I loved the how to train your Dragon suite…read more I underestimated how much I would love this room. I watched videos and saw pictures of what it looked like, but I don't feel like it really does it justice. Part of me wishes that we sprung for the park view, but the price was about double then the standard how to train your Dragon suite, so I couldn't justify paying for that. However, what was surprising was the weekend we went how to train your Dragon suite was just slightly more than a standard room with Park views. I absolutely believe if you're traveling with young children. It is worth giving up that park view to have this suite. Supposedly there are only 14 in the entire hotel which surprise me, so you do want to book it early because they sell out. What made this room so special to me is the fact that the kids had their own room that were fully how to train your Dragon themed. We watched the movie right before going so they would get excited again. The beds are beautiful and they enjoyed the mural behind them. If you're worried about your kids having a TV in their room, it turns out that there is one remote control for all three TVs so I just took the remote control with me. There's also a sitting room which was great because then my husband could watch the soccer matches while both myself and the kids slept and then a bedroom for the parents. You get a separate bathroom as well so it feels like a lot of space. There are tablets in every single room where you can control the lights order food and learn more about the hotel. The hotel itself is stunning. I'm surprised by the lack of food options though, we went to bar Helios one night and it was amazing. They do have a kids menu that they don't advertise online. The major perk of this hotel is the entrance to the park. They opened line to get in at 8 AM which was an hour before early entry. Honestly, I think we could've gotten a little later because then you were stuck waiting in the sun outside for early entry. If you are trying to rope drop Ministry of magic this is definitely the hotel for you. You are right next to the ministry of magic land. Later in the day when my son came back for a nap and we wanted to go see the mystery magic show. It took us five minutes from leaving our room to getting to Ministry of magic. It's that fast. Especially because later in the day there is absolutely no one going through the security. The pool is OK. I do prefer Disney pools with their splash pads, but this one was nice enough and they do have people that come and take your order. The food was much better than any Disney resort we've stayed at. We were able to check in at noon and surprisingly our room was ready. I appreciate that parking is all parking garage so your car stays cool and also it is right next to the hotel so you don't have to walk far to bring in your luggage. Overall, we loved our stay here and if we ever come back to epic universe, I would stay here again.

Food at the market is pricey- I went to get a sandwich- it was expiring- the ingredients on it looked bad - for $15 I asked if they had anything fresh- the girl said they were waiting on a truck. Pool was ok- boring - other universal hotel pools are way nicer.

My partner and I just got back from a staycation at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, and once again it…read morereminded me why this is one of my favorite hotels in Orlando. I've stayed here several times over the last 15 years, and it never disappoints. As one of Universal Orlando's original three Premier Resorts, it has everything you could want. The rooms are huge, the beds are hands down the most comfortable in all of the Universal hotels, the sheets are unbelievably soft, and there are plenty of great restaurants on property. The value is incredible too. Your room key doubles as an Express Pass at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, and if you've ever priced those passes, you know they can easily cost over $200 per person, per day. That alone makes staying here worth considering. We kicked off our trip with drinks at the Thirsty Fish. Check out my separate review because it was fantastic. We also had dinner at Mama Della's, which deserves its own review as well. This trip was all about the resort. We talked about going to CityWalk and maybe even hitting the parks, but we were having such a great time that we never left the hotel. Since it was just the two of us, it turned into the perfect relaxing getaway. Most people head to the Beach Pool with the slide, but we spent our time at the Villa Pool, and it was exactly what we were looking for. It reminded me of the pool at the Ritz-Carlton. Palm trees everywhere, a huge pool, tons of lounge chairs, and a much quieter atmosphere. It's only a short walk from the Beach Pool, and I was happy to find out it has the same full food and drink service. I ordered a tequila berry spritzer...or at least I think that's what it was called. I'll post a picture because I can't remember the exact name, but it was so good that by our second day it seemed like everyone around the pool was ordering one. Our second night, a big thunderstorm rolled in. We had reservations at CityWalk but canceled them, grabbed pizza and a Caesar salad from Sal's Market (see that review too), and had dinner in our room. Honestly, it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the trip. Good food, a little TV, some quality time together, and no reason to be anywhere else. We were only there for three days, but it felt like a true vacation. Whether you're coming to Orlando for the parks or just looking for an amazing staycation, Loews Portofino Bay is hard to beat. Was this review a little long? Probably. Do I care? Not even a little. We had an amazing time, and I think you will too.

I've rented this house 4 times now, and I will say it has really gone down since my last stay. -The carpet needs to come up, it's beyond cleaning. -The walls need a fresh coat of paint or either a good cleaning. -The pool needs to be cleaned. - The patio needs to be pressure washed, as well as the weeds pulled up. -We ran into roaches(German, the smaller roaches) during our stay as well. I picked up bug spray, but still....and yes I know this is Florida, but bear in mind, I live in coastal SC, so I know the difference between a nasty roach and a common cockroach(palmetto bug/waterbug). These roaches, found upstairs and down. - The living room set needs to be replaced. Overall, I think it's time for a good revamp on this property. There once was a time when our stay was super comfortable, but this time we were left feeling uneasy about our stay. The house is very stocked with cooking essentials, pool towels, and bath linens. The travel size bath sets were a nice touch! As well as the casiola tote and cookies!! While we did appreciate the opportunity to occupy this rental again, I know for certain for our trip in August, we won't consider this rental. We are still very pleased with Casiola, just not this particular rental. The communication was open, they were prompt with a service call, and accommodating with early check in. I hope the owner sees this review and decides to make necessary changes to make this rental more enjoyable for guests.

There were a tremendous amount of things to do nearby or 30 minutes down the road. The only thing that we would complain about is the noisy neighbors that we had and we had issues with the gates, not working other than that five stars. There are also a lot of things kept at the house for if you have small children, such as highchair pack, and play stroller would recommend to bring your own baby gate. We bought one once we got there and realized that the Main bedroom was upstairs to keep our five year-old from going downstairs by herself. Also, the pool has a net gate all the way around that makes it impossible for kids to get in the pool by themselves, which is great. All in all we had an amazing time and would Rent again!

There are multiple buildings and we stayed in building 2. It was quiet even though close to the highway and a very short walk to building 1 where breakfast is served. There are 3 hotel buildings; it looks like 2 were added on after the first. The unfortunate effect is that rooms facing another building (as ours did) are dark. The luggage carts available in front of the lobby have brakes, an excellent feature I've rarely seen elsewhere. The elevator was quite slow. There was a single nightstand between the beds in our room, which is a pet peeve of mine because we both like to keep water at bedside. The 27" no-name TV was very small by today's standards, and the remote control worked poorly. The room was particularly noisy in the early morning hours from the freeway directly behind the hotel. The bathroom was adequate, and there was no skimping on towels. A plus was the Dove-branded dispenser bottles in the tub shower. Breakfast requires a paper voucher, and there was a "security" person (actually 2 of them) checking, in addition to the attendant wiping tables. The food was not particularly good, but no worse than other places at this and even higher price points. Table space was very limited, almost impossibly so on the weekend. I felt as if vultures were watching over me as I ate, waiting to pounce on the table. It appears as if people in the area try to sneak in the front door for a freebie breakfast. I wish I could have told the ones I saw that it wasn't worth it. We booked this hotel because of undeserved good reviews. If we are again in the area, we will not stay at this place.
