When I was relocating from out of state, I didn't have much time to do so. I went online and found RENU and I was immediately contacted by Ashley Smith. Ashley was incredible to work with. She understood my sense urgency and took time to listen to exactly what I was looking for. She narrowed it down to two great neighborhoods and went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me and went to each location and videoed the apartments, it was like I was there. THIS WAS PERFECT! I was able to pick my home based off of her knowledge and her ability to show me exactly what I was looking for. Ashley is not just "another person on the other end", she is exceptional in her craft. If she's unable to help you, she will recommend someone that can (but I PROMISE, SHE CAN HELP!). Plus the online ten eBay portal is so easy to navigate. The absolute worst experience with a property management. I worked with a leasing agent that ensured us the property we were interested in was clean and move in ready. being that we were locating from another state we viewed the photos of the house and everything seemed to be communicated well. On move in day we arrived at the house that is infested with Spiders, scorpions and other pests. The house smelled strongly of mold and the back door weather sealing didn't even seal around the door. After submitting photos and trying to work with the staff and come to an agreement to move to a move in Ready property or have the house professionally cleaned... Madeline S. a supervisor refused and stated it had already been cleaned and the house did not meet the qualifications to be recleaned or for a lease transfer. In fact Madeline said it is up to their standards and their rentals are as is. When I asked to speak with someone else or another supervisor she stated she was the highest up and no one else could be spoken to. Madeline had zero remorse and took zero accountability for the condition of the property, her solution and way of handling it is simply copy and pasting generic emails stating " We understand this may not be the resolution you were hoping for" and refused even a phone call so she could have documentation. I let Madeline know that their own employee even apologized for the condition of the house and stated it was unacceptable and Madeline denied that was ever said and I can no longer reach the employee that was understanding of the situation. We requested the house be recleaned and Madeline said it was cleaned 4 days prior and doesn't meet the qualifications for another cleaning. read more

I always try to look for the positive reviews and assume that the negative reviews are isolated incidents. Apparently not. We've been in our rental property for less than 6 months. We've been plagued with plumbing problems and are currently at two weeks of sewage backing up in to the house. After opening the initial maintenance request to fix the plumbing issues, RENU has gone radio silent. The phone number they provide to call is never answered. There is a number to text, but there's been no response over a week. We currently have an open complaint with the Better Business Bureau hoping to get this resolved. While we were looking at properties and found this one, RENU was very good on signing new tentants. Once you're signed a lease, pray you don't have any maintenance issues. read more

Absolutely terrible company. I rented a property in the State of Georgia that was managed by Homeriver Property Managment. Unfortunately, Renu took over during our lease. When we moved out, they attempted to keep our security deposit for a bunch of frivolous charges and home improvements. They are trying to charge us for landscaping improvments, pressure washing, gutter cleaning and all sorts of things that are the landlord's responsibility. The exterior of the house was in poor condition when we moved in. They are also trying to charge us for painting a bunch of walls and cleaning. We have lots of pictures that show how clean it was. I've tried to reason with them in good faith, but I've been dealing with Tamaki Guy and Karina Ferrera, and both take an attitude of "prove to us there was no damage". That's not how it works...although I can probably do so with the pictures I have. I told them I would file suit, and they refused to provide the address for service to their registered agent. I also filed a BBB complaint, but instead of addressing the items with BBB mediating, MS. Tamaki Guy simply responded as follows: "Hello XXXXX, Per the Security Deposit Disposition letter you received all Security Deposit refund disputes need to go through our resident move out team. This team reviewed your complaint and provided documentation and provided you with an updated disposition letter. This letter is attached for your convenience, but was also mailed to you on 2/28/2024. As always, RENU takes your feedback seriously. Thank You for being a valued RENU Resident! I find this company has representatives that don't care about the elderly, single parents, and those with disabilities. In fact, their behaviors are used to exploit and manipulate those of these categories. There seems no internal recourse and their representatives like to stay hidden on-line so as to avoid real questions and real issues. The property I have been renting under them has been neglected by previous tenants and is marketed and leased, though no maintenance of fireplace and no control of pests...on our case, mice, though it was reported. I find this company creating facade of beauty, it offering no actual basis to back this up. Do no rent a property through this management company...my warning. I have lost over $3,000 because of them...and possibly more when it is all said and done. I would spend money fighting them in court, but am certain they would use their millions to attempt to bury me...to protect their negligent homeowners who seek to milk the elderly, single parents and those with disabilities....all reflect me. read more

