Nice hotel locate one street north of the Tuileries Garden. Upon check we were greeted with a glass of champagne. Very nice touch. The lobby is itty bitty, which was the basic theme of this entire hotel. We reserved a corner king suite. It wasn't a corner room and definitely didn't feel like a suite. It did have a king bed with just enough room for a rollaway bed at the foot of it for our daughter. This left barely enough room to walk from one side to the other. Our view was of a wall of windows on the other side of a small courtyard. Bathroom was adequate. Shower was very moldy, but had sufficient water pressure. The construction noise is ever present. From early to late. Staff was fantastic. Breakfast was very good, but pricey at around 32 euro pp. You'll pay a premium for this hotel solely for the location. Everything was within about a mile from us. Otherwise, this hotel is just....meh. read more

But the construction noise next door was brutal. We're jetlagged and really needed to sleep in, but every morning by 7 AM, it was full-on noise--impossible to rest. I don't understand why this hotel gets such a low rating because it's honestly a great hotel conveniently located near many of Paris' main attractions. The staff was very nice, welcomed us with a sparkling glass of champagne. The room was great with a small balcony for us to enjoy in the evening and morning. As part of a 10 day trip to Paris, I mapped out 4 different hotels hoping to get a different experience in each arrondissement (district) so we started out at this hotel because I wanted to do some shopping in the Vendome area and also see the Louvre and other sightseeing spots. Unknowingly we arrived in the middle of Paris Fashion Week which explained why hotels were so expensive - we booked at a little over $400/night (total $840). We only ended up staying 2 nights bc the Westin Vendome ended up having some availability. Rating this hotel was a bit hard because there were some things really great and others not so much. So for the great: 1. location was fabulous in terms of being a quick walk to designer/luxury shopping and a bit further for sightseeing but very manageable 2. the front desk was fabulous, they were extremely responsive through the Bonvoy app which was so helpful since we didn't speak French 3. Breakfast Buffet was solid. They were undergoing renovations but held the buffet in the restaurant next door. I'm not sure how much it costs but if u have Bonvoy status it is included which ends up saving you a lot of money since thats one less meal you have to pay for every day. Now for the not so great: 1) the rooms are old and our king bed was not firm and it was a split king so we kept sinking into the middle of the bed so I definitely did not sleep well 2) the bathrooms are small and there was a tub with no shower / curtain so we showered in the stand up (separate) shower and it was TINY! Maybe 3 square feet? So basically don't plan on shaving ur legs in there or dropping the soap. Overall the service was fantastic but not enough to outweigh how uncomfortable we were in the room and the price. Although I'd consider staying here again and upgrading to a bigger room and when it isn't restaurant week. read more

I'd like to start off that we always stay at 5 star hotels book through Platinum Amex and are elite gold members of Marriott Bonvoy. I booked 2 rooms for the week of new years. We usually stay at the Ritz but they were booked along with other normal 5 stars hotels we stay at. After much consideration we decided to choose the Renaissance due to its location and trusting in the 5 star status it had along with the pictures. We arrived and it seemed like a cute small boutique hotel. They informed us that the rooms are on separate floors, even though I booked 6 months in advance and I specifically emailed them to book us on the same floor. They tell me "I hope you will accept" as if at that point I have a choice! The hallways have absolutely no heat. The rooms were tiny like cruise cabins. Our bathroom was divided with the toilet in the beginning of the room and tiny bathtub/shower was at the end. We had no shower gel and when asked they brought one with a broken pump. The floors in the room were freezing and the toilet seat. There was never a towel in the bathroom with the toilet. The king size bed was 2 twins mattresses which were slanted toward the middle, we had to place pillows so that we would stop waking each other up. They probably have never vacuumed that room since opening. Under the bed was more dust than in King Louis tomb with large dust bunnies fly out from under. We had to ask for everything each day, towels bathrobes, water etc. My kids room was even smaller. They couldnt even fit an open suit case on the floor. The restaurant downstairs had no milk for coffee in the morning for 3 days in a row. I was going to order milk for them through uber on the 4th day but was surprised that they actually received it. The staff were friendly and location excellent. The last day I am sitting and waiting for our car and noticed an actual giant roach crawling up my leg. I flicked it off with my phone and went and told the front desk staff and they had ZERO REACTION! As if it's their pet and they don't know why I'm complaining. We returned here for another visit, and the place was not as good as our memory of it. Our room was on the First Floor. The place is looking a bit worn. The flooring in our room is starting to de-laminate, the cabinets and trim are dinged and worn, the photo over the bed is warping from humidity. We cannot open the windows to the interior courtyard because of the mildew emanating from the courtyard. One elevator was out of service -- not a problem, just an indication. So my wife and I are hotel snobs. We are American :) When traveling to Europe we always choose American brands. Things to note - The rooms are big (for Europe), they are clean, the staff was extremely friendly and they had a terrific indoor pool and steam. The whole "the French aren't friendly" is an outdated stereotype and the staff here will prove that. I'd like to give a massive shout out to Stephanie, Yanisse (I'm spelling his name wrong) and Yana. The 3 of them left impressions on us. We bonded with them and they made us feel like friends. I forgot the name of the hostess / manager in the breakfast lounge downstairs in the lobby with blonde hair and tattoos but she was awesome and funny too! Their breakfasts were next level! Best eggs you've ever had. We WILL be back to stay here when we are in Paris again. read more

