I can now come back to this review and give it an update as I am NOW a reptile owner haha! Being introduced to this hobby and owning a precious cold blooded friend now, I can say that if you own reptiles or are interested in them, live in SoCal, then this bi-yearly reptile show is a MUST. You can purchase your tickets online or in person. The most recent visit, the tickets were $16, but I heard they're increasing costs to $20, but that makes sense with everything being inflated. Parking at the Fairplex has also increased to $18, by the way... But I digress! They scan your tickets at the front and if you're feeling peckish (after washing your hands, you don't want salmonella or anything else), there's food vendors outside and inside too. It's just the standard fair food vendors. Although there are some of the same vendors that do attend each year, like Geckos Etc., the line up is mixed up too. The last last time I went, there weren't that many bearded dragons and there was an overabundance of ball python vendors. However, at the most recent show, there was a MUCH wider variety. A good number of leopard geckos and ball pythons, sure, but this show had a good number of crested gecko vendors and I was able to see uromastyx and leachie geckos that I haven't seen as often outside of specialized reptile shops. Much more beardie vendors too. We even got to see a pig, an Asian water monitor, Rankin's dragon, Sakashima Grass Lizards, and even Vampire Crabs! If reptiles aren't you're thing (why are you here? Just kidding, lol), there are also lots of plant vendors and if you're looking for an invertebrate pets, this is also a good stop too, especially if you're looking for tarantulas, beetles, or jumping spiders. There's also a good amount of vendors for enclosures and supplies, supplements, feeder insects (comparable to prices you can get on Dubia which is pretty good!), merchandise like plushies or figurines, shirts, etc. I love the artist vendors who sell their pet themed merchandise too like Cloris Creates and of course, Derptiles. It's also a great way to learn about rescues, reptile health, USARK is always there to promote advocacy, and I love the Galapagos Giant Tortoise Alliance that is there each time to show their research efforts and it's cool to see some Galapagos Tortoises there too! Now onto the lizard fixation I've had since I've gotten my bearded dragon here. Reptile supplies ARE NOT CHEAP and those who own reptiles, KNOW. After getting my beardie from Bucket List Reptiles from 2 shows ago, I only realized I should have gotten more supplies and decor at the show then defaulting to PetSmart. A $10 hide or branch that you get at the reptile show can easily be $25-40 at a pet store. I already know that I'll attend future shows not just because I like reptiles and own one, but because I gotta stock up on the decor, supplies (supplements, calcium, feeder tongues, etc.), feeders, etc. when I can! read more

Great event! Definitely take a visit or when the show rolls around the next time. Plenty of vendors. Even though it was crowded, the aisles are spaced out nicely. So many nice and helpful associates. Stopped by on Sunday, 01/08/23 for the first time. Super jam packed inside and hardly any space for you to freely walk around. The Reptile Super Show is a great local event for families to hang out and learn more about reptiles. The Reptile Super Show claims to be the best reptile expo in the US and I believe the show happens every twice a year at Pomona Fairplex (one in January 2022 and one in August 2022). [Parking]: $15 per vehicle via Gate 17 entrance. They have trams to take you directly from the parking lot to expo halls (approximately 5 minutes). [Tickets]: $16 per adult and $10 for kids (age 12 and under) and you can buy tickets in person. I had to wait in line, but the waiting line moved relatively quickly. You can also order tickets ahead of time on Eventbrite, but there's processing fee. [Venues]: The expo hall was fairly big and there are probably at least 100+ vendors here. You can spend at least 2+ hours here just navigating through foot traffic and checking out all vendors. You will find snakes (ball python, king snake, boa constrictor), lizards (geckos, chameleons), turtles, tortoises, tarantulas, frogs, etc. Many vendors actually let visitors hold lizards or even let snakes wrap around their necks. Reptile Super Show is more exciting than visiting zoo because you can actually physically touch these reptiles (with vendor's permission). Ticket was definitely not cheap, but I think it was well worth the price. P.S. - You can bring your own bottles of water and there are some country fair food stands just outside of the expo hall. read more