Echoing a lot of similar reviews - if you can, avoid renting anything managed by RENU. Corporate ownership has cornered the market in a lot of places, which makes this tough! RENU took over our lease about halfway through our second year. They immediately tried a mid-lease rent increase, charged a fee to pay rent via their portal, and threatened us twice with fees or eviction if we didn't upload photo evidence of HVAC filter changes. Maintenance basically stopped once they took over - they require multiple estimates, taking a month to repair our AC unit, and cancelling requests outright if estimates came out too expensive. Communication is awful. Typical response time was a week or longer for an answer to a request or text - there's no number to call...everything is handled via text message and their email ticketing system. While I genuinely liked our Property Manager and found her helpful and kind, it was obvious she was overloaded and not empowered to make decisions. Same for maintenance...they were clearly beholden to management and a cost target. The worst experience was move-out. I'm unable to mention the specifics of our particular rental, but I hope you'll still find this helpful. Check other reviews for an idea of what you'll get charged with. RENU has a lengthy "appeals process" to dispute any charges. You'll be required to send in photographs and justification from the start. Again, contact is only via email. This team is small and very slow to reply (though you'll get auto-replies). You only get 1 appeal...and once you submit, their decision is final! If you must rent from them, photograph and document everything - meaning every inch of the home - on both move in and move out day: baseboards, floors, closets, walls, ceilings, HVAC filters & install dates, vents, smoke detector batteries & dates, lawn care, appliances, fans, and fixtures. Be ridiculously thorough on your inspection form (take photos of the form, too). You will need all of this evidence when you move out. Above all, know and stand up for your rights! If the law entitles you to an in-person walk-through, insist on it; at bare minimum, you should insist on seeing the full move out inspection report (including photos)! Remember that time is of the essence: deadlines apply to landlords as well as renters. I'd encourage you to always be kind and professional when talking to their folks - but remember that RENU works for the property owner, not for you. Their job is to maximize rental income, minimize maintenance costs, and reduce or eliminate turnover costs when you leave. read more

My experience with RENU Management has been frustrating due to poor communication and lack of accountability. The HOA began issuing lawn maintenance violations in May, which RENU received but failed to notify me about until September--four months later. By then, fines had accrued significantly, yet RENU held me fully responsible despite their delay in relaying the notices. Despite the lease stating that RENU is responsible for prompt communication. When I requested documentation of when they received and forwarded the notices, RENU ignored my requests and instead blamed the situation on the HOA. To make matters worse, they automatically withdrew the fines from my auto-pay account without informing me. Keep in mind, this was happening over many months of emails, which they ignored until I bother them 'enough' There's many other reasons to avoid this company, besides the lawn issue.. RENU's unprofessionalism, lack of timely communication, and refusal to take responsibility have caused unnecessary stress and financial loss. I would not recommend working with them. read more

They are theives. They have applied various charges to my account to which are incorrect. They claim to have incurred charges but cannot show proof...refuse to show proof to justify charges. Stated they would refund some of the fees, have not seen a penny. They have added 196 of overcharges to my account. 6 months of utility bills (they were supposed to pay and I was to reimburse them for) were saved and submitted in one months bill. On top of the ach fees, they added almost 500 of past due utility bills to my account and forced me to pay it on top of my rent, with no advance notice. Not an ethical company...at all! read more

