We've been with them for over 6 years and when it came time to sell they acted as our realtor got our place sold. Some key highlights: -Always filled our rental quickly if we had a tenant move out. -Fixed any maintenance issues quickly and gave us the best possible prices for repair, often doing the work themselves and doing it well. -Maintained excellent communication despite being half a world away using a combination of text, email, and voice when appropriate. They were always available. -Worked on outside when having to deal with a difficult neighbor. We've rented out a property for over 10 years now and having the right property manager will make or break the rental experience. These guys are the right ones. I have been a tenant with Rental Homes USA for 6 years now - and honestly I have had the best experience with them! When I first applied for the home I currently am in - Chuck was AMAZING to me!!! He worked with me thru the entire process. We had very open communication of what was expected of me and what I was needing and wanting from them being a single mother and a new tenant. While being in the home I had very minor issues - however recently I lost the AC in the house. I submitted my claim thru the portal which is set up for you when you become not only one of their clients but you become part of the family! After I submitted my request to have work done on the AC we had communication. They told me they had reached out to someone to come look at the unit and I should hear from them shortly. Well within 30 minutes I had a call from the AC technician and he was at my house within the hour. He told me he was not able to fix the system but he would be in touch with me on how we were going to proceed with getting it fixed. Since the system was going to be replaced Chuck provided a AC to the house to help keep it cool and also providing comfort for my family! Anytime I have had to reach out to Rental Homes USA it has always been very pleasant and great. I am sad that I will no longer be renting from them, since I have purchased my own home out of state, but if I was to return back to the area they would be the first ones I would reach out too! I rented a townhouse from Chuck the broker at rental homes USA. I went into the app used to pay rent and request maintenance to report a leaking roof. I was called a few days later by check and he suggested it was condensation from the air conditioning unit in the attic. I also reported the back fence was falling over which was never addressed. There was a miscommunication at the end of my lease. I was contacted after my lease had expired five or six months prior about not renewing my lease. When I moved out the person to do my walk-through never showed up for our appointment so when I got my deposit back I was charged a fee call a "coordination fee". If I was the homeowner I would want my property maintained in a better manner and my tenant communicated with in a better manner. COMMUNICATION IS VERY POOR. read more

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. Don't make the same mistake we did and disregard all the reviews. Our experience renting from Rental Homes USA was the worst we've ever had in our lives. After moving all our stuff in and living in our rental home for only 5 days, we came home to a sewage backup caused by roots in the pipe from the house to the street. We immediately moved out to a motel since we had to push all our furniture ourselves into certain rooms and there was no room for beds, and after days of our over-the-top cooperation of staying at the house all day moving our own things around to allow work to be done, we get a sudden hostile and threatening call from Ryan. He tells us that we have one week to move out of the house completely or he will call the police on us and condemn the home (which he later lied about and denied). This was extremely shocking, as we had never been anything but cooperative or did anything to deserve to be threatened. We never acted at all like we wouldn't leave if it came to it, and we even offered to move out and stay in a motel with our stuff in storage all out of our own pocket (since Rental Homes USA would not offer a dime in assistance) until repairs were done in a month or so. But that wasn't good enough because now the time had become three months since the company he hired only had two workers. This was a on a Friday night, and all the rental offices were closed until Tuesday as it was Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, so we had THREE DAYS to find a new place to live because of Ryan's threat. My family has never been treated so hostilely and so disrespectfully by a company that we were so above and beyond cooperative with while taking such a huge financial loss. I can't imagine anyone else would have gone along with pushing their own furniture around for days without any security of a home to live in and losing so much money and still being as respectful and polite as we were. And after only living there 5 days, we got charged with Rental Homes USA's full water, waste water, and electric bills for over $550. Insanely enough their excuse is that one of us being stuck sitting in the half garage room during the day to keep an eye on our furniture and help them with their continuous demands and confusions during their repairs while we lived in a motel with our cat constitutes a family "living" in a 3 bedroom house. The rest of the house other than the windowless half garage room was completely unlivable due to it being torn apart for repairs and covered in dangerous sewer water, so much so that Ryan said we had to move immediately in the middle of this pandemic because it was "condemned." This company has absolutely no care, concern, or responsibility for their renters. They didn't give us a dime for our forced and extremely urgent move, or our motel which any respectable landlord would cover when their property causes their tenants to have to stay somewhere else. And when called to ask for something as cheap as the water, waste water and electric bills they ran up repairing their own property while we lived in a motel, Ryan was again dismissive and wouldn't put out a cent to offer even the slightest compensation for the unimaginable horror our family endured at the hands of this despicable and nearly criminal company. I can't urge you enough to not put yourself through this like we have. No matter how nice a home may seem, it truly, sincerely is not worth it to deal with these people who have absolutely no compassion or respect for anyone. We literally looked at these same reviews and scoffed, and thought surely, they cannot be that bad. But they are. You can be certain that if you have any issue at all, which is bound to happen eventually, you'll be treated as a nuisance and an animal, and residing under this landlord will be the worst experience of your life. It has been of ours. We made the mistake of taking the risk with this questionable business, but please, PLEASE don't put yourself and your family through this. I have been renting with Rental Homes USA in