Location is what makes this hotel SO AMAZING!!!! You are located a few blocks from the Tuileries, Louvre, metro station, and excellent luxury shopping on Rue St. Honoree!!!!! It's a great hotel that you can just wander around in a charming area. The wonderful location is what makes your Paris trip enjoyable. The room was great too. I felt like the room itself was pretty modern, I'm guessing it was recently renovated. We got upgraded to a slightly larger room, which was so nice! We also had a cool view of the street and building next door. I will say that the bathroom could have been improved though. It was super tiny, with a toilet that was cheap, and a sink with faucet handles that were leaking water. The towels were ok, but I wish they provided more, and face towels if anything. They also have free events a few times a month, and one of them landed on our stay. They did a collaboration with a winery, so one night we got a free glass of sparkling wine and Cabernet Sauv! Nice way to start the evening. The service here was fantastic - above and beyond. They were extremely helpful and friendly. The front desk gentlemen brought me down to the bathroom personally (even though it was quite busy at check in) to show me the route since it was confusing from the painting they were having done. They gave us espresso during our check in, and bottles of Evian water. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in a prime location! read more

This hotel is in a great location in the middle of Paris with easy access to many sites and metro stop. We left our bags a day earlier as we were traveling overnight to London and didn't want to carry all of our bags. That was really awesome. The attached restaurant is also very, very good. Make a reservation as it does get incredibly busy. For elite members the included breakfast is at the attached restaurant and also very good. Two negative points about the hotel were: 1. the size of the rooms. Ours was incredibly small and barely had space for two people to use it. The bathroom was well appointed but the sleeping area was so uncomfortable. 2. We were unable to control the heat in our room. We called down a few times and were told that it was centrally managed. We asked for it to be adjusted but it felt like it just got warmer and warmer. We had to sleep with the window open to make it somewhat comfortable. That was a huge bummer. read more