We moved into this 4-bedroom house 6 months ago. The 3rd day after moving in I went grocery shopping to come home to a FLOOD!!! My bathroom leaked water from under the toilet all the way to the living room, this was just the beginning of our nightmare. Homeriver Group Jacksonville property management sent us a plumber after a week. Well, during that week there was raw black sewage coming from my son's toilet, bathtub, and under his floors. The plumber went outside and said there were roots ROOTS for God's sake in the pipes well he couldn't fix it so they sent another plumber a week later meanwhile we are putting up with the smell of sewage all this time. This plumbing ness has been going on for 6 months, the black mold has been going on for 6 months, and the sound of an electric shortage with it could blow up has been going on for 6 months. Homeriver group stopped answering our emails, texts, and phone calls. After 4 months of no communication, they finally sent us an email saying that they did our home to Renu management. This is by far is the WORST experience I've had with a management company. (RENU-Nashville). RENU took over my property from another management company. Claimed I all of a sudden owed a security deposit 2 years into my lease and 4 months after I had renewed my lease for year two (even though I had qualified for a security deposit coverage policy). They Attempted to evict me claiming I failed to pay the security and rent (they locked my resident portal not allowing me to continue to pay rent). I had overnighted the $3700 cashiers check for the security deposit and rent as instructed once I was " advised" I had to pay it (10-14 days after being notified). Provided the proof (tracking number ) and delivery receipt proof showing one of their employees signed for the envelope. They lost the cashiers check and still attempted to evict me as if I defaulted on something. I subsequently had to get a lawyer involved and provided all the emails and proof they had the cashiers check.(They eventually found the check) There was no accountability, no apology from anyone on their team for losing the cashiers check and wrongfully putting me through months of threatening to evict me. (Yes it took that long for them to locate my check). SMH Then they lied and stated the owner was "selling " the property and I had to move.I asked if I could move a month early from my lease expiring since I was being forced to move...in case I located a new residence and was denied that ability. Finally, I moved and awaited the return of the security deposit. Only to receive a letter saying I was being charged $1400 claiming the whole house needed to be repainted. (Pictures attached to post). Charged for me not pressure washing their rental property and drive way (not apart of my lease) and then some other minor.. inaccurate charges. I immediately disputed the charges through the email listed on the letter. As the walls at best may have needed a few touch ups in certain spots. Definitely nothing beyond normal wear. No response. I emailed several times (with pictures attached) and called several times leaving messages. No return call nor response . To say they are unprofessional and unfair is an under statement. They handled me horribly. I have filed a complaint with the BBB back when the cashiers check disaster was occurring. And it's looking like I will have to file a lawsuit to have my security deposit returned. As i still have not received the courtesy of a response or a review into my concerns pertaining to my security deposits. I am a single mom and work hard for every dime. I need my money. I refuse to let them bully me because they are a big company. They claim they are a trusted rental resource. I would not trust them. Renters be aware!! read more

STAY AWAY! Impossible to reach a live person. When you do reach a live person by way of tech support an offshore agent requests your birth date and drivers license before they will give you the code so you can give yourself a tour of the property. If you do it online you must submit an actual rental application in order to get the instructions. Impossible to get a tour of a property by a live person. No way to ask any questions. Owned by a foreign LLC There is a reason this property has been sitting empty since last November when it was bought for $1000. RENU is a scamming, money hungry, soulless company. I contacted RENU for a home rental. My roommate called at 12pm to confirm the availability of the rental. She toured at 1pm. I submitted my application and paid my application fee at 4:30pm. When my roommate went to start her application no less than one our later, the home had already been taken off the market. The rental process takes about two weeks. RENU was already in the process of signing someone to the home, KNEW that they were signing someone to the home, and still let us tour and submit applications. Taking my application fee. When I called for a refund considering they signed someone else to the home less than five hours after *confirming* availability, they denied my request and said that I could use the application for another one of their homes. AS IF I would rent from a company that treats potential renters this way!! They put you on hold for an hour, the phone call waiting music is horrendous, you will never speak to a representative that is in the same city as you, let alone the same country. And don't bother sending a message through their website, because they will never email you back. If I could give a company 0/5 stars I would. RENU is a scam and not to be trusted. read more

RENTERS BEWARE!!! I agree with this. It happened to me too! Renu property management will collect several applications on ONE property and will continue to advertise the property for rent. We applied for a property paid $45 each in application fees and never received a correspondence regarding the status of our application. A week after we applied I finally called RENU property and spoke with the property manager. She stated they were still showing the property and had not started processing applications. I called 3 days after that and was told it's first come first serve and someone applied before us and the property was rented. I was married when I rented the unit, but my husband and I were separated. He never lived there, and he never paid a penny on me moving in or out. They gave me a deposit in both our names with his name first. I now have a check for over $2000 that I can't cash. The house was renovated using very cheap products. The door nobs had to be replaced, the facet needed to be constantly tightened, and the handles on the refrigerator door needed to be tightened at least once a month. The final straw was the neighbor who built the legal house behind his parents' house, who stole my generator out of my backyard next to my back door. I was paying $2200, and they told me they were raising the rent to $2400. The lock box was on the front door from the time I moved in to the time I moved out. I put in work order to have it removed, and that simply never happened. read more