Virginia Beach for almost a year now. I moved into the town home which was very clean and managed well from the day that I moved in. My direct contact and property liaison is Ryan who is always quick to answer my questions and facilitate with vendors for repairs needed on my property. Minor repairs have come up over the year and they have always been quick to resolve the issue within a day or two. I am happy to find a place where as a renter, I can trust when something is not working it will quickly be repaired. Do NOT use them as your property manager!!! I used them for 3 years while I was stationed in D.C. They allowed my tenants to renew their lease for 3 years without doing any inspections and when the tenants moved out, of course left my house in shambles. They don't act like they work for you. Also they are super lazy. They also tried to talk me into paying for things the tenants messed up. for example the carpet in my living room was badly damaged and they tried to convince me that the carpet was so old it needed to be replaced. I just had the carpet replaced 3 years ago. Chuck did that with a few things after the tenants left. Save yourself the headache. You'd probably get more work from a crackhead. I only gave them 1 star because it's required to write a review. Now I know what to expect with my next property manager. read more

We rented with Chuck and Jackie for almost a year. Granted they let us out of our lease with just and $800 fee, they will nickel and dime your security deposit. Our deposit was $1350.00 we only received $852.00 back. It took over 45 days to get the deposit back and they charged us for things not listed in the lease agreement. We cleaned the house before we left, mowed the yard, used the weed eater around the edges. We knew we were going to be charged for carpet cleaning so that was expected. Chuck even talked to us after the walk through and said everything was fine, except the carpets needed cleaning. Upon receiving our refund check and the break down of charges I was in shock. They charged us $100.00 for round up for some weeds on the patio. Over $100 for re-caulking the toilet in the master bathroom(which hadn't changed in the short time we lived there, we lived there less than a year) , $75.00 for cleaning ,which we had already done. Take in to consideration that we lived there less than a year, we aren't messy people and we keep our house clean, and I steam cleaned, and bleached everything before I left. That place was pretty darn clean! They also charged a $100.00 coordination fee for services for vendors (that part was definitely not in the lease). I believe we should've been charged for the carpet cleaning and that's it. The lease also says that your rental must be professionally painted before you leave. We did not change the paint in the house we were renting so it wasn't necessary, BUT when we moved in we noticed that the house had obviously not been professionally painted before our arrival. There were places where they didn't paint all the way to the ceiling, tape that was painted over, and different colors of paints showing through the new paint. I read another review that said read your lease with these people carefully and I agree. I also read another review about waiving your military rights, we also signed this paper. We did not take it to a JAG and signed the paper and waved our rights. Lesson learned. We should have looked around at other rental agencies that respect and appreciate the military. Especially since Hampton Roads has a lot of military. One more thing, we were out of state when we found the house on RentalHomesUSA, after Jackie had said "hey you guys have been approved for the house." She then throws in "oh, by the way there is construction behind the house and a little bit of your back yard had been taken away." I say oh ok how much? Jackie replies "only 15 feet" Only fifteen feet?! The pictures on the website showed the back yard before construction so it looked like a good size. SInce we were in a hurry to find a place (military remember) we said okay. Plus she had said construction wasn't so bad. When we got there the yard was tiny, not once did we even sit out there and enjoy ourselves. The construction was also loud and annoying. They started bright and early and i usually couldn't sleep. Now I know the construction is not their fault, but to tell someone after they've already been approved for the house, knowing we were in a hurry and out of state. Rented a home from Rental Homes USA for 2 years. They were nothing but good landlords for me as any issues I had were taken care of immediately. Also, upon my vacating of the property, my entire security deposit was returned. As long as you follow the check list they supply you, then you are good to go and you will receive you security deposit back no questions asked. Be sure to read their rental contract thoroughly or take it to a military lawyer. The agents who work for this rental company are extremely unprofessional and rude. My husband and I are both military members stationed in the area and were looking to rent on a short notice of orders. Jackie Pierce was disrespectful in our business conversations and not helpful with answering questions about the property. During our lease term we reported many property issues requiring necessary maintenance to the property manager, Chuck Warren, who failed to fix the discrepancies. Subsequently the property went unfixed until the end of our one year lease and when the owners moved back the problems that had been reported were still broken. On top of the previous problems our lease was cut short because the owners decided to move back on short notice. While we recognize that to be no fault of rental homes USA they did nothing to assist in the transition. When we originally moved into the property there were quite a few problems that were noted on the move in inspection form. So when we moved out Chuck gaffed off the move out inspection telling us that it was the owners call on what they wanted fixed. We were very unhappy with this and waited 40 days to receive our deposit refund. The initial deposit was one months rent and a $450 non-refundable pet deposit so when we moved out that non-refundable deposit should have gone to pay for minor repairs cause by the animal. Instead the the company deducted an extra $75 for repairs with out justification. The company also charged us an extra $150 for unexplained repairs. When we addressed the situation with Chuck he refused to handle it and pawned us off onto the owners! A few months ago we looked at another rental homes USA property that was occupied by a military couple. The tenants wife expressed to us how unhappy she was with the company as well. After re-reviewing our contract we found a military clause and hidden verbiage that protects them from any litigations that could possibly be filed against them. Our best advice especially if you are in the military is to stay away from this company! They take advantage of military members and conduct business in a very unprofessional manner. read more
