12/31/19 UPDATE/RESPONSE- the office addresses things in a timely manner? LOL! New landlord has been reaching out since 12/01/19 with no response (office chose not to cooperate). Intent to vacate has been turned in since 12/08/19 and not one person from the office has responded back about prorated rent for January, move out process, etc. Since 12/19/19 they have been aware they are illegally charging our unit more occupants than what live here, yet still as of this morning the bill is incorrect on the portal and still reflects 3 occupants. I've done my part by contacting the water company the same day and it's been up the office since then, but as with everything they're ignoring it. I'll have to keep contacting the water company, the water company then sends the request to the office to change it back to 2 occupants even though the office is the one who incorrectly entered 3! It's the most ridiculous system and you can tell there's seriously something wrong with it when our complex name is "Renew on York" but the water bill says were "Renew at York". Just another example of the unorganization of this place. It's honestly laughable at this point. Cannot wait to be done with this place for good!!! read more

This place charges a $65 application fee, kinda steep, but whatever, and a $250 "administrative fee" to set up your lease and everything upon approval. They hold the admin fee up front with the promise to refund it if you are denied. I applied for an apartment, heard nothing for a week, which was disconcerting since I needed to move in a few weeks. Followed up multiple times by email and phone, no response. I was forced to look elsewhere so that I would have a place to live. I wrote in response to my several unanswered emails letting them know nevermind, I no longer wish to pursue my application. Apparently that got the manager's attention, because she quickly responded that the admin fee was nonrefundable, then processed it through as a finalized transaction to my account. I asked for a refund and she said there were no refunds, despite the fact that the application had not even been completed, and 0 administrative services had been provided. She said refunds were only provided in the event of a denied application. Since then my application has in fact been denied for missing information (which I obviously did not provide since I no longer wanted to live there). They are STILL refusing to refund the $250. I should be asking for the full $315 back, and think I am being more than reasonable only asking for the $250 back. If you look at various apps and reviews you will learn that the management of the building is systematically unresponsive, and that their rental application scam "administrative fee" has ripped off more than just me. Also seems like they must be in some state of disrepair with constant need for maintenance. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Update: I did email feedback@trinity-pm.com as suggested by the business reply, and the issue is still not addressed. I only get bot replies from that email. The property generated a "move out notice" with a $0 balance and fraudulent lease start and end dates as if I had been approved and signed a lease, rather than denied. This is taking a turn from poor customer service toward fraud. Update 2: To date no human being has contacted me in response to my multiple emails. I did receive a form email with an attachment indicating I would receive a check "soon" in refund of the $250 and asking for a forwarding address. I sent my forwarding address, and of course no human being has responded to that. I will update if/when the refund ever comes. read more

Do not rent with this company. They are unprofessional, and have abusive billing practices. I signed an addendum to my lease lowering my move out payment by $1000. After I moved out, the $1000 reduction was not included in the move-out bill. They said that the lease addendum was rejected. They said it "wasn't approved by corporate" even though it was signed by both the property manager, and myself. After speaking with both their central billing office and the property about 5 times each, they would not change the bill. Neither the central billing office nor the property claimed to have the authority to change it. I would have taken them to small claims court, but I moved out of the area. These criminals were going to send it to collections. Do not rent with them. You will lose your money, your time and your patience. read more

