I was looking for somewhere local to get my hair done and I came across Lucky Hair Company through Yelp. Amy was the stylist who cut, color and styled my hair. She sat down with me before we she started and got a good idea of what I wanted to do with my hair, the texture and how much time I spend on my hair everyday. I have curly hair and have been following the Curly Girl Method. Amy was very familiar with the method and actually cut my hair dry which is the norm for cutting curly hair. She did a great job cutting my long hair into a lob and the balayage color. She styled my hair and I left a very happy camper. The salon charges based on a level system and Amy is a level 3 stylist. The salon overall is very nice and offer all types of different services, not just hair. I had a great experience and I will be back! read more

Horrible place! Did nothing I asked for, insanely jacked my hair up, and owner chased me down to parking lot to pay for "$160 in color". Color was 100% the same, from when I came in. Patrick chopped my hair up, didn't do anything I asked to be done, and got upset when I asked him to stop cutting my hair, because it was so jacked up, 8 inches were already gone at that point. I had a very strange experience at Lucky Hair Company. My first appt was amazing, Jody and I discussed extensions. I was told how much the hair would be and the prices to remove and move up when maintenance was needed. Went back for my extensions, loved them and really loving Jody. She told me if I had any issues, mainly with the length, just call and she'd squeeze me in and take care of it. This was the first red flag...I called the next day and said I wanted the bottem cut straight across, as Jody left it more in a V-shape, which was fine since she said I could come back for a quick fix. The daughter of the owner answered the phone, she would not get me in for a quick fix with Jody for 2.5 weeks and told me I'd have to pay for a full haircut. She was kind of rude, but ok, I wasn't going to argue. I had my daughter just trim my hair straight across. Next time I saw Jody, I told her what had happened and she said that shouldn't have happened and just call and ask for her directly if that happens again. Great, I like Jody enough that I can deal with the front desk. At this visit she took out my extensions and moved them up, overall the price she told me was more than I was orginally told because it took her an hour longer to remove and move up. Ok, I wasn't happy to be paying over $100 more than I expected, but I don't know much about hair extensions and if that's how long it takes, not much I can do. So, in 3 visits I have had 2 red flags. Again, Jody is so sweet and I love how she does my hair so I wanted to come back to her. The next visit for my move up and color, as she was removing my extensions she told me there was a new price increase. Instead of about $300, the same service would be over $500. Oh boy, I knew I could not afford that. She assured me that because she already started and was just telling me about the price increase, I would be charged the same rate, but next visit I would have to pay the increase. I was super disappointed, but I get it, everything seems to be getting more expensive. I loved my hair per usual and my visit with Jody, until I went to check out. I was rang up for $520 and utterly shocked and unprepared to pay that much. I told the girl (same owner's daughter) and she said "let me go check with Jody". Jody never came out to apologize or make things right, instead sent the desk girl back and I was told that Jody agreed to knock off $80, but that was the best she could do. What the heck was going on?! That was still substantially more than I was expecting and told I would be charged. I wasn't going to make a scene or argue, so I paid the bill. For some stupid reason, I still wanted Jody to do my hair. I finally found someone who was amzaing with my hair, so what if I had to continue without extensions due to the cost. If I'm just getting a cut and color there wouldn't be any surprise extra charges. I was really upset and also disappointed. I received an email asking for my feedback, so I explained what happened but also expressing how much I love Jody and how great she is with my hair. One week before my next appointment the owner calls me, basically blacklisting me and saying I would not be welcomed to see Jody anymore. At this point I am in shock, I was honest about my experience, mainly expressing my disappointment in the salons decision to make such a drastic price increase and that I sadly wouldn't be able to continue getting extensions there. That was all I said, I was professional, polite and just expressed my disappointment. I don't know how salons set prices and Jody said that's just what the owner decided. The owner then proceeded to tell me Jody sets her own extension prices and she is sorry that I was charged without being told before services started, but there was nothing she could do and my next appointment would be cancelled as Jody would not be doing my hair anymore. I am in complete shock over how this business is ran, how the stylist couldn't even talk to me after any of this happened to apologize or even try to make it right. I guess I should've quit making excuses and not went back, but I liked Jody. I also should've spoken up more, but I do not like conflict. This is acutally the first bad review I've ever written. It's obvious the owner, the owner's daughter do not care. As far as Jody, she will tell you what you want to hear and then things will change after the fact, leaving you in an awkward situation. If you are good about speaking up, then you won't be taken advantage of the way I was. read more

