I don't trust anyone with my hair after seeing her; I always walk out of the salon looking my best. Pricing is fair, it reflects the hard work the stylist put into making your hair beautiful. The interior style of the salon is so chic and it's always so clean which is super important for any salon. I love the products they use, I'm not too sure of the exact name/brand of everything but it makes my hair feel and smell amazing. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone. read more

Cut doesn't look like an expensive cut ( 70.00) little detail and felt like he was in a hurry and just didn't care alot. Found a young master stylist at ultra in the northeast phila. Blew out my hair and added point cuts and very light baby layers through the crown ( the mark of a really good cut) please don't ask an ordinary hair stylists ( ordinary- little education) to do this. Point is I spent $$ for a great cut and it was just alright. Looked pretty good for 2 weeks. Meh read more

Absolute worst !!! I have been going to this salon since November John my stylist was the best ! He just left last week they called and told me Matthew would be taking over I have very difficult hair issues and insisted on Renee the owner to do my hair and she Refused So I let Matthew do it and I was horrified by the color I got I only needed a touchup how hard could that be I just got gorgeous highlights that were not cheap last month and after Matthew did my touchup 5 shades too dark all my gorgeous blonde IS RUINED I don't actually Blame Matthew since he didn't know my hair I blame Renee for refusing to do my hair She is the owner and that is just not good business I would never recommend ! read more

Miranda (hair) and Tori (makeup) were so awesome to work with and did a great job on my hair and makeup and my bridal party's hair. They were both so professional and I was so impressed with Miranda's experience with handling weddings. We had the stylists come to our hotel for the wedding day, but I went into the salon for my trial so I can also comment on how beautiful the salon is and how friendly all of the staff is! Such a great salon. I started out as a client of Renee, the owner, she has always been very consistent with application and styling. She is also considerate of the clients time. Recently I was asked to become part of the team at Renee's and I have to say a few things. Being in the industry for over 12 years the clientele here is the best, some have been with Renee for 20 years and others just a few. She keeps them happy by really listening and comforting them. She is passionate about her work and is here for the love of the industry. The salon is beautiful with a happy staff and a friendly atmosphere. Not only do we greet every client at the door offering beverages, we have the most relaxing shampoo in town and offer specials for every event. Specializing in the Lanza color line (all natural), modern styling, keratin treatment,and makeup done by a true artist. Salon prices are supposed to be less than other salons (Supposedly but their prices after second and third time are the same as most salons. Went 3 times and the 2nd and 3rd time the stylist (the owner i might add) was almost half hour late and then had an attitude when my hair didn't come out the way i wanted which was becuase she didn't have the time to check the color or let me explain how i wanted my cut. The biggest issue - they don't offer their knowledge. If you get foils and then go back 4 weeks later all you should need is a toner or rinse to take out the Brassiness. But toners or rinses are not the same price as foils so she bleached my hair again - now it's like straw. Major attitude and not that experienced or they just want to charge as much as they can each visit. This salon is Not worth risking your hair color / cut and prices are not cheaper than most smaller salons!!!! And owner has a bad attitude!! JC read more