Friendly and accommodating staff. We stayed in the "Prestige, Larger Guest room" with a King sized bed and it was comfortable. Although the room was not what one might consider large, it was of decent size. Location-wise, it's about a block or so from Jardin des Tuileries, the Louvre, the Seine and EXCELLENT shopping. The husband and I had been to Paris several times before but we decided to book Paris to do some sight seeing with my 3.5 year old as she developed a bit of a Paris obsession (Madeline books, images of Eiffel Tower etc) and had a great experience here. Upon arrival, there was a hand written note to welcome us, complimentary bottle of wine, an Evian, chocolates and some cheese biscuits waiting for us which was a nice touch. Margiela toiletries was also a plus. Hours after check out, I'd received an email invoice reflecting some discrepancies with the mini purchases. We called and they took care of it immediately. When we got there our room wasn't ready, so we went into town to pass the time by. When we got back our room was ready, but check in was at 4 but they let us in early. I am staying with my sister and daughter and we had one bed and a couch. One of the staff came and set up the bed neatly for my daughter. I found this property to be in a great location and the room was just okay. As a Platinum Elite member however the "upgrade" was not an upgrade. They gave me a balcony room in the middle of winter while it was freezing and raining all week. The balcony was so tiny to begin with. They seemed pleased with themselves on the wonderful upgrade they provided me. It was not wonderful. It was a regular lower level room. The breakfast buffet left a whole lot to be desired. The food quality was sub-par (omelets were overcooked and dry, bacon like shoe leather, no soda option for breakfast). I had stayed at the Renaissance Amsterdam where there was an awesome buffet the week before. The Paris location was not good from the food level. The staff didn't seem to even be aware that the food was bad. I think there are better Marriott options in Paris. read more

We used our Marriott points, and added a night with plenty of notice. Not a last minute booking. Tourism is way up so all rooms were booked. Our room was on the first floor. It had a seating area outside, but no view. We had booked an upgraded room with a balcony. That was the first disappointment. But next was the AC. It was a portable unit that we had to turn on, open the door to the outside so the exhaust hose could be vented out the door. This meant having a door to the outside open all night. On our AM arrival we checked in, had a walk around the area and some lunch. We returned for a nap, and were fast asleep until there was a staff member who had entered our room. Not good to have a stranger standing there when you're asleep. And the best, or worst thing was the mouse that was running around on the floor by our open luggage, finally hiding behind the trash can. If you see one during the day, there is a pretty good chance there is a rodent problem. The breakfast was good - but that mouse probably has cousins in the kitchen. Location good. The reason I'm only giving 4-stars is because of the bar located on the main floor and the NOISE it generates until 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. We stayed at the Vendome for 5 nights while visiting Paris. The rooms are typical for Europe (small). The room included a queen size bed, desk area, coffee machine, cappuccino machine, safe, closet with bathrobes, mini bar, and 1 suite case rack. The bathroom was spacious with separate shower and toilet area. It also included a large tub and sufficient vanity area. There were also USB ports in the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet with no city noise. We did not eat in the restaurant but did have drinks at the bar. Everyone spoke English and the location was phenomenal. They had a very busy and vibrant Happy Hour in the lobby and small bar area. Delicious chocolate was left for us every night. The front staff was friendly as was the concierge. Negatives: We were never helped with our luggage on entry. The doorman did call for a cab and helped with luggage when we left. In 5 days I believe the door person opened the door 1 time for us and verbally acknowledged us with a greeting. The wine selection was very limited at the bar since the restaurant had middle eastern cuisine. Our cappuccino machine did not work 1 day only to not have any cappuccino left for us on other days. The complimentary wine glasses were not cleaned and the creamer for coffee was not resupplied. Overall it was a good stay due to the location. We generally left early in the morning and didn't return until after dinner so the small room wasn't a problem. read more

The hotel is extremely expensive for what it is. You're paying for the location. The rooms--even upgraded rooms--are small. Furniture in my room is chipped. Carpet is thin and feels (and looks) old. The indoor pool is only heated to around 80-82f which is not especially warm. Getting in the pool, it feels even colder. We were there for the holidays and the hotel was being renovated but everything looked fine. Our stay came with daily breakfast buffet, which was very convenient since we were able to just grab a quick breakfast and go. The buffet food was also good. The fact that this hotel is billed as a 5-star property and has 4 stars on Yelp is beyond my comprehension. In fact, these ratings are so inflated and mind boggling, I'm wondering if other Yelpers actually stayed in this property. To begin with, a five-star hotel should have an inviting and spacious lobby with comfortable seating and furnishings. The lobby in the Renaissance is threadbare, small, and sparsely furnished. We found the reception personnel and concierge to be exceptional, definitely befitting a five-star European hotel. Our biggest problem with the hotel is guest rooms. Having traveled to Europe on multiple occasions, we are well acquainted with small rooms. Our room at Renaissance was indeed small. Again, like in the lobby, furnishings appeared to purchased at IKEA and the theme seemed more befitting a college dorm than a 5-star hotel. The hotel's location is fabulous. Easily walkable to wonderful shopping and dining options. Very near Louvre and sites of historic and cultural significance. I really feel deceived. This hotel is in a similar price range of FAR SUPERIOR, LUXURY HOTELS IN THE SAME NEIGHBORHOOD, so caveat emptor Yelpers! read more

