I'm heartbroken to have to even write this but as someone who knows what it's like to try to find a clinic you trust and feel comfortable with I feel like I need to do it. I used RFC to have my first child. At that time Dr.Park was there and it was amazing. We went back for baby #2 and it's been an absolute nightmare in every aspect. The only saving grace is the front desk staff and the techs. I could go on all day of things that made me disappointed in the clinic but I'll try to share the biggest issues. Communication is atrocious. My husband's DNA fragmentation specimen was never sent as promised and the only reason we found out was because I contacted the company myself. They took 0 accountability. Due to a coordinator claiming she sent in a pre authorization and not doing so I'm currently in a battle with insurance to get $3000 reimbursed... since February. We had non stop billing issues because the billing department NEVER puts the correct coding needed. My insurance still hasn't received the claims for my 3rd retrieval back in June. In the year I was receiving treatment (3 rounds of IVF) I had 3 coordinators 3! Not once was I warned I was getting switched or that the previous coordinator was leaving. New coordinators were always behind and didn't know what was happening. (All 3 left). Never got me the answers I needed about my treatment. After 3 IVF rounds and only receiving one embryo I have switched clinics and it's a night and day experience. I'm currently still dealing with RFC because after asking for 3 months they did not submit a vital form to my insurance which has now cost me $4200 (my current clinic had the exact same form sent 2 days after consult...) So to be clear I'm currently over $7000 in the red due to this clinics lack of concern and professionalism. On the medical side of it I do not believe they are able to give patients the care they need I'm not sure if it's the new California law causing them to be overwhelmed but more than I could ever list fell through the cracks here and I regret ever doing IVF at this clinic. I truly think the negligence has a lot to do with my results. We received over 50 eggs total with only one embryo and never got an explanation outside of "bad egg quality". I only saw the doctor for the procedures getting a call back after reviews on my failed cycles took forever. The entire process I had to do my own research and ask for things or double check every single thing and caught many errors. I asked for blood work many times after my first failed retrieval and i was told it wasn't necessary. Turns out my vitamin D was low and I'm insulin resistant. They might not be huge things but it's just a few of the things that were missed. I went in with over 10 things I wanted tested from my own research which is the only reason I knew. I called today and was told I would hear back about my insurance issue and big shock that didn't happen. I'll share one of the text exchanges to give any hopeful mama an idea on how this clinic is run. Huge disappointment in every aspect. deserve better and the way patients are being treated is awful. On top of everything else since I only have one embryo and didn't want to pay the $4000 transfer fee I attempted to transfer in July and it was cancelled 2 days before and with an excuse but no reasoning behind it other than accusing me of not talking a certain medication which is insane with how much I'm paying. I received a call the morning after planned transfer to ask for payment that really was the icing on top for me. I hope this review saves someone else from being taken advantage of. IVF is such a hard process but due to this clinic my process of 3 retrievals seemed so much harder. The worst part of IVF for me was this. There were a lot of frustrating aspect to my experience here which mainly stem from front desk staff lack of communication regarding test results and appointments. The first doctor I saw dropped the ball on everything but then I saw Dr. Park who explained everything in honest and straightforward terms. She did my egg retrieval and my transfer and I was so happy to have multiple healthy embryos and my first transfer was successful! I was 40 at the time of my egg retrieval and had my daughter at 41.5. She is perfect! I'm sure some of the success was due to God, possibly the supplements I was on, some luck, and also Dr. Park's skill as a doctor. I am eternally grateful to her for enabling me at an older age to have my beautiful daughter. read more

Horrible communication! IVF is already such a tough process to navigate and the staff at RFC makes it so much harder. The coordinators lack of communication is extremely frustrating. They switch coordinators every few weeks and when you email they never answer and they never ever answer the phone. Everything requires multiple follow ups! I want to preface this by saying that my first FET isn't until next Monday, but I didn't want to wait to express my gratitude to the incredible team at RFC Corona for all of their guidance and support. I wouldn't come here again or recommend this place to anyone, most of these scams are based on "well it could go right" let's see how many times we try $$$$. I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering IVF through RFC. First, I want to be clear that my issue is not with Kaiser coverage itself or my Kaiser doctor, Dr. Huang, who was kind and professional throughout the process. This was my first IVF cycle, and like many patients going through fertility treatment for the first time, I had a lot of questions and anxiety about what to expect. Unfortunately, the