We went to Orlando before our cruise specifically to use the swan boat voucher we won. Upon arriving, there was some stormy weather, so they were temporarily shut down. While we waited for them to reopen, we enjoyed a stop at the bar right across the way. Once the weather cleared, which took a little longer than we expected, we headed back over. The staff was really nice and made sure we were able to get right on the water. They allow you to go out for 30 minutes, which was definitely quite the workout! I really enjoyed seeing all the different Florida birds while we paddled around. I also thought it was super cute that the boats have little umbrellas over them, which definitely helps with the Florida heat. We highly recommend choosing a cloudy day to make the most of the experience. There's also a back seat on the boats, so if you have kids with you, no worries. I was extra excited that we got the golden boat! If you're near the area, we highly recommend this experience if you want to enjoy nature and see some really cool birds. This was fun! First off 15 dollars for 30 minutes on a little swan boat already isn't so bad, but I did get the Groupon for this so my ticket was only 9 dollars! 4 people in a boat for 30 minutes. It was fast. It was fun and pedaling made it all more exciting! You can either cruise and let the wind take you wherever or you can pedal and go across the lake or any destination really. I was in town for a festival that was happening last weekend and hotel happened to be right next to Lake Eola and what a gem! The lake was absolutely beautiful with a fountain in the middle and great views all around with so much wildlife, I was in absolute awe and this was the cherry on top! The rentals went for $15 for 30 minutes, ample enough time to do one lap around the fountain, and it's good for up to FIVE people on the boat. So a pretty good experience and nice if you have a full boat. You pay online through a QR code and they put you on a boat right away. Props to whoever is in the front row steering and pedaling because it will be leg day for them! Highly recommend to bring a fan to fan them for all their hard work especially on warm, hotter days. My wife planned a fun day out in Orlando that included a Swan Boat rental at Lake Eola. She purchased our ticket for $8 through Groupon (what a deal!). The wait to get on the ride was only 45-minutes, which flew by during our walk around Lake Eola. FYI, the staff is utilizing appropriate PPE and sanitation standards where required. The Swan Boats are pedal-powered, so be prepared to put in some work! It is quite an effort to cruise around the lake, especially on windy days where the current overtakes your physical exertion. Regardless, the interaction with the beautiful swans, glamorous view of Lake Eola, and close-up-look of the fountain, make all the work worthwhile. I can see how the Swan Boat Ride can be viewed as a beautiful romantic journey around Lake Eola with a loved one. Yet, I can also see how a blazing hot Florida day, big belly, or blown out knee can put a damper on the experience. At the end of the day, all that matters is that the Swan Boat Ride made my wife happy, so yes, I would do this again and recommend the Swan Boat ride to friends and fellow Yelpers! We took a nice little pedal around Lake Eola in a swan boat yesterday. Things to keep in mind for your rental: 1. It takes 30 minutes to pedal the perimeter of the lake, so book extra time if you want time to chill or float and have a snack. 2. Florida is hot, hotter than the surface of the sun. They do provide a sunshade, but it won't stop you from baking during your trip. If you're fire avoidant, I would recommend boating in late fall or winter. 3. You do have to pedal the entire time, so expect a small leg workout while you're out there. 4. The park is shaded and provides nice scenery. There's also music and food on site. 5. Parking can be difficult to find, so plan accordingly. Overall, it's worth the $15 for you to five people. read more

Rude staff. We walked in after another group and the man working asked my husband if we were with them, he said no. Apparently the guy didn't hear him because he then got mad and basically yelled the question at my husband, who said no. Then he pushed us back behind a gate. I feel like my family got scammed here in Orlando, on vacation and I decided that this would be a fun thing for us to do. It was relatively inexpensive so we park and walk around the park which was very nice we got to take lots of pictures and see lots of different birds , once we get to the swan boat Rental, I put all my information in the system, for the wavier the guy literally scans my card for payment then turns on the Dobler app for the weather says there's going to be lightning and we normally close at 20 mph. Do you want to go out yes or no no one else is coming in behind you so we decide, not to go out and of course I asked him. Why didn't you check the weather before you scanned my payment in your system???? So now I have to wait for 5-10 days before I can get a refund!!!! Oh and those lightning strikes came 2 hrs and 15 mins later so I'm not sure if he did that so he can get credited for the sale or what but I was very unhappy and I would not recommend that's no way to run business. A true Orlando classic. Quintessential downtown. This Is Lake Eola and it's an absolute must for any resident or visitor in this amazing city to immerse yourself in what is the most iconic spot (aside from the big mouse) in the city of Orlando. We actually scored a groupon that was only $7 or $8 for a 30 minute swan boat that accommodates up to 5 people and 1400 lbs....not a problem in most cases, but just for the record, now you know. We decided to take the kids down on a sunny summer day, so our plan was to get there at opening at 10am. We arrived and only waited a couple minutes for one of the two nice young ladies prepping the boats came over, toon our voucher, hooked up the kids with life jackets and off we went. Ok, let me just interject one thing in case you've never piloted a paddle boat. The harder you peddle, the SLOWER you go. Basically you're