We made accommodations to have both homeowners off work and available for our appointment as requested by the company. They said it was an error in their online booking, but my guess is the sales rep was uninterested in driving over an hour from raleigh to our town. Renewal by Andersen has a good product and the sales people are very knowledgeable. However, the prices are ridiculous. We got four quotes and Renewal by Andersen was two to three times higher than any of the quotes from the other excellent companies. Also, the sales tactics are questionable. If you sign to today, you will get a discount. One manager said it is like any other one day sale, but it isn't at all like that. For other one day sales, you know the original price to compare it with the sales price, and you can look up the prices of similar items to see if it is a real deal. Renewal by Andersen says if you buy one window, you will get 40% off another window, but they won't tell you what the windows cost. Very screwy! There is no way to know if you are truly getting any of the discounts, because all the pricing is a huge secret. They are like the much reviled vacuum cleaner salesmen of the 1950s and 1960s or used car salesmen of old. Also, they wrap the old wood frames on wood windows. Is it a good idea to put a wrap on an old possibly rotting wood window frame? We don't think so. Andersen windows have been our family's favorite windows for decades, but the way they sell the Renewal by Andersen products is shameful. We know that they are franchises and maybe in some parts of the country they are better, but we don't know if they all follow the same stupid rules and awful sales technics. read more

We had 24 windows installed in our house and had a great experience from beginning to end. Ramon and his crew installed the windows and did a wonderful job. They were professional, polite and kind throughout the 2 day installation. The windows are high quality, and we already notice our air conditioning doesn't turn on as often as before. After a 3 hour presentation and researching the company we made the decision to contract with Renewal by Anderson to replace the We would not make the same decision again. The primary reasons are listed below: 1. Air seepage 2. Caulking on walls, on both inside the house and outside wall. 3. No key provided. During the 3 hour presentation, we were not informed that we would have to pay an additional fee for a key. 4. Trim not painted. We were informed that the door would not be painted. We were not expecting that the door be painted as it came with a color. No notice that the trim would be painted. 5. Poor communication Renewal with Anderson has communicated with us that a key will not be provided and the trim will not be painted. We are waiting for the other issues to be addressed. Do not be fooled by the other reviews. This company is absolutely atrocious and an absolute disgrace. This company dropped the ball in every aspect of our installation. 1) After initial meet (where we paid our down payment) we were told someone would be by our home within a few days, to measure out the windows and finalize the details of our window choices. -No one ever showed up. -WE had to call after TWO MONTHS of no word from anyone THEY HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT US We made a down payment, we signed paperwork for a new loan, and after that nothing. Essentially we were already paying for product and services that were never provided; the company had made their sale, had made their money, and their signed paperwork, so we were no longer a priority. 2) After finally reaching someone, two months later, they finally sent someone out. We agreed on the window options we had discussed with the contractor and all applicable fees. We were instructed to await a phone call within a few days to set-up our install date. -Guess what?! After over another month, NOTHING. -WE had to reach out to the company and ask why we hadn't received a phone call. Their response, "oh, we thought we were waiting to hear from you about a final decision on a window install." So you're telling me, this "reputable" company decided NOT to reach out to their customer whom they believed had questions about an install. They believed just leaving the client hanging out to dry was "good customer service." They didn't think to maybe ensure their customers questions or reservations about a project needed to be addressed. 3) After numerous phone calls, me and my partner had to make, to keep the "ball rolling" on our purchase, we finally had an install date. It only took SIX months, and a few reminders from us, their customers, to have the project completed. Before install date, of course at this point we were incredibly disappointed and were dealing strictly with a head customer service rep, she ensured us at the end of install we would speak with her on the phone during the final walk through. This was the time we could discuss with her any issues or concerns with the actual install, yeah that didn't happen. We were also told we would receive our final invoice within a few days. Do I have to tell you what happened next? We received nothing, not another word, email, NOTHING. Of course we reached out to the customer rep, April, and were clearly stated how incredibly dissatisfied we were with this entire process. We explained how we hadn't received our final invoice, so she ensured we would receive our final invoice from her at the end of the week, we spoke to her on a Monday. THREE weeks after our install date we hadn't heard from anyone. After constant calling and stating our grievances we had experienced we finally demanded our final invoice and someone to hear out our concerns. This company stated they have great customer service. I can assure you they do not. I don't know how else I can warn you to stay away and to take your business elsewhere. My partner and I were made to feel as if WE were an inconvenience to their business. As if we weren't worthy of their time, their respect. We are incredibly hurt and this company is forever going to be a garbage company in our eyes and as many others as we can open. We spent $16,000 for excellent product and outstanding customer service. We were supposed to feel like "family." But we NEVER received any good customer service. Found their junk in my mailbox claiming they just completed a project near my home. Called to schedule their "Free in-home consultation" with a 25 % off and specific special financing offers as bait. After a deluge of lies about how bad vinyl windows are, the "Design Project Consultant" Harold quoted $26,1115.37 down from a retail price of $37,172 with the discounts shown. This was only for the installation of 9 windows with the old windows already removed and such amount can be financed!!!. Not showing any reaction to the quote, Harold thought he could have asked for more $$ from a senior citizen that seems naive and does not need financing!! The opportunity was made available when I've asked to add two doors and not to my surprise, I was hit by a $68,148.79 quote for 9 windows and 2 doors down from the initial $72,282 retail price with only $8K+ in discounts for this updated request. I have asked Harold to let me know if the doors were made of massive gold but no response yet. If this is not a scam or price gouging what it should be then? These Windows are tremendously expensive, well made though, in comparison to the cheaper plastic windows slapped into most homes built here in NC. That's it for the positives. The plastic windows in our home have begun to fog out only after 15 years and there are no warranties provided for most windows after 10 years. The sales guy was awesome! The installation was poor, it took 4 months for the windows to get installed after signing the 2 year deferred payment contact. The sub contractors damaged one of the window trims and cracked the siding of our home, 8 months ago, which still has not been addressed or scheduled for repair after weekly conversations. These issues were immediately reported at the time of installation with pictures. The financing by Greensky has been a nightmare! The original signed deferred payment agreement was arbitrarily changed by Greensky after 6 months to a month to month payment plan. It's an absolute shame, because the windows are amazing, but we won't fall into this trap again. read more

