"ALERT - DO NOT SCHEDULE" MEDICAL REPORTS without a signature? What I experienced at RMA Seattle is not a simple misunderstanding. It is a case of mistreatment, discrimination, racism, retaliation, and administrative practices that should trigger every internal and external alarm. I am sharing this because no woman going through a fertility process should ever experience something like this. My experience at RMA Seattle -- and why I demand internal audits On August 28, I went to an outside monitoring appointment recommended by Dr. Sunny (CCRM San Francisco) and Dr. Kathleinn Lin. I trusted that recommendation. But from the very first contact, everything was a disaster. 1. More than 20 ignored calls To schedule a simple appointment, I had to make more than 20 calls in one day. The system sends you to a voicemail that requires a password to leave a message. How is a patient supposed to communicate like that? 2. Sarcastic and aggressive front desk staff The receptionist, Brittany Warker: * Misspelled my last name * Responded with sarcasm * Showed discriminatory and racist behavior She apologized, but it was clear there was no intention to correct anything. 3. The Seattle manager lost control One day before my appointment, on August 27, I sent an email requesting --with full justification-- to be seen by someone experienced, considering my four fibroid surgeries. The manager's response was: * Disrespectful * Discriminatory * And she practically suggested that I "go somewhere else," attaching an aggressive response and ignoring what I had requested. Is that how you treat a patient in such a delicate IVF process -- a process she claims she also went through? 4. On the day of the appointment, I asked to speak with a manager... and "there was no one" Convenient. 5. I tried to reschedule... and ended up traveling to California They told me they do not attend on weekends. Given such negligence, I traveled to California to receive safe care. 6. On December 16, I tried to schedule an appointment in Bellevue... and the worst happened The manager called me to cancel my appointment because they could not provide outside monitoring for Egg Whisperer. She even mentioned that she "also went through an IVF," as if that justified denying care to another woman. 7. She contacted my private doctor -- and my doctor confirmed it by phone She told her they would not schedule appointments for me because "I offended them." Since when is asking for efficiency an offense? 8. I requested my records... and found something extremely serious Through Egg Whisperer, I requested my records from 08/28. This is what I found: * The report has no medical signature * The technician's name does not appear * It only says "RMA/SEA/Bell" * And the most serious part: They included an internal alert: "PATIENT: ALERT - DO NOT SCHEDULE" Is it professional or valid to place such an alert in an unsigned report? Who authorized that? Based on what criteria? And how many more patients have been marked this way? I am attaching photos of this entire situation because it is unacceptable. My conclusion If you are in a fertility process, especially with medical conditions like fibroids, it seems that at RMA Seattle they expect you not to ask questions, not to request clarity, and not to give feedback. Because if you do, they punish you with discrimination, racism, and by harming the IVF patient to frustrate your IVF process and limit medical access. What a "proud" set of values they claim to uphold -- represented by people who act with zero professionalism. This type of behavior should never be validated. read more

I am a victim of medical malpractice caused by poorly trained nursing staffs at RMA Seattle under Dr. Lin. I came to Dr. Lin last summer after raving recommendations from many good friends. My experience was the exact opposite!!! The nursing team were poorly trained and uneducated about fertility medications. My protocol was lupron microdose flare that must be compounded but the advanced coordinator RN sent the lupron compound prescription to my mail order pharmacy on 8/18/23 that does not do compound. My lupron microdose was supposed to 0.04 mg twice a day (20 units/0.2ml twice a day using an insulin syringe that comes with measurement of 100 unit/ml). The pharmacist called the clinic to inform they don't compound and another nurse on 8/22/23 gave the authorization to change microdose lupron to the regular strength lupron 14mg kit with concentration 1mg/0.2ml, but my dose was the same - 20 units/0.2ml twice a day using an insulin syringe, which was 1mg twice a day. I ended up being overdosed on lupron by 25 times. I started lupron the day before starting stim and continued through the duration of stim, a total of 9 days. This RN never informed Dr. Lin or got the authorization from Dr. Lin to change lupron from microdose to regular strength; she made that change with no understanding of the 25 times dose difference between microdose lupron (0.04mg/0.2ml) and lupron 14mg kit (1mg/0.2ml). By 6 days into using lupron, I only had 1 day left of lupron and messaged the clinic if I needed a refill of the lupron kit. The advanced RN coordinator who was in charge of my procotol should have caught