I was a patient of Doug brooks for about a year or a little more and he's the worst provider I've ever had to deal with and I've been a licensed medical professional for almost 15 years. Doug's knowledge of medicine is poor and he over prescribed me on medication that didn't even help the problem I initially came in with. He pushed me on a medication I wasn't familiar with and everytime I would check in with him and tell him my condition wasn't getting better he would just increase the dose until I was at the absolute max dose within about a month of just starting it. The most he would ever ask me at an appointment is ' How's work going? ' or some other kind of small talk, but he didn't know how to figure out solutions to the problems I came in with. The dose was so high I had to take 2 different capsules of the same medication ( which also hurt my wallet )because they didn't manufacture one pill in such a high dose. He was even willing to increase it more and disregard medical suggestions but I told him no and stood my ground. After a year of being on this medication, getting 90 day supplies as directed by my insurance company, Doug all of a sudden shed his boss has directed him to instruct every single patient that they must make an appointment every single month, regardless of treatment, progress , or any other individualized criteria. As mental health patient we should always be treated with individualized care, not all lumped up as one big group to make the prescribers job easier. It was clear that this was to triple their revenue, so instead of making an appointment every 90 days it had to be every 30 days. Well it was so funny because my CIGNA insurance only covered a 90 day supply at a time when it came to mental health medication. As I mentioned, I've been a medical professional for about 15 years so I never heard any kind of office rule ( unless you're prescribed controlled substances monthly, which I was not ) that they all of a sudden decided to implement because of their greed. When I confronted Doug about his unethical practice, I made sure to emphasize that not even my insurance covers 30 days at a time so how would he expect to get paid triple the amount like he's asking? I even randomly called the front desk to ask them about any sort of new policy and they confidently said they had no idea what I was talking about and neither Doug, nor anyone else has ever mentioned any short of policy. And I want to be clear that he specifically told me this had nothing to do with my individualized care, and this policy was being implemented to every single patient that Office is serving. Once Doug realized he was exposed, he raised his voice and got extremely vulgar and violent threatening me with physical harm, as well as cutting off the medication he got me addicted to (which I never wanted to take in the first place) he had the opportunity to get violent and raise his voice since he had the luxury of working from home and the appointment was over telephone that time. I immediately filed a complaint with the Nevada medical board against his license. As I started doing more research on this man, I could see many terrible reviews, specifically mentioning his temper and loss of control when mad. There's even a few here on Yelp. If you scroll up a little bit, you can see for yourself. Please avoid this office at all costs, there are many other options with genuine providers that are not money, hungry crooks. His picture is below so that you can make sure you never have to deal with such an awful person when it comes to your mental health. Shame on his boss for keeping him employed. His boss has threatened me with legal action stating defamation of character, but by law, the truth is allowed to be shared with the public that is not defamation. I understand how Doug gets away with his behavior now, because his boss is just as bad and encourages such practices disregarding the patient's best interest. I hope this place gets shut down sooner than later for the sake of our communities mental health. read more

My experience at this office has been very mixed depending on the provider. I initially saw Tran and liked her at first, but over time the appointments became increasingly uncomfortable. She often crossed professional boundaries by getting overly personal and invasive, and it felt like she was trying to act as a therapist rather than focusing on psychiatric medication management. A major concern for me was privacy. My husband is also a patient at the practice, and Tran told him to keep tabs on me and report back if anything happened. That made me feel like my personal medical information and situation were not being treated with the level of confidentiality and professionalism they should be. Since switching to Doug, my experience has been significantly better. He is professional, knowledgeable, and keeps appointments focused on treatment. I feel much more respected and far less judged during visits with him. Based on my experience, the quality of care here seems to depend heavily on which provider you see. read more

