Particularly concerning was the manner in which my mother, the widow, was treated throughout the process. Rather than feeling supported during an already difficult and emotional time, she was frequently made to feel as though her questions and concerns were unreasonable. The experience left us feeling dismissed, unheard, and without the transparency we believed was necessary to understand the administration of the estate. Over the course of this matter, repeated efforts were made to obtain information and seek clarification. We also attempted to contact senior members and partners of the firm regarding our concerns, yet our requests for communication went unanswered. We were further troubled by the substantial professional fees charged to the estate. As family members attempting to understand the financial administration of the estate, we sought greater detail and transparency regarding these costs and their supporting documentation.