at the time that I was on the lupron kit and not the compound product, but she didn't. My response to stim that round was the poorest of all the retrievals I have done and at the last monitor before the retrieval we were only expecting 1 mature egg. I suspected the lupron negatively impacted my response and just thought my body didn't agree with it. The morning at the last monitor I told the PA I was not doing a retrieval with 1 egg. I did not want to waste my insurance coverage that had a limited lifetime cap on one single egg. Dr. Lin called me that afternoon to convince me to move forward with my 16mm follicle and said this was my "golden egg". I followed her advice and had the retrieval. My golden egg didn't fertilize and she discharged us from the clinic because of my poor response. This was my 1st and only round with her, but I did 2 prior retrievals at another clinic so I was confused about my lacking respond this round. I begged Dr. Lin to let me do another retrieval without lupron but she refused. I didn't find out about my lupron overdose until Feb 2024. I confronted the clinic since and appealed to be compensated for my botched retrieval due to lupron overdose and thousands spent on IVF meds. Their resolutions team concluded that the lupron overdose was at the fault of the pharmacy for filling the prescription and that I wasn't suppressed by lupron overdose. Their clinic denied the lupron overdose prescription was malpractice and said it didn't alter my clinical response. Their clinic took no responsibility for their medical malpractice caused by their poorly educated nursing staffs. I have done 5 retrievals at 3 clinics and out of 4 retrievals I got 6, 5, 4, and 6 mature eggs. The only round with 1 mature egg and the lowest E2 on trigger day out of my 5 retrievals was at RMA Seattle. The clinic cashed out on my insurance benefits and discharged me, and after finding out in Feb this year that their medical negligence resulted in my poor response they refused to own their mistake and make it right by compensating me for my financial losses. Instead they put the blame on the pharmacy. The pharmacy filled exactly what was ordered. There is hard evidence that the nurse made the change to my lupron strength and updated me through the RMA portal that she made that change on 8/22. The advanced RN coordinator sent out my instructions protocol on 8/30 which stated I was to be on microdose lupron starting 9/1. Upon further research, I learned that the lupron dose used to treat prostate cancer is 1mg daily. The dose for ovarian suppression in women with breast cancer is 3.75mg every 28 days, which comes to 0.13mg per day. I was on 1mg twice a day for 9 days, 2 times greater than the dose that is used for prostate cancer and 15.4 times greater than the dose for ovarian suppression. How could lupron not negatively impacted my ovarian response when my dose was 15.4 folds higher than the dose used for ovarian suppression itself? I attached my clinical outcomes for the 5 retrievals I did. The poorest respond was at RMA Seattle with the lowest estrogen level and only 1 mature egg retrieved. Dr. Lin is highly educated, but she lacks integrity in owning her nursing staffs mistakes and taking responsibility. read more

While I did not move through the entire IVF cycle, I saw the team for the initial egg freezing to preserve fertility for future (2 cycles) and they were extremely thorough and knowledgeable. First of all, sending strength to those who have to be in the position to look up reviews for a fertility clinic in the first place. We decided to go with Sound because it was one of the clinics contracted with our insurance. We are so very thankful that we did. Because the clinic is smaller and all Sound patients see Dr. Lin you don't feel like just another patient, she knows your health history and you as a person. You'll also get to know all the staff and calling with questions goes straight to a nurse without a long hold time (like other larger fertility clinics may have). I have unexplained infertility with an autoimmune/inflammatory condition that flares with the many ivf medications you need to take, Dr. Lin ensured that I had a plan to control my flares and also found ways to reduce inflammation throughout the process. She also delivered both good and bad news to us promptly and tactfully and always had a plan of action. IVF is not an easy process, but it does help tremendously to have a doctor that you fully trust and is confident in their approach. I'm very happy to say we now have a beautiful baby girl thanks to the Sound Fertility Team. read more

