First time at Rep's today and here are some of my thoughts: --The place is clean, looks new, service was friendly. --You order at the front desk and they call your name when it's ready--very fast, but quiet during the weekday lunch hour. --I ordered the original smasher meal, includes waffle fries and a fountain drink, all for about $15. --You get a lot of fries--they were fresh, hot, and good, plenty of salt. --The smashburger was good. Highlight was the cheese and the pickles. If you like a good cheeseburger, you'll love Rep's smashburger! Overall, good. I've tasted better smashburgers and better buns. Always excited to see a new non-chain restaurant! Rep's took over the old Arby's location, and retained their drive thru, which I love to see. Reps is a smash burger place first and foremost. The only other food they have is a fried chicken sandwich and fries. They additionally have drinks, shakes, and alcohol. Typically, in my experience, places with such small menus have very good food. They need to be confident in their limited offerings enough to run a business off of just those items. I ordered one of their burgers, and even though all the employees were new, they were fairly quick in getting the food out. There are some things about their menu that I don't like and find confusing. Everything on the menu appears to be priced well except the burgers. This is because they do not include any toppings other than cheese and a side of 3 optional small pickles to put on the burger. All other toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc) are SOLD SEPERATELY. If I am buying a $9 burger, and you think it is good without toppings, I understand not putting them on the burger, but if someone asks for it, it shouldn't be extra. Once we get past the menu and on to the food itself, I find that Rep's is very correct. The burger, nicely smashed and caramelized, complete with it's cheese and (optional) pickles, needs no other sauce or topping. It is very flavorful, and paired with a nice brioche bun. It really is delicious! The problem is, without any of the extra toppings, it is kind of a small burger for $9. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't need those extra toppings one bit. In fact, after eating it with just the (optional) pickles, I don't think I would want to add anything, but this does make it less filling. So although this won't be an economical place to go if you are super hungry, it is a great place to go for a delicious smash burger. I wish them the best and will be back to try their Big Bad Bird chicken sandwich which sounds amazing! read more

We have been customers at the Rep's Rolling Meadows for years. We are never disappointed I. The food or service at that location. We had the worst experience at the Palatine Rep's in our history of eating out. We will definitely not be going back. We drive through on a Monday. We ordered 3 beef brisket sandwiches, a chicken sandwich and 3 waffle fries for the whopping price of $73. If the quality equaled our expectation of our food, I would have been happy to pay this. We love supporting our home town small businesses, and hey, the Rep's in Rolling Meadows is fabulous, and we expected similar. Upon ordering our sandwiches the kid on the speaker had to Che j to see if they had beef brisket. This was my first clue that explained why there were no cars in the drive and no one in the restaurant. We waited a few minutes for our food to arrive. The seasoned waffle fries were on top and delicious. The chicken sandwich was good, not great, the "brisket" sandwiches (in parentheses because I'm not really sure this was people food) was disgusting and almost inedible. I was expecting slices of brisket. Nope. The "meat" (for real, II'm using this term very very lightly) in our sandwiches was 90% chunks of fat. Literally, CHUNKS of fat. I've added a photo of the fat chunks, don't look if you think you may puke. How can a restaurant serve this? I'm thinking it may have been dog food in reality. It was tasteless chunks of fat smothered in BBQ sauce. Shame on you Rep's. The public you serve is not stupid and they are aware that you are using an unacceptable product. Came here a while back to finally try it out after hearing a ton about it. Got pretty much everything on the menu (regular, p-town and big bad bird & Fries). When ordering in the Drive-Thru, it was a pleasant experience, the girl taking my order was very enthusiastic, and nice. She was excited that I was trying everything. The food came out pretty fast as well, I was worried about the wait time as it's cooked to order in a drive thru, but got my food quickly! Got home and bit in, and thought, wow these are good! However, it just went downhill from there, after the 2nd or 3rd bite, all I could taste was salt. I was quite surprised at how salty these burgers were. The Big Bad Bird, was decent. Cooked well and moist, but weirdly this one lacked flavor. I wish I could give it a better review, but felt like I needed a gallon of water after 1 salty burger, and then the chicken was just so plain overall. read more