ANAHEIM CONVENTION REPTILE SUPER SHOW!!! 2024 i will never be coming to this show ever again!!! we came all the way from downtown los angeles koreantown to get our tickets voided from some rude lady with a really bad additute named dawn!!! 1st problem we encountered was no one was directing us where to go... so we had to figure out where the parking was... 2nd thing was you pay for the tickets, and you can't even keep the tickets... they supposedly reuse them!!! covid-19!!! apparently i guess i am the only sentimental person in the world. i got 2 tickets, and the guy at the door could not even let me keep one ticket, so i went back to the lady by the name of anna to get a recipe, which she should have gave us a recipe in the 1st place!!! anyways she said that i needed the card, because she didn't know which number it was, so i went back to get my husband's card... which the ticket booth is not close by the door!!! 3rd when i am waiting in line, i got a rude lady with a really bad addituted by the name of dawn, i told her that i wanted a recipe, because they wouldn't let me keep the tickets... i put my tickets on the counter so that she could see that we paid for the tickets. i asked her what the managers name was, and he kept saying something which i couldn't hear... The Reptile Super Show IS a super show! Tons of reptiles, some amphibians, tarantulas, products for pets, all kinds of reptile product vendors, plenty of show specials, and BEER! I don't care for beer but I know some do. I was determined to get to the Fairplex in Pomona super early. Arrived at about 9:40, the event itself began at 10 a.m. The Reptile Super Show took place in one of the main halls at the Fairplex. I thought being so early that we would be one of the first in line. HA! Others had my same idea! The line wrapped around the building. As we waited in line we got copies of a reptile magazine and a goody bag with samples for reptiles (water conditioner, tank cleaner, food). The line moved at a decent pace so I wasn't too bothered by it. Print out the $1 off coupon off of the website for a discount. Entrance fee for adults was $14 and $9 for kids. Ages 6 and under were free. Upon paying for our ticket, we scored a few more freebies. Took the first aisle and oohed and aahed over all the exotic breeds of geckos and chameleons and snakes for about two hours. The animals were not out and and about scurrying around, they're all in their nice and neat containers, some pets were being carried responsibly by the vendors. The majority of the animals looked great and well taken care of. The sale prices were listed on almost everything I saw. All the vendors tables were well attended. The vendors themselves were extremely hospitable and answered everyone's questions. I only encountered one vendor who was a bit pushy but he became distracted as soon as another customer looked interested. I really liked how much information each vendor had about their animal and/or product. I learned a lot! I took my 11 year old son and his best friend. They both had a blast. Several vendors let the kids touch the animals. Some didn't and I let the kids know this is NOT a petting zoo, we were there to observe and learn. The vendors were very kind to the kids and helpful when they asked a zillion questions. A lot of people walked out with purchased pets. I saw a lot of people walking around with bearded dragons on their shoulders or chests. I can't wait until my beardie will do the same! Had a rough time in the beginning but the owner of the reptile show showed my Son love for his birthday . We have never been to this show , we are new to the world of reptiles , but Ramis generosity will not got to waste . Extremely educational for our kids to be able to see and touch real live reptiles . So many snakes , all sizes and kinds . Geckos seem to be very popular , chameleons & much more! Awesome !!! If you enjoy any aspect of herpetoculture (that is, the keeping and breeding of reptiles and/or amphibians), then the reptile super show is a must visit at least once. We have visited the show at Fairplex in Pomona half a dozen times over the years, and each trip is a little different. This year, there seemed to be a better variety of reptiles than in years past; the usual python morph stands were interspersed among booths featuring other small snake species like king snakes and rosy boas, several tortoise and turtle displays, a good selection of geckos (leopards, leafs, Tokays), chameleons, and my favorite-- Dendrobatidae (poison dart frogs!) Several booths sell cages and enclosures, while others peddle reptile food-- both live and frozen stuff. If you've never seen a bag of frozen rats, well, you're letting the best in life pass you by. We walked away from the show this year with a new baby Bearded Dragon, and a female Leopard gecko-- both destined for Mrs. Picante's 2nd grade classroom. A couple of areas for growth about the show have less to do with the show itself, and more to do with the venue. Parking is available in Lot 9, for an unapologetic $15. Another $15 gets you into the show-- so before you even see a container of Dubia roaches for sale, you've sunk thirty bucks. There is no other close-by parking option, so unless you walk/bike some distance and hatch your Pokemon eggs, you're on the hook for stupid parking fees. Some vendors will bargain and deal, others won't. Some will also mark stuff down as the show progresses; we got half off our gecko by waiting until the last hour to purchase... But risked someone else buying her. I've read other reviews that suggest folks won't let you hold the critters or answer any questions. This year, we took our three kids, and found vendors who were happy to chat and answer questions about care and feeding, housing, husbandry... You name it. They also let our kids hold the animals, with a little hand sanitizer at the front and back of that move to protect both the kids and the seller's inventory (you don't want to spread reptile diseases from vendor to vendor.) guess what? We bought from those folks. So go check it out--- you can find info online about their twice-annual schedule in the area. There are sometimes coupons online, too. This is a cool place to come to if you're into reptiles and stuff. We came back here hoping to look for more razorback turtles that we found a few years back but they didn't have any this year. But we did get to see a 30 year old giant tortoise, which was pretty cool too. Along with the other little critters such as: snakes, lizards, spiders, etc., the craziest item I saw was a $30,000 albino toad/frog! Wow! On the less creepy side they also had a lot of chameleons with beautiful colors on them. But it's always cool to see what kind of reptiles they have each year but I'd still probably just stick with the turtles. This place also sell a variety of cages, tanks, branches, food, pretty much whatever your little friend needs they have here. A good place to take the kids too if they're not too scared. read more