coordinating staff at the clinic made what should already be a delicate and emotional process feel even more stressful. My assigned assistant coordinator, Leslie, consistently seemed bothered whenever I asked questions about my treatment or the process. I completely understand that this is their job day in and day out and that they speak with many patients, but that should not impact the level of customer care--especially in a field as sensitive as fertility treatment. As a first-time IVF patient, I was relying on the clinic to educate and guide me through the process. Instead, I often felt like I was inconveniencing them or that my questions were somehow dumb. Because of this, I ended up turning to internet searches and videos to try to understand what was happening during my cycle rather than feeling comfortable asking the clinic staff for clarification. No patient should feel like they are a bother when they're trying to understand their own medical treatment. I do want to point out that the receptionist, ultrasound technician, and phlebotomists were some of the nicest people I interacted with during my visits. They were warm, friendly, and made a stressful situation feel a little more comfortable. However, the staff responsible for coordinating care and educating patients really fell short in my experience. Fertility patients are not just another contact on a call list--we are people going through an incredibly emotional and vulnerable process. My hope in writing this is that the clinic takes patient experience more seriously and works on providing more supportive, patient-centered communication for those going through IVF, especially first-time patients who truly rely on that guidance read more

This clinic seems like a nice clinic. But they need to really get thier shit together as far as calling people back and addressing incoming calls needs. Both the Corona locations and Irvine locations struggle with this. When I was intrested in going here before a year ago for my IVF, I would ask them for a "pricing list" and no one ever got back to me on this. So I ruled them out for things such as preliminary testing and just used another clinic that got back to me faster. Then now I am using the for outside monitoring. And still it's a struggle to even get someone to take me seriously to make a payment. They need to staff thier receptionists better and make it so that they are fully staffed to be able to handle incoming calls. And also to handle any incoming emails as well. I will email them and literally my emails as well get ignored. I met Dr. Lynn and he seems great. I am just saying they need to really take care of this problem because it has been frustrating working with them. Customers like it when thier needs are answered fast, and they like to be taken seriously when they make calls to the clinic and they have things they need to get done and need to make appts and make payments. This IVF center is so up and down. I wish my Kaiser coverage worked at another location. I've been trying to get in contact with someone about doing another egg retrieval before an upcoming surgery that could possibly damage my egg reserve. I was able to speak to someone on Monday, 11/3, who said they would reach out to Dr. Huang at Kaiser to confirm the egg retrieval, and she never got back to me. I had to message Dr. H myself. I've called to get pricing information and to figure out a calendar for starting medications, as the timing has to be perfectly planned out. I've left messages, and nothing. The only person who has gotten back to me since is Erika Soto, which I appreciate. She told me the main biller was out. But this means I may not be able to do an egg retrieval after all. read more

My experience here was not great and it's not because I failed IVF. People pay thousands out of pocket for fertility treatments and at the very least, they should feel like they are valued patients. My coordinator (her name was Angela or Angel) was not very responsive. I would have to call or email for follow ups. After I had paid close to $20K of hard earned money, the interaction became even less. When I was told the bad news, it felt very transactional like you're being told what time or day it is. It felt like losing at the casino after making a huge bet and all you get is an oh well or better luck next time. As a patient, I really don't care if employees at places like these are "overworked" or "too busy." It is a private practice whose patients pay several thousands of dollars and who should feel like they are getting their money's worth. On the other hand, my experience at the surgery center was great, the nurses and the doctors were great and they walked me through the egg retrieval process smoothly and the nurse even called me the next day to ask how I was doing. Find a place where you feel the coordinator is invested in you and doesn't make you feel as just a number or another patient. read more

