I've tried has come even close to what Patricia has done for my skin in the past 5 months. Not only do I have clear, soft skin (I NEVER thought I'd say that!) but I haven't had a breakout in 3 months and most of my scares are beginning to fade. Patricia came up with a customized skin care plan for me and I just can't believe the way my skin looks as a result. Her products are a little more expensive than what you'd find in the store but they actually work and if you aren't happy with your skin the money spent is totally worth it (I just think of all the money wasted on masks, products etc that never worked). Patricia was recommended to me by a naturopath I was seeing last year- to treat skin as bad as it gets. I am so thankful to have found Patricia!! I have always had pretty clear skin but that changed when I got pregnant. Candi has been doing my lash extensions for several months. I couldn't be happier with her work. Or with her for that matter, she is a delight. I go for fills every two or three weeks; in reality I could wait longer between fills, they stay very full the whole time. It's definitely important to maintain the extensions as instructed, which takes a total of two or three minutes a day, and is totally worth it. The room was cozy, the music soothing & I was so comfortable to be there as she quickly put me at ease as she asked lots of questions regarding health & previous experience. ( please keep in mind, I had experienced some allergies around my eyes & she was being cautious as we are dealing with chemicals near your eyes) I found it very relaxing & think I even fell asleep. None of my old outgrown lashes were ever removed, instead they would just glue a new fan of lashes on the old fan of lashes on top of a single eyelash. Over the course of 5 months I was left with almost no natural lashes left due to breakage. It took having to go to another lash tech to tell me how damaged my lashes were and to not go back here. I started getting my lashes done in March- and there are some women that can go years with lash extensions before this kind of thing happens. I'm definitely not going back. As nice as the people are there- I need to care for the health of my poor lashes.

I had a tear that was below the skin line and desperate to get it fixed before it tore further. Anita was kind enough to fit me in quickly. Anita has me call when I arrived and met me at the door in full PPE. After asking me the required Covid screening questions we went into her studio. The salon was lovely and it was clear they are taking every precaution. Anita did a wonderful job getting my nails back to lovely and could not have been sweeter!! I highly recommend!!
