I went to Salon Unity recently with my boyfriend. He was scheduled with Christine, while I was booked to get my hair done with CJ. First off, both my boyfriend and I were really pleased with our cuts and the price point. My boyfriend had a full cut and beard shaping at around $35, while my full haircut was $45. Given that other cuts in the area can be around the $75 mark for women, I was extremely pleased that the quality of the cut was not effected by the cost. When my boyfriend returned home, he looked completely different, without losing his beard, which was a major concern for him. This was his first time ever going to a salon, in the past, he had only been to barbers or cheap cut places, which as you can probably imagine, have been disastrous at times. He told me that Christine was very personable, skilled, and he felt comfortable with her guidance on how he should continue to style his hair between cuts. Let's just say, Christine has a new male fan and my boyfriend now has a new bottle of hair gel. Also, the fact that she works at both a salon and barber shop were evident by the numerous "man" topics that were discussed. My boyfriend never felt like there was an awkward moment, as he said they chit chatted about video games, sports, and other similarities. On the other hand, CJ was also very skilled, friendly, and I also felt very comfortable with her cutting my hair. I could tell immediately that she was honest and knowledgeable by the numerous questions she asked about how I style my hair, what methods I use for drying, color treatments I had done, damage, and other hair related issues. Keep in mind, I was already very nervous because I was meeting a new stylist for the first time and the last few salons I have gone to, frankly, have not been enjoyable experiences, so this was a breath of fresh air. Luckily, even after the cut and conversation, the entire experience was enjoyable and I would absolutely go back. Even though I don't believe CJ is listed on their website yet (because she is fairly new), I 100% recommend her services. read more

Before I got my hair cut at this salon, my locks were plain and boring. I had a straight lob with absolutely no volume. My mom suggested I get a new cut, so I hesitantly agreed. However, I was at a loss for where to go to; I had been jumping salons for the past year. My mom has been having great experiences at Salon Unity for a very long time, so she brought me here. Before my appointment, I had been researching different cuts that would suit my face shape. I decided on subtle layers, because I learned they would add volume too. I showed my photo to Christine, and she cut my hair to perfection. I walked out with the voluminous hair I have always desired. My layers are beautiful, and it's like my sister described it, I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror. This is really saying something, because I am very picky when it comes to my hair. I absolutely love Salon Unity. Christine has cut my hair for years (I followed her to this salon after being her client elsewhere). She listens so well regarding my hair, is careful yet honest, remembers things I tell her, and truly takes her time. I have seen the work of other stylists and they seem to do a great job also. The services and products are great and the prices are fair. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The salon is so clean, peaceful and enjoyable. It has a really cute and trendy atmosphere that I love. It isn't overly crowded, yet stays busy. The location is easy to find. Christine has been my stylist for about 4 years, and I've always loved how she cuts as well as highlights my hair. And I do tend to change my hair style at least once a year... I always get compliments about my hair - sometimes in the elevator, from total strangers! Not only is she amazing for me, but I have two young boys, and her patience with them is endless! My oldest had ear infections/ surgery when he was 2 and he would not let anybody touch his ears. That's when I started taking him to Christine. The staff at Salon Unity is the absolute best! They are friendly and kind, and I always leave the Salon with a huge smile on my face! It's almost like you've spent time visiting close friends. I was recommended by my sister a few years ago and I don't ever want to go anywhere else. Teresa is the best that there is!! She does the most amazing color and she always gets it right! I went to John Paul for the first time last week. What a pleasure. He took the time to listen to determine what type of cut and style I was looking for, he carefully assessed my hair type and asked questions about how I care for my hair. He then offered his suggestions and plans for my hair and we agreed and he gave me a great haircut. He was very personable, friendly and professional. I find Salon Unity to be a wonderful place to get my hair done. The entire staff is always courteous and personable. They keep a cancellation list, which is great when you need an appointment you didn't expect to need (and I've needed it!) Christine is a doll; she's done my cuts and colors for three years now and has been terrific. I have "difficult" hair and she's been able to tame it. Love this salon - and it's beautifully renovated, check it out!! John does my amazing haircut and Charity does my color and highlights which are my favorite ever! I get compliments all the time which is the best compliment I can give to Salon Unity in return.