(Would give Zero if I could ) When I was 16 I came in to get my hair dip dyed, (virgin hair ) I knew next to nothing about hair bleaching so we trusted the stylists, huge mistake. She had the nerve to tell me that the blonde would lighten in the sun. Can't believe that I was that gullible. You couldn't even tell that my hair had been touched. I was given a price at the door then when I came back to the front its 50$ + dollars more on top of the 150$+ they charged with out her telling me or my mother. My father had to come to drop off more cash... She was snobby and just rude. This was many years ago but it left a bad taste in my mouth. If she wasn't so Lazy she would have gotten it right. I hope she got fired for not doing her job. I've only gone to Fantastic Sam's since then because if they can take Splat out of my hair in an hour and a half safely but Lucky couldn't even bleach it. Lucky hair went the distance to be sure that the cut and highlights were outstanding before my wife left. She is not overly particular about what she is looking for but she didn't want the same cut she normally winds up with. I haven't had my hair cut since before I had my daughter and my hair needed some good ol fashioned TLC. Leza listened to my personal "hair habits", gave me a suggestion and when I said that wasn't quite what I was looking for came up with another suggestion. A+ right there! She is knowledgeable and I felt heard! Which is important to me since I'm the one that has to sport the "new do" and know what I'm capable (or incapable) of. She made some product recommendations without being pushy and when I asked for something in place of another product (because let's face it, with a one year old, if I can't do it in the shower, it doesn't get done/happen), she knew what I needed. 100% coming back. read more

Very disappointed in the quality of my haircut with Bona. She left me with a hole in my hair (see picture) and did not apologize when I went back to see if someone else can fix it. I appreciate management working with me to rectify the situation which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one, but unfortunately this can only be fixed by letting my hair grow out. read more

I made an appt and yes they are very welcoming and nice .. but they are super expensive for the low quality of service they provide . The hair tech seemed like she just got out of school .. her hands shook the minute she picked up the scissors. She left wax in my hair and my nails looked like they were painted by my 2 year old. FOR THE LADYS WHO AREN'T TRYING TO WASTE THEIR MONEY!!!!!!! I was super excited to finally get my hair done. My hair isn't horrible but it's not the best. The biggest problem I had was pricing. I completely understand getting your hair done is expensive and over the phone they can't give you an exact estimate. I called the salon and the receptionist answered she was nice and I expressed to her I wanted a balayage and a hair cut. I was told both together would be around 179... even with that being said I still expected atleast 250 to 280. I paid 345!!!! Without a tip. 2nd biggest thing was we didn't really talk about pricing she said she was changing me from a balayage to a highlight and it should be CHEAPER THAN THE BALAYAGE!! Clearly not. Something I feel like I should add in. Is that if you are getting highlights it will be 100$ and every cup after that is 25$. I have very short hair and she used 4 bowls of bleach on me. She went darker with my toner which completely changed the look of my hair. She did 4 bowls of bleach and my hair has a red tint to it.... even said " look how light we got you" Overall super frustrating. Asked to talk to owner never got too and then the artist told me she wasn't sure were the conversation about pricing got lost. Like we talked about !!! It got perks...it makes you feel like a million bucks, after you have spent that much money, you ought to feel something right!!! I was just there for a mani, and pedi, was a new client so it cost me like $45, otherwise it was like $75, I think that's a little too much. They don't have good people for nails, they don't know how to put on acrylics, they can't do any airbursh, they dont scrub the heals properly when giving a pedicure, nor do they massage your feet. I would give them more stars if I didn't experience getting beautiful nails cheaper, just across the street from them. read more

