Our turnaround point was Salvation Mountain, right next to Slab City. Before going, I had read about Leonard Knight and the story behind the mountain, which honestly made the visit more meaningful. The dedication and message behind it are almost as interesting as the site itself. It is kind of amazing that the structure still stands today and is in such solid condition. The drive out was mostly fine, though hot and dusty, especially on a Saturday afternoon. I would recommend going earlier in the day if possible. The mountain itself looked better maintained than I expected. The colors were bright, and it was clear that ongoing work is being done to preserve it. I left a small donation since it felt like a meaningful effort to support. That said, it did not fully resonate with me. While I can appreciate the effort and story, the style of art and the surrounding environment did not quite click. If you are into outsider art or off grid communities, you will probably get more out of it than I did. The biggest downside is the immediate setting. Being next to Slab City definitely impacts the experience. The vibe felt a bit uncomfortable at times, and we did not stay long or continue on to East Jesus. Overall, I am glad I visited. It is unique, and the story behind it adds depth, but it is more of a one time stop for me than a place I would go out of my way to revisit. 3 stars.

I spoke with both Andrea and Alex, who were wonderful, extremely professional, and patient. They walked me through the process and had the poster ready for pickup in 2.5 hours!!!!!! I had called other companies but none were able to move so quickly. The poster was EXACTLY what I needed, super high quality, neatly executed. The image was clear, true to color, and the surface and edges were perfectly smooth. The price was reasonable and competitive, with no rush charge! Maybe I caught them at the right moment, but having my poster ready so incredibly rapidly was a total lifesaver, allowing me to give a more complete presentation. I wish there were more companies like this, with great products and humane customer service. I will definitely use their services in the future but try to give them more advance notice!!

The store is large with so many different areas. And not all just for crafts. The first thing is a seasonal section-they were starting to put up Valentine's Day decorations and candies. The flower area was beautifully filled with silk and fake flowers. They had a large jewelry area with all manner for jewelry making. HINT: Sign up online for coupons. The 40% is common and I've even seen a 50% before. Also, things go on sale and clearance. Check those out! I recommend and would go back to Michael's for any decoration or craft items. The place is neat & clean and service is good. The only negative is how crazy busy they get and the line can be long-though, it does go fast!

We were surprised to see that a new Five Below location had opened in El Centro when we visited…read morelast week. In the past we used to visit the one in the other part of town, closer to their mall. This one is perfectly located on your way to Imperial and the county fairgrounds. We stopped in and loved seeing all of their newest merchandise. More Sanrio items than we had seen in other stores and plenty of Funko Pops and great electronics. The service was incredible. We were greeted at the door and even had someone help us check out. Of course, the value is just like their other stores. I bought a mini Funko Pop of Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars which is a Five Below exclusive figure. My wife found some really cool items for herself, and we both can't wait to stop back in for more great deals.
