I was very excited to find this vendor online and pleased that they had a variety of pets at reasonable prices. I ordered 2. medium hermit crabs (they had a buy one, get one free sale, so I'd actually be getting 4. I also ordered 2 brown anoles listed as feeders, intending to keep them as pets. My first clue something was wrong is that days passed without an email confirming that my animals had shipped. I checked my email constantly, wanting to be sure to be home. A week later, I woke up to an email saying my order had shipped and was on it's way.....I'm thinking I have a day or two to finish getting their habitats set up. I decide to check tracking, and it's a good thing I did! My animals were already at my local post office! Now I have to was seriously worried. Why? Because I had absolutely no idea how long these animals had been in transit! I could find no history through tracking to show where or when they had been. My mail carrier never fit to my house until 2:30 in the afternoon! Those poor creatures had been sitting in the post office for HOURS on top of however long they'd been traveling! I got the box from my carrier and was completely shocked that there was NO Live Animal stamped or written anywhere on the box! That probably had a huge bearing on how the box was handled at every facility! Once inside, I started owning the box.....and a disgusting smell hit me in the face! My heart sank. I just knew all the animals were dead, I felt like bawling, but continued to unpack them. I took out 2 plastic "bowls" with lids. The anoles were in them, not one in each container, but TWO! 3 of them were DEAD and VERY decomposed. The fourth was laying on top of DRY moss, on top of his dead friend, his eyes closed and looking very thin/dehydrated. I wanted to cry, but opened the container and he jumped up! At least he was alive. The hermit crabs were packaged all together in nothing but a nylon bag tied with a ribbon. They were all alive, but there were EIGHT of them and they were large, not medium as I ordered! I was not prepared to house eight hermit crabs! Or 4 anoles! The only reason the company sent so many is that they EXPECTED some or most to DIE!! I took pictures of the dead anoles and emailed the company, asking if they were replacing them. Their reply was: "We'll forward this to shipping". WHAT?!?! I have not heard a PEEP from them since. They do NOT care about the well-being of the animals they make money off, but only about their own gain. Do not do business with Reptile City. UPDATE 02/29: I just spoke to the lovely "Felton" and his only solution was to suggest I return the Uromastyx. That's not going to happen, this is a live animal and we will not subject it to that kind of care again. He's refunding the shipping per my request, but I don't have confirmation of this yet. And that's it. He was rude on the phone, not so much as an apology or explanation, only placing blame on me, saying we didn't contact them within three days (Note: we made several attempts to contact Reptile City with zero response). I suggested a refund for the animal, full or partial, and he refused, stating that no company will do this and that he would be willing to "give any company a call to verify". I purchased a Uromastyx from them for my best friend. He was shipped in a box inside a box. There was no insulation, just some newspaper. He had one heat pack that was taped to the top of the box and had lost all heat upon arrival. The Fedex box on the outside had no labeling except "Fragile". Nothing was printed on the outer box to suggest a live animal was inside. Because of this, he got tossed around needlessly by the delivery driver, was freezing cold and lethargic upon arrival. His touch temperature was 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Note that these animals live in 100-120 degrees. We emailed Reptile City's customer service account about our concerns and all we got back was "Thanks for the update". We inquired further and no response was given. The delivery occurred on the 12th of Feb. By the 26th, we still had not received word back and we have since noticed that the Uromastyx has no use of one of his hind legs, so I gave the customer service line a call and left a voicemail detailing our concerns. No word back by the 28th. I called, left another voicemail, and followed up with another email. This morning, the 29th, I finally received a response with someone named Felton's cell phone number and an email that just says "call my cell". I texted the number and he said to give him a call. I called, and the line went straight to voicemail. I received a text saying his phone was off because he is at a gymnastics meet. That's fine, I told them to call me when they are available and now I will be awaiting the call. I hate going full "Karen" on a company but I've been keeping, buying, breeding reptiles for many years and I have never experienced something like this. We will be taking the Uromastyx to the specialist vet next week with the hopes we are not dealing with MBD, but the outlook right now isn't great. Based on my experience so far with this company, something tells me they won't be offering a refund or to cover veterinary expenses. Eventually, someone explained they were really struggling to ship out orders so I stopped calling for a while, but nearly 3 months is a long time - especially for a living animal! But, eventually, on Friday, May 