Took my bike for the annual service, I was not happy with the brakes. Had this problem for most of the last year. They serviced the bike and the brakes are spot on. Very happy with the service, the engine is running better, more power, smoother, I think quicker. Staff was great. read more

After searching the internet for a reputable Vespa dealership we decided to take a ride to Reno's and we were not disappointed. Most dealerships like this are pushy and are just looking at the almighty commission. Reno's was absolutely not that location. The sales staff were pleasant, knowledgeable, and were willing to take the time with us to answer the questions we had. At the end of the day we settled on our scooters and were again amazed with the finalization of the sale. Although they do have a wide array of options on the floor for immediate purchase, they also have the ability to order special editions. Not only does this location sell Vespa but they also are a Piaggo, CanAm, SeaDoo, and Ducati dealer just to name a few brands. so my experience, all in all was not the greatest at Reno's. Took my motorcycle in for a recall to change the clutch. When I receive my bike back, I noticed a reflector nut was missing on the license plate and so I mentioned it and the man told me well you can go buy one for a dollar inside I said, but it was here before. and yes, I did purchase my own reflector nut. Two. that strike one. Strike two and three happened when I got home because I trailered my bike home. And I went on a ride for about 35 miles trying to just break in my clutch through the and gears and let let the clutches get oil soaked . wonder if they were soaked before.? The install.? there was nothing wrong with my clutch that I but there was a recall so I had it replaced. . It seems like I have loss of power and then I went to check my oil to see why would I have loss of power the motorcycle had about a half inch too much oil in it. I had to lean the bike over to 6 1/2° to even see the oil on the top line. so if you have any work done by Reno, I would probably check it out all the way before you leave because apparently they can't admit their own wrong. they Leave it up to the customers to see if they know good craftsmanship or not. Apparently not. tell you what i've never seen so many stuck up people in one place. it's the usual once they got your money. you're nobody from there.???? I came out to Renos to return unopened, unused parts that I had purchased from them. They would not take the returns even though they were brand new, unopened, and still in package. The people at Reno's are nice enough, but they need to stick to only atvs, motorcycles and seadoo jetskis and NOT seadoo BOATS. We have been excited for about 2 years to buy the new seadoo Switch pontoon boat and this last April we were finally able to pull the trigger. The purchase process was fine, no issues. But the first months of owning our boat have been very unsatisfactory. The sales team and service department know basically nothing and I mean nothing about the boats. Zero. I know these boats have only been out 3 years, but the dealership has a responsibility to have their sales and service people know at least most of the things about the boat. The boat has a break in period of 10 hours, we were never made aware, there are known battery issues, which we experienced on our first trip out on the lake when we were without reverse because of a battery issue. Didn't tell us one thing about maintenance or care or operation of the boat. We were usually told to youtube things if we couldn't figure them out. After having the boat out once and having no reverse we took the boat back to the dealership where it was for 2 weeks, the service guy assured us our boat would be covered the entire time but it clearly was not when we picked it up. Anyways these guys may be great for bikes and jetskis but we have been dealing with the dealership in Osage beach for the last few weeks and if iou are looking for a boat I HIGHLY recommend looking there. Or at least seeing if they can teach you about your purchase so it can be taken care of properly. read more

We were very happy w our Sales man and the experience of purchasing our side by side but a few months later we wrecked and through insurance took it back to Reno's to have an estimate. After weeks of calling to get someone even go out to look at it, the Service Manager was rude, Condescending, and every time I asked a question he would talk over me before I had even finished. I just wanted to give a big shout out to Matt and Reno's Powersports. I live in Tennessee and was looking online for a Super Tenere and found a couple. I narrowed it down to two bikes. The one I bought was from another dealer. I just wanted to say the Matt went the extra mile. I must have asked 100 questions. He took all the pictures I had asked and took a video for me. It nice to be reassured there great customer service out there. I didn't even purchase the bike and to top it off Matt was happy I found something I liked even if I wasn't buying from there. When I walked in, everyone in the front just stared at me...strange, but okay. Once I go back to the parts area, there's a line. The people behind the counter don't say anything, which is fine. It's finally my turn, I get my part and I leave. Nothing fantastic to say on the experience since there wasn't a lot of interaction, but they had my part and that's what makes me happy! read more

I've been going to Reno's Yamaha for year's, I purchased a motorcycle from them in 2012, the sale's associate was patient and didn't try to push the sale on me, he stood back and let me look at the bike's and when I had a question he answered them in a professional manner, as long as he stays employed there he will be the person I go to. I have dealt with the their service department serveral time from tune ups to mechanical repair, I have only had one issue with the service department and everything was handled by management properly and quickly and I have no concerns about dealing with the service department for future maintenance. I am a loyal Reno's Yamaha customer and I believe they offer far better service than another motorcycle shop in grandview. I would like them to have events and shin digs with Rep's, music, food and drinks. read more