The apartments are run down. The place is a dump. Management is non-existent. You cant engage with management. They are "locked down" because of Covid. Even if you wear a mask you cant enter their office. The apartments are old and not updated. I have counter tops falling apart. The faces of my cabinets are warped. They just out of the blue added more utility charges! (an extra $30 not included in the monthly bill. The monthly utility bill is over $100) The people in the office are vile and abusive. This WAS a great place to live at. New management are human scum. I wanted multiple things repaired. ALWAYS = no. My counter tops? They are sagging and their particle board crap if falling apart. Same with the vanity. The faces of my cabinets are peeling away. They "replaced" the stove dip trays... only HALF work now. The other half are tilted 20 degrees which means I cant even cook. AND if you use the oven... The smoke alarm goes off with just common dishes. Also, you cant smoke in your own apartment, you cant have a gas grille nor a electric grille. The kitchen sucks. Good afternoon, I'm so excited to have the maintance guy Issy on the Renew on York team. When I first saw him it was on the 4th floor of my building 100 he smiled and said hello. He was vacumming and mopping the floors and carpet were so fresh and clean everyday. He's so kind, polite, and courteous alway's smiling and speaking whenever you see him. So what is up with the rats by the dumpsters at night? I lived at Yorkbrook for exactly 20 years and never even saw a mouse, let alone a rat. I have visited a friend on 3 separate occasions and each time saw numerous big rats. It appears that they need a garbage pick up twice a week? There is food and filth strewn all around. I moved into Renew on York, formally known as Yorkbrook, in 2018. Let me start off by saying, just like any apartment complex all they want is money. They do not care about the people living there and paying their salaries. For the first year or so we had a lot of problems with our neighbors. Whether that be loud music or yelling between the hours of 12am-4am. It was constant. I was told I had to call the police and keep reporting it and they did nothing about the neighbors, UNTIL I got a hold of the property manager and he did fine them. This went on for months before it escalated to the right person. When we first signed dogs were not allowed on the property, then after a few years they accepted them, which is fine. However, anytime you open a door to the hallway all you will smell is pee or poop. It would physically make me ill. That mixed with the poor handling of the trash shoot. They send out emails stating people would be fined, if caught, but from 2019-2022 nothing ever changed. The only thing that changed was the amount of rats that decided to make a home there, due to the negligence of the dumpsters and trash shoot. HUGE rats, by the way. Speaking of unwelcome visitors, I knew there were going to be cases of spiders, ants or even centipedes; I was not expecting MONTHS of having a cockroach problem. They had a service provider come and spray a few times, but it never got rid of the issue. It wasn't until they decided to hire a new company that they figured out my DOWNSTAIRS neighbors had a NEST of cockroaches. I have pictures and email correspondences of this issue, where the office staff basically called me a liar. I had to throw out a new keurig, microwave, personal items, etc because they were deciding to hide in these items. I was credited $100, only to have a bonus bill from an "unpaid may utility bill." Let's be honest, if I did not pay a month of utilities they would have come for me a lot sooner than two months after the fact. If you try to call the office for any reason you will be sent to an offsite center and will rarely get a call back. If you are lucky in getting a call back from the office, they will be extremely rude to the point you do not want to call anymore. I spent weeks cleaning and taking care of an apartment I lived in for 4 years and they decided to not give me my deposit back. The reason: they had to paint the walls. Which they would have done anyway before new renters moved in. Not only did they take my security deposit of $475, they're charging me $15 extra. For what reason, I am not sure. They are nothing but crooks and lie about almost everything. There is no smoking on the premises, yet I mentioned how my neighbors were smoking on the balcony, I have emails to verify, and they still continued to do it. The "grounds keeper" smokes huge cigars and has company over that smoke. Seems as if they were playing favorites. As far as the laundry goes, it's a mess. There are a lot of machines, half of them do not work or someone left their garbage in the washer or dryer. It went from having to insert quarters to downloading an app that rarely worked. Some tenants would use all of the machines, the ones that were working, at one time. Leaving the rest of the six floors of tenants without a washer for a while. It was a fight to the death each time and no set rules were made for this type of situation. They charge you for renters insurance, which came about the last year I was living there. You need to have a parking sticker they provide or they will tow your car. DO NOT have any visitors over after 11pm or their car will get towed. You get a few visitor parking passes, but you have to have them put it on their car before 11pm, even if they're only staying a little later than that. Overall, my 4 years of living here was really unpleasant. I would NEVER recommend this place, not even to my worst enemy. All the "good" reviews have not lived on the property for more than a few months, I can guarantee that. I could go on and on, but I figure this is a lot to read. Just do not rent here. read more

I still live here and there has been some good, but more bad. We like to get packages from amazon, but they don't ever take packages to the Parcel Pending lockers, but instead to the address (or someone else's, depending on the building). Once we get notified with imagery that our packaged been delivered, we head downstairs to see that it's been stolen. Sometimes just MINUTES after receiving the notification. Renew NEEDS to install cameras so that people will be less likely to steal. If you only knew the feeling that you can't trust the place where you live and feel helpless and taken advantage of, you would hate place this too. read more