I echo the sentiment from one of the reviews below- the billing is a disaster. My wife and I had an initial consultation with Sound (now known as RMA). A few weeks later, we noticed that we were billed for blood work and egg freezing. We were not able to get ahold of their billing (good luck trying to speak to anyone there). While we were able to speak to someone through their main line, we were referenced a bunch of obscure medical codes then ensured that our concern would be passed on to billing. It is now weeks later, our insurance bill still shows these "ghost" procedures. We're in the middle of trying to get this resolved, it's just frustrating and tiring. Billing department is a disaster. I had an initial consultation appointment with SFC on Dec 2023. BEFORE, DURING and AFTER the consultation I made it very clear that I'm still shopping around so I don't want to schedule or bundle it with any other services. They seemed to be very understanding and respectful, saying that I can just call them back if I decided to move forward with them. However, at the end of Jan 2023, I found out they had called my insurance WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION to: 1. Upgrade my initial consultation to be billed with blood work and tests(which I didn't do, and haven't scheduled anything at all) 2. Asked my insurance company to authorize egg freezing service they scheduled on Feb 20th 2023? They did everything without ANY COMMUNICATION to me, phone or email, just nothing. They didn't even try to get my verbal or written approval. How come I'm the one who didn't know about that I'm going to do egg freezing with them next week??? I've made multiple calls and repeated my complain to SoundFertilityCare several times, each time they told me this has been taken care of or someone will get back to me. However, until today(It has been a month!!!) the issue still haven't been solved and I can't schedule anything with other clinic because SoundFertilityCare has used up my insurance quota and unwilling to correct the mistake they made. For anyone who's reading this review, be very careful with this facility as it feels like a scam to me. Due to my age (just over 40) I knew that odds were not in my favor when I started IVF. Me and my husband had tried naturally for 1.5 years and then tried IUI twice but were not successful. Then we decided to try IVF and chose Pacific Northwest Fertility. After 3 cycles of egg retrieval (over a period of 5 months), we were not able to get any viable embryos that passed the chromosome test. We felt like we were at a dead end and uncertain if it would be worthwhile to try again. We did some more research and found Dr. Kathleen Lin and Sound Fertility. We saw some feedback from some of Dr. Lin's patients that had been unsuccessful with Pacific Northwest Fertility and were able to successfully conceive with treatment from Sound Fertility. That was all we needed to give us hope to continue and try one more time. We contacted Dr Lin and we were able to start an egg retrieval cycle the next month. She evaluated our situation and recommended that we do a Duo-Stim egg retrieval. After the two Duo-Stim egg retrievals, we were shocked to find out that we had 3 good embryos! One of them is my baby boy that will be born in 2 months! When we consider how we achieved success with Dr. Lin, we came up with a few reasons: She is very knowledgeable and she was very willing to take time to patiently educate us, which helped us prepare better. We feel she gave more individual attention and tailored the IVF regimen based on the individual patient. We feel like she was actively looking for the root cause of our previous failures and was willing to make continual adjustments to fit our circumstances and my bodies reaction to the medication. Dr. Lin has a great team that also gave us great individual attention. Jane, Louisa, and Paulina were great! The communication between the team was really great and each team member always seemed aware of the latest status of our IVF treatment. Initially we interacted with Jane and always found her very friendly and attentive. When we first met Paulina, she was new on the team. After just a few months, she completely earned our trust and we found her to be among the most capable medical professionals that we met during our IVF journey. We really appreciated a few times when we had problems on the weekend, Dr. Lin and Paulina were both willing to talk with us. Paulina even did an unplanned visit to the office on short notice on the weekend to meet us for an urgent matter. We always had lots of questions and never once felt rushed by Dr. Lin, and she has an ability to explain things very clearly. The Patient Portal system that Sound Fertility uses is a bit hard to navigate and not super user friendly (if there is a message reply button, I never found it!), however the staff was always very responsive to our questions we posted on Patient Portal. As we just started consulting with Sound Fertility, I went on to have a baby spontaneously, so this review is not intended for their IUI, IVF, etc. That being said, I have really positive experience with the clinic. I worked mostly with Paulina, and she was super responsive and helpful. I only met with Dr Lin one time for an in-office procedure, and she seemed to have great energy, knowledge, and bedside manner. They did some lab tests in the office and some at Labcorp. They seem to know how to get the most bang for my buck with tests and procedures as I was paying out of pocket. I credit my pregnancy to Paulina as she happen to do a thorough US right before my ovulation (in conjuntion with the in-office procedure) and told me I should try then because my follicles and lining looked great. The only two down points are 1) you have to wait some time 4 appts since they're very small and only have Dr Lin as the physician and 2) billing can be a bit slow. They didn't bill me at all for their services, and I had to remind them that I still owe them $ 6 months later lol read more

