AMAZING...JUST AMAZING Come have Appetizers Lunch and Dinner this Weekend BECAUSE ITS THAT GOOD (Specials change weekly AND they often have a band on the weekends)

Wow! We just happened into Renegade today, and I am so glad we did. The patio was super cute, and very dog friendly. I was also so excited to see how many good gluten free options there were...and they actually tasted good! Their wines are equally as delicious...my favorites were the Pinotage, Tempranillo, and Mixed Breed Red. The service was awesome, and everyone is super friendly. We will definitely be back on our next trip!

    Coney Island chowder. Bomb!

What an awesome place! Much more open and larger than what the pics reflect. Def going back when they have live music in the evening! Great menu, crazy good service. Tammy was a sweetheart and the owners Sue and Mark were very engaging and down to earth. Their red chowder was bomb! We got their grilled catfish taco special and it was way better than ww anticipated. Very much looking forward to coming back and trying their other menu items like the tri tip stuff. Thanks you two, can't wait for many more returns!

A big shout out to Sue and Renegade Winery in Mokelumne (Moke) Hill. Great food, generous portions and awesome service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A gem of a place on the corner of town with ample, comfortable seating outside and inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Well worth a stop if you're passing through or live in the vicinity. The owner, Sue, greeted us with a big smile despite the fact that power was out and staff was short. Although they no longer make wine, they do still sell it and other local wines. Two of us had the French dip, one had a cheeseburger and the other had a BLT. All four of us were very happy with our meals. We also enjoyed our ice cold beer. We live in Angels Camp and will return!

a plate of food and a glass of wine

Went to this amazing little winery yesterday to have lunch with some friends and wine taste. The owners are very nice. Sue was such a gem., she makes wine tasting fun and is very informative as to how they got started to the knowledge of their wines. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great! I loved all the pictures and decor. It's right in the middle of town and I plan on taking my daughter next time. This place would be great for first time wine tasters. They also have beer as well for the beer drinkers out there. They have live bands come out which I would like to go see next time. Go check them out their awesome!! Thanks again Sue!! Fortunately, we remembered passing a sign for Indigeny Reserve and saw on the map that it was within walking distance. Since it was already after 3pm and they closed at 5pm, we decided to drive over and make the most of our afternoon before they closed. When we walked in, the building was empty, but we were eager to try a cider tasting. Browsing the shop, we found a variety of merchandise--shirts, hats, sweaters, and an assortment of cheeses, crackers, chips, and other tasty treats. Eventually, a friendly staff member greeted us and offered the $10 tasting. Since closing time was approaching, she joked about giving us paper cups to avoid running the dishwasher. We didn't mind, but she kindly served the cider in glasses, which made the experience nicer. She also offered a whiskey tasting in a cool room lined with barrels and tables, plus gift boxes and other products. The whiskey tasting was just $2, with three varieties to sample. I'm not much of a whiskey fan, but I appreciated that she wasn't rushing us out. Both of us loved the Blackberry cider, so we each ordered a glass to enjoy outside. The outdoor area is expansive, with wooden benches, tables, and lawn chairs scattered across a grassy lawn overlooking a large vineyard. Only a few couples and families lingered--likely because of the early closing time. After relaxing with our ciders, we wandered down the trail to the lake. Along the way, we discovered old barns, a whimsical gnome area, and several upside-down boats tied up near the shore. If the boats hadn't been secured, we joked about taking one out for a row on the lake! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Indigeny Reserve and, in retrospect, wished we had brought the teens along. Still, it made for a wonderful little date.

This place is 100% a passion project/labor of love run by two of the most lovely, interesting people you will ever meet. The tasting room is in a hidden little alcove off Main Street, their hours are ??? (Saturday seems most reliable) and they don't charge for tastings except the port. There's nowhere else in Murphy's that does a full-gamut port tasting as far as I'm aware, and it's incredible. If you have never tasted a delicious, mystifying port while the (French) winemaker and his (German) wife pop quiz you about the tasting notes with expectant, mischievous expressions, you haven't really lived. They also make the best Viognier in town by a massive margin (it tastes like flowers and stonefruit without being sweet at all and I compare every other Viognier to this now). I've taken my mom here. I've taken my grandparents here. I've taken all my friends here. If I'm in Murphy's with someone who has never been here, I assume it is my duty to spread the good word, and now I'm spreading it to Yelp too.

It is a modest winery set back up on a hill. It is a gorgeously isolated location. The winery has a philosophy of less is more.
