Europcar - The "damage" they are charging me for is a tiny scratch less than one inch long. 100% scam.

Europcar

We recently rented a car from Europcar and were extremely disappointed with the experience. When we…read morereturned the vehicle at the Nice airport, it had a very small scuff--less than two inches--on the corner of the plastic bumper. Despite the minimal nature of the mark and our protests during check in, Europcar charged us a significant fee. Many other rental companies, such as National and Budget, allow for minor wear and tear, but Europcar chose not to. Because of this, we do not recommend Europcar and will not be giving them our business again.

The pickup was great and we inspected everything together. The person inspecting did not look at…read morethe hubcaps, however, or point out any damage on them. Then, I drove the car for 48 hrs and never once parallel parked the vehicle and I did not hit anything, not even one curb m the car was in the same exact condition as when I rented it. However, the valet guy at the pickup claimed I damaged the hubcap with a tiny scratch less than one inch that you could barely even see. When I refused and explained that I didn't do that, he told me I was liable. He then told me to stand in a line that was over an hour at the counter if I wanted to contest it. This is 100% a scam as they know customers can't stand in long lines and wait when they are catching flights at the airport. Luckily, I was very early so I waited, and also got on the phone with my insurance immediately. The person at the counter was not helpful at all and told me they will be charging me for this extremely minor regular wear and tear on the vehicle that I did not damage myself. I am fighting this with my insurance now and I will write reviews on every platform I can to warm others to never use this company. I have included a photo of the "damage".

Avis - Bad directions directing the customer to take a shuttle bus to another terminal.

Idk why this place has such terrible reviews. Our experience renting a car was a breeze through…read moreAvis. My dad made a reservation online, and because he normally uses Avis, we were able to head up to the upper floor to pick up the car without talking to anyone at the desk. We didn't know they had a "preferred" check in upstairs, so we waited in line. There were only 2 other people in line and we got to the front in a matter of minutes. We found our car. It was small for American standards, but perfect for the narrow roads of Provence and tiny parking stalls of Europe. When we left the parking lot, the guy checking us out was alone. There was a bit of a wait to get out because there was only that one guy doing the check out. Returning the car was really easy and the walk to the terminal is not too bad.

I should have seen the red flags---Upon picking up the car, it took about 1.5 hours because their…read moresystem was down and the attendant had to do every paperwork manually. I was not given paperwork upon picking up the car. They also downgraded my car without any price adjustment on the difference. The rental was fine and did its job and i returned it without any issues. I then found out they overcharged me for an extra day despite evidence via return receipt picture showing car entry to the garage actually returning the car 1 hour earlier than required. They were not able to resolve this by email so I had to use AMEX to get a chargeback and dispute the transaction. Terrible customer service experience at this location.

Aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur - Baggage claim

Quality/Quantity - Easy in and out. Especially with Easy Jet airline, pun intended…read more First time at this airport and maybe even a first time with this airline. Asked the first employee we saw that directed us to the correct baggage check, and of course we were supposed to go to the furthest part of the airport. Team members checked our boarding pass and ID. Self service baggage kiosk and off we went to the lounge, which was right after security. And then we realized that our gate was just in front of our Infinity Lounge. What a great start! Ambiance - Huge airport, minimum of two terminals. But clear instructions from Easy Jet airline and Google Maps. Service - Mostly self service. Price - Depends on where you go. We paid extra for assigned seats, baggage check, etc. Owner Comment - Thank you for an easy experience.

Yelp Review 2026 #178:…read more Arriving to and departing from NCE was easy but all I had was a purse with a tote bag inside for all the things I planned on getting in Nice. I didn't go through customs and immigration since I was coming from and going to a Schengen country. I can't say anything about the carousel at baggage claim since I didn't check a bag. It's not a massive airport. A few restaurants, cafes and bars. There's a huge bar/ restaurant hall in the departures area but it was closed without hours posted anywhere. You can get a tram to get to Nice-ville Station. Or take a tram to Saint-Augustin to catch a train to Ventimiglia, Italy stopping at Nice-ville, Sur Mer, Eze, Cap-d'Ail, Monaco, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Carnolès, and Menton. Passing 3 countries with one train ride. But the bad part is that, buying a transportation card from the kiosks at the airport sucks. They only carry 3-day passes minimum. I was only in Nice for a day since it's not a big city.

Stayed here a couple nights in a sea view room which has a perfect view of the Promenade des Anglais. Room was very comfortable with a large balcony. The hotel toiletries smell great and there is an in-room Nespresso machine with different pods. The hotel has an excellent breakfast buffet downstairs with plenty of options including pastries and charcuterie. As it was February, the pool was not available but understandable as it is winter. The gym is serviceable, but has limited equipment. The hotel location is away from the hubbub of Nice, which is great if you do not like street noise. But it does mean a drive or tram ride is needed to get to the main attractions in Nice. Still, I rate this as my favorite hotel stay in Nice because of its sea view.

This hotel offers breakfast buffet for 29 Euros. It is continental breakfast. They have fresh fruits, different kind of sliced meats, eggs, omelettes and cereals. I would say pastries are really good worth trying them. In the afternoon, they have a tea station by reception desk. They have different kinds of tea bags that you can make tea. There are restaurants in walking distance of this hotel. Also, there is a grocery store close by in case you want to purchase snacks.