Dr. Steven Savage is truly an amazing psychiatrist, he quite literally saved my life. He really listens to your needs, takes the time to understand what you're going through, and finds the right treatment plan that actually works. I came here seeking support after experiencing a mental health breakdown from work and needing a proper diagnosis. From my very first visit, I was upfront and transparent with my provider, Dalin Muthand, about being on medical leave and needing assistance with workplace accommodation forms. After two months of consistent appointments and reassurances that they would be able to help me, I was blindsided at today's appointment when I was told they cannot complete any of my reasonable accommodation forms. This has been an entire waste of my time, money, and energy. I was led to believe that they would guide me through this process and provide the documentation I needed to return to work in a way that supports my mental health. Instead, after multiple visits, I was left with no help, no solutions, and no support. It feels like fakery the entire time, making promises they couldn't keep. Not recommended as I found Emily to be quite dismissive and demeaning and after our first appointment felt uncomfortable, but decided to still try, although I am paying out of pocket and this clinic charges a higher consultation fee than that others around. For my follow-up appointment which was going to be through video, she called me 45 min early to "see if I was available", which I was not and said I needed 15 minutes to collect myself, never got a call back from her and at the time of our original appointment, and at the end of the day, she completely never showed up! I even called the office after I was on the call for 7 minutes without anyone jumping on, and the receptionist proceeded to tell me she was taking notes from her previous meeting and would call me back soon. I waited for 15 minutes for Emily to call me back and by that time, called and cancelled my appointment and plan to never return. It was very awkward to open up to someone you don't know but Dr. Ho listened and diagnosed my illness. He provided me with his expert evaluations and needed medication management. Extremely Disappointed After Years of Loyalty I've been a patient at Horizon Behavioral Medicine for several years. Up until now, I've never once left a complaint, spoken negatively, or written a poor review--despite many instances where the office clearly dropped the ball. I let things slide for years out of patience, understanding, and loyalty. Unfortunately, that ends now. Recently, the mishandling of my medication by the office--specifically by the office manager, Vanessa--has severely impacted my access to treatment. This is not a minor administrative error. I rely on this medication, and the delays and miscommunication from your staff have caused unnecessary and unacceptable hardship. What makes it worse is that instead of taking responsibility, the office attempted to falsely accuse me of double-filling prescriptions in another state, which was simply not true. This all stems from the office manager's repeated inability to follow instructions or understand a basic situation. When I asked to speak to someone above Vanessa, or even directly with Dr. Ho--whose name and face are proudly promoted across the company's website--I was told that it's not possible, that he doesn't see patients, and that I must deal with Vanessa only. How is that acceptable? How can a patient-centered practice gatekeep patients from speaking to leadership or the doctor that represents the practice? The truth is, if you read the other negative reviews, you'll see a pattern: rather than taking accountability, this office spins the situation and blames the patient. That kind of behavior is not only unprofessional--it's gaslighting. I know I have always conducted myself respectfully and cooperatively. I've never once caused issues or been "difficult." But when an office manager's repeated mistakes begin interfering with patient care--especially when it comes to mental health treatment--that crosses a serious line. I am now seriously reevaluating whether I or any of my family members--who are also patients at this office--will continue our care here. It's disheartening that being a good, loyal patient means so little when you're forced to deal with one gatekeeping staff member who simply isn't capable of managing her role effectively, yet no one holds her accountable. Horizon behavioral health has always been a place I could count on for my mental health needs. At times my compulsive behaviors can make me a challenge to deal with. I generally have a hard time staying with a care provider, but PA-C Raquel Martinez has been so patient with me and understanding. I find it very hard to trust people but with her I've had no issues. As a response to the owner: yes, we brought up our concerns with the office manager immediately after and we're simply told "oh, sorry about that". I still maintain that the quality of care that we received at this practice is unacceptable at best and dangerous at its worst. After ignoring our intake paperwork with all the information already listed on it Emily proceeded to ask my wife about all the medications she had been on, completely ignoring the form. After telling her that one of these medications led to a severe downward spiral, Emily told my wife to "give it another shot", because "this time might be different", basically telling someone with peanut allergies to just "give peanut butter another shot". Emily led my wife to feel like maybe she was the issue, and convinced her to try the medication again. Obviously this was not the case, and the medication once again led my wife into a severe spiral before we decided to discontinue the medication. Prescribing controlled medication unprompted, treating us like drug addicts because of a medication that *she* prescribed, and putting my wife on a medication that we already told her didn't work, does not sound like the actions of someone who has the "ability to handle complex cases, and her unwavering commitment to providing the vest possible care." It sounds like a bad practitioner. While I understand that psychiatry is a complex field that involves trial and error, this is absolutely not okay. People's mileage with caregivers may vary, but it's important for potential patients to know how the quality of care they receive may range. My advice is to read this and the other reviews and continue searching for better practices. read more

Been helped here for a few years now by Dr. Vincent Ho and I can honestly say he has taken the best of his time to get to know me compared to other doctors when it comes to my mental health and well-being.
