We paid $25,000 for 10 windows. They were promised to be installed before December, they were installed in late January. One window leaks because they did not remove all the caulk from the old windows. Very bad. Do not believe the "sound deadening pitch" still hear the local highway just like the old windows. Quality is very poor, the screens don't fit, so bugs come in. The windows are scratched - not what you would expect for $25,000. No accountability by company. We found we could get the same quality for less than half what they charged. read more

The salesman, T. Wong, pressured my elderly father who suffers from dementia to buy over $57,000 worth of windows when we only need two windows replaced. He kept saying my father had to pay $10,000 cash today with no contract. When the power of attorney came in and saw what was happening, he asked for an email, and T. Summary I hired Renewal by Andersen after a sales rep visited my home on March 21, 2004 and showed a small sample that made the outside view look green. The rep assured me the installed windows would match the sample and reduce heat in my front room. The installed windows were neither green-tinted nor did they reduce the heat as promised. What happened * I asked for tinted windows for the kitchen, living room, and sliding glass door; the rep showed a small sample that turned the view green and repeatedly promised the installed product would match. * After installation there was no green tint; Renewal by Andersen later confirmed they do not sell fully green-tinted windows. * When I called the company the same day the rep returned and denied ever showing a green sample. Other company reps also told me the green sample did not exist. * The windows did not darken the view and did not make the front room any cooler in late afternoons. Company response and resolution * Renewal by Andersen offered two remedies: apply a green tint coating to my new windows or install darker screens. I chose the darker screens. * The offered solutions did not match the original assurances and did not resolve the heat problem to the degree promised. Impact * My front room remains uncomfortably hot in the late afternoon. * I spent significant time contacting the company, hosting multiple reps, and visiting the main office to pursue the issue. * The sales promises were inconsistent with the product delivered and multiple reps denied showing the sample I was shown. Recommendation Do not rely solely on verbal assurances from Renewal by Andersen sales reps. Get exact product samples and written confirmation of the installed product and its performance before signing a contract. The windows themselves are ok. The chief installer told me back in September 2020 when installation was finished to enjoy looking through them, to enjoy the view as that's the cleanest they'll ever be. I thought he was just being funny. However, he was correct. The way the screens are situated, covering the entire window, allows the entire window to be extremely dirty. They're extremely difficult to clean. After spending over $25,000.00 on my windows, I certainly expected better. I wouldn't recommend these windows to ANYBODY...save your hard-earned money and do your due diligence research before signing the bottom line of a contract. I wish I would have. Renewal by Anderson signed us up for over $7K of window replacements. We waited for weeks and when the install date finally came they arrived unannounced before 9 a.m. (when we had been told a call would let us know what time) while I was in the shower. Then the largest most expensive (5x10 ft) window was BROKEN right off the truck and the job couldn't be completed. Next the two workers destroyed every plant under a bedroom window - just plain stomped them down to mush. My experience with these people was destructive and wretched - I would NEVER recommend them for anything. read more

The windows are great and our installation team was top notch. The windows are expensive -- $15k for seven large to fairly large windows installed. But that is pretty much what you will pay for top quality replacement windows. I requested experienced installers, since a good window does not install itself, and they came through with a very good team of three. They didn't rush the job and did it right. read more

Renewal by Andersen convinced my elderly parents to sign an $18,000, 12 year contract to replace 9 windows in a 700 sq ft mobile home that was built in 1969. The mobile home has 14 windows. My parents' main source of income is social security. I talked to the salesman and he told me he "treats everyone the same". Slimy salesmen. He used the totally original heat lamp trick to CONvince them they needed the most expensive windows this "company" sells. I asked him why he proceeded with the sale after running their credit. He said it's not his place to call his clients liars and they told him they could afford it. He said that his commission had no bearing on this sale. All they wanted was to save money on their utilities so they could afford groceries. Now in twelve years they might save enough to afford groceries. If you like to spend double or triple the value for windows, and support a company who takes advantage of the elderly to make a buck, this is the company for you. read more

My wife and I bought a new home in Draper that was desperately in need of multiple window replacements: At least 12 had seals that were shot with condensation between the panes, and the rest were not far behind. We contacted Renewal by Andersen and every bit of our experience was excellent - the initial evaluation by J.R. was thorough and unpressured, followed by the front office management team who came out to carefully measure (again) and review our order. The installation team of James, Sam and Nick was simply incredible: Not only were they fast and efficient, they quickly fixed a master bathroom casement that was completely rotted and threatened to slow down the entire project! We live in an old home and needed bathroom windows replaced. One of them is right by the tub/shower and they recommended an obscured, tempered glass, double hung window to aid with ventilation and privacy. Everything went smoothly, they estimated, they measured, they installed and we were happy, until our first shower. We realized that water was filling up the tread of the frame, where it shuts (not sure of the lingo). At $1,000+ a window this is very disappointing, no one wants to pay that much and end up having to place a towel under the window pane to soak up the water that accumulates every time they shower. I am certain that ours is not the only house with a window by the tub and there had to be a better solution. I assumed they knew what they were doing and that they would give us exactly what we needed in that spot. It seems to me that what they needed to do was to put the same rubber finish the window has on the outside for rain, on the inside for the water from the shower. I called and a service tech came to see it, took pictures, and left, saying that somebody would call us with an answer. They called and said that the window fulfills its function of keeping the weather elements from getting in, and that it should not expected of them to do anything to help with our dilemma.