We have lived in our home for 1 1/2 years and were waiting for our lease renewal offer... they gave us the lease renewal late with less than 30 days to sign, requiring a NEW deposit (of $3000, with no acknowledgment of the deposit we paid before), and say if we don't sign by the short date they require we will be automatically enrolled in a month to month (at an unknown price because they did not state how much that would even be) I fucking HATE this company. We have been at our rental since December of 2022. We have had several issues with this management company. The most current situation involves us being without air conditioning for 5 days now in Florida and it has been 90 degrees outside. We requested maintenance the day that we lost air conditioning and the maintenance company has been transferring us from department to department, giving us a run around and not getting a technician out to our home. This company treats us as if we are a number and not people paying for a home and deserving of safe and comfortable living conditions. Stupid us because we should have believed the reviews. This company is truly a bunch of slumlords. This has been the worst experience with a property management company I have ever encountered. They spend more time blaming each other than actually dealing with issues. The place was disgusting when we moved in, piss, pubic hair, fecal matter, mold, dead bugs, live bugs, a shower that won't drain and caused me a foot infection, flooding the basement when we use the washer, the sinks back up into the shower, a broken fence, getting slammed by a closet clothes rod that was improperly installed, I could go on. Their remedy? $75. What an insult. Believe all the negative reviews, I was told not to, but boy was that dumb of me. read more

When we first signed a lease at our last rental property, it was with a different property management company. This management company allowed us to use Rhino Security Deposit insurance. This allows you to pay small monthly payments to the insurance company in lieu of a large sum deposit. The lease was taken over first by Atlas Real Estate. We renewed our lease with Atlas after the first lease expired. We had little issues with them, other than less than stellar response to maintenance requests. Shortly after that, Renu took over the property management. They were terrible. They never responded to maintenance requests, and virtually disappeared after taking over until it was time to renew our lease. They then sent us a renewal lease, which increased the rent significantly and demanded a cash deposit as they said they did not do business with Rhino Deposit Insurance. It turns out it was good that they demanded a deposit, because that is what made us decide not to renew, and to move to a bigger place. After we moved out, they sent us an utterly fraudulent and defamatory list of charges totaling over $1300. One claims was that the entire house smelled like weed. My wife is a 911 dispatcher and I work in a safety-sensistive transportation job. We are both subject to random drug testing and would lose our jobs if we smoked weed. Neither of us has ever even smoked tobacoo, let alone marijuana. Part of the charge was $500 to paint the whole house because of the "weed smell" and peeling paint (which is one of the things we complained about while we lived there that they ignored.) They also charged us $150 to rekey the entire house and have 3 keys made. This despite the fact that we sent them proof that we had left 3 keys (not only 2 as required) in the lockbox when we moved out. I responded to them that I was disputing the charges as they were fraudulent and defamatory. They basically responded with "Prove it." This is clearly why they don't work with deposit insurance. Because they know it is easier to refuse to refund deposit money, than it is to demand payment from someone who didn't put down a deposit. I reminded the agent I was communicating with that she didn't have any of my money, so I didn't need to prove anything to get it back. She had the burden of proof when demanding money from me. They then sent the claims to Rhino Deposit Insurance, who blindly approved the charges and is now demanding that we pay them. The property in question has still not been rented out, and they have had to lower the rent to almost as low as it was when we moved into the place more than 2 years ago. Since it is still available for rent and therefore for self-tours through Rently, my wife and I went to view the place and recorded the conditions. The first thing we found was that one of the keys we had made, and left at the property when we moved out was the key in the lockbox that we were able to use to enter the property. Thus proving that their claim to have "rekeyed" the house was fraudulent. We also noted and documented that the "whole-house" paint job was clearly done by the same incompetent person who painted it before we moved in, as they just painted a single coat of paint directly over all the spots which were peeling from the previous poor paint job, and some of those spots are already peeling again. It was something that should have been fixed while we lived there and requested it, and therefore is not something that we are responsible for. And the paint job that was done was certainly not worth the $500 they are claiming. We also noted and documented that the carpets have not so much as been vacuumed since we moved out, let alone cleaned. If that place actually did smell like weed, it would have been necessary to clean the carpets to get rid of that small. So, yet another claim proven fraudulent. They tried charging us for having to replace two smoke detectors. These are smoke detectors that malfunctioned, and which we requested be replaced, along with the rest of the smoke detectors, as I checked all of them after the 2 malfunctioned and determined that they were all significantly older than 10 years. (NFPA states smoke detectors must be replaced after 10 years from their manufacture date.) They tried charging us for cleaning the bathtubs. Dirty tubs is literally the definition of "wear and tear" which is something landlords cannot charge tenants for. Further, they did a terrible job of cleaning the tubs, and caulked directly over the mold a mildew that we found when the caulking came loose while we lived there. Again, an incompetent job done, and then charged to us as though a professional did it, when it is something we should not have been responsible for in the first place. I could go on and on as virtually everything on their move-out charges list was fraudulent. Suffice to say they are nothing but fraudsters, and I recommend staying as far away from them as possible. read more