For the most part, living here is ok. Great location and amenities. Friendly staff and Maintenance staff. A lot of the updates have been great too. The management office just needs to address people that are stealing from their neighbors. I had personal property stolen off my door as well as MANY packages go missing. We have parcel lockers but none of the carriers that deliver here are using them and they just drop the packages in the room in front of the lockers so you hope you can get there before the thief runs off with your package. It's sad that I can't trust my neighbors. So if you move here, make sure you invest in a PO Box so you can have your packages in a secure location. Because until this is addressed, you may be as frustrated as I am that my packages are not even able to get to me because someone in this complex feels entitled to steal from you. read more

Update after reply from property manager. My review is not going away, when I tried to talk to your staff I was Crying, you read right... CRYING ! Because it was to much to handle and the lady told me that if I don't calm down she was going to hung up then, I asked her "what's your name" and she said "you better calm down!" and hung up the phone. Also, after my car was tow because the management team fail to provide me a proper parking passes for 2 months, Yes... 2 months ! And they were good to take my $250 moving fee+ $25 application fee; they were unable to add me on the lease. someone hit my car in the parking lot and there was not action from this people. I asked them if there was cameras and they said "no". How can you be secure in a place with over 100 people without any security?! I call so many times and no help was given to me. Even after I was in so much despair for all the trauma this place cause me after having a surgery and be with a new born. ALSO !!! They have the water bill divided into all the units. so if the water comes to be $2000 and there is $20 units they would charge $100 per unit. Well let me tell you there is a lady who has a business doing laundry for other people. She does laundry every day, loads and loads, because she takes advantage of this service. So if you only did one load the whole month compared to this lady who does 10-20 loads a day; you are going paying $100 for the water like her. When the pandemic started they only had working 3 washers and 3 dryers. In the middle of the PANDEMIC THEY HAD MORE THAN 15 PEOPLE WAITING IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM FOR THEIR TURN TO USE THE WASHERS. When me and a the neighbors called to complain we were told the following " We are sorry we are in the middle of a pandemic and can't send a mechanic to fix it". Also, the machines that were working were breaking down one by one; no refunds were issue to tenants after we pay to use them and the machines stop working in the middle of the cycle. I also called because one time leaving the building (before wearing a mask was mandatory) a tenant yelled to my family, she did not ask, she yelled at us "Back up ! Back up! Six feet apart people !" We back up for respect then she look at us and notice our stroller and said "Disgusting! You guys don't have a mask and you guys have a baby ?!!!! I'm calling child services on you two!" When I called the management in the building to let them know who it was the person and in which unit she live. They told me the following "WELL WE ARE SORRY THAT HAPPENED TO YOU BUT WHAT OTHER TENANT SAY OR NOT TO YOU IS NOT OUR PROBLEM AND THERE IS NOTHING WE CANT DO ABOUT IT " So, if a random person comes to me saying "I'll kill you" there is nothing this people can't do even if that person is living next to you. I hate it this place and I'm happy we left as soon as we could. The psychological distress I got from this people was too much I could handle. I was crying everyday because I was calling and calling and they would pretty much tell me to F*** off! But they were good to take our rent money which we always paid ONTIME ! Also, after we left we were charge about $300 cleaning fee because the apartment was full of mold when it was not even our fault. You want to fix things I need a refund of $280 for the time my car was tow in the parking lot because I was not given the proper parking permits. I want a refund of $25 from all the times the washing machine stop working while we were using them and we were never refunded (all times it was reported). I want a refund of the cleaning fee that was charge to us because that apartment was disgusting from the mold growing everywhere not from us. I want $1,000 from the damages my car received after being crashed in your premises. The visit to the hospital after my baby got an allergic reaction from the pets hair in washing/dryers machines from other tenants and the packages I received and were stolen. I call so many times the main office crying because I didn't know what to do and I was told there was nothing they could do in their end. I have all the photos, even recordings of conversations on the phone with the staff and bills of all the times; I lose money. I contacted the staff every time I encounter an issue. One time I spoke with a man that said he was the owner of the building but most likely he was another employee pretending to be the owner to get rid of me. (I live in that building for ONLY 8 months, I move after my partner was there already for 4 months... I was not even there for a year and I suffer more adversities) I'm going to make this public in Facebook, Twitter, google, Yelp , anywhere to keep people away from this place. The only good thing about this place is that the area is nice. Other than that DO NOT RENT HERE. I've had guests' cars towed twice: once bc the parking pass was filled out in pencil, another time bc the parking pass wasn't filled out "properly" despite having my guest's name, signature and date on it. They half-ass tell tenants the rules, so when you get lucky and get by thinking you're following the rules, you're actually not. Don't even get me started on maintenance. I've been waiting on my den doors to be fixed for well over a month now, and counting. When someone finally showed up to fix my doors, he'd ADMITTED that his boss instructed him to come to my unit with the WRONG doors. When they unsurprisingly didn't fit, he informed me that I'd have to wait another 2 weeks for the proper doors to come because they had to be ordered. WHY WOULD THEY PURPOSELY GIVE ME THE WRONG DOORS AND EXPECT ME TO BE OK WITH IT? And if you're wondering, yes, it has been over 2 weeks since then. They care more about following rules than being understanding of tenants' situations, even when you think you're following the rules. On top of maintenance doing whatever, whenever the hell they want when it comes to repairs. My roommate and I pay too much rent ON TIME to be dealing with such minuscule rule technicalities and inconsideration. Would definitely not recommend. Only 18 days later, I have yet another issue with this place: DO NOT get packages delivered here. Even if you pay the fee to have packages delivered to a lockbox, you better pray the postal workers adhere to the rules and follow directions. Or in my particular case, that the lockbox system isn't down. Otherwise, your package will be left on the floor and at risk of being stolen. There are cameras, but do managers utilize them to catch possible thieves? OF COURSE NOT! For reasons they can't disclose other than "it's our policy", they won't allow tenants to review footage of their cameras, even when there's reason to believe a crime has been committed. I have been searching for this package for 3 days now and NOTHING. They've shrugged off any and all responsibility to the postal carrier, which is total bs if their system is supposedly down. I'm convinced this place doesn't care about its tenants whatsoever, and give this complex a -10/10. read more