My girlfriend redeemed Marriott points for a night at this hotel in early December 2010. My review would be the same if we had payed for the hotel. In short, loved it. In the past when I have redeemed hotel points for a free night, I have been treated like a second-class citizen. No perks typically offered with points status, low-floor room, etc. This is NOT the case at this hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I have stayed (and lived) in some very nice hotels in multiple countries and rarely have I received the level of service we received at this hotel, and for a reward-points stay! This hotel is a model of guest service. To start off, since we were meeting in Paris from different European destinations, I arrived ahead of my girlfriend. I took a seat in the lounge adjacent to the lobby and helped myself to the combination coffee, tea and hot chocolate machine. I sat there for over an hour waiting for her and was not one time hassled by the hotel staff. The hotel is located on a quiet side street, one block up from a major road, providing a good logistical location, while sparing guests from road noise, perfection. Upon checking in, we were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite (I would like to at this point remind everyone that this was a free stay!) which was very comfortably designed. Our room featured many tones of beige, all tied together nicely with the modern artwork on the walls which were black-framed. The hotel is, in our opinion, walking-distance to many of Paris' most famous attractions including the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Notre Dame Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe, Luxembourg Gardens, Latin Quarter, and the Eiffel Tower. Sites like Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, and the Eiffel Tower may not be considered walking-distance for all, but we enjoyed wandering our way to and from the hotel on the vibrant streets of the French capital. The hotel recommended a good company we used to cruise down the Seine during our night in Paris. After an exhausting day of playing tourist, we returned to the hotel late and ordered room service while watching a football game I streamed on the Internet. The hotel Internet was speedy and at 15 euros, actually a reasonable price for Europe. I paid nearly 30 Munich once, and my girlfriend had to pay 50 Pounds to chat with me from London, and we had no choice because we were planning this very trip. Room service was good. Only complaint would be the poor beer selection. Yeah I know, France, wine, blah blah. I was having a burger, one drinks beer with a burger! In addition to the upgrade, the hotel offered us free breakfast in either the restaurant or via room service. We opted for room service. Each getting some eggs and toast. Simple, energizing, and good. We checked out the next morning and the hotel allowed us to store our bags there while we walked around until our overnight train to Venice later that night and called a taxi for us for our departure that evening. Our stay in Paris this time ( 4th trip in recent years) at the Renaissance Vendome is unequalled by any previous stays in Paris. We always stay at a Marriott but, this hotel was by the best!! We had 2 rooms for 8 days. Upon arrival, we were upgraded due to Lifetime Titanium status which is always a plus. The Navigator was by far the most helpful person we have ever encountered during a stay anywhere. The location is absolute perfection!! Right in the middle of everything. We were able to walk just about everywhere due to its proximity to al the major sites. The Louvre was under 10 minutes, Champs Elyssee (which is where we usually stay) was 15 minutes depending on your pace, All the major shopping was surrounding the hotel. The only place that was a hike was Sacré-Cœur 1.8 miles but, it was still an easy walk. Most people, not us, would Uber or taxi to the Eiffel Tower but, we walked it taking in many sites along the way. My wife developed a bad sinus infection on day 3. We contacted the Navigator and they arranged for a doctor to visit her in our room. The doctor was there within 40 minutes, did his examination and wrote her the prescription needed. The Navigator shut down their service to go and get the prescriptions filled and delivered them to our room, within 35 minutes. Total cost. $245 for doctor and 5 medications!! If you do not have breakfast included in your stay you still must try the breakfast at the hotel. It is amazing!!! You can enjoy buffet style and or, order from a menu. We did both and OMG, it was fantastic. The bar opens at 6pm and we enjoyed one night having out having a few glasses of wine. Very affordable and friendly. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel enough! This will be our new home every time we return! read more

