I was referred to her by my insurance. I called her to set up an appointment. As soon as she found out I was a Medi-cal patient she declined to treat me and rudely hung up on me. That's such a shitty thing to do to a person needing help. I HAVE insurance and I'm sure she gets paid for Medi-cal patients. It's already bad enough to have to be on Medi-cal but when people refuse to treat/help you based on it, it's an especially shitty feeling. Shame on you Renee, if you had other reasons for declining care to Medi-cal patients you should have made them clear before hanging up on someone. read more

I started seeing Renee a month ago and it is very easy to talk to her. She listens, gives good advice and understands my issue. Renee is very straight forward with her advise, which I like and need, but is challenging at the same time.The office is quiet and very comfortable as well as Renee gives you a comforting feeling. She accepts insurance and parking is easy. I'm glad I found her and I'm pretty sure that I will see her for a while to work on my issues. I found Dr. Sperling through my insurance. It was my first time doing therapy and it was such a terrible experience that after I left the appointment I started crying. She made me feel incompetent and foolish for even trying to get help. She clearly didn't want to be there. She offered no guidance or structure, and because it was my first time I wasn't really sure how anything worked. There were a lot of awkward silences, not to mention she was condescending and judgmental. I went to Dr. Sperling for eight weeks. Her 45 minute sessions were incredible and cheesy as it sounds, absolutely life changing. Ask my co-workers, friends and parents I am a happier person now than I was two months ago. Dr. Sperling is funny, caring a great listener and gives honest feedback and pragmatic advice. In one of our 45 minute sessions she managed to help me get over an incident that had been bothering me for over ten years. Renee's approach is simple and it works. She listens to you, agrees with you and validates you and somehow that validation helps you get over your issue. I would and have recommended Renee. It was relatively by chance that our paths crossed, and I think the bottom line here is that she has played a significant role in changing my life for the better. She was disorganized and had me fill ppw out before and during our session, although it could've all been done at one time. That session wasn't too promising, but decided to give her another chance. Thereafter, she made inappropriate comments as she had forgotten/didn't care to read up on the notes she took before. We sat in silence many times as she wasn't the best in engaging in convo.