Burger looked good, but after a couple bites was just ok, nothing impressive. Bun (brioche I think) is clearly not substantial enough and was completely falling apart after 3 bites. Also beef was not prominent in flavor just there. I was disappointed. For a 18 dollar burger fries and drink this is mediocre at best. I wanted to like this place but for the prices and the just ok burger, I'm most likely not coming back. I have been to the original reps several times, when they opened years ago they were good, now they aren't, imo. The growing of their company has lost the quality they first had. Why not add some specialty burgers to the menu, jalapenos, blue cheese, different cheeses? Who wants a plain burger? Sorry reps. This is most likely why I was the only person here at 630 on a weekday. Imo, just not a good enough burger and meal for these prices. I would most likely be even more disappointed if I got this in the drive thru and took it home. I'm sure 3 people would cost over 45 bucks.. that is silly for this food. Love the cheese fries here! The burger is solid and best if you're really craving some meaty, greasy seriousness! The sandwich menu is a bit limited and the side offerings are limited as well. That said, this is a solid choice if you're down to satiate the basic carnage craving of the big and bad burger monster that lives within you. read more

It's a shame that I couldn't give a higher rating and I almost only gave this 2 stars. But these prices are out of this world. Say what you will about inflation and fast food workers making $15 an hour. But to charge for lettuce, tomato and onion and not have it as a basic requirement on all of their burgers, is pretty ridiculous. The food was good but nothing sets it apart from other smash burger places. There is also something to be said about the lack there of in size of the fountain drinks. Which if you are gonna charge me $35 for 2 burgers with fixings and fries, i'd expect a bigger cup at the drive thru (though they have unlimited refills inside the restaurant.). This place currently has a line around the building but that's fueled by grand opening hype and brand loyalty from their first sit down restaurant in Rolling Meadows. This hype will only last so long. I wish independent businesses like this one all the best and want them to succeed. However, I will be shocked if they make it a few years at these prices. read more

We were in Palatine for a high school track meet and like to try local restaurants not affiliated with large corporations. The burgers here were excellent. They come with melted cheese and pickles. I added grilled onions and the flavors blended together perfectly. Smash burgers were moist and tender. One of the best I've had in a restaurant. Waffle fries were crispy and delicious. We got a side order of beer cheese for dipping fries and it was great. Customer service was A+ and one of the owners (Mike) was in the dining area talking to customers. He was even cleaning up tables and bringing out food orders. We talked with him for a while; great guy. I highly recommend Rep's burgers. read more

Tell you what despite getting my order wrong 2 times and waiting 20 min. Then, I got my order wrong again and finally took off. I even paid and received the WORST disgusting service. I mean there are 4 things on the menu HOW could you get that wrong? Managers are definitely not doing a good job of training workers. It took me a couple of months before I went back. I got a Smasher, with fries and a chocolate milkshake through the drive thru on an unbusy Sunday late afternoon. The server was friendly, even warning users the fries were hot and our food came pretty quick. I thought the fries were crispy and flavorful. The burger was well-seasoned and reflected what a smash burger should be. I also thought the milkshake was good, although I'm not usually a milkshake person. It looked cute inside. My only complaint is akin to what other people are saying; that it's .50 each to add onion, lettuce, and tomato which is a little ridiculous. I like to try the new eating establishments in close proximity to my home, so I gave Rep's a try for lunch. The entry sign indicating that no outside beverages were allowed, gave me a bit of an unwelcome feeling as I had my water bottle with me from my hike over. Anyway, I asked if I could order a single patty instead of the double as depicted on the menu, because I don't regularly eat large amounts of meat at a time. But alas, that size is age restricted for children only. Liking crunchy veggies on my burger is also to my taste, and I found each of those came at an additional charge. Now the burger itself self is priced as a top shelf product, more so than other casual burger joints. However, I came to try the new smash burger and ordered as recommended... 2 burgers, cheese and pickle. Well, I admit it was rather delicious as is. The burgers are thin and delicately juicy and the cheese and pickle complimented the sandwich in an admiral way. I think it was one of the more unique and better burgers than I've had. Haven't been back yet after about 1 month because of all the competing prices on other sandwiches and burgers that are not bad in the area. I really hope that Rep's gets it together to keep customers loyal by, 1.) Adding toppings at no extra charge, 2.) Bulking up menu choices for parties that have diverse palates, and 3.) Offering specials to entice more frequent returns from customers. But if not, I will still have a day when my belly will remind me to return for the special flavor of the yummy burger at Rep's. 4 stars is in hoping the establishment will find the way to keep business thriving! read more

