If you are trying to get rid of some extra baggage and have the money to spend, you are better off finding a M.D., D.O., dietician, or nutritionist to help you. Dr. Jay is a CHIROPRACTOR. As a chiropractor, he's great. He even gave me a free adjustment during one of my appointments. But when it concerns weight loss, there's very little he can do for you that you can't do for yourself. I came in because on Groupon, there was an offer for "cool sculpting" which is a very different medical procedure from what he does that only MDs and DOs can do that actually works. I called and made an appointment, and he said he would honor the Groupon price without me having to purchase the actual Groupon. I was bamboozled into signing a contract with him, basically. He's a nice man on the surface, and he showed me some photoshopped pictures of before and afters. I should have seen the other Yelp review on here that talked about how it was obvious the pictures were photoshopped. I really REGRET not doing my research. But, my contract terms were really "generous" because he wrote on them that the contract ends, verbatim: "until patient is satisfied" For the next 3 months, I went to weekly appointments at his office which included him hooking me up to strange high-tech devices that looked like you could find at Brookstone. Sometimes he would put ice packs on top of me for half an hour because he said that being cold makes you shiver and lose weight... are you serious?? I'm paying you lots of money to do this????? One time, he tested out this really new massage pressure thing on me that supposedly would "get rid of my cellulite and break down the fat cells." Well all it did was give me such bad bruising and scarring. MONTHS LATER, I STILL HAVE A SCAR FROM THIS. During this time I saw no results. Finally, one day, he told me to stop coming because my contract was "over." Even though it said on the contract which was SIGNED AND LEGALLY BINDING that the contract was until whenever I saw some sort of results. I seriously have the contract still and even considered taking him to court or reporting him to him to Better Business Bureau. A LAWYER told me I could easily get him for breach of contract. But I didn't bother to even argue with him about it since I didn't want to waste my time even coming there anymore. This is an update to a review I gave just after I had started seeing Dr J.. It is now 5 weeks in and I have lost 8 lbs and I am feeling relief from body pain, weakness, bloating and other maladies. He had blood work completed to verify my health issues. He told me and showed me test results that my regular doctor had not shown any concern. Dr. Jay is a very personable person. I went in with a groupon thinking I would try it out. On the first visit before I even tried anything I was offered treatment that would reduce belly fat and love handles. I was shown what appeared to be internet pictures from the Dr's phone and then immediately presented with a contract. I was told the contract was until I was satisfied with the outcome (unlimited time) and that I could cancel the contract anytime and just would have to pay for treatment received. It was my fault for accepting the contract when my gut was telling me it was a bad idea. I signed the contract, paid $1700. This was on a Friday and I was there for roughly an hour. Over the weekend I realized that this was more money than I wanted to spend and that I could better use that money on my family and 5 kids. I called to cancel the contract and was told that the initial visit was $780 + 10% cancellation fee. Yes, I was out $850 for 1 visit and an hour visit. I share this so that others that go in can go in with eyes wide open. Dr Jay seems to be a good guy and this treatment may work for some. I can't say because I only went once. I will add that the contract states that one should avoid "all sugars, white flour and bread, dairy and dairy products and alcohol." I'm pretty sure anyone that did that on their own would lose weight and lean out. Take it for what it's worth. read more
