I can't recommend this fertility acupuncture clinic enough, especially Dr. Jody. After struggling with infertility for almost a year, I finally made an appointment with a fertility specialist. My results were discouraging, I had a very low AMH level of 0.15, and they also found a cyst caused by an ovarian endometrioma on my left ovary due to endometriosis. I found Jody/Fertility Angel through Yelp after having gone through a failed IVF cycle. I was disappointed and discouraged at that point but I had friends who had a good experience through acupuncture and so I decided to give it a try. I am so happy to have found Jody! My consultation with her was very insightful, because she asked a lot of questions about my past IVF, lab works and current situation along with my health and infertility issues. It's the reason why I decided to give it a try. She offered insightful tips and her plan on how to help me. I could tell she truly cared and were just as invested in helping women who are struggling. When I started my treatment with Jody I had low AMH, low egg count and have endometriosis. My husband also had some sperm issues. But despite all of our issues she was determined to help us get pregnant. She immediately put me on a plan which included moxa, and herbs supplements. I did treatments weekly and took her advice on what I needed to do to get pregnant. I was hopeful because after being on the herb supplement and seeing her for only a month I was already seeing a significant difference with my cycle. I'm not one to write reviews often, but after reading everyone's reviews about how professional and knowledgable Dr. Jody Steele is with the field of study, I am more than happy to write a review for her. First of all, we had a virtual consultation, and it wasn't "How are you, explain yourself, etc." She got straight to the point and pointed out the different areas that she sees that may be factors to being able to conceive. She's pretty intense, but in a good way because she wants to help you. After the hour consultation, I wanted to cry and not because she was grilling me, but cry because there was a sense of hope and comfort that I can and will be a mom soon! She pinned point those areas that I need to address to my own PCP and had them look into the issues. I felt super relieved after the talk. I met her a few days later and all I can say is give her a try if you're struggling and you don't know the reason why! She is very thorough and explains everything very well. I was diagnosed with PCOS 10 years ago when I was 20 due to extremely irregular periods. After consultations with multiple OBGYNs, they all told me and my parents that I may very likely have to deal with infertility in the future. It was devastating to hear this kind of news at such a young age. I was initially referred to Jody by a friend. Because of PCOS, it is very difficult for me to know when I ovulate due to my irregular cycle, so Jody started doing acupuncture and herbal medications for me weekly and instructing me to take my BBT every morning to find a pattern. Unfortunately, in 2019 I prioritized my work over my health and stopped seeing Jody. I ended up getting pregnant naturally in September of 2019 and had a miscarriage in Dec 2019. And even though sometimes I still feel sad about it, Jody tells me that maybe the timing of that pregnancy just wasn't right. And honestly, she's right. As a result of this, I made the decision to commit to seeing Jody weekly in 2020 in hopes that I would have another opportunity at pregnancy. I came to see Jody with the recommendation of a friend whom she helped get pregnant with her second baby, and after I had already been seeing another acupuncturist for a few months and felt that it wasn't going to work out. I was dealing with fibroids that were causing depression, infertility, and over all just affecting my quality of life. I was looking to try to fix the problem and resort to surgery as a last option. I contacted Jody and gave her a quick run down of my problem and she asked me to bring my lab work for my first session. I loved that the first appointment process was so easy and that she was already communicating with me before my first appointment, trying to gather as much information as possible to be fully prepared. I was also impressed that she wanted to see my labs to get a better understanding of what's going on with my body because that did not happen with other acupuncturist that I had seen. Right away after meeting Jody for the first time and going through my lab work together, I felt comfortable with her because she took the time to explain what she was seeing in my lab work and she never made me feel that what was wrong was my fault. I couldn't recommend Jody more for anyone going through fertility issues! My brief story- I had 2 miscarriages and 1 chemical pregnancy, had all the tests done and the doctors found nothing wrong. We tried again to conceive and had trouble for about a year. (During that year I also found out I had hyperthyroidism, but my endocrinologist got that under control so we could try to conceive again.) After a year of trying to conceive after our last pregnancy loss, we found Jody through 2 friends that had successfully gotten pregnant through her! Then in our first month with Jody I got a positive pregnancy test! We are now 14 weeks (further than I've ever been before!) Jody really treats everyone according to their medical history. I vividly remember my fertility doctor telling me that my AMH of 0.41 is depleted and too low for my age. He added that it would be quite impossible to conceive naturally and that I have to do the IVF as soon as possible or else I won't get a chance to have a baby. He further said there is nothing I can do to improve the situation. It is a matter of fate. This devastating news cut me so deep that it left me depressed for months. There were days I stayed in bed asking God why I deserve this when I gave my youth to helping children with disabilities, or just blaming myself for pouring all my time and energy into my job that might have left me too stressed and barren. Remembering all this now still gives me chills and teary-eyed. It is tough. The countless worry, bloodwork, doctor appointments, ultrasound, and not to mention bills. There are times when I just want to drop dead and give up. I felt helpless in the IVF process. There are days when you just want to scream my guts out. I've been there, I know it is tough. The fertility doctor or clinic does not give you a lot of information. I don't have a medical background nor my husband, and I was always left with a big blur of medication information that I didn't even know how to process or where to begin my research. I was overwhelmed, physically, and emotionally. So I basically donated my body to science and just let them inject whatever they want. It came to a point where I became emotionless, and I was glad for that. I didn't want to feel any physical or emotional pain anymore. Fortunately, we moved to Chino Hills and that's when I found Jody. I've had 2 acupuncturists in the past and none of them compare to Jody's approach. After I had my consultation with Jody it somehow made me feel relieved because, for the first time, I had a clear plan. Jody gave a thorough and research-based presentation that bridges that gap between Western and Chinese medicine. In the first cycle, I came to see her weekly for acupuncture and took all the Chinese supplements she recommended. But when that didn't work, Jody suggested for my husband to take fertility supplements (from Amazon) and combine it with her Chinese supplements. Luckily my husband agreed to try and that made all the difference! I cannot stress enough that the husband's participation in this journey is very crucial. Sometimes, it might just be the missing link after all, especially when you have tried about anything. I have one of the most sought after fertility doctors in Los Angeles and believe me they will not help you improve your overall fertility. My doctor did not even tell me that there's a possibility that I could improve my AMH if I improve my Vitamin D, which was during that time they first tested me was very low. Why? The most possible reason is that they want you to do the IVF. It's more business for them. It boils down to money. After 2 months of consistently taking vitamin D, I was able to improve my AMH from 0.41 to 0.72. This proves that my fertility doctor was wrong! This is when you need someone like Jody who will come in to help you process information and break it down into chunks of achievable goals. The bottom line is, keep an open mind and do not give up. I'm one of those people that don't feel comfortable taking a lot of pills, but I thought this couldn't possibly hurt me to TRY. I have even let the fertility doctors inject me with medications that I don't even know the long term side effects of! Take note that when you do TRY, give it a full blast so you know if it is effective or not. You cannot just pick and choose which supplements you want to try. Jodi is more than an acupuncturist. She's a friend, a coach, and supporter during our fertility journey. After 1st appointment, she ordered couple lab works on me then helped me to optimize my thyroid, vit D, and progesterone levels (which my Endocrinologist didn't seem to care). I and my husband both going to her weekly. Beside acupuncture, I have to monitor body temperature daily, taking her recommended herbs, and moxa nightly.