Their keratin treatments are fabulous and much more reasonable than comparable salons. I will continue to get my treatments there, but I won't let them cut my hair again. The Renee Foxx Salon is seriously as good as it gets. I had the new CHI keratin treatment on my hair and I have never dreamed that my hair could be so great. First, the frizz is GONE, Second, I can blow dry my new soft and healthy hair in 1/2 the time for REAL. I have had every keratin treatment around (Brazilian, Coppola, Simply smooth etc..) and they all claim to do these things and they always fall way short. But this is totally different AND the best part was that it was $75 !!! The prices are almost ridiculously good (for the quality of service received) and I have not even mentioned the hair cut and the eyebrow guy AND the make up people. I go to Renee and she is a master at cutting hair and teaching how to blow it out to make the style work for you. Did I mention her highlighting skills. She and her staff attend the latest hairshows and are VERY updated. She is also GREAT at make up (is there nothing she can't do?) I agree with the other reviewer that the eyebrow guy talks a lot but he is super passionate about what he does. And my eyebrows look better than ever and are super low mantience. I had a facial by him and I would give it 5 stars too. He is the real deal too. The products he uses are all organic and well priced too. I used to go to Toppers in town for facials and now I can have the same level of service for 1/3 of the price and it's local. The guy who washes hair (Anthony) really does have magic hands. I love the head massage I get (sometimes, I actually fall asleep - he takes his time if you ask!) Over all, The Renee Foxx Salon is a PLEASURE. The atmosphere is friendly and laid back but still feels stylish and cool. There is no fakeness or snobbery, everyone (from the girl taking appts at the front desk, to the hair washing guy to Renee) is NICE NICE NICE! I love going there and my hair and skin have never looked better. I have really never had such a positive salon experience (And I have always gone to high end salons - Pileggi, Thunder, Adolf Bieker...) One more thing. Rachel gives great cuts for kids. If I could, I would give this salon 0 stars. Miranda, my hairdresser today, over processed my hair.....now that would not have been so bad if clumps of my hair didn't start falling out. She didn't seem to understand because her cure-all was Olaplex, and that shouldn't have happened because she added Olaplex in my hair. I did not even get the color I desired, my hair is gummy and so beyond damaged (mind you I had incredibly healthy hair before walking into this salon). She should not have had 3 clients all in one sitting because she was not focused on my hair at all, instead she was rushing around trying to fit in all three clients all in one time slot. I had an appointment with Miranda yesterday and every single experience with her is great. All I have to do is show her a picture of what I want my hair to look like and she always delivers. Although she had three appointments booked, she was able to manage them. Unfortunately I witnessed another girl who had an over processing experience which seemed to roll-over from a previous coloring experience from how and where the breakage occurred. Regardless, Miranda was professional and courteous. Even after the dilemma, she was able to finish my hair and the other client (without any drama). I apparently had a higher volume of bleach in my hair and I didn't not have any negative reaction to it. I was so pleased with my cut and color, as I always am. I recently spoke with the owners of Renee Foxx about what happened on my wedding day and I feel the need to write a clarification of my previous review. Apparently Gia never informed anyone at the salon that she had booked my wedding. It seems she was attempting to keep it off the books for whatever reason. Management had no idea what happened until they saw my review on the site. Gia not only did not tell management, but she told the other girl who was supposed to show up that she could handle it on her own that didn't need her to come. Gia no longer works at this salon. She was let go before I even wrote this review so that just shows there were definite problems with her. The owners assured me that had I talked to them (rather than Gia) they would have made sure she was there on time, or else they would have sent someone else. I do not fault the salon for Gia's performance. With no knowledge of the situation that had no way to manage it, either. I appreciate them reaching out to me in this matter. It shows that they are very professional and care about their business and clients. read more

I followed my stylist who relocated to Renee Fox. My stylist is still the same, she's super friendly and fun (Chrissy). I have never had color, but I loved my hair cuts and Keratin treatments. It is very expensive. I did have a discrepancy in price the last time I was there. The woman who scheduled my appointment and gave me the pricing info was very off, by about $50. So I am not sure who's fault that was! The "eyebrow guy" is really great at his job! Loved my brows. BUT beware- he will sell you hard. He talked me into their new line of organic makeup and then said he had one tube left of my color... well, it was the powder and brush he used to test the color out on my face AND the girl before me! Ewww! I didn't realize this ($60 by the way) until I got home. And to top it off, it was not my color at all! I should have just gone right back the next day, but I procrastinated and ended up selling the makeup later to someone who liked the color. Last note, the guy who washes your hair- amazing hands!!! All in all, I am going back for Chrissy. She does a good job and she is down to earth- not snobby! In fact, I am making an appointment with her right now for some winter bangs!! read more

I chose the Renee Foxx Salon for my hairdo and makeup, for my recent wedding. I was told that the makeup person would be an experienced professional, who would come to the Salon to do my makeup application. There was a $35.00 deposit required. The total cost for a makeup application was to be $85.00. When I arrived, on the day of my wedding, I learned my makeup would be done by an apprentice of the salon, someone who is still a student in beauty school and still learning. Fortunately, I brought a new supply of good quality dept store makeup. The makeup application was going dreadfully slow, and it was obvious to me that this person lacked experience. She kept disappearing into the backroom, including the time she was to return with makeup remover to fix an eyeshadow blunder she had made. She returned with coconut oil and foam makeup applicators with which to remove the blunder. In between applying my makeup, she shampooed other hairdresser's clients, and kept disappearing in the back room. Her terminology was all wrong, too. She stated that the décolletage is the area between the chin and upper neck, when it is, in fact the entire cleavage area, neck, shoulders back and chest. When I disagreed with her wrong definition, she argued. I brought my own eyelashes. When she glued on the eyelashes, my eyelids became glued shut. Needed to pry my eyes apart! She refused to apply eyeliner first. I explained that my makeup needed to be camera-ready, as there were going to be many photos taken. The makeup person was clueless as to what "camera ready"meant. I found myself teaching her. Once, after she had deserted me for a good length of time, I walked to the back room, where she was and I could hear another employee lecturing her on how to do her job. "YOU tell her what YOU'RE going to do" I had better results with my hairdo. My hair reaches my shoulders. I was initially quoted a fee of $75.00, which later was changed to" $75.00 and up. My hair was done so the veil stayed in place, during the entire wedding, for which I was grateful. The makeup experience was frustrating. The makeup person needs to continue practicing in the classroom and in the school's clinic, where she can be supervised. A salon should not charge a client $85.00 for makeup application from an inexperienced, un-trained student. I believe the salon charges are assigned, based upon how much money the salon can get away with charging each individual. read more