I had a generally positive experience at reproductive fertiliry center, especially at the start of my IVF journey. My initial coordinator, Natalie, was absolutely amazing. She was always available to answer my questions and provided me with all the necessary information, making me feel supported throughout the process. I felt like I was in great hands. However, like someone previously mentioned, after transitioning to Leslie as my new coordinator, my experience took a turn. Unfortunately, Leslie has not been responsive at all. I've tried reaching out multiple times via calls and messages, but she hasn't returned any of my inquiries. This has been especially frustrating since this is my first IVF cycle, and I feel like I'm left in the dark with no guidance. The lack of communication and professionalism is concerning and really dampened my confidence in the clinic. While I understand things can get busy, I believe it's crucial for patients to feel heard and supported, especially during such a sensitive and important time. I hope the clinic addresses this issue so others don't face the same frustration. Also, I was told to wait 2-3 weeks for genetic pgta I'm 5 weeks in (not including the week after retrieval) and haven't heard anything from my coordinator! I consulted with three IVF clinics before I made my decision to do a 3-cycle package at Dr. Lin's RFC. It turned out to be one of the worst decisions I've ever made! After 3 cycles of retrievals, I got 30+ eggs. However, I did not get one single normal transferable embryo. This is just heartbreaking. Dr. Lin and his clinics have many troubling aspects: 1) They were warm and responsive when I went for the initial consultation. That totally changed after I paid for the 3-cycle package deal. They never kept their promises: I was told that they would notify me whenever the test results were out or update me daily after the egg retrievals. However, I would never hear from them if I didn't keep bugging them with texts/calls. I didn't hear anything about my test results for more than 2 weeks after the report was sent to them from the lab! Ironically, even when their "patient advocate" reached out to talk about a potential solution, she did not get back to me as promised. 2) Their 3 cycles for $15800 deal is totally a scam. They didn't mention the extra costs/hidden fees until much later. I spent $30k+ just for the egg retrievals and another $11k+ for the meds. Looking at the total costs, their "best deal" is not even as competitive as what some of the other much more famous IVF clinics provide. The worst thing is that once I purchased the package I was locked in! After the 1st cycle I had serious doubts in Dr. Lin's capability, but I had to continue since they wouldn't refund the remaining two cycles. 3) Questionable clinics/embryo lab: they claim to have the highest success rates in the US, on various social media they advertise an incredibly high success rate of 89%. However, the data they are required to report to the CDC suggests that their success rates are far below the national average! (See attached screenshot from the CDC website) When I asked Dr. Lin why my results were so different from the numbers his clinics claimed, he told me that's all due to my own problems and bad luck, seriously! At the beginning of my 2nd cycle, he notified me to start the stim shots before he even had the results of my blood hormone test (sample was sent to wrong place). He didn't disclose the medical error until I questioned them on what my hormone level was. Who knows what other errors were never reported to me. 4) Incompetent embryo lab: Dr. Lin claimed his lab has a no-result rate lower than 2% for genetic testing. However, out of the 9 embryos I got from my first two cycles, 2 were "no result", meaning there was not enough sampling for genetic testing. I had to rebiopsy these two, which runs a risk of destroying the embryos. Then, out of the 30+ eggs I got from my three cycles, only 25% made to blastocyst, my aneuploidy rate is 70%! which is much higher than normal (only around 35%) for my age group. And for all that, Dr. Lin again just blamed it all on myself. Smart way to run your clinic! 5) Dr. Lin is definitely unable to communicate. Without exaggeration, he is the most awkward doctor I've ever seen. He never answered my questions straight. Instead he would just talk random nonsense. I asked him if it's possible to transfer 2 embryos at once. He told me "no twins" then the next second he pointed at his family photo on his desk and said "see, my twins!" When asked what could possibly cause the left ovary to produce more eggs than the right, he simply responded "Your left eye looks bigger than your right eye, you ask me why?" For my 1st cycle, the ultrasounds showed 14+ eggs but he was only able to get 7. After the egg retrieval, he walked in, humming, and told me: "2 out of the 7 probably won't make it. I did my best." then he ran away! At the follow-up visit he still shamelessly claimed himself the "best egg sucker". After my 3rd egg retrieval I had a lot of bleeding and cramps (severely worse than my first two cycles) he told me that shouldn't even happen and pretended it was nothing. 6) Hypocrisy: since my cycles turned out not so well, I was always not very confident about starting another cycle, nor was I sure if I should take a break. Dr. Lin always told me there was no reason to wait, and promised the next cycle would go well and if not he would even refund the meds! Which of course never happened. I spent time, energy and money, 3 cycles were done and I got 0 embryo to transfer. I asked him why my result was so poor. He would not take any responsibility or admit any fault, only kept saying himself and his clinics treat their patients the best, then showed me another patient's case which was super successful (?!) Dr Park and the RFC Corona staff were nothing short of incredible through the entire process. Dr. Park was everything you could ask for in a provider. She was attentive, took the time to listen, answered questions and set expectations well. She also brought a positive spirit that was appreciated and helped us be in a positive spirit. The staff was exceptional as well. Jess and Nataly were great as coordinators and were responsive via both email and phone calls.