Renos is a full line Italian motorcycle dealer (Ducati, Aprilla, Moto Guzzi, etc) with a great Yamaha line. Good prices on used bikes, *great* service and parts operation. They have solid stock of parts, accessories, gear, heated gear and more. Very friendly, open and honest folks across the board. You can usually meet the owner (Steve) any day you're in there, and he rides what he sells. I've bought several bikes there and been getting service and parts since they opened. It's a long drive (45 minutes) for me, but worth it - better service prices than the Kansas side Yamaha shop, and better trust in the service team. Highly recomended. read more

Took it in and they immediately put it in the shop and within 2hrs they had replaced my brake pads and got me back out the door. Buyer Beware - Shady Business Practices Went to purchase a dirt bike today and they had a Yamaha 125 on the floor with a sales price plus a destination charge. I was given a price that was $1,000 higher than what was advertised and their excuse was that the pricing was for a 2018 and this was a 2019 bike. Really!?? Bought a motorcycle last winter black cb500f 2013 that old owner had painted all black. They told me that the bike was all white underneath. I had no reassurance. I had to take them as there word. And they had lowered the bike like 4K under blue book. They also told me not to walk out on this great deal. I've worked in car sales so I felt fishy. A year later I cleaned off the bike it came out SUPER CLEAN. I was so happy. EVERYONE loves my bike. I couldn't be more proud of this purchase. Hands down very appreciative. I can faithfully say I don't know where I would be without this bike. I was looking all over Craigslist and they happened to call me because I called them a week earlier on a motorcycle they had. Ordered a snow plow for my dad's ATV from Reno's Powersports KC! I spent a decent amount of time online trying to piece together a setup that would fit his ATV and couldn't find much online. Service department customers, TAKE HEED! This is the worst service experience I have ever had in my life. We spent almost $5,000 on service for our Multistradas. We made an appointment. They said they would have the bikes for a week. Turns out they didn't bother to get the parts first. They had them 1.5 months. We picked them up and paid for the service. After getting home (in a rush), we notice that they had failed to even address several issues that we specifically and repeatedly asked to be addressed. Not only that, they identified several problems and then failed to ever tell us about them. Their explanation? "The service notes on the invoice clearly identified the issue. You should have read them more carefully." Yes, we are apparently supposed to be bike mechanics ourselves. Speaking to them is pointless and whatever they tell you orally is also worthless. No answer for why nobody bothered to raise these issues over the phone before we drove up there and picked up the bike. No, it's our responsibility to figure out how they failed to do what we asked before we picked up the bikes. One of the items was as simple as replacing a screw in my mudguard--they didn't even get that (which I might add WAS on the invoice). We live 3 hours from KC. So 6 hours to take them there and 6 hours to pick them up, all to have one of the bikes stop working within three miles after we trailered it home. That's right, it shut down in the middle of a ride and it will not start. And their response is that we can spend another 12 hours of journeys to have them "take another look." Let's see, $5,000, 1 1/2 months in the shop, and 24 hours of travel time for you to take another bite at the apple fixing stuff you were supposed to have fixed the first time? All while you refuse to admit fault. They offered to "work with us" on the costs, but wouldn't put that in writing. All after telling us they wouldn't pick the bikes up because it's our fault we didn't notice that they had failed to make notes on the invoices reflecting the repairs we requested. So since it wasn't in writing we were out of luck. Fool me once.... After hours on the phone, they would not agree to simply pick up my bike, address the problems (at my cost, if not caused by their bad service) and return it. I just wanted them to take care of the enormous inconvenience they caused me by picking up the bike and returning it on their dime (you know, the way I did it on MY dime the first time). Even that small request was too much for these goofs. They would rather keep a few hundred bucks than make a customer happy and fix their faults (or even admit them). These folks will take your money and give nothing for it. Stay far away from this shop or you will be sorry. They get a full one star though for being polite throughout. That at least was nice. If you're going to screw me, at least have a smile on your face! read more

I would NEVER trust this store! In 2015 I purchased a new WaveRunner and made a cash deal while I was out of town. When we picked it up, it was a lower level model than the one we bargained for. Even after calling the manager in, they insisted it was what we had agreed upon. Luckily, I had a thread of text messages proving the deal we had struck. Begrudingly, they eventually gave us the right model and said they would purchase the extended warranty for us, as bargained for. A few months later, we got our copy of the warranty. Fast forward a few years, and we called Yamaha about a warranty issue and they told us the dealer had cancelled it and gotten a refund. Reno's refused to acknowledge this and Yamaha simply said sorry, the warranty's been cancelled. Buyers beware...you've been warned! read more