I should have realized, one week after an amazing stay at the Westin Dublin, that I should stick with Westin properties where possible. Unfortunately I didn't use my head and booked 2 nights at the Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel instead. Huge...gigantic mistake. So this hotel has some good points: beautiful pool / sauna area, clean rooms, and fantastic location. But that's where the good ends. And now for the not-so-good: *Tiny rooms. Since we had our daughter with us, we booked a Jr. Suite. The room was SO SMALL that I felt as though we were all going to go mad in a "The Shining" sort of way. For 529 Euros a night I would expect larger and have in fact received larger for less on most of our other Paris trips (Marriott Champs-Elysees, Scribe, etc.). *Terrible views. Our first Jr. Suite was on the first floor with an indoor view overlooking absolutely nothing anybody would want to see. Apparently all Jr. Suites face indoors (puzzling). The staff moved us up to a 3rd floor room which was marginally better but still faced a dilapidated building. Very disappointing for the price. *Security. The safety chain is a joke. It reaches so far in that anybody could easily slip through it. Also, housekeeping doesn't bother to knock first, they just enter and then apologize for doing so. I don't get it. *Staff is overall fairly nice but they don't go out of their way to do anything. Example: my husband is a gold member and they didn't let us know that breakfast was included with his membership so we ate outside of the hotel on the first morning. Another example: We requested checkout at 1 pm instead of 12 pm and had to escalate to 3 people before the whopping 60 minutes was indeed granted to us. A final example: Housekeeping left one small bottle of Evian in our room. For 3 people to share. Seriously? We brought our issues to the hotel staff throughout our stay in hopes that they would make things right. One staff member was apologetic saying that they are a "boutique" hotel and they "will escalate to the manager." Either the manager didn't care or the problems were not brought to the manager's attention...who knows? Here is what I do know: we will NEVER stay here again. read more

This is a great little hotel, wonderful employees ,and a fabulous location. We were able to walk to the d'Orsay Museum, the Louvre, Notre-Dame, and lots of other local attractions. We were also able to walk to the train that took us to Versailles. Another great feature was the Irish bar right across the street. Try to stop in on the night the piano player is there, he's great. Hotel restaurant was fabulous and not outrageously priced. It is a distance from the airport, but convenient for attractions. I just don't understand why there are ZERO drawers for storage in the rooms. read more

This is a boutique hotel on a side street close to many major tourist attractions. It is within walking distance to the Louvre, Tuileries Gardens, Place Vendome and Place de la Concorde. It is also very close to high end shopping. The Musee d'Orsay is a quick walk across the Seine as well. There is a bar and restaurant on the reception level. The hotel also provides free coffee next to the front desk until 3 pm. There is an indoor pool that opens until 11 pm and a 24 hour gym. The staff are friendly and helpful. The concierge and front desk staff recommended some great restaurants in the area and made reservations for us for dinner. We arrived in Paris on a late flight and they called several restaurants in the area to see which ones were still open so we would find a place to eat. We came here to start our honeymoon. We booked the hotel with Marriott points and they upgraded our room when we arrived. They also gave us a bottle of champagne in our room with a welcome note. We stayed in a Prestige room with a king sized bed (I originally booked a room with a queen sized bed). Our room was on the top floor with a view of the inner courtyard which looks into the skylight in the lobby. The room itself is quite small but very comfortable. The furnishings are very nicely done - cream walls, wooden panels for the closets, frosted glass doors for the toilet and shower. The toilet is in a separate room from the bath/shower. Housekeeping comes twice a day to freshen up the room and provide turn down service. I'm writing this review from our room on our last day in Paris because I wanted to make sure I didn't leave anything out about this awesome hotel. I highly recommend this place! The room is huge, or maybe I was given a big room since someone complained her room was tiny? I was also thrilled when the amenities inside the room were Bvlgari!! Staffs were very friendly, always greeted me whenever I was walking into the hotel or leaving the hotel. I love how the hotel set up a table near the reception area where guests can help themselves with those heavenly marshmallow candies. The hotel even provides plastic bags, ribbons and tongs (very sanitary, very thoughtful) so one can bag the candies and enjoy in the room. There was a table with pitchers of water accented with orange slices and lemon slices for the guests. These are some lovely touches which I do appreciate a lot. Musee du Louvre is a short walk from the hotel. So is Le jardin des Tuileries (Tuileries garden). One can walk to these must go places in Paris easily. Metro station (Tuileries station) is a few minutes walk away too. But I have walked from the Louis Vuitton flagship store at Champs Élysées back to hotel, it was not too bad since I am not one who loves to walk a lot and far. If I can do it, anyone should be too. I like to walk in Paris instead of taking the metro all the time since I get to see more by foot. My only little complaint of this hotel is there is not much view from my room and the toilet is separated from the bathroom. Kind of a weird layout for me. Other than that, I will still be very happy to stay here again if I next visit Paris. read more

I enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It was a little small, but I guess that's how it is in Paris. The room was small but really cozy. We got breakfast in the morning and they did have some healthy options. Service for breakfast was a little weak at times. We ordered a boiled egg one day and we never got it. I have to give them some credit because they were always very quick getting you tea or coffee. The hotel is very close to the L'ouvre and a lot of other points of interest in Paris. It's really a great location right in front of the Jardin Tuileris. They had a gym but it was very small, only one or two people could possible work out comfortably there. Good location and great breakfast for platinum members. I stayed here on points so it was free and when it is free it is hard to complain. The location is great, right near the Louvre. The only problem I had with the place is you cannot take a shower without getting water all over the floor. They have no shower curtains, I guess it is a french thing. The rooms were also very small, like NYC small. With two people in a room you do not have much space, but you probably did not book here to spend time in the room. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Renaissance Paris Vendome for 4 nights in mid November, traveling with two friends. We had read the reviews warning of the small rooms, but we rechecked the website which says the Paris rooftop rooms are on the 5th floor and are 22sq./m or 237 sq feet--not too bad. The picture shows a spacious room with two windows and after living in a tiny NYC apartment for over 20 years, we felt this was a non-issue. Our friends checked in first for a booking identical to ours. Their room is just as pictured on the Marriott.com website. However, when we checked-in, there was only one window, a much smaller room than pictured, 30% smaller than our friends. The room was so small, that if the curtain was closed you had to physically move the fabrics to get into and out of bed. On the other side of the bed, only one person can access the closet at a time. Besides the small room that was less than promised, the water temperature in the shower would fluctuate so badly that you'd be either chilled or scalded. The front desk said they sent someone to look at it, day after day that we complained, but it persisted throughout our stay. After filling out the survey upon our return home, the management sent an email assuring us the room we stayed in was the one we booked. The pictures and dimensions on the website prove this to be incorrect. Nicolas also said he offered us a different room but we declined. The truth is he offered to UPSELL us a more expensive room. Having decided this place was not going to get another dime, we declined. The doormen are great, very helpful at finding our Uber, hailing taxis, and opening doors. The room was kept clean by prompt housekeeping service, though turndown service went 2 of 4 nights. Beds were very comfortable though there was no top sheet, just a duvet. The location is terrific, but definitely not worth the money or layers of skin lost in the scalding shower. This is not a 5 star hotel. The rooms are not as described. I'd suggest staying somewhere else. read more

We are gold elite members with Marriott and have stayed at this hotel before. I accidentally booked a reservation 3 months in advance, but didn't realize it was a non refundable rate. I simply wasn't paying attention and missed the cancelation deadline by 5 days. They charged our card the full amount (almost $5000) and are refusing to refund our money. We have been loyal to the Marriott chain for business and personal travel for 6 years and this is how they deal with it? They still have 3+ months to fill that reservation and will lose our business for good over a little mistake. Hold on to your wallet here! The manager was NOT at all accommodating. read more

