The painters who worked a job for me were incredible. They arrived exactly on time and were nice, professional, and very good at their jobs. I'm very happy with the result. The pricing was very competitive. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the difficulty with communicating with the scheduler. It was challenging getting responses to my questions, like my request for an official proposal document. I had to ask multiple times and it wasn't until I called that I received it (though by that time, the painters had already begun the work). When I was able to speak with the management, they were helpful, but calling them seemed to be much more likely to get a response than the Yelp messenger. The company's high quality of work probably has increased requests to the point of stressing the management and schedulers. Overall, an easy fix. I still recommend Rent Painters for your jobs. read more

2 men from Rent Painters painted walls in the apartment I moved out of to prepare it for a new tenant on 8/11/16. Pros: Rent Painters is very easy to contact and their good about following up. I called them on Saturday and was able to schedule our job for a couple of days after the call. They helped me determine how much paint would need to provide to get the job done. The 2 gentlemen who performed the job arrived early and were ready to start. Cons: I cannot give Rent Painters a higher overall rating because I discovered (after they left) they left bag of open snacks (and their leftovers from lunch were still in our fridge). It would not have been a big deal if I was still living in the apartment. (I would have discovered it quickly and disposed of it.) However it was an issue, when I was walking around the apartment with new tenant. It appeared like I hadn't picked everything up. I also discovered a large amount of dust that must have come from wiping down the walls (before painting them) on the window cells and on the air conditioning units. In a nutshell, I wouldn't hesitate to hire Rent Painters again (due to the fact their very responsive and can do a job quickly). However if I do hire them again, I will spend more time inspecting their job before they leave. read more

Rent Painters We needed to repaint the entire interior of our new home. We had three painting companies come out and give us quotes and Rent Painters came in at a competitive rate. We were also impressed by Chris' knowledge and professionalism at the time of the quote, so ended up hiring them for the job. They did a great job painting the house. What we really, really appreciated was that Chris advised us against the color we had initially chosen for the trim in our hallways and living/dining room area. We are SO glad he talked us into a different color for the trim, which worked out so much better. Chris also asked his team to hold off on painting certain areas so that we could see the colors in real life before moving forward. That was a big help and led us to make some changes to our plan. We did have some small bubbles emerge in the paint on one wall after the job was completed, but Chris did eventually send someone to fix them. Would recommend them! read more

Rent Painters was wonderful. They went through almost the entire interior of our new house and painted it perfectly. We had an odd array of colors for different rooms and didn't know what we wanted exactly until the day before. Christian was able to get the exact Sherwin Williams paint we wanted and the different finishes we wanted for each room the the morning of the job, and his painters went through four rooms, two bathrooms, and a basement in fewer than 7 hours. They even touched up baseboards where painters for the last owners had dripped painted and didn't have clear lines. Pros: - Consistent communication - Arrived exactly on time - Protected all of my furniture and floors - Did an excellent job on edges, around wall mounted lights, HVAC controls, moulding, etc. - Polite and considerate - Touched up where I pointed out a few issues at the end with zero push back - Much, MUCH more affordably priced than the competition - Spot on estimation on how much paint would be needed - The manager called midway through the day to see how things were going - Cleaned up after themselves (sweeping, etc) - Removed and replaced stair railings without damaging them or the surrounding areas - Painted some very difficult spaces including high ceilings on stairs Cons: - They are quick painters, so there was some splattering; they corrected it when I pointed it out. Just make sure to look for it when they are done, and they will correct it so I am not removing a star. My feedback to them is to slow down when painting a border with another paint color so you don't speckle the other side with paint. read more

From the beginning they were incredibly easy to work with, they were able to provide a competitive quote and clear instructions as to paint selection etc. When the day finally came for them to paint the grand majority of the interior or our home, they were punctual, friendly and ready to get to work. The cost of professional paint services in D.C. can be ridiculous. But I found Rent Painters refreshingly easy to work with and unlike other overpriced outfits. I spent $1,200 this summer (from a different company than Rent Painters) to get my small bathroom and two walls of a bedroom painted. That's a racket for a half day's work. Christian's crew was able to paint my entire living room (which is much smaller) for a fraction of that price the next day. I reached out through his website for an estimate, sent some pictures via text and immediately received a quote. He offered to have a man come the next day, which he did. I'll start by saying that I ultimately didn't hire Rent Painters as my usual paint crew had a last minute cancellation and was able to squeeze me in, however, in the future Chris's crew will be my first call. His prices are super competitive compared to other pros in the area and his reviews on Angie's List highlight the quality of the work his team does. I was moving into a new condo and had just under two weeks to request quotes and get the job done before all my furniture was moved in and it became a much more complicated and pricey job. Chris responded to my quote request almost immediately and came out to take a look at the place (several outfits I contacted gave me estimates based solely on real estate photos. No surprise, they were $1500+ higher than the number Chris quoted) He was meticulous in looking over the apartment and detailing everything that the crew would do including prep-work, repairs and cleanup. He was very upfront about their pricing and gave me a guarantee that the job could be done well before my move in date.