22nd I talked to someone there and he was able to tell me that it'll be shipped on Tuesday for Wednesday arrival! I'm not going to lie I didn't really believe them! But sure as the sun rises, Tuesday evening I get an email in my inbox saying that my order has been shipped, and here's the tracking information! Tracked it, and waited for it to arrive, and it came in a box perfectly labeled stating that there are live animals, with a protective polystyrene box inside, with my new lizard in a small bag within the box. She is alive and well, and everything is looking great! I don't give TWO rats behinds if you only had one snake when you restocked! If my money went through and you guaranteed me THAT snake, that's my snake. I wish I could give this company negative stars. They don't even deserve the one. We had bought a snake back in June for our oldest daughter for maintaining a 4.0 her eighth grade year. She was excited! We did tons of research before even considering purchasing one. We even bought the terrarium and set it up a month before ordering. Had the perfect lighting, heating, automatic mist system, you name it we went above and beyond to make sure we were ready. Found this company and was excited to see they had the kind of snake she wanted in stock. I wish I would have done my research and looked on this yelp page before we ordered from them. We ordered the snake and when he arrived he was in a box that was slightly crushed, no holes for breathing, stuffed with newspaper in a little plastic container with tiny holes. That's traumatizing! So we quickly got him out and placed him in his new terrarium. We had him for a couple of weeks when all of a sudden another one showed up at our door. They had accidentally sent us another. Thankfully this type of snake works well in groups. Same thing, no holes in the box but this time was in a mesh bag. Both snakes died within about a week of each other. After the first one died we ordered a replacement thinking maybe it was just a sick snake. I kept checking the status of it and saw that it had been shipped out on Wednesday. It did not arrive until Friday. So it spent a couple of days in a box with no holes in the heat of the summer. And guess what? we woke up this morning to a third dead snake. Three dead snakes and 4 Traumatized and heartbroken children. Horrible horrible horrible company! Save your money. I will be reporting them to PETA and the Better Business Bureau read more

So my husband ordered a pair of red headed agamas. The order was confirmed on the 3rd of May via email. We opted for the free 30 day shipping, no biggy gave us time to get their home set up. Well got it set up and started getting antsy. Said why don't you email them to see if we can pay the extra to get them shipped sooner. He emailed last night, which was the 13th, no response. However I come home from work today the 14th and there's a package on our porch. I asked my husband if he ordered anything I didn't know about because they were the only things we were expecting. Needless to say, I bring the package in and open it, it's our lizards. Now we did get them in 8 business days vs 30 however they weren't marked live animals or handle with care, NOTHING! I inspect the box further and they were shipped the 10th from Florida! In the mail, with no notice or warning that they were coming, for FOUR days! These are dessert animals and it's been cold, we are in West Virginia! Nothing to keep them warm just in a mesh bag with shredded paper. It was warm today on my porch, it reached almost 80 degrees today. But what if I hadn't noticed the box?! The temps have dropped into the 30-40's at night! Rant over on that part. Get them in the enclosure immediately and am observing them and by God they have mites! So now I'm soaking and taking q tips to these already stressed out animals to get these mites off so hopefully I don't get an infestation! Also noticing that the male is missing part of one of his toes. I'm hoping they bounce back! You don't treat animals like this! I'm pretty pissed! Let's just say Mr. Felton is very rude. I ordered a Stripe-Knee Tarantula on 1/1/21 ($19.99). I chose the cheapest shipping 8 - 14 days Silver Express. ($19.99 USD) Well, it has been over 14 days and nothing. I contacted Mr. Felton numerous times by phone and email. He ignored both of them. When I called he would pick up and hang up on me. On 12/20/2018, I placed an order for a Crested Gecko and 2 Western Painted turtles......roughly $110. Shipping was to be free, 5 business days for the order to be processed and then shipped overnight. After around 7 business days we contacted Felton Willis (email, phone and text) and he said they would ship the within the next 2 days via text. We received and email that we would receive them on 1/5/2019. On the morning of 1/5/2019 I received a second email that the package was shipped again and it would arrive on 1/7/2019. We sent an email and text message to Felton for clarification and he never responded. I stayed home on 1/5/2019 just in case the package was shipped..it wasn't. So on 1/7/2019 I called into work to so that I could be home to receive the package. The package never came and I emailed Felton again that night with a screenshot of the tracking info. He said he would follow up with the package. The next day the tracking site said it would be delivered 1/8/2019. I get home after work and the package is there