I am moving to KCMO and decided to try RENU so that I could rent a property in the area. They manage a majority of the homes in the Park Hill area, which is where my family really wanted to be. After filling out my application I was notified by Noelle Jenkins, that time was important and I needed to "complete my lease and pay my security deposit." Her email did not contain a lease agreement, nor did it include a link to the lease agreement or to anywhere that I could pay my security deposit. I immediately responded with multiple questions regarding the issues at hand, to which she never replied. She mentioned in her email that I could call her at any time, but never left a POC number. I tried to call the standard corporate number on their website and was notified that she was busy and would return my call. She never returned any of the 4 calls I made. She also never replied to the 5 emails I sent to her. RENU took two application fees ($120 in total) and then "ghosted me," as the kids say. Because of this my family and I decided to utilize another management company. I had read good things about RENU, so I thought that this would be a good fit, however my experience was abysmal. If you are looking to rent in the KCMO area, I strongly recommend that you got with anyone else. read more

This has the worst living condition of my life. I moved in May 2023 and I've had to file a maintenance request every month since then. From rodents in the home a day after I moved in to the ongoing flooding in the basement (March 2024) living here has been hell! I've issues with windows that don't close all the way, plumbing issues and a leaking roof. The worst part is that in the last several weeks I've tried to get in touch with them and it's been nearly impossible. There's just no way to get in contact with them. They will leave a message and then don't pick up when I call back. Then I won't hear from them for days. The home I am renting was with a different management company and they switched to Renu, so I had no option if I want to stay. After 1 year, they demanded that everyone who was using Rhino deposit insurance instead pay a cash deposit. They will split that between 3 months, but that's still about $650 added to the rent bill for 3 months in a row. They asked me to upload my rental insurance policy which I've had for 10 years. I thought I did, but apparently I neglected to press one more button. Honestly, its designed to be confusing. You are on screen 1 and add the information, and then it goes to screen 2 where you have to do the same exact thing. They added charges for December and January to pay for liability insurance that I already have. I contacted them because I shouldn't have to pay for it - and - they have no system where you can adjust your profile and get notified if there is a new charge added. How often do you jump into your payment portal? Only when you are paying the rent. I never was notified that there is a lease renewal fee of $100 plus the liability insurance premium that they added after I called them at the beginning of December. Yesterday, the person who I spoke to said they'd talk to the property manager about removing it. Today, they only removed one of those fees. They have it set up so that unless you check your portal every day, you will not know new fees are added and be late to pay additional fees when you pay your rent. I hate this company. It is causing me to rethink whether I will stay here when my lease is up again. They are taking advantage of people and they are very difficult to deal with. Who is my property manager? No idea. Title: Beware of RENU I will keep everyone updated UPDATE: Dear Renu Management, 05/16/2024 I am writing to address the recent notice we received on 01/23/2024 regarding charges for damages and repairs at 3084 Elora Lane, which was our residence until 12/28/2023. On, I received a phone call from Aaron Rodger stating that I must pay $6,191.20, which was then reduced to approximately $5,800, and finally to $3,500 within five minutes. This abrupt demand is concerning, especially since I have been trying to reach Kathy and pastdebtcollections@renumgt.com for almost a month about these rent charges and the outstanding bill. It is disheartening to receive a response only after posting a negative review and to be threatened with potential credit implications if payment is not made immediately. I have previously sent pictures and communicated with Chase Oliver and the resident move-out team, demonstrating that the house was left cleaner than when we moved in. Despite this, I continue to face pressure to pay an amount without a proper review of the evidence I provided multiple times. I am still unsure who the appropriate contact is, as I am repeatedly directed to the resident move-out team without receiving adequate responses. On January 29, 2024, Chase Oliver left me the following message: I quote "I will review this account. I believe there may be an error. Allow me an opportunity to further review and I will be in touch. I see the issues; you are listed under two addresses: one with a zero balance and this one with the balance due for 3084 Elora Lane, Fairfield Township, OH 45011. The email sent to Resident Moveout is the right next step. We will allow their review and proceed from there. LAST WEEK If you're considering renting with RENU, please take heed of my cautionary tale. My experience with them was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon moving from Ohio to Texas, I entrusted Atlas as my property management. Little did I know RENU would take over the lease in the last two or three months or so. It took them a staggering three months to address a water leak in my front yard, during which time water flowed down the street unabated. Despite my repeated calls, including conversations with Lori regarding the leak, they did not come out to fix it until the water company shut off our supply. I was in the midst of moving to Texas with RENU, unaware of the challenges that awaited me. I won't delve into the details of the move just yet, but when I left the house, RENU sent me a jaw-dropping bill of over $5,200 for damages they claimed were present in the house that I had moved from. Thankfully, I had the foresight to document everything with photos and videos before leaving. These pieces of evidence proved invaluable when disputing their claims. RENU, the agency I subsequently dealt with, attempted to paint a grim picture of the state I left the house in. However, thanks to my thorough documentation, their allegations were swiftly debunked. My advice to anyone dealing with property management: do not leave without thoroughly documenting every nook and cranny of your property. Take photos, take videos, leave no stone unturned. It may seem tedious at the time, but it could save you from a world of headaches later on. In conclusion, RENU's negligence and lack of transparency have left a sour taste in my mouth. I had a very difficult situation that I dealt with during the year that I rented with Renu and they were understanding. As with any rental, the house had it's little imperfections, but nothing horrific. Anytime something broke, they fixed it. Rachel Coleman from Tampa Relations has been especially helpful and kind every step of the way and I couldn't thank her enough. Always a fast response and you can just tell that she's a caring and warm person, rather than the cold kind of people you tend to have to deal with at large corporations nowadays. I visited and applied for one of their property on 8/11/22. My application has yet to be processed. When I called, their customer service told me that it takes 7 to 10 business days, and I was only on day 9 so I needed to wait. In the meantime the property rental rate has been dropped TWICE since I applied, and now they are offering $0 application fee after I paid a $50 fee for nothing. I have two credit monitoring services which tells me when someone has run a credit check and they show no activity at all from RENU. What kind of scam are they running here? read more

