I did a lot of research on window types and companies. Matt was very knowledgeable answering all questions. Took a picture of our house to show what a new front door would look like. Our 23 windows and front door were measured twice to ensure they fit perfectly. The Legacy installation crews were polite, efficient, and meticulous. Numerous compliments from neighbors. Windows keep the heat down and let light in making the house much brighter inside. Matt kept in touch through the whole project and was very easy to deal with. Today we had Legacy replace the remainder of our old windows. Had some challenges for them in the kitchen and bathroom and they came through. Windows look great inside and out. Rooms were left cleaner than when they came!

According to the contract, the windows come with a life time warranty for as long as we own the house. Fast forward to 2026, one of the windows counter balances broke. I contact Legacy back in May to get the window repaired. If I understood correctly, the company was sold to the current owners. The name is the same and as far as I am concerned, if you buy the company, you honor the contracts. They balked but reluctantly agreed. Only thing is, they do not follow through. I started this in May. I have had several text conversations, everyone of which I had to initiate. I was made promises, none of which were ever kept. I finally decided to contact NT Windows (to day is Aug 12 2026) directly and have them fix it. I am out $152.00 but the window is fixed and I no longer have to deal Greg making promises that will never be kept. Moral of the story, if you have issues with this company after the fact, don't expect anything to get resolved, at least not very quickly. That is no way to run a company.

Now imagine realizing this while your child sleeps inside. Our project involved five exterior doors, four storm doors, James Hardie siding, and closing an exterior window. At one stage, three of four storm doors lacked essential operating hardware. We had to ask: Can we secure our home tonight? Could we use these doors during an emergency? Is our child safe? We could not postpone urgent corrections indefinitely while the owner blocked us, so on our own, we hired consultants to investigate the concerns and offer recommendations. The project was expected to be completed March 16-20, 2026, but remained unresolved months later. Hawkins continued demanding $9,577.20, which we disputed based on incomplete work, corrective costs, credits, reduced scope, and the undelivered door. Because of Hawkins lack of quality control in all aspects of its business, poor documentation and communication, and the countless risks associated with their unacceptable quality of workmanship, we hired consultants and other contractors, involved attorneys, disputed the balance, and completely lost trust & confidence. But all those became irrelevant once we started working with True Value World window and siding. He presented us with options and we decided on the platinum windows which we are in love with. True Value World were extra quick to order the windows.
