I did a LOT of research trying to find a new salon and finally landed here. It was nice and easy to make an appointment, and the person making the appointment asked for details on what sort of service I wanted to make sure the timing was right (odd, but first time I've gotten that which I loved). I am entirely blanking on my stylists name, but she was great. I'm not a big chatty person while getting my hair done and she was cool with lulls in conversation which was nice. She understood what I wanted, make sure I was okay with her ideas every step of the way. I have stupidly thin hair that I pretty much hate with every fiber of my being, but leaving here I actually hated it less. The color is perfect, and the cut was nice and simple which is exactly what I wanted. The prices are really fair for the care they show their clients. While I was there I only saw pleased looking customers. I hope I've finally found a salon I can go back to multiple times. read more

I went here for a men's haircut, my stylist was a lady named Shannon. I told her a little about how I wanted my hair cut and even showed her several photos of a previous haircut I had which I really liked. She acknowledged she understood my request and seemed confident. She started off alright, shortening the hair on my sides and the back of my head. That was about as far as she got in terms of following my request. I asked her to shorten the hair on top of my head and thin it out a bit to give it more of a textured look, which she completely ignored. She also ignored my request for a clearly defined side part, with a line. Basically she gave me half a haircut but charged me full price. Instead of taking her time to try her best and take pride in her work, it seemed like she was just trying to finish and get rid of me as soon as possible, the whole thing took barely 10 minutes. Also she didn't even get my sideburns right! One of the sideburns is much higher than the other;they are completely uneven. How do you mess up such a simple thing as siddburns, something I can do myself at home with a disposable razor?? I'm terribly sorry to admit I even left a 12% tip. Following by my hairstylist, Renee. She listened attentively, the color, style and the kind of cut I wanted. It was so nice of her giving me great recommendations what color and cut should I go. My stylist left the salon, no big deal, it happens. I would have left my 5 review however, since she left, the salon has been rude, aggressive, and extreamly poor with customer service. They called to reschedule (im staying with my stylist), when I didnt answer, they sent me a very missleading email stating "Though this may have come as a shock to you, we wanted to offer our most sincere apology for their absence in our salon that you have come to know and trust." 1) im not shocked, and had plenty of warning, why would you make it seem like she dropped the ball when its not the case. 2) it is not your salon that I have come to know and trust, but my stylist. I know nothing of your salon or owners amd who/what they represent. The fastest way to lose my business and damage your reputation is to have poor business practices/client service, and that is exactly what has happened here. read more

Had my hair done by Emily yesterday and had the best experience! I was able to get an appointment very quickly and the salon is cute & everyone was very nice. I brought on a couple balayage pictures for reference and Emily was great at listening to my requests (and focusing on keeping my hair healthy). Took my daughter to Republic to "fix" a bad haircut from another salon as well as to get vivid color added. Paige was her stylist. Very sweet. Not only did she fix my daughters hair, the cut and color were so much better than we even dreamed. She took my daughters idea of a sassy ,fun cut/color and made it a reality. My daughter could not stop staring at her hair in the mirror. The color is definitely a bit pricey. However , I would pay it again to get the best haircut /color she's ever had. After jumping around from one salon to another, i finally found a perfect place that satisfies my hair needs. As soon as you walk into Steve Michael's the beautiful environment presented by the staff is memorable and comforting. Unlike other salons, there is never a wait to get a cut. This may be a personal opinion but when i visit a salon, I'm hoping that's my stylist's hair looks presentable. The staff is always on top of their game with looking presentable and providing their customers with the most recent hair trends. My friends and I now schedule our appointments at the same time so we can enjoy our visit together. You can set-up an appointment with any of their 13 stylists who are all talented. Before i found this salon, i would constantly try to find a stylist who is capable of giving me the haircut i envision. I went to see Leia for an appointment. She did an amazing job. I love the way she cut my hair, matching it to the picture I showed her. She took her time and really paid attention to what I wanted. Over on top of that she was super kind. I didn't have to wait and she took me to her chair right away. Then here was a hair wash with a very soothing head massage. She cut my hair and blow dried my hair. I wanted layers and my face framed. She did an exceptional job, the pictures do not do justice. My hair was light, airy and so luxurious! When I got home I realized that my hair was not what I wanted and I was super bummed. I decided to call and tell them that I had doubts about my hair and was unhappy that it wasn't what I expected. My stylist was Allie, who was attentive, careful, and asked me what I wanted with every step to make sure she didn't screw anything up. I decided to try this place out because it has lots of good reviews. Marissa is AMAZING! I was really happy with the color and length she did for me! And she is very easy to talk to. They did tell me since I was a first time customer that I could receive a complimentary haircut since I was getting color to my hair & it was a special they were having. When I walked in, I was promptly checked in and my hair stylist, Allie, came and greeted me. She took a good 5 minutes talking to me about what I wanted to do. Shannon has been doing my hair for years now and OF COURSE I was excited when she came into her own salon. After years of looking for someone new, I found my gal! She is stuck with me now! I have always been extremely satisfied with services, suggestions and grateful for her honesty when she tells me NO on certain 'ideas' I had. Thank goodness as they were not good ideas in hindsight!