spinning the paddles so fast that they can't effectively get a "grip" on the water. What's my point?? Enjoy the ride. Take it nice and steady pace. If you do this, pretty much ensures you can make it a full loop around the lake and be back in 30 minutes. Today the fountain was turned off, but that allowed us to get super close and get a good look at it while being cleaned. We really enjoyed this good old fashion family fun. Last time I did this was nearly 20 years ago with my now wife on a romantic cruise around the lake. It's not fancy, expensive, trendy or swanky...but it is truly representative of our amazing city of Orlando. There's no doubt that if you're heading to Lake Eola, then why not take the swans out?? I honestly think alot of people are not being too honest when reviewing this ride. But hey, I'll start with a Pro: My daughters loved it. And it's a great picture prop opportunity. Here's my truth: I've used this service twice. Both times after getting back to the dock I've said "I'm never doing this again". #1 Paddling is challenging. You can feel the age on these boats. It feels like a cycling up a steep hill for 30 minutes. YOU WILL LIKELY BREAK A SWEAT. #2 These boats need major upgrades and/or replacements. You would think that such a nice area would have the best equipment and offer the best service. Think again. (Mind you the ladies there were polite). They need paddle boats that are easier to paddle, much cleaner, can move faster, some sort of fanning to keep the riders cool and fresh, a timer etc) This is not a service, it's a challenge! #3 The lake needs cleaning. I know that's the city's job but it's where you'll be riding these boats. Overall I prefer leaving this ride for the first timers to try out, I'd rather go visit some of the other awesome stuff downtown has to offer. And go get an icecream at Greenery Creamery. read more

Had a fantastic time paddling around Lake Eola on the Swan Boats with my husband and our 2 year old grand daughter. We arrived at opening time and were quickly seated in our swan boat with no wait time. The cost is $15 per half hour for up to 4 people. We enjoyed our ride but the paddling is tough and it was hot that day. I worried that a 30 minute ride might be a challenge for a 'new' 2 year old, but our grand daughter was fascinated by the water and other swan boats out on the lake so she did just fine. However, upon arrival there was nobody to attend to us. The girl who works (Blue hair, cropped shirt, tattoos, piercings) came late, running. She was in her car and not tending to customers. She then gave the excuse that they close at 6:30, and when we spoke to the equally as dismissive manager she told us that the last boats can depart at 6:30. Two different excuses. The girl then changed her excuse and said it was lighting and storming. It was not. It's florida, it's always cloudy. She kept walking away from us and speaking very rudely. Her manager, whose contact is saved as Yoshi, was also speaking to us as if we are idiots. They refused to accommodate and listen to our concerns. Overall, do not waste your time and energy. The girl working the stand (blue hair with face piercings) was not present at the location when we arrived and ran over from her car when she saw us all waiting and then tried to tell us they close at 6:30 when the sign behind her and online both stated 7 pm. The prices are per 30 minutes and you really don't need more than 30 minutes. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. We realized we were 5 minutes too late (5:35) which was fine, we were having such a good time with the swans we weren't terribly upset but decided just to check anyway. The gate was open and a worker was by the boats, we were walking over to ask her about the boats, again, not in a rush or looking to fight for a ride, the kids really wanted to just be with the ducks anyways. As we were walking through the OPEN gate someone from behind yells "WHAT ARE YOU DOING???" As if we were about to step into some danger, so we whipped around to look at what was going on behind us. A girl in a cart pulls up and is looking at us like we had just ruined her day. I don't know if it was a race thing or she was just having a bad day but wow did she lay it on us hard. We asked her if we were in the right place (we were a party of 8 and had purchased 1 Groupon and were planning on purchasing a second boat) when she said no, then told asked us again why we were trying to walk through the OPEN gate where the boats and the check ins clearly were. We told her we understood we showed up later but when we saw the gate open and 2 swan boats left at the dock we thought maybe it was still going. Still fuming mad she tells us again "NO! YOU'RE TOO LATE, CAN'T YOU SEE I'M PACKING UP?" and just completely let us have it for absolutely no reason. The whole time this conversation was happening she was blocking the walkway with the go-cart so EVERYONE had to walk AROUND the cart and so everyone heard her being ridiculously rude. We said okay and started walking away when my brother in law said no, we need to know her name, that is not fair of her to yell at us when we just had an honest to goodness question and were in no way pushy or mean. She got REALLY mad and started yelling at him, telling him she didn't have to give him her name, and kept yelling. The rest of our group had walk away to go back to looking at the ducks and we could STILL hear her screaming at him. We would have taken a simple sorry, you missed it, try again next time and that totally would have been fine, our family lives here and we would have gladly given them the Groupon for a different time, they live near by, it was not a big deal but WOW. She turned the whole mood and made a fool of herself in front of my family, my children, and all of the people who had to walk around her cart as she was yelling. Again, we do not know her name because she refused to give it to us and went crazy after we asked. She riled herself up for no reason under a misunderstanding while we simply had no idea we were doing something "wrong" by walking to the nearest worker we saw to ask a simple question.