I am forever grateful to Dr. Lin and the wonderful team at Sound Fertility (now RMA). I first went to SF in late 2021 after experiencing my 4th miscarriage. I felt broken but kept going with IVF as my company offered great fertility benefits. I was really searching for a Dr. that would be thorough and open-minded instead of just telling me it was due to my age as I had heard numerous times before. Dr. Lin was the first doctor I've ever had that took the time to really look for all potential issues and order in-depth tests. Being armed with new information from these results, I was able to take action. In the next IVF cycle after that, I did a duo-stim which yielded in two euploid embryos - with less than a 5% chance in my age group! While Dr. Lin was always honest with me about my chances, she never gave up fighting alongside with me. She was present with me every step of the way and would try new things to see if we could get to a better outcome. Other clinics would have never worked with me on such a personalized level - and this was the reason for my success. Dr. Lin is an excellent doctor who happens to be extremely caring, open-minded, and stays current with research (which you'd think all Dr's do but you'd be surprised!). I just received a bill for appointments in December and February (4-6 months ago). The billing department is very disorganized and uses high pressure sales tactics to push extra services not included in the basic IVF package. If you are trying IVF for the first time, do yourself a favor and DO NOT go here. My experience with Sound Fertility has completely turned me off IVF. The entire experience was unnecessairly stressful due to disorganization and trying to pack as many patients in as possible. If anything goes wrong, their first response is to blame the patient. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Lin and the staff at Sound Fertility. Seven years we've been trying to get pregnant. We spent about 4 years at PNWF. First with the IUI's. Then on to the IVF process. Had several FET's that didn't work ("normal" embryos too). PNWF never tried to figure out why they weren't working. After the last transfer didn't work, we decided to try one last egg retreival/transfer with a different clinic. OMG I am soooooo glad I found Dr Lin! WE ARE NOW 12 WEEKS PREGNANT WITH OUR FIRST THANKS TO THIS AMAZING CLINIC!!!! Dr Lin wants to diagnose, figure out why you can't get pregnant, and apply her extensive medical knowledge to the process. She is not in it for the money. I'm sorry to say this, but I kinda feel like places like PNWF almost want you to fail, that way you keep trying and giving them more money. That may be a totally unfair assessment but after meeting Dr Lin I don't think it's all that farfetched. She did an ERA test on me. PNWF never even brought this test up with me. Dr Lin also sent our embryos to a facility that tests for more then just the 3 main chromosomal abnormalities. They tested for a plethora of different mosaic mutations. We were all a little surprised that PNWF didn't use the better, more advanced genetic testing lab. So it's possible my embryos at PNWF weren't actually normal, since they never were sent to a lab that tests for all those mutations. We had ONE embryo that came back normal. And when she transferred it, it worked. IT WORKED! I'm in tears of happiness writing this post. Dr Lin and staff, if you are reading this, THANK YOU SO MUCH. Dr. Lin and her team are miracle workers. At age 22 I was told I was infertile after 6 years of no menstruation. At the time I didn't really think I was ever going to get married or have children, so it didn't matter to me. Fast forward 4 years later and I'm married, wondering what's my best option. I read about Sound Fertility Care, and decided to wait until closer the end of the school year (public school employee) for a consultation. We saw Dr. Lin in May. Out first appointment was extremely thorough and she wasted no time, as I was hoping to get pregnant in the summer. We went through all the hoops. Testing, MRIs, etc. she was the first person in 10 years to have given me a reason why my body was failing me like it was. When my husband and I decided to start a family, over 18 months ago, I knew immediately that something was wrong. After stopping birth control, I didn't get my period back -- and after three months, it still hadn't returned. Despite my OB assuring me this was "normal," I had my suspicions and requested a referral to a fertility specialist. Trusting my gut and walking into Dr. Kat Lin's office was one of the best, and most important, decisions of my life. Our initial appointment was an hour-long, one-on-one discussion with Dr. Lin, where she actually wanted to get to know my husband and I -- as people, not as patients. I'll never forget the feeling I had leaving her office -- complete confidence that we had made the right choice for our family. From that very first day, Dr. Lin and her team have been personally