This was the most horrible counseling I have ever received. Judy, my counselor never offered any solutions. It was like just talking to someone in a chair for months waiting for answers. Very disappointed in our experience here. We were specifically looking for a Christian counseling service for our marriage. We were open to any therapist however we requested someone who was not an intern. We found out on our first visit that we indeed had been scheduled with an intern. Not ideal but we rolled with it. On our first visit, we arrived several minutes early, turned in the paperwork they had emailed us and waited. Our counselor came out more than 10 mins after our appt time. I wasn't sure if maybe he had been reviewing the paperwork but he didn't address the issue and we didn't bring it up. It also didn't seem as if that was the case once we got started. We weren't feeling we were a perfect fit in our first meeting. We felt like he was stereotyping our relationship and assuming I was a typical nagging wife and my husband was the typical man who wanted more physical attention. We decided to try one more visit, after all, we just met and he needed to get to know the real us. Plus, as we explained to him, we have a lot of serious issues/stressors going on and we feel like we are in a crisis spot and really need help. We booked a second appt for this evening and pre-paid as the office isn't open on Fridays. We arrived a little before our appointment and after waiting almost 20 minutes past our appointment time, we left. We had no way to contact the therapist, nobody was up front and no was one readily found in the offices (I mean, we weren't knocking on doors but nobody was out and about to ask questions to). We tried the office number but it just goes to answering. Thirty minutes past our appt time we received a text from the therapist wondering where we were and noting his other appt had run late. I am not sure how long we were supposed to wait? There wasn't even any way for us to know the therapist was there let alone running late. We texted back that we were upset and didn't think this was a good fit and wanted our money back and he was like peace out. Not even an apology for our time. So great, as we mentioned to the therapist at our last appt my husband is leaving town for two weeks, we are in a horrible spot, and the stress from the appointment situation has made everything worse and now we have to start from scratch finding someone new. I wish they at least respected our time and had a way to communicate if they are running late. Truly disappointed and at a loss. read more

I've been going here for the past 3 years, and I intend to stay! I've been going to Jennifer and I absolutely adore her. She's been so sweet and thoughtful with me through some rough periods in life. She was my last ditch effort after having poor experiences in other companies but I'm so glad I went! Never give up! I won't share the reason I was needing counseling, but the therapist I was seeing gave terrible advice and then dropped me like a hot potato. All I can guess is maybe my issue was personal to him. ‍. I am writing this because my counselor Westly from renewing life , was the best. I had other great counselors from here, but Westly was a match for me. I needed A counselor that could help me mentally, physically, and spiritually. I found she really cared about me and my feelings. Westly always left my sessions with me being ok. Tools to handle my week until we talked again. I found the best counselor here at renewing life center. If your searching for a staff that care, schedule around your needs, then call them. I've been a client at Renewing Life Center since 2008. My counselor, Mark has helped me journey through some of the darkest moments in my life and most challenging parts of my story. Even when I'm not in times of crisis, meeting with Mark on a weekly basis is such an incredible gift. He's incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, funny, and shines brightly the light of Jesus. Every staff member I've had the opportunity to come to know whether it's Virginia at the front desk as I check in each week or the other therapists I've spoken to in passing in the lobby when they've stopped to say hello, are all friendly, kind, sincere, and just like Mark, the light of Jesus shines brightly through them. If I could give them one hundred million stars I would. I've referred and will continue to refer countless friends and people I come across to Renewing Life Center when they are in search of someone to talk to either short term or for years (like me). After the October 1 tragedy, the amazing crew at Renewing Life stepped up and offered free counseling sessions for the people who were at Route 91 Festival that night. They didn't hesitate to get involved and serve our community; it's part of the heartbeat of who they are. They're professional. They're compassionate. They're knowledgeable. They love well. They follow the example of the One who loves us all with a perfect love (Jesus). The lobby is peaceful. There's free coffee, free hot chocolate packets to make hot chocolate with the hot water in the water cooler, and obviously free cold water also in the water cooler. There's even a free bookshelf on the bookcase (it's the bottom shelf) where whenever someone donates books, the books are available to anyone interested in a book or two. I can't recommend Renewing Life enough. If you're in search of counseling for any length of time, go to Renewing Life. I promise it will benefit you and your life in the best possible way. read more

I called around to various counseling services before selecting Renewing Life Center. A couple of those services just asked if I was looking for medication. While medication is a part of this process for some it should not be the lead for your first contact with them. Being a Christian it was very important to have God in every aspect of my life including this. Renewing Life Center was recommended by my church where Mark W. serves as an elder. Renewing Life Center is also a partner for many of the Vegas Valley churches. I had never been to any counselor or any counseling service before this one. I signed up to be counseled by one of their interns and the price is based on a sliding scale tied to your income. I should have done this years ago as my time with my counselor has been extremely beneficial to my life. Everyone at the Center has been very friendly in caring for me. read more

I want to start out by saying that I NEVER write reviews for any establishment I frequent. However, because I lost my marriage after seeking help from Pat, the Director of Renewing Life, I felt obligated to write. First, this is not a quick reaction to a bad experience since it has been months since my ex-wife and I went in for counseling and wanted to think my thoughts through before posting. As much as it hurts me to say this, seeing Pat was a disastrous experience. Our first meeting, she let my wife for 2 hours tell lies and exaggerations about me without ever letting me rebuttal or challenge those accusations. After our two hour meeting, Pat met once more with me the following week and told me that my marriage was going to end in divorce but would not tell me why. I was astounded. She offered NO help or solutions to keep us together, or to begin taking first steps toward reconciliation. My wife took those two meetings as a signal to divorce instead of seeking counseling considering we have three young children. I was told Pat has over 30 years experience in marital crisis, yet displayed what seemed to be frustration and confusion. My marriage has ended, my children are confused, and the place that I thought could help us, failed my family. read more

Been going there since Oct 2015. Had first intern, Ron, but during few sessions, I did not feel like I was improving. I asked for copies of notes then realized some of them were not written down as things I brought up; then later switched to someone else and realized that this new intern, Brian started having me fill out paperwork before session and end of session which hardly ever happen with Ron. Then I asked the last visit Feb 17 three times for my last two visits then and was told I couldn't get them till next visit as I was told by Mark is ok when I was under Ron. Brian kind of sounded fickle on telling me he can't give them to me that day but said one thing at first then changed his mind and made excuse he had someone else. I'm concern and confused with this center. Trying to reach out to their supervisor again 3-4 times now on the things I question. read more