warning!! tamaki guy needs to lose her job and RENU prop management needs to be black listed. the home I was in had a load barring wall removed. the roof/floor upstairs was caving in. the property was deemed uninhabitable this was in henderson NV. I was advised I had to leave the home after paying the full month of March. I asked for a full refund and for two weeks they said no to me. finally they agree to refund me with a check after telling them I wouldn't leave the home until I was provided a check. they tell me ok be out by 8AM and we will give you a check. they give me the check after 2 weeks of asking for it after the home was deemed uninhabitable. the check bounced for 3 days after it being issued to me. causing my wife my 2 year old daughter and dog to have to sleep in our car. nevada statue requires a prop management company to provide full refund the moment a home becomes uninhabitable. federal law states if a check bounces it's a crime. under no circumstance should a family never late on rent and paid for the month in full be denied a refund and forced to sleep in the car after the check we begged for for two weeks bounces. Tamika guy told me "I should have been more prepared for a financial disaster" ... what.. this needs to be investigated. she needs to be fired and RENU prop management needs to lose their license. read more

I do not recommend renting from this company. They Are money driven and not for the tenants at all. I've been over charged numerous of times for things that should be fixed by the owner. Every time they send someone out to fix an issue, the problem is never completely fixed but they still charge $145 each time. I recently had $1000 check sent to their finance department last Thursday. It's now Thursday a week later and they are saying they have not received the check. Instead they charge me $150 in late fees for being 2 days late. It doesn't take that long for mail to travel from one state to another so I am very confused. I've always paid my rent a week early. I got assistance with rent this month bc I reported flooding in my yard. They sent me a notice saying that I had to move out in two months bc the house is being sold. How? I'm in the process of buying a house and I close on it March 29th. Renu advised me that I couldn't break my lease even though they are the reason I have to move. This company is a rip off. read more