invested in our journey. We see familiar faces every time we enter the office. Dr. Lin personally sees us -- every single time. The staff knows our names and we know theirs. They know our medical records without referring to notes. They're sad when we're sad, happy when we're happy. I've always felt like we were all in this together -- as a team. During an experience that can often feel lonely, emotional, self-doubting and scary -- this meant the world to us. Dr. Lin and her entire staff are available, positive and reassuring. They answered (all of my neurotic) questions, helped us navigate financial/insurance concerns, guided us on next steps, listened to our emotional struggles (and offered resources), and even answered my crying (weekend) phone calls with empathy, understanding and comfort. Dr. Lin is great. My wife had an ectopic pregnancy before, and after that, we tried more than 2 years to have a baby. But unfortunately we failed every time. So we decided to see a fertility doctor. And we found sound fertility by the good reviews here. After waiting around 3 months, we got an appointment with Dr. Lin. Our first thought is to start IVF, but Dr. Lin explained us everything in detail and patiently, and suggested us to take an IUI firstly. And after 2 IUIs, my wife got pregnant successfully. I won't go into detail here about our infertility journey but we are eternally grateful to Dr. Lin and her team for their care and attention! We found Dr. Lin via a referral from a friend who had great success at Sound Fertility and now has a 4-month-old son thanks to Dr. Lin and the sound fertility team! In an effort to keep this concise and applicable to you (and not fill page after page gushing out how much we love them) I'll use bullet points: Pros: * Dr. Lin is INCREDIBLY knowledgable and has completed (and led) extensive training with top tier practitioners in the infertility field. * Very supportive and responsive team- they do an amazing job of responding to questions and being available to support you through the whole process. * Appointment times are easy to book -especially if you are a morning person- ask for one of the first appointments of the day! * Dr. Lin had a wonderful bedside manner and took wonderful care of us. She truly listened to us always took her time to explain everything to us and ensure that we got all our questions answered. * Personalized approach- Dr. Lin worked with us to tailor her IVF recommendations based on truly getting to know us, our experiences thus far and my medical history (in our case, it was me with the medical issues causing infertility). We never felt like there was a one-size-fits-all mentality or approach. * We were almost entirely out of pocket for out IVF and Victoria (who runs the billing) was delightful to work with- happily jumping on the phone to explain each of the costs associated with this process that we'd never done before and was super patient with us. * They understand most patients pay for IVF out of pocket and have found reputable overseas pharmacies that can help save thousands of dollars. We had no issues using the overseas pharmacies they recommended! There were certain drugs that were safe to order overseas and certain drugs that are best to get from the US further illustrating that they take a very calculated approach to ensuring patient safety while being mindful of cost. Things to know: * They may have a long waitlist- they are SO worth it * You may spend some time in the waiting room if another appointment runs over- they take incredible care and attention of each person! After 10 years of contemplating having a baby, and several failed treatments, my GYN recommended we contact Dr. Lin. We were so impressed with Dr. Lin and her team from the first visit. First, Latasha was very organized at getting our first appointment in order. We weren't sure about what to expect and Latasha gave us a detailed rundown of how to prepare. She answered all our preliminary questions, and left us confident that we would be well prepared. We were so impressed with Dr. Lin from our first appointment. She is incredibly knowledgeable about both male and female infertility issues. She was advised us on diagnostic and treatment plan, and then we were off to the races. Because of my skepticism that the plan would work, I was reluctant to move forward, but Dr. Lin's confidence, energy and realistic approach to the plan was incredibly encouraging. We had contingency plans based on data and test results, an we were very confident that she was not recommending plans based on what was most convenient. As we proceeded with the plan, her team and I were all on the same page for test results, medication, and they were always available to answer questions I had along the way. With so many medications to be taken at very specific times, I was often concerned that I would miss something. The online portal was so convenient and helped keep me organized. Every time we had an update to the plan due to hormone levels raising or lowering, Katie and Amber were quick to update my flow chart and send me an email. Were some of the office wait times a little long? Occasionally we'd wait 10-15 minutes for a room for out