This is a wonderful place to live and I feel really valued as a tenant. When i caught ill, Amanda (the assistant property manager) was patient, professional, and kind. She worked with me and even was resourceful to my needs. I am a tenant that is consistent with paying my rent on time and just got sick. I lived here with my family for about 10-13 years, I thought it was gonna be a good change once the new management took over but no they was worst than the original management group. Maintenance team short staffed and over worked, in my last year or so we stop requesting repairs because we were not getting any response back. At the time we moved here they was very competitively priced for a 2 bedroom 2 bath, however this property is not a final destination, I am so glade we were finally able to purchase a home and get out of there. Trust me it's poorly managed, I have seen multiple potential tenants come and look at the property but they never take them by stairs because it smells like piss. The office never answer the phone or return calls. Not to mention I was charged prorated rent for 3 days without any prior notice. read more

Today I went to my car and while walking down the hallway I smelled pine sol and fresh cleaning scents, Izzy is hands down the greatest janitor that has been cleaning the buildings I been here 10+ years and I have not seen not one janitor take the time to clean the buildings as Izzy does he does not clean these buildings like its job but rather its his home for whatever reason when new management took over they stopped him from cleaning the buildings as he once did but whenever he has certain things to do in my building it is heaven scent I don't know what the new cleaning people are doing when they are supposed to be cleaning but they are not cleaning like Izzy was doing PLEASE BRING IZZY BACK FULLTIME CLEANING THE BUILDINGS!!!!!@ read more

This used to be a much better place to live before new management took over. Things have just plummeted. My husband and I have been living in the community for 3 years and are ready to move at this point. Packages are constantly going missing all of a sudden, new management seems more interested in updating the outside of the buildings instead of focusing on the inside of the apartments, as they are terribly out of date. We had never had any issues before then all of sudden received a lease violation notice for having our foldable patio furniture folded on the patio, lol. Somehow folded patio furniture was causing an issue, received another violation notice for having a shovel on the patio, all petty things. Yet, when you submit a maintenance request it's weeks before they will respond and you have to argue with staff who is trying to yell over you while you are stating what needs to be fixed in your unit. The maintenance guys are great when they do come though. They updated the washing area to coin-less and I wish I could say this was an upgrade. However, this is a huge headache, you have to use a WASH-Connect app and the washing machines often do not pick up on the app. I stood in the laundry area for nearly 30 mins one day trying to get the app to connect with a machine. We are nearly at the end of our lease and have called the office several times trying to get the renewal notice to give ample notice of intent to move. Staff repeatedly advised we would get two months notice, here we are with less than 2 months to move and still haven't received anything. I would strongly advise to move elsewhere if you don't want to deal with pettiness. read more