I've been to this place several times in the past few months. I have it delivered by Uber Eats, it's close to my house. The Food has been excellent, the Burgers are very good and prepared with care. You are able to order any kind or type of burger you can think of or desire with the toppings you want or don't want. The waffle fries are crisp and good and the shakes are thick and large. Had The Original Smasher, fries, a side of beer cheese, and a chocolate shake. Here's my take. The shake was good, thick and chocolaty. Not super special but good for the price. The fries were delicious! Seasoned but not to much. They are waffle fries which I'm not usually a fan of but these stayed crunchy on the trip home. The beer cheese was SOOOOO much better than the typical cheese sauce most other places serve. We dipped or fries and burgers in and it it was so yummy! It was $2 but it was a decent amount of sauce. Now to the star of the show. The burger was delicious! The patties were juicy and a good size. There was the right amount of cheese and the bun held up well. They don't offer mayo, mustard, or ketchup on the burgers but I don't fault them for that. The burgers stand on their own and I add a little mustard when I got home. The only fault I found is with the toppings. They charge $0.50 each if you want lettuce, tomato, or raw onion. I opted for the raw onion and what I got for my $0.50 were 3 small rings of onion that has not been separated, just laying haphazardly on the bun. I have no issues with charging for the toppings, produce isn't cheap. It was just how skimpy they were with the onion and how it was put on the burger, it showed a lack of care. I know this may seem picky but this is all that kept me from giving them 5 stars. Overall it was a delicious meal! It wasn't cheap but it was as good as 5 Guys and slightly less expensive. This is hands down the best Burger, fries and shake you will ever have, nothing comes close to the taste and quality. I really wanted to like this place. We ordered as recommended, burger and cheese only. The bun was great but smashed like the burger. The cheese was delicious but overpowered the flavor of the burger. The burger was fresh but lacked seasoning. We also thought the burger was slightly smaller than we expected for thr price. We were sharing the burger so I asked if it could be cut in half and I was told a hard "NO, but we'll give you silverware". I guess that was fine, but trying to cut a burger in a car was challenging. On a positive note, the fries were delicious. I was surprised to see no customers in the drive thru or inside at 5pm. I ordered from here via DoorDash a couple weeks ago and even though it's a 20 minute drive from the location to my home, the food arrived cold and smashed in the bag. The fries were cold, the burger (while known as a smash burger, arrived smashed and cold. Now, I know this can be an issue with the delivery driver and whether they placed in the insulated DoorDash distinct red delivery bag, and other food may have been on top of my food, but I don't think that was the case. The driver arrived and immediately got out of their car and brought the insulated bag up to my door and pulled out the smashed food bag and placed on my doorstep along with the large drink. The ice was still intact in the soda, so why was the food cold? It felt as if it were sitting awhile and was neglected, then thrown in a bag and delivered to me. My husband and I saw they were open this past Saturday. We drove in about 7:30 pm, and the lot was full, so we opted for the drive-thru. The menu is simple, burgers, chicken, sides, and drinks. Was there several times earlier in 2024 (pre- October), when all they had were hamburgers and a chicken sandwich. Loved their cheeseburgers...some of the best around. Came back Jan. 2025 and definitely noticed a change. More menu options (brisket, pork, etc), but the hamburger patties became paper thin! I ordered a double and it felt like it was a single patty. I couldn't believe how thin each of the patties were. Nothing like they were several months prior. I mentioned something on the way out and they just claimed they were smash burgers. Good Burgers! - flavor and quality are top notch. The only negative is the up charges for tomato, lettuce, and onion. Others such as bacon is totally understandable and should be added charges but TLO should be offered as basic toppings. I want to be clear that I appreciate supporting local businesses, but fairness should go both ways. The food was delicious; the burgers were flavorful, and the chicken sandwich was excellent. However, beyond that, I have some concerns. I spent $50 on three original smashers and a chicken sandwich with two fries. Paying $2 extra for grilled onions seems excessive. For $20 less, you can get a better meal at Fry the Coop. It feels like the prices are pushing this establishment into the realm of overpriced burgers that are thin and not exceptional. I'll reserve final judgment until we see how the business responds. If there's no improvement, I fear it could be another case of a local restaurant in Palatine failing due to mismanagement once the initial excitement wears off. read more

If they could get an order straight it would be amazing and I think the food is pre cooked since it's done quick. I've been there twice first time I asked for a burger with just grilled onions no problem. Second time was the drive thru and ordered the same two sandwiches and was smothered with cheese.