This has been the worst experience with any company I've ever worked with. I've been waiting for a full year to get the 4 windows corrected that were installed. Every time they schedule delivery, something happens and they can't deliver. Either the product isn't on the truck that arrives or the sashes are damaged, or the truck was delayed. It's been impossible to get this job completed. The customer service is awful to get someone to return a call. It took submitting a Better Business Bureau complaint to finally get attention, however the issue is still not resolved. Highly do not recommend! read more

I received a call a day later asking me to complete my profile to be actually entered to win and knew then it was a scam for your personal information so never communicated further. Since then they have called me almost daily harassing me to complete this. I blocked the local number so they started calling me from different locations across the state that I now have the privilege of blocking daily. Have always thought of their windows as high quality but will never know because their customer service has completely turned me off from the company. Recommend looking elsewhere. read more

He took the time to explain the process, was an expert in windows and we loved his sense of humor. The installation was flawless, and the windows are amazing. The quality of Anderson Windows has always been excellent. That is why my wife and I chose Anderson Windows over other estimates that were half the cost of Anderson's. The issue we continue to have is the installation of the Anderson Windows by their contracting services. Anderson sent two crews to complete the installation of a four door gliding Patio Doors. They continually bickered amongst themselves as to how to complete the installation which included the tear out of three windows and a door. The initial installation included installing a new header. After a day and a half they left without taping and plastering the holes in the drywall that had been cut out and patched. They even reinstalled the trim prior to taping and plastering. We thought that perhaps they would complete this when they installed the other windows we ordered that were backordered. After a month went by, I called to find out when our other windows would be coming in. Mary Kate from Customer Service was quick to respond that the windows had just been completed and were shipping. She indicated that they could potentially be installed prior to Christmas. I inquired about the finishing of the other windows and she referred me to Chris who was the supervisor of the installation crews. Chris came out and indicated that the completion of the other windows should have happened by the first crews. I will get one of my best crews out to complete the installation. The crew arrived as assigned and looked at dismay at the quality of the finish work. They had to remove all of the window trim that had been put up to complete the taping and mudding the walls. They indicated they would be back next day which they did. Yet, the mud was not dry as they had to use a lot of extra mud to fill the gaping holes that the first teams had made/left. The crew chief indicated that they would be back that evening (Friday) or first thing Monday morning. Monday showed up and no one showed up all day. Tuesday showed up and again no show or no call. I finally called Chris the supervisor. The Crew Captain forgot. I am not sure how you can forget an issue like ours. Late Tuesday, I was told the team would be here first thing in the morning as we have forty plus people coming to our home for Christmas. I have a painter waiting to paint around the windows. Guess what, it is 10;25 AM and again no one has showed up and no one has called. Please take a look at the other issues others have had with Windows by Anderson. The issues are legitimate. Something that I failed to do based on the "old" reputation earned by Anderson Windows, not Renewal by Anderson. It is apparent that Renewal by Anderson does not respond to bad reviews nor seek to improve their services. The installation process is a complete mess. read more
