I kept getting told that they were waiting for parts but everything was ready. From quote to finish was almost six months for five windows. My complaint was the lack of respect Todd gave me. He refused to give me an invoice or even stop by to see if I enjoyed my experience. I know this outfit has a great reputation but for me I'll go with a company that is courteous and professional when I do the rest of my windows.

All these concerns and more. I'm a detail oriented guy that can find fault with just about everything, I know, not healthy. BUT, let me tell you while giving major praise and satisfaction thanks to Todd, the owner of Windows, Doors & More. His crew showed up 30 minutes prior to start time every day! I say "crew" BUT, these guys were true Craftsman and I mean Craftsman. The Team, Steve, Jacob, Ian, and Bill worked together like a fine tuned machine. A look and a nod in the place of words. WOW. Their personalities made it actually nice to have them around and working on my home. If you have a question, they stop what their doing, follow you, and listen intently with a true response. They even took extra care to help me and be certain my wood blinds would fit the new windows. Extra trim required, Not a problem. I look at these windows and completed installation with pleasing amazement. I'm not kidding, everything looks and operates beautifully. For a guy that's hard to please, I couldn't be happier. Also, their pricing is more than competitive and their products are top rated when you do the investigation. I addition, the painted commented that the woodwork was done and nailed the way it's supposed to be done unlike other work he has seen. Hats off to Todd and his team. Even now I look at these windows and smile in satisfaction. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

If you are looking for doors or windows in the Triangle, save yourself some time and go to Kelly…read moreWindow and Door, Inc., a family-owned business and the only local ProVia showroom. We took the ride out to Cary to get a sense of the actual door, the finish we wanted, along with available options. Their sales specialist, David Boyd, was extremely helpful explaining the product line and Kelly's business model. David came out to the house and helped us find a door that fit our budget without sacrificing the look and features like glass we wanted. He took the measurements and explained the process from the point of sale to completion of installation. He walked us through the ProVia product warranty. We did our homework and got two more quotes, but Kelly was the clear winner in pricing and the fact that they are the only 'Platinum' ProVia dealer in the Triangle. Best of all? No franchise pricing games like the other two estimates. Their quote was transparent and actually more affordable than the 'big name' companies. While the price was more affordable, we looked at each company in totality. We highly recommend Kelly Window and Door, Inc. a high-quality experience!

He was professional…read moreand not pushy, and I thought I'd found a good company to work with, since they opened in 1994 and are locally owned. The premium doors are even made in an Amish area in Ohio. Bill just handled the deposit process, and Wes came and remeasured before ordering the doors. My doors were ready about four weeks early, and Mark called to schedule. Unfortunately, the polished sales front fell apart the minute the installation crew arrived. The installation crew arrived on time. Wes had already noted where they were to park, but they came to the front and insisted on seeing the doors before parking. I'm not sure why they needed to come inside without foot protection for an outside project. But that should have been my first warning of what to expect from this unprofessional crew. Early into the job, I started to hear arguing and bickering. It intensified at one point, and I thought there was going to be a physical altercation. They were angry, as one installer yelled at the other using phrases like "you're real f**kin helpful". This was the quality of the crew I was sent. It leaves a lot to be desired. They worked independently, and Door A's frame was scuffed up and left structurally out of alignment. Door B was unfinished, with a 3/4-inch structural gap at the top header and no foam or perimeter caulk. The weatherstripping was cut short and left completely square-cut instead of mitered, leaving an open gap where daylight poured straight through. The crew left an interior light on, which hid the light leaks during the day. The site was not fully cleaned, and there was paint on my property and the neighbors'. Harrold even attempted to clean the paintbrushes at my outside faucet. I contacted Mark, the operations manager, when I noticed the gap in the weatherstripping and sent photos so it could be fixed. I was told he'd send Harrold back around 3. So I waited all afternoon expecting him; he called me directly at 6pm and said he was going home first, and showed up at 6:20pm. Unprofessionally, he brought his wife along. With the poor job, I was surprised they sent the same installer back. Harrold's fix was botched: the weatherstripping wasn't symmetrical on both sides and still left a gap. The cut was supposed to be a mitered angle, as was Door A. Mark was on site at some point and didn't notice the damage to Door A's frame, the misalignment, the gap, the weatherstripping, the lack of insulation or caulk, or the fact that the crew didn't clean up fully. So it is concerning that the work isn't being properly inspected and signed off on. It took me a few days to notice, but that wasn't my job to project manage a certified dealer's premium installation. Kelly Window & Door promotes a "stress-free guarantee" that appears to be just words and marketing that they don't follow. They failed to deliver on the one-day install, dragging out the project despite the premium price. I expected a hassle-free experience and expected quality work from the installers. I contacted the president of the company, thinking he'd want to know about the problems and get things corrected. He didn't know the correct spelling of his installer's name. He seems out of touch with the day-to-day operations of his own company. Instead of taking accountability, he chose to gaslight me, trying to reframe missing insulation, raw uncaulked air gaps, and a total lack of perimeter sealing as a "cost-saving aesthetic choice" because the rooms were labeled for storage, "uninhabitable areas". But they are air-conditioned, making these doors permanent boundaries of the building's thermal envelope under North Carolina energy codes. The main office front desk staff took action on day two, moved my file to the warranty department, and they have been trying to help me resolve this. The warranty team, consisting of two technicians, both named Dillon, spent three full hours executing an extensive punch-list rebuild. They had to cut away the failing work; the structural error required heavy pounding to mechanically realign the interlocking jamb skins and apply spray foam on Door A to get it straight, and pack Door B's 3/4-inch structural gap with foam and caulk that door. The weatherstripping was mitered. The warranty repairs took almost as long as the botched install, which was four hours. Kelly Window & Door charges a premium price, and I expected a smooth installation with quality and vetted workers. The company did not value my time and kept me waiting all afternoon for the tech who couldn't do the job right the first time, instead of sending someone skilled. The company may have addressed the issues with the techs, but I never got a resolution. Based on how this was handled, I wouldn't use Kelly Window & Door for another project, as this was not the stress-free experience they promised but a headache.