appointment. However, it was worth the wait knowing that the small team supporting my case and Dr. Lin were making themselves available to other patients. I know they were offered the same consideration I was when I had questions or concerns. Sound Fertility is a single doctor practice, and the attentiveness makes up for any time we may have had to wait. Ultimately, I believe we were one of the lucky ones who had few problems along the way, and we are so grateful. But I believe it was due 100% to Dr. Lin and her team's very attentive care. During our egg retrieval cycle the team kept such a close eye on my hormone levels that I had a daily visit to the office, including the 4th of July which was both a Sunday AND a holiday. My care was so important during the critical time of my cycle that Dr. Lin took the time to draw my blood on a holiday and weekend. Our last visit was this week, and it was such a melancholy experience. We are so grateful for the care of Dr. Lin and the team. We get to move on to a regular OB, and we are so excited o move on to expanding our family thanks to the care and consideration of the team. We had been trying to get pregnant for 3 years and had spent a year at both Seattle Reproductive Medicine and POMA Fertility. We were later recommended to Dr. Lin by a friend, whom had gotten pregnant naturally through her help. Seeing Dr. Lin was like getting on the express lanes during rush hour traffic. She quickly recommended us several diagnosis tests to find a root cause of the infertility and then recommended the best treatment forward. Dr. Lin is willing to spend time educating you about the intricacies of the fertility process and share the statistics of success for each choice you make forward during the process which I found helpful. She is very personable and we felt like we were more than just a case number on her docket. I have been seeing Dr. Lin for 5 months and I am currently 10 weeks pregnant. It has been an emotional journey for us to reach this step, and Dr. Lin and her staff have provided so much support to our family. Her team is very professional and responsive and Dr. Lin has responded to my voice mail on a weekend to follow up on us. The only difficulty we've experienced was the customer service from Sound Fertility's financial advisor, however despite this setback we still rate them overall five stars! read more

If you are paying out of pocket, find another clinic. They will charge you for everything even though you paid a large amount already for IVF, they will charge for visits separately, even for tools used that would be assumed included in the all Inclusive price. Unfortunately I wasted years with Dr. Lin and a lot of money. The staff and Dr. Lin are a great capable team. Unfortunately we did not have success which I don't blame on the clinic. read more

We went through 3 IUI with PNW Fertility through a referral from my MD at Swedish, which we felt that PNW was trying to make a sale versus really caring for their patients. After the 3rd unsuccessful IUI and we were not able to speak to the actual doctor, we decided to change clinic. I found Sound Fertility on Yelp, and this time done a lot of research on Dr. Lin's treatment and read up on what her patients thought of her practice. We immediately trusted Dr. Lin for a number of reasons: she didn't appear to just want us to spend more money if we don't have to and suggested to give her a chance to do an IUI. Through that process, we found out that my Uterus was curved (no wonder PNW was not able to inject the sperm properly) and also found a build-up around my Uterus. She removed my build-up nicely without any pain. My first IUI did not work, so we went ahead with the IVF procedure with FET 5 days blast. Dr. Lin and her staff was very careful with every little details regarding this process; we felt grateful to have Dr. Lin as our only doctor whom took care of us throughout every stages and her staff will call us back within the hour. I am 39 years of age and 9 weeks pregnant. My wife and I will miss working with Dr. Lin and her staff, as this has been such a beautiful experience for us to share with our friends and family. The amazing Dr. Lin did it again! I am now 10 weeks pregnant with my second child through ivf. Both of my babies have been achieved here in this clinic through this amazing doctor. The care she took in monitoring my blood and scans doesn't go unnoticed. She's not playing around. She's doing everything and anything to get your body to where it needs to be because she wants the best outcome for us. I always had faith in her, trusted her, and believed in her because I truly felt safe with all of her decisions. She genuinely wants this for us and cares about us. I'm really sad to say good bye. After several IUI procedures at PNW Fertility which we felt we were just a number and each time we saw different nurse (not doctor) to perform the procedure, we were so happy to have found Dr. Lin and her staff at Sound Fertility Care. Our first visit we were a little skeptical since we didn't have a good experience at PNW Fertility. She sat us down and put us at ease by listened to our story, explained to us our chances, and answered all the