Awesome place to stay, close to Degray, outside shower was amazing. Very clean, bed & linens awesome & kitchen fully stocked- all upgraded. We loved the quietness of rustic romance and we will be back. They even had a box fan!! can't wait to come in winter with the fire pit & screened in porch bed. we just didn't enjoy it this time due to it being 110 degrees outside. The positives: This place was FANTASTIC! super clean. The hot tub was great. The whole place was just so well put together. The price was good. It was out away from civilization far enough away for quiet enjoyment of nature but close enough to several downtown entertainment and dining choices. We stayed in Romantic Creek Cabin and it was super secluded. The bed is ridiculously comfortable and makes you want to never get up. The hot tub was great as was the outdoor shower located next to it. Large screened in porch with full size bed swing it comfortable although being August we didn't use it much because it was a bit humid outside. Check in and check out is super easy. The negatives: little to no cell service. We were able to make and receive cell calls but no reliable data service. Which only mattered because of checking in with our kiddos. Otherwise, unplugging is kind of the point right? One night we decided to stay in and just watch a movie on tv. The tv and sat service/ Blu-ray is great but being that there is only a tv in the living room it was mildly disappointing. The shower in the room has great water pressure. Maybe too great. Ha. The non adjustable shower head type combined with the pressure made for a shower that fired a little too hard for our taste. But the amazing waterfall outdoor shower makes up for that. No wifi That's really the only negatives and they aren't really negatives as much as things you just need to be aware of ahead of time. We recently enjoyed a three day stay in the Caddo Ridge cabin on our trip to the Hot Springs area. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated, and the bed was comfortable. They have a list of rules longer than those you would find at your parents' house! LOTS of rules about everything, even the washcloths. We cooked the majority of our meals there, the kitchen is stocked with the basics and we used the outdoor grill for steaks which worked out very well. There's a glider on the back porch where we enjoyed the pond, birds, and deer in the morning and early evenings, very pleasant! There were holes in the screens on the porch and lots of wasps. We ended up driving to a convenience store for bug spray so they wouldn't enter the cabin.. Unfortunately our cabin was situated very close to the road so there was road noise, then headlights from passing cars when we were out by the firepit so you might want to select a cabin farther from the road. We didn't immediately lock the door and an individual seeking information about the cabins walked right in while we were unpacking groceries. Be sure to lock the door. Additional signage by the owners might be helpful. There were no chairs provided for sitting near the fire, if you have room you might want to pack some. The rules say not to move furniture outdoors! I would suggest you take a pass on their $35 offer to "stock the 'fridge" for breakfast. A pound of bacon, a dozen eggs, 4 small bottles of oj, two cans of biscuits,and a 1/2 stick of butter would not add up to 1/2 that at the overpriced grocery store north on route 7. read more

Our stay at Remember When Cabins was absolutely wonderful! The owners have managed to create an environment that offers as much privacy as you might want in a boutique-level environment. We stayed in Caddo Ridge, and found the cabin to be bright, clean, open, and beautifully appointed on all fronts. We had a great time during our stay. We came here for some time to ourselves(no kids). We spent the entire time just relaxing! From lounging around watching movies to star gazing in the hot tub, it was an all-around great time. We even got to watch the Cowboys WIN AGAIN! This was a great little getaway. We found Remember When Cabins when our daughter was a student at Ouachita Baptist University, and made so many wonderful memories staying here ... having her and friends over for chili or roasting marshmallows, etc. Barry and Edie are the perfect hosts (so welcoming and helpful) and the cabins, each decorated in a different theme, are beautiful -- luxurious actually. Compared to local hotels, they might seem pricey, but you are getting so much more. Each cabin is equipped with a full kitchen, one full bedroom with wonderfully comfortable mattresses and linens, large bathroom with linens, including beach towels. The living area has a queen sized sleeper sofa that is truly comfortable, a gas fireplace, and flat screen TV. Every cabin also has it's own hot tub and screened in porch with tables and chairs. We love having coffee out here in the mornings. Finally, my husband's favorite thing about Remember When is fishing on their own private lake and watching the deer graze around the lake every morning. If you have a student at OBU or Henderson, or if you are just someone looking to get away from the city and experience a restful weekend without giving up conveniences, I recommend Remember When. read more

Remember When Cabins is located on beautiful, serene acreage that creates a relaxing and peaceful getaway. We stayed in the first cabin on the left. It was immaculate - think 5 star hotel clean. It is very close to lake De Gray, but the property also has great fishing as well. If you happen to ride motorcycles, you're in for some amazing rides. There are plenty of great roads near the property and the surrounding area. Lastly, you could not ask for better owners. Barry and Edie take great pride in managing these cabins and it shows. 5 stars - will definitely be back! read more
