If it were possible to give no stars I would do so. This salon was part of a health fair held at my apartment complex. They offered a services for a reasonable price to tenants in the building. I scheduled an appointment for April 4. Very early I received a text telling me they did not want to give me a pedicure for some made up resons. They have never seen my feet yet they had comments about my feet that were far from accurate. There was a link to schedule with anothr nail tech and they canceled that appointment too. I had a back and forth discussion with the owner who told me to see a podiatrist. I told her I already have and he said to get a pedicure which is why I made the appointment. I do not think they wanted to honor their original price and decided to cancel my appointment as they may have booked a full price client. I have made an appointment elsewhere with no issues. read more

I'm not the first to give a review for wedding hair, but that shouldn't surprise you if you do even the most cursory glance at other reviews here. I had a hair trial here and had a good experience with Kelly. I wanted a second hair trial, ostensibly to try extensions, but also because I wanted to see even more styles (by that, I mean different types of soft waves and such). Each time was a blast. I am particular about my hair but am also very interested in hair in general, seeking advice from hairstylists and trying to incorporate their ideas into my own daily hair routine. Kelly understood this quickly and easily, and she was very descriptive about different styles and how she was making each of them happen. She is the nicest hair stylist I have ever had in over 30 years on this earth. Period. She could get along with anyone and is passionate, kind, and ready to make you feel great. The wedding prep itself was also very easy and fun with Kelly and Nikki. My bridesmaids who worked with Nikki seemed to enjoy the process. They got the exact hairstyles they wanted and/or sought her ideas for what to do. Everyone's styles looked magazine-ready and stayed that way for hours upon hours. I felt similarly with Kelly's styles for me and for others getting ready. They also were easy to talk to and very kind, fitting right into the joyful atmosphere. It was clear that my friends and family had fun while being styled and felt confident after their hair was done! The salon itself is very New York - professional, sophisticated and cool. I say this because I'm from New York and get the same sense I get there - they are confidant and know hair technique. Leslie is excellent at balayage and bonus, an overall awesome person. She is dividing her time between Nashville and Chicago these days so be sure to make an advance appointment with her. I will mention that because the salon was busy, there seemed to be some small timing issues. For instance, I arrived on time for my appointment but waited 25 minutes. Also, I was pretty confused when I was asked during the shampoo whether I was being styled after the balayage. I said no and they changed my chair location and asked me what styling products I would like to use. So basically, I didn't know that not being styled meant that I had to blow dry my own hair, lol. I felt a little foolish? I mean, I've never left a salon and not had my hair dryed there but I guess if it saves me $45 then maybe I'm okay with it? Unsure. What also threw me off was that after my hair was shampooed, Leslie didn't check in to see if the balayage looked okay. It was only when I was at the counter checking out and the receptionist needed to see how much to charge, that Leslie came over to see if it looked okay when I was basically already out the door. Maybe this stemmed from the blow dry confusion because ultimately I decided to let it air dry since I was already running late to return back to work. read more

Josh fixed my hair! A few years ago, took some random salon up on a 50% off highlights deal and left the place stark-white hair (I kid you not, it had NO pigment to it). Needless to say, it was a COLOSSAL mistake. Luckily, I found Josh and booked him that next morning. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try based on the raving reviews. I requested an appointment on Yelp and they called me back within a few hours to set up an appointment. I received a warm welcome going in by the front desk guy, and he immediately took my coat. So far so great. I docked off a star because of the girl washing my hair. Now it's my first time here so I didn't know that the piece of clothing they gave me was actually a robe. When I looked confused, she just stood there looking at me impatiently. When my hair got caught in my cartilage piercing she just yanked it out. While drying my hair she also pulled so hard that I felt like my scalp was gonna get ripped off. Fortunately, my stylist Tina made the rest of the experience fantastic. She made great input on how my hair should be cut, and was super meticulous when cutting my hair. Definitely one of my favorite haircuts I've gotten. They even gave me a mini bottle of the Oribe texturizing spray! I'll definitely recommend the salon if you're in the Gold Coast area. Nicole Passolano (stylist) and Lo Vitalo (colorist) have been working wonders on my hair for six years! They are the BEST and I have referred multiple friends to both and everybody always loves their work. Nicole knows my hair so well and I usually turn to her to pick my latest cut - seriously, I let her do whatever she wants and I have never regretted her judgment. I recently went more blonde with Lo and received a ton of compliments - I am naturally brunette and the way she worked the blonde in looks so natural! I can't say enough great things about Renee Feldman Salon and Nicole Passolano! I followed Nicole when she left her previous salon and I'm so glad that I did. She cuts my hair in a way that allows me to wear it how it air dries and it also looks great when styled. She also does an amazing blow out that I can't replicate no matter how hard I try. My priority was definitely how my hair and make up would look, but I also wanted good, fun people around me on my wedding day. Not only did they do such a beautiful job, but they were so easy to work with and completely laid back.