Window Works - Window & Door Replacement in Cary, NC

First I would like to say that overall I am pleased with the new door and window side pieces and…read moreglad that we replaced our old patio door that had water damage. I also feel that the guys who did the install behaved professionally, were friendly, worked hard and deserved the tip that they received. We originally went to Window Works in Cary before the holiday hoping to have our patio door replaced quickly. We met with Jeff and asked him to show us options for Anderson products to replace our patio door and side panels. Since they had a busy schedule we returned at the beginning of January to place our order and pay the 50% deposit. We were told that our order would probably there in about 2 weeks but it would likely be about 6 weeks before the install. When paying and signing the contract I scribbled on a few notes that Jeff reviewed. I discussed with him that (I assume like most people) we had an issue in the past of not having work done professionally or needing to have others clean up afterwards and I wanted to be sure there was a clear agreement between us. The work is completed now and overall we are pleased. However there were some issues that we are not so pleased with about the final results. I will list them and try to post pictures to clarify and let you decide if you would be pleased. 1. Upon final inspection before the installers left, I noticed that the grills don't match the door and side pieces. When I asked them if that was typical they stated they didn't think they had ever seen that before and they were certain it was never an issue with Anderson doors. They let me know the product I have is Therma-Tru.On viewing the contract I noticed that it says Anderson Windows and has that Anderson logo but under details it also mentions Therma-Tru Fiberglass which when ordering I thought was the type of Anderson door since that was the only brand we discussed. My mistake for not having that clarified but there is no way I would have knowingly ordered a "no-name" brand that I never heard of before. 2. So the Therma-Tru door looks nice and is fine but certainly I can't leave it with grills that don't match so that was a big concern for me. Jeff then told us that the door needs to be painted and within a certain time period in order to not void the warranty. Weather strip and hardware removed and all 6 sides painted order to keep the warranty on the door according to the manufacturer!(I had asked Jeff prior to ordering if painting the door was included and he did tell me that it wasn't but he also said the door would be fiberglass so I wouldn't have the same issues I had with our painted wooden door but I could paint it another color if I wanted.) If I had known about this I would have at the very least schedule painters to be there the day after the install. 3.They added quarter-round molding all the way across under the 2 side pieces and the door. I have never seen a piece like that under a door opening and think it looks odd. (This also needs to be painted) 4. Threshold has several pieces in various colors and to me it doesn't look great that way and one part is raw wood and needs to be painted. 5. There are "black" pieces used for threshold and under side pieces. I think it is an odd color to use with such light colors on the home but I think it looks fine for the door threshold but really strange and ugly under side sections. It looks like they are thresholds to walk on up to the windows. (Even worse that pieces shows inside and due to the material will need to be treated differently for painting ) 6. Lots of nail holes showing that will need to be filled 7.The flashing was showing under the door and it looked awful. When I told the installers that I really couldn't accept that they found a nice solution and fixed it. So that part turned out nicely. 8. They didn't clean the door or glass. NOT a huge deal for me in this case but I certainly feel that it should have been cleaned. If you are ordering windows or doors I'd highly suggest that you write CLEAN All on the contract. (BTW, on our first visit we did let Jeff know that one of our next projects was going to be replacing all of the old windows in our home.) 9. We sent Jeff pictures and invited him to stop by which he did. He just kept talking about how great he thought it looked and didn't seem to care about our opinions. 10. Another HUGE issue is that the following day I found out that I can't have any blinds or curtains installed on the door for privacy!!! Um, I sure could have used that info prior to ordering- thanks:( Therma-tru states that can void the warranty and that the solution would be to replace the new glass pieces and purchase new glass with the blinds inside! We would have for sure paid to have blinds inside if we had known of this issue. Even if I wanted to replace the new glass I still wouldn't be able to hang the custom made valances I had made!

He walked us through his showroom and we were able to make choices based on our needs. Window Works did a fantastic job.

I was getting estimates to replace my siding and possibly more work but wasn't having a lot of luck getting call backs or people that seemed to want the job even though it's a very easy project. I ended up with 4 estimates from people I didn't really feel comfortable with and then got a referral for Custom Home Exteriors from another contractor. I really liked what the rep had to say and was ready to hire them even if they were a little more expensive than the others. He told me I would get the bid later in the day or the next day. A week went by and I still didn't hear anything so I asked again. He apologized and said he was busy but will get it that day or the next. Another week went by and still nothing. I asked if he was still interested in the project and understood if he wasn't but he assured me he was and the bid would be emailed asap. I never heard another word from them. I'm very understanding and I realize people get busy, busy is a good thing, but I'm way too busy for the BS... I ended up hiring NC Siding and Windows and was very pleased. After the siding I had them replace the roof and gutters too!!!