I have been attending the show yearly for the past 5 years and it continues to get better and better. The reptile community is growing and for the most part the people are great. Parking is packed put well organized. And the have a tram to help with those far lots. The also have a loading section for those large item purchases. The event is huge and I believe at some point it will need to be upgraded to two building cause its starting to get extremely crowded. They have an amazing selection of snakes, lizards and insects. And almost all the vendors are extremely helpful and friendly. read more

I've had my box turtles since I was two years old and had been to about 2 reptile shows as a kid . Recently I visited the 'Reptile Super Show'. I was beyond excited to see all the little critters and be able to talk to other owners and ask questions; but when I got inside I saw a whole other world that was much different than what I remembered. Immediately when you walk in, just 1 booth had about 50 snakes and geckos stacked in short 8 by 4 plexi containers with a single paper towel inside and NO HEATING LAMPS. There were about 5 of these booths... I couldn't help but think how many of these reptiles came into the U.S illegally... This next one is the most disturbing one....this one lady had a small booth with a cardboard box and 5 full grown Russian tortoises. All of them were frozen and stiff from lack of heat. I couldn't even tell if they were alive or not. I NEEDED to know if these guys were alive before I left. I asked her if I could see one of the turtles and she picked him up and there was no movement until the very last minute. Somewhat relieved I left it at that. My rose colored lenses finally broke and I had seen what it had all become. Just a bunch of inexperienced 'breeders' exploiting the animals for money and not even using some of the profit for their upkeep. After this experience I've become a lot more conscious about what organizations I support. I thought this was a reputable place like when I was young, but instead I was giving my money to a group that allows breeders like these to operate the way they do. Just because Reptiles are hardy animals does not mean they should have to tolerate bad conditions. read more

I was looking forward to go see the Reptile Super Show, I get there is $12.00 for parking which is ok I don't mind paying for it but when we get to the entrance it is $14.00 per adult and $9.00 per kid. I do not recommend going to this show at all unless you plan on buying a reptile. read more

Came here on January 6. It was great to see so many animals, but essentially, as a tortoise keeper- I was a bit disappointed to see the lack of tortoises for sale. Some vendors sold tortoises, but not a lot. Some that I saw: sulcatas, russian tortoises, leopard, hermanns, yellow foot, cherryhead redfoot, pancakes. Sulcatas were the most common of all vendors. Pet kingdom sold the most tortoises, but did not necessarily look the best. A majority of the vendors sold geckos and snakes. There were also frogs. If you are not here to buy a pet, it is also a good opportunity to stock up on supplies. Some items cannot be found elsewhere, and some items cost less than petstores/online retailers/etc. Admission cost $14, you can easily find a coupon for $1 off on their website. Parking cost $12. Awesome experience, but not entirely sure if I would come again. Main reason being that lack of tortoise variety. read more

Get here early! This show is a hopping busy one with lots of selection and things going on. I got here super early but still didn't get into the place that quick. There was bad crowd control in the beginning but once people got inside, it seemed to work itself out. I'd totally recommend going to this show as it's such a huge offering of so many different types of animals. Not very many "good deals" there, so if you're looking for a sale or to find an animals at discount price - you won't find it here. There was a "closeout" area where there were lots of cheaply prices supplies for reptile owners. I thought that was pretty cool and bought some things there. I can't wait for next year! read more

My son has a desert Tortoise, we have been shopping around for supplies for his pen, plants and things that are safe for him. I paid close to 105 with parking and tickets just to get in... there were 7 in our group. They had maybe 2 or 3 booths that focused on turtles or tortoises and very little else, well if there was more it was impossible to see or get around the booths to see, my son was miserable and disappointed he is 9, this was definitely not kid friendly, my daughter is 6 she was pushed, stepped on, and hit multiple times all by accident but completely unnecessary, i felt terrible for people with strollers. Lets just say we will never attend this event again, definitely not worth the adult ticket price. read more

Other than being a little too crowded I really enjoyed my experiance at the Reptile Super Show. Basically it's a giant convention or breeders, vendors, and shops who have everything to do with reptiles, amphibians, and invertabrates. It's usually only $10 bucks to get in for adults and $6 for kids. You can see specialty breed reptiles or very common reptiles. You can buy all the supplies you would need for your cold blooded friend here too. Great prices on everything you would need or want. Everyone is also very knowledgable so it would be a great time to ask questions. Disappointed this year. We went Sunday and it was a snake exhibit. Very little variety of other reptiles. Last year was better. Guess they're going through funding cut backs. Only thing I found excellent was the people displaying the reptiles. They were very helpful and informative. read more