Service is very inadequate. The room service takes forever and they never send you the correct order. This has happened to me so many times & when you're on vacation it's such a disappointment & waste of your precious time. Not to mention I've had stomach issues due to serving me the wrong milk which has made this trip painful and upsetting. If you don't have something let the guest know, don't just send something else. read more

Boutique type hotel with all the down home amenities..it helps if you are a Marriott frequent guest member (free wifi). Room was small but all rooms in downtown Paris are small so it's unfair to complain about the room size. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Concierge David V. is top drawer! It's convenient to all Paris icons, subway, cafes and shopping. The restaurant is very upscale and food (breakfast) was superb. Used the gym but not the spa and I was quite impressed as I did not expect to see such a complete work out room in such a small space! The Irish bar across the street is both a great place to have dinner (recommend the Chicken with whiskey sauce) and it can be noisy so when making reservations here's a tip: email the hotel and deal with the concierge and request a room off the Rue du Mont Thabor (street in between hotel and Carr's Irish bar). We loved it and would definitely go back! I labeled this as pricey but it could be ultra high end depending on season of year and the currency translation We paid on average $320 Euro a night when the Euro averaged $1.22 so for you non-math folks that about $390 US a night. read more

I'm staying in this hotel as I write this review. Sadly, I'm trapped here for 4 more nights since I prepaid my bill in full. If you look at the photos that somebody or the hotel attached to this listing- one thing ought to jump out; that there are no photos of the hotel's bedrooms. All that's been posted are photos of their petite lobby. First off, my room is smaller than the cabin I had on my last cruise. Supposedly, according to the receptionist, my room was upgraded to a "superior" room since i'm staying for a full week. If my room is superior, and it's so small and it's on the first floor, well, what the heck are they offering as a standard room? A closet in the basement? The bath tub is so narrow that I can't face the shower head. I have to stand sideways. The shower head points straight down. So, I have to stand sideways on top of the drain to get under the water. The tub faucet projects sideways into the tub, toward the front of the tub, further compromising the little space there is to stand under the water. The tub is elevated above the bathroom floor. Thus, getting out of the tub is a tricky and somewhat perilous endeavor. The mattress seemed to be harder than a box spring. But, in fact, there was no box spring- just an incredibly hard "mattress", resting on a wooden platform. I asked the manager to do something about the bed. He added a blanket beneath the sheet. No improvement. My back aches... Last night my first floor room was bombarded by 2am to 8am construction noise. Tonight the noise from the Irish bar (Carr's) that's directly across the street is keeping me awake. The seemingly drunken customers have spilled onto the street, directly in front of the hotel's front doors. It's now 1am and there's no end in sight. There is nothing about this hotel that's 5 star. How could Hotel de Louvre, George V, or other truly luxurious properties be in the same class as this micro-hotel? I want out!!! Update-- At 2 am the hotel moved us to another room (#411)- away from the street and bar-noise. Just when I couldn't imagine that a "5-star" property could have a smaller bedroom- this hotel proved me wrong. My wife recorded the dimensions which I will post later- but if I had to guess, I'd say that more than 50% of the room was filled with the bed. And this bed was no more comfortable than the one we encountered in our first room (#103). The pillows were worse in that they hardly compressed/conformed to one's head. It was like resting your head on a stack of towels. The room was so small that we had to have the hotel store our baggage in their own closet. A lack of drawers and storage became apparent when we unpacked (again) the following day. See the photos I posted. How are 2 people, staying for a week, supposed to cram all of their belongings into that closet? The only other storage was a single small drawer in each of the night stands. We were so lacking in storage space that I had to keep my suits inside my hanging bag (see the attached photo) This, in turn, necessitated lots of ironing. Then- if matters couldn't get worse, my wife broke out in a rash around her ankles. (see attached photo) We went to see the local pharmacist who quickly diagnosed "flea bites". How could this be possible??- the only place where my wife hadn't been wearing her knee-high boots was in our hotel room. Draw your own conclusions. But for us- the term "Flea bag hotel" seems reasonable. Lastly- be aware that the hotel offers free lobby coffee in the morning only. Had the receptionist alerted us to this fact we could have avoided paying $8 (USD) per cup via room service. read more