in a regular box with no fragile/parishable labels or anything indicating live animals. When I looked at video, the mail carrier threw the box at the floor in front my door. My kids were excited, I opened the box and the Gecko was there with a small hand warmer package. When looking at the detail of the tracking , it was regular mailed and had been in the mailing system for 6 days, NOT sent overnight !!!!! I put him in the terrarium and go back to the box.........NOTHING. No turtles!! So I call Felton (Again) and he says "yea I remember that order, we are out of those turtles". So I ask "why didn't you call and tell me that?" and he has no response aside of "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" and that he would refund me. So if I wouldn't have called would he have kept my money and said nothing? I tell him I need the turtles (these are for my kids), so I go on the site and choose a difference species and he says he will give me an extra turtle and prioritize the order to go out and not charge for shipping. I wait another day and email him (1/9/2019) to make sure the turtles will be shipped within the next few days. I also explained that these animals are for my kids. There was no response, so on 1/15/2019, I sent another email and asked for a refund + tax (not realizing that there was no tax). He then responds the following day with "we charge no tax...". By this time I'm furious and I tell him "Refund me my money Felton". I had to email again on 1/17/2019 and finally I received and email that my refund was being processed. I got my refund on 1/23/2019. This is not how business is to be and also, the animals should not be treated like this. The website says that they have 20 acres of land where they have all of these animals in Honey Grove, Tx yet my package has a Florida address where it came from. Also, basically the 5 business days to process is for them to send your package regular mail and then they provide you with tracking info the day before arrival so it appears to be shipped overnight. My package was in the mail system for 6 days and not overnight. Basically, people are giving an extra $50 for shipping. My package cost $7 for them to ship. This is nothing but a money grab. I'm not frustrated at the price, customer service, or had any major issues up until my gecko was shipped. I received no notifications that my gecko was processed and en route. So when a package showed up for me three days early without a single "LIVE ANIMAL" label or any need for me to be present as my roommate was the one that handed the package to me, was I shocked to find a gecko. Thankfully she was alive and well, but I can only imagine how many times that could possibly happen, and end up with a distressed or dead animal. Especially juveniles. The cockroaches and other feeders I order online require less care with delivery and have several live animal labels and undoubtedly receives gentler care than a brown square box. read more

Cruelty to animals!!! I ordered 2 savannah monitors, 4 pacman frogs and 2 map turtles. They all came in a very small box squished inside. We got no notification of when they would arrive so they sat in the cold for a day. The box was a plain box with no indication of live animals being inside. The postage indicated the package had been in the mail for a few days not overnight like the company claims. 3 frogs were dead and a turtle and monitor died a little over a week later. The owner sent 3 replacement frogs and they were left in the mailbox and one was dead. When I emailed him to inform him this was his reply: You're at a red light and witness another car hit someone - Are you responsible? - The mailman left the package in the mailbox - I would assume your message implies you want us to replace another frog when I've already replaced one before - Sorry, we cannot be responsible for what the mailman did - Felton Willis Needless to say my kids were heartbroken. Ordered a Ribbon Snake 5 weeks ago for my sons birthday. Was told will ship within 4 weeks, so after 4 weeks and nothing, contacted them. They promised the next day would ship...a week goes by and nothing, oh, and I had called 3 days after the promise, talked to a very rude individual who made it seem like I was bothering him,and was told they were packaging orders and it was "probably one of them". Anyhow, after a full 5 weeks of waiting and no snake, i finally cancelled. will now take over a week to hopefully get my money back on my card. STAY AWAY FROM REPTILE CITY is my recommendation. I wish I could give them 0 stars my experience with company has been horrible. I cancelled my order it has been 1 month since I ordered an Asian Forest Scorpion. I paid the $20.00 fee to have it processed faster. Their customer services is abysmal and non existent. Every call and email being told it is in shipping and it has never shipped. I was charged 2x and have yet to get a refund on that 2nd charge. It's bad when you have to go through your own bank to dispute a charge that they swear will be refunded and its been 30 days. read more

I purchased a tarantula through Reptile City. The tarantula never shipped. I contacted Reptile City several and was repeatedly told that it would ship soon but it never did. I requested that they either ship my order or issue a refund. I received no response. I had to dispute the transaction in order to get my money back. AVOID! read more
