It is our first time to visit this shop in Solvang. It was such a delight since there are numerous antique items which are of investment-quality. Truly a precious store! I really enjoyed looking and discovering a lot of items- soooo much nice things to look at. There are a lot of music boxes and clocks that caught my attention. Try stopping by this place when in Solvang!

This was one of my favorite store to walk into while in solvang. I was so mesmerized with the music boxes!! A very nice lady gave us info, walked us through some items and even let us listen to the music. It was so beautiful. It's a goal to come back and buy a music box. All of the items in this store were restored and will have a 1 year warranty when you make a purchase. Clocks were beautiful here too but I loved the music boxes more. If you're in the area, I recommend this antique. The next time I come here, I'll be buying a music box.

truly a gem of a store... this was a mystical place filled with exquisite treasures of yesteryear. upon stepping inside renaissance antiques one is instantly transported to a kinder, gentler time in history. between the vintage phonographs, the magnificent timepieces, the elegant furnishings & the various art works, one's senses are overloaded with memories of visits to great historic homes & museums. one simply would never expect to find such a jewel in the midst of solvang with its plethora of sweet shops & touristy boutiques filled with novelty trinkets. many times, I fell madly in lust with assorted objet d'art in this showroom. sadly, most were well beyond my self-employed budget. truth be told, my annual holiday trips to solvang were never complete without perusing treasures at renaissance. like many, I am saddened to learn of the closure of this charming & unique mom & pop business that brought so much joy into my life. I wish the lovely proprietors well in their retirement & thank them for their years of sharing their passion for art & beauty with us.

When my grandfather passed away in 1995, I inherited a Magic Dancer music box. It was my favorite, and I was mesmerized by the bobbing dancer with doves and the little tune it played. Very shortly after inheriting it, the music mechanism stopped working and the Magic Dancer stopped dancing. After 25 years of silence, Ron at Renaissance Antiques has resurrected my Magic Dancer. Ron truly is an angel and I wish I could give Renaissance Antiques more than 5 stars because they deserve it. Thank you Ron Palladino [and Julie and staff] for bringing a piece of my grandfather back to life.

Every time we come to Solving, we always come to this place. It is very fascinating to how a human mind can be this creative. We absolutely love this place and their mechanics. It's like a museum, has all different types of architecture. I will give the place a 5-star. I recommend people visiting this place, maybe you will find something you like.

They sized my watch while I waited for a good price. I recommend calling to be sure the jeweler is in.

Great selection and incredibly knowledgeable staff. They took the time to show us how things worked. It's like visiting a museum.

Worst experience ever. We were not greeted when we walked. The salesman was very rude and unwelcoming.

While in Solvang, we found this really cool vintage thrift shop and walked around a bit. The inside had so many items to look at, but still felt very organized and didn't leave me feeling overwhelmed. They had everything - old records, comics, purses, fur coats, glassware -- even backstage passes from different concerts which I thought was pretty cool. I am always on the hunt for Uranium glass and A Piece of the Past had a few items. One being an ashtray and another being a set of glasses that I am still kicking myself for not just buying. Service was very friendly throughout the store and I also thought that most of the items were fairly priced - it didn't feel like they were trying to gouge anyone. Check them out!

Happiness set in as soon as I walked through the door. Clean, organized, bright and more importantly -- no old, dirty smell! The first item that caught my eye was a handmade mug. It reminded me of when my grandson was learning the alphabet as he would excitedly shout "N is for Narwhal!" Needless to say, I couldn't put it back down. We browsed every corner and found so many lovely items, including a beautiful vintage vanity (on my wish list). Prices were surprisingly reasonable, which made it really difficult not to buy more. As we were ready to check out with my mug, the husband pointed out a tiny silver scoop in a locked case. He could tell on my face that I wanted to add it to my collection, so he called someone to open the case -- he's such an enabler. :) The staff are easy to find, incredibly friendly and helpful. Such a great place -- we'll be back!

It was epic to witness. I've only ever seen items like this at the Getty. This is definitely a place you have to check out and plan to purchase from. I believe the pricing is fair because these are antiques that are made from scratch-- I mean everything is hand crafted. When you see something this nice, you would never want anyone to have a duplicate of it. It's so classy and the staff were incredibly kind. I believe this place is family-run, and it shows in how thoughtfully it's maintained. It felt inclusive and welcoming. Appointments are highly recommended, and this is not a space for children. I noticed they allow calm, well-behaved pets on leash or harness for private parties, which I appreciated. I first visited at 7 AM when they were closed just to admire the exterior, then came back around 12:30 PM to take it all in with better light.
