By that time, day 9 of vacation with my husband's side of the family and our children, my body, mind, and spirit needed a lot of work! I kept saying that I wished I would have found her sooner, but she patiently reminded me that I came when I was ready. I'm always in a rush to fix myself, but healing from Jamie felt very synchronized. It wasn't forced, it wasn't too much, it wasn't lacking. I was suffering from sciatica pains, a rotator cuff injury, as well as stress pain in my back and neck. The bodywork was just amazing. Jamie's knowledge of anatomy and Ayurveda help make sense of why I have pain in those areas, and hopefully how I can avoid that pain in the future. Thankfully, the therapist that I had was extraordinary - Christine. Since my knots have knots currently, she certainly had her work cut out for her. The couples massage takes place in the salt cave. What a lovely, zen space! I kinda want to move in.... I left there feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Christine warned me that I would be sore and to drink a lot of water. I was definitely sore - but a really good sore. I drank lots of water and clean iced herbal tea for the rest of the day. I feel fabulous today and I plan to book another massage within a reasonable amount of time to try and avoid getting into the physical mess that I'm in! FYI - they're still following covid protocols - which I personally think is great. Once in the salt cave, masks can be removed (but the therapists do keep them on currently). Other spas took appointments either over the phone (wouldn't pick up) or through email which wasn't easy, but the Saratoga Day Spa made it convenient to book it online for someone coming from the city like myself. Once entering the building it was located on the 2nd Floor. We were confused at first because the door sign said to ring the doorbell and wait outside. I found it easier to call them because they had other clients at the time. Once I called, they came out and got us. There are 2 bathroom keys hanging outside the door: one for women and for men. The facility was clean and spacious. My partner and I were led to the couple massage room for a swedish massage which was beautifully decorated with Christmas theme and cozy. They asked us if we wanted to focus on specific body parts and gave us time to get settled in the massage beds. I wanted more attention on my upper back shoulders and neck, which they delivered. There was a heating pad on the beds and you can adjust it yourself. They are very friendly, courteous and have good bedside manners. They offer you water before and after the massage.