I had known of Reno's for years but only became a regular customer last year when I was in search of a different street beasty. I participated in two of their demo days with Ducati and Yamaha which were quite fun complete with free eats and the chance to ride a bike that I had always drooled over, the Ducati Diavel. I was strongly considering a basically new trade in Triumph Speed Triple 1050 they had in their used inventory for a great price when I found my Aprilia Tuono 1000R from a local for an even better deal. I brought my new to me beast to Reno's and had a great talk with owner Steve and service mgr. Curt. Steve has owned every Tuono since their inception, every model year, and he is extremely knowledgeable and obviously a fan of these amazing machines. Despite not buying one of their bikes these guys have been a wealth of knowledge to me and have performed a few minor maint. items for a very fair price to get my bike in like new operating condition. I pop in from time to time to drool at new Aprilias and they always remember me and are very friendly. I've been to other dealers in the area for years but this is the place and it's not even close, ok Triumph in Olathe is really good too. When I decide to finally buy that brand new Tuono this is where it will come from. By the way Reno's is the only Aprilia dealer for hours and these Italian machines are the best in the industry that almost no one has heard of...except riders who know the pleasure of an exotic machine. So come into this place excited, don't be shy, they are just as excited about the bikes as you are! This is a big kids toy store! read more

I bought a used Yamaha from my father and purchesed about $500 worth of accessories for it at Reno with no problems. However, most recently I had to replace my locking gas cap and called Reno to inquire about it. They told me that it would have to be ordered. The cap came in on August 5th, 2011, so I picked it up and got on the road to visit my family in Kirksville. About 30 miles north of KC, my bike sputtered and died and I spent the rest of the evening trying to get the bike going. FInally I had to call a tow truck and have it towed to Cameron, where I left it overnight. My wife and I returned the next morning with a U-Haul trailer and continued north to Kirksville. When I got to the Yamaha dealer in Kirksville, they told me that there were actually 2 caps available for the bike, one for the California model and one for all other models. The California gas cap would not work with my bike, causing vapor lock. I returned to Reno the following week to return the cap. When I explained the problem, the parts guys called Yamaha to verify that, yes there were 2 different caps and yes, the one that they had ordered me was the California model and would not work on my bike. They realized that they, in fact, had the correct cap in stock all the time. At this point, I had spent over $250 in towing and trailer rental because of their mistake, yet there was not even an expression of "we're sorry" for the mistake they had made. They traded out the cap, but as I was walking out, one of the parts personnel stopped me asking for the original packaging for the incorrect cap. I told him I'd thrown it away (I had saved my receipt) at which point he said that he needed the packaging. He then insinuated that if he'd known that I didn't have the package that he would not have traded it out and "we'd be having a different conversation". The following week, after my anger had diminshed, I sent an e-mail to their GM Steve Okenfuss to express my disappointment with the service I'd received. Steve responded by saying he was sorry "for the inadvertent error we made in ordering your gas cap" and blamed the error on Yamaha because they listed the California model first in the catalog. And that he hoped that I could see my "way to giving us a second change". Sadly, Reno is the closest dealer to my house, but I refuse to reward atrocious customer service by spending any more money at Reno. read more

I went in to Reno's service department to get my atv carburetor professionally tuned(the quad was just purchased off craigslist and was running a bit rough due to a faulty carburetor adjustment). After my quad have been in shop for 3 days they called me back and said that they have no success with tuning the carburetor. I then took my quad home and decided to tinker with it a bit. I realized that my fuel/air adjustment screw adjustment was way off. I adjusted the screw and my quad ran perfectly.This is a screw that take only 5min to adjust to the right place again. I'm just wondering what Reno's actually did!? I know.........NOTHING. That is basic carburetor component that any experienced power sports mechanic should have no problem with. 150 bucks for NOTHING! read more

Started talking with Richard Ogden about a month and a half before I was going to be able to make a purchase. I asked Rich what the out the door price on my chosen bike was going to be via email. Within minutes Rich responded with a number and invited me in to look around. Nobody else would give me a number. Everyone wanted me to come in to talk numbers. I did stop by a few weeks later and worked with Andrew Romantum as Rich was busy. I had seen a few more bikes I was interested in and wanted to see them in person. Andrew suggested I ride both before making a decision. I did and was glad I rode both. Told him which one I wanted and made an appointment to pick it up the following week. Showed up today and Andrew had her shined up, full tank of gas and I was ready to go. Mike Helton made the paperwork a breeze, and after picking out a helmet with assistance from Evan in the parts department I was riding my new bike home an hour after walking in the door.