questions/concerns we had. Dr. Lin and her staff are extremely friendly, professional, and above all made us feel we were the only patient they had with every office visit. Dr. Lin is thorough, knowledgeable, caring, and passionate in her job to help us conceive. When we have questions or unclear on the instruction of the medication even at 10pm, she was always happily answered her phone and guided us through the procedure. The one thing that set Sound Fertility Care from the rest of the others is you get Dr. Lin to work with you from the beginning of the process until the end and that speaks high volume of the care she puts into her practice and not only that Dr. Lin and her staff were very accommodating to our schedule. This is a review for Dr. Lin, and the wonderful team at Sound Fertility. They have only 1 doctor (Dr Lin) and a team of nurses, staff who aim to provide very personalized care to its patients. Dr Lin is a very good doctor, knowledgeable, experienced and strives to stay up to date on medical research and keep patients informed about what they will be going through. Fertility treatments are an extremely tedious journey and any medical professional who says it's easy is bluffing, or doesn't know what they're talking about. The last 1.5yrs was a journey for us, and I am forever grateful to my spouse for going through it, and Dr Lin and the whole team at Sound Fertility for supporting us all along. We started in Feb18, and graduated from their clinic and have moved on to our OBGYN doctors in October'19. Our journey (skip this if you're only here to know about the clinic): Our journey involved meeting several fertility specialists (initial discussions to find best fit), several polypectomy procedures, IUI, IVF + FET which eventually got us successful. We went through it all. We initially had to undergo a polypectomy, based on diagnosis which would help with fertility procedures, then started with IUI as it is the simplest procedure, only to realize that the likelihood of success is pretty low and we needed to do several attempts to be successful with it. Oh boy, back to the drawing board again !! This would be one instance where we wish we were better informed about success rates before investing time into it. Then we decided to pursue IVF + FET. After hormonal reactions, GI issues etc, we went through IVF (retrieval). Following the recovery from the egg retrieval (Sep18), we underwent another polypectomy (Mar19) given a whole year had passed. Surprise - the lab results of the procedure showed we might be having 'adenomyosis' based on a tissue sample (you can look it up for specifics, basically your implantation chances are pretty low if you have this). This required more treatments, which might have potential long term impact (look up Lupron if you're curious). Not to discount the fact, that all along this time, my wife was going over hormonal fluctuations which caused terrible migraines. At one point, we just decided to stop and proceed with FET - which resulted in a positive outcome. Clinic review: Dr Lin was great in all the appointments - showing us the research data when we asked about why specific decisions were being made, doing over the phone appointments when in-person was not possible, establishing timelines for procedures etc. She is very involved, supportive and absolutely ensured that quality of life of the patient was not compromised due to treatments, very caring during ultrasounds, procedures, Willing to hear patients out, discuss/change course of treatment based on heath, current circumstances etc. If it feels that you are being rushed, ask and hear her out. These are time sensitive procedures, and often times things need to happen on certain days/hour/minutes. All along the team was pretty supportive, not just verbally but also by taking quick action, and they referred us to a neurologist who worked with us on migraines. Pros: Work with a close knit group of people. You will definitely get personalized care here, unlike a larger hospital. Very helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Super skilled team of nurses, and coordinators who will keep the plan on track. Cons: Most appointments are pretty early in the mornings (7am-10am) Commuting to downtown Seattle, parking, where the clinic is located during rush hour is chaotic. Online tool could be made more user friendly, give appointment reminders etc. Unknown: We never had to deal with the financial coordinator as insurance covered most of the costs for us. read more