Answer: Literally do everything opposite of what all of their current business practices are. They mislead and stall and do not care and are a bigger waste of time than any company I have ever worked with in ANY industry. I saw a home for rent and within 13 minutes of RENU posting it and then after much effort to get a number to a real person, was told the various conflicting and misleading things from representatives at the company listed in the timeline below over the span of 11 business days: -I applied on Wednesday (within one hour of when it is posted) -That Friday I was told we were 1 of 2 pending applications, but it is not their policy to say if we were first despite them claiming to adhere to a first come first serve policy. -The following week I was given NO updates only standard word tracks stating they have up to 10 business days and can provide no additional information other than our application was currently showing as "being processed". -The next Monday (8 business days after submitting application) I was told it could take longer than 10 business days and was still showing as "processing". -That Wednesday (on the 10th business day) I was told "allllll of the other applications before us were denied so now we were on line one", meaning we were not the top applicant, and would be looked at next and would hear if approved in 2-3 business days tops (despite the *ridiculous* wait, I was happy about this because I knew the application we submitted showed proof all criteria was met) -Then Thursday (the next day and 11th business day) we received a text from Kathy saying our application wasn't even processed Bc they were flooded with applications. When my boyfriend replied to the text requesting a call back regarding all of the above he was told he would and did not. He called back 1-2 times more and was never able to speak with Kathy or anyone helpful despite leaving a message for her. This company is a scam. They advertise on Zillow and they are the worst. I never moved in the property because of false advertisement. They advertise the property has washer and dryer but they don't. Also, the bathroom was disgusting. Bathtub was rusted and toilet didn't work. When I asked the representative/agent Diamela Atención-Ray to explain and to get the bathroom fixed before move in she told me I need to take the house as is, they won't fix it and with regards to the washer and dryer she said non of their properties have them even thought they advertise they do. Horrible company! They do not inspect the properties correctly or thoroughly and try to charge you for maintenance after you move in when something like a flooding happens! Absolute zero communication, pretty much they buy up these houses and do zero updating besides cheap flooring and bad peeling paint! Then when things fall apart they expect you to foot the bill! I would never ever rent from them and would actually like to start a class action lawsuit! We moved into a pool home; the water was as green as jello, there was a leak in the pool and the filter was broken! They expected us to pay for EVERYTHING! They want to slap bandaids on everything causing bigger issues that they can charge YOU for. We ended up paying HUGE water bills because the sprinklers had leaks on top of the pool which they were gonna have their pool guy put in an auto filler without even asking us and not fixing the pool leak! Then they want to charge you $100-150 for a pool guy they choose and only pay $50 so the pool guy doesn't wanna do much but here you are paying a big pretty penny for a pool home that they slapped some paint on and put uneven floorboards in.. we left our rental property in better condition then when we moved in and they are still trying to keep a big Chunk of our security deposit! After applying weeks ago to rent a house and never getting a decision, I tried calling, emailing, leaving multiple voicemails to someone named Diamela to check the status. I never got a call or email back, so finally applied to rent elsewhere and immediately was approved. I filed a dispute for the application fee with my bank and the next day Renu started to process my app. Too late. I'm a homeowner and will need a property manager for my current house, but now I know better than to consider using them for any service. read more

I began my application process on 5/17/22. I saw the house for rent, went to view it, and sat in the driveway and applied (the rental market is CRAZY right now, so I knew I had to do it immediately). On 5/18/22 I was contacted via text message advising me they were working on my application. On 5/19/22 I received a text message and an email advising I was approved. The same day I immediately paid my deposit, and signed the lease. I have been a PEST from 5/19/22-6/1/22 when I was scheduled to get my entry code/keys. Through this process, I worked with Kathy. She has been so amazing. Patient is definitely the word I am looking for here. I accidently found myself falling into the rabbit hole reading the reviews for Renu Mgt. It freaked me out, and Kathy had to console me through my anxieties. She promptly answered every text, call, and email. She always had answers and never left me feeling as though I was working with someone incompetent. I even brought up the bad reviews, and she was very understanding and kind to explain to me why the company had some of the reviews they did. It's now 6/2/22.. I have all the information I need to move in, and Kathy still continues to promptly respond to late emails. She has been amazing, and I am really starting to trust her. I highly encourage you...if you are reading the reviews... to realize that mostly all reviews are complaints about the application process. The housing market sucks right now, and rentals are flying off the shelf. They have worked very hard (according to Kathy) to rectify the situations that were occurring that led to unhappy applicants.