I waited for 7 months to get an appointment here (This clinic is very far from my home but we still went for this one because it had great reviews) and was very happy when I finally got an appointment. But over the time I realized I shouldn't have just relied on the good reviews but would have gone with more established clinic / center. Even though Dr Lin is good but I feel the staff is incompetent and rude that it offsets it. I'm very unhappy with the wrong medication information, not scheduling on right time, cancellation on last moment, getting frustrated when we ask questions, not answering the questions, not updating on the appointments or any changes, unnecessary appointments etc. They even delayed our procedure because they didn't take action on time and scheduled us for the right slot. There is so much amount of stress one go through when going through the treatment and it just increases when dealing with this clinic. This is the only clinic we have been to so I can't compare it with anyone else but we are now considering and searching to move to another clinic, so I will update my experience based on that. Over the time I have felt that this is just another clinic which cares less about the patient and the only intention is to make more money!! I went here because of all the great reviews but now I doubt that the positive reviews given to this place are may be through a paid third party company!!! If you still decide to go with this clinic for any reason then make sure you are proactive every time and cross check information, schedule, medication etc and this will save you any trouble because of their negligence. read more

I had a few choices of fertility clinics through progeny insurance. my PCP recommended SFC based on what she had heard from her other patients and I could not be happier with their service now that I have completed my procedure. I am posting this bit late. I worked with sound fertility for over a year. I had 2 fails IUI and ended up having an unnecessary surgery. My reviews are not based on my failed IUI's. I understand that People have failed attempts. My reviews is solely based on management and their customer service. My schedules used to get moved all the time. I had received calls from sound fertility before my appointments telling me that earlier appointment has opened up and see if I could come early. When I arrive early my wait time used to be even longer. I donot see a point of requesting patients to come early if you cannot accommodate them early. I used to schedule my appointment early in the morning, so that I can go to work right after appointment. But many times I had to wait from 40 min to hour to see the nurses or Dr lee. One time I had been at the clinic at 7 for my appointment and Dr lee arrived an hour late almost around 8 am. Being someone who had struggled with infertility issues, having bad management at sound fertility left me and my spouse in such a bad place. Billing was another disaster. After our failed IUI attempts we consulted the option of doing ivf with sound fertility. However, when I had a meeting with business office, she had a hard time explaining all my questions regarding cost. So after that we decided to not to go with sound fertility and go with a different clinic. I am glad we did that as now we have a beautiful baby via ivf from different clinic. read more

Dr Lin and her team have been my constants throughout a very trying and often painful journey to become a mother. Having tried unsuccessfully in New York City, I reached out to Dr Lin for help and she took me on, determined to get me pregnant. I was impressed with what I read about her practice and her clinic's success ratings. At the time, I was a single woman in my mid to late 30's, struggling with unknown infertility (later Dr Lin diagnosed me with DOR). Dr Lin has been so patient and meticulous. Jane, Louisa, Cheryl and the entire team at Sound are warm and supportive. I wanted a place where I saw the same doctor each visit and where I had consistency in care. She takes her time, if I have a question or a problem she handles it without concern for time or pushing me through her office to reach the next patient. I trusted her and I always know she'd give me a straight answer, even if it wasn't the one I'd anticipated or wanted, I knew she was being completely honest with me which was refreshing after working with doctors who circled around diagnoses or recommendations. I also appreciated that someone was always available if I had a problem - I felt cared for at all times. I'm now pregnant and moving over to my OB; I already miss the Sound family. For over two years we tried both Seattle Reproductive Medicine and Pacific Northwest Fertility and found both to be just OK. Mostly this is due to the varying Dr's that you see over the course of the treatment. Every time we went into Sound Fertility, we interfaced with Dr. Lin. Not only is her bedside manner excellent, but she also is a true teacher with a massive research knowledge base to back up all her decisions. My husband and I waited a long time before deciding we wanted children, never expecting there would be difficulties. We went to one fertility clinic and were told we had a 3% chance of conceiving; our hearts were broken. However I wasn't ready to throw in the towel and after extensive research found Dr. Lin and Sound Fertility. It took some time, patience, and Dr. Lin's amazing knowledge but I am now the proud Mom to an amazing baby girl. A few awesome things about Dr Lin. First of all we saw her at ever visit, I can't remember a visit I did not see the doctor. She also stays on top of medical technology, we are pregnant because she knew about duo-stim retrieval's. Everyone at the office is very supportive, I always got hugs when needed and a shoulder to cry on if things didn't go quite like we wanted. My nurse Jan is amazing, as is everyone there.