Very upset. A male tech (sorry, no name) used grinding drill on my non gel toenail polish. Told him twice wasnt gel, didnt need ground off, and that he was hurting me. He continued and ground down to the point my nail bed bled. He tried to push my foot in water, like I wouldnt see. Painful and unnecessary. I had my hair done by Kacie today. It was the 1st time at this salon and she was randomly suggested to me. I haven't had my hair done for years. I lost my husband to suicide and I just didn't feel like I deserved to get my hair done and I also didn't have the energy to go get it done. I walked out feeling so good about myself. I made several appointments over the past few months for my daughter to get her hair cut. More often than not, I would receive a call the day before (or the day of) her appointment, informing me a stylist was unavailable and asking if I would reschedule. I understand things are challenging right now, so I was willing to reschedule. The stylist for her last appointment commented on how poorly done her previous haircut was. I didn't mention it was completed by one of her colleagues. The last straw was the appointment I made for a back-to-school cut/pink highlights for my daughter. I received a call the day of the appointment, informing me the stylist wouldn't be available but that we could come in for a new appointment in a few weeks with the same stylist or several days out (after school began) with a different stylist. I was calm but very honest about my displeasure. I was told the owner of the salon would call me to discuss my experience, which never happened. The haircuts we received from this salon were inconsistent in terms of quality, the scheduling is atrocious, and the customer service from the owner is non-existent. This is a great salon! I have had my hair cut twice by Brittany and couldn't be more pleased! I brought in photos of the style I wanted and she gave me exactly the look I was going for! The haircut was $36 and included a shampoo and blowout which I thought was very reasonable. PROS: Clean salon, very cute decor, super friendly staff and good prices! CONS: Nothing yet! TIPS: I'm not sure how often they do this but the first time I got my hair cut here I was given a referral card. This card was good for a friend to use for $20 off. What a great salon! I am very bummed how long it took me to discover this establishment just around the corner from my home. The salon looks very nice. I stopped in for a pedicure. The area was nicely furnished and seemed quite clean. My work was done by Theresa. She told me that she's a hair stylist, but I was very impressed by the quality of the pedicure she gave me. I am very particular, and she followed my directions perfectly and the results were great. I am excited to have found my new regular spot for pedicures. 1st visits to any shop will rarely get any kind of mention from me (unless they are horrific) because there is a huge learning curve when you go to a new stylist. HOWEVER.. I am absolutely beyond thrillled with my new cut, my total experience and the knowledge and care given by Tori my new stylist! She listens, she is very positive and honest about her opinion on the direction the cut is going. We all know how hard it is to find a stylist that can be on board for your visit, make you feel appreciated and not just a number. I have light brownish hair. Wanted to leave with an overall beach blonde color (achieved easily in the past so I had no idea it would take "multiple times") which is what the stylist told me after things didn't seem to work out. Left 4.5 hours later with pretty much light brown hair that had tiny strands of highlights that were "toned" what looks like beige to me. So overall, still even mousier brownish blonde... oh but with a wallet that was $175. Plus tip (because I'm not rude not for a job well done) lighter when I left. Not a good experience. read more

I've been going to Lucky for almost 3 years now, 2 of which has been with Lea as my stylist. She is an Amazing stylist and colorist. My hair has never been healthier or more beautiful. She always helps me to take an idea of where I want my hair to go (short and edgy) and actually creates something that works with my hair texture and style. She doesn't just recreate whatever picture you bring in, she works with you to make sure that when you walk out you are at your most beautiful. She also does my color, helping me to achieve a look that is beautiful, but also professional enough not to raise eyebrows within my extremely conservative profession. Shmitty does my eyebrows. She helped me to realize how much more beautiful my face looked with slightly more natural brows instead of just waxing the living crap out of them. She never fails to make me smile and is always fun to talk to. She's also done facials on me a couple time and the results are always great. If you want true professionals go here. Expect that you will pay for their expertise, but I have always felt that their prices are very reasonable for what I consider to be the best salon in the area. read more

What a disaster!! My sweet 9 year old wanted to have her hair colored. I attempted a wash in color that would last 4 shampoos at home but knew it probably would not take considering her hair was light to medium brown. So with very little results I agreed to take her to a salon that could really color her hair. I agreed to peekaboo highlights in pink. When she was bleaching her hair everything was amazing. The lady was friendly and told me what products to use on her hair to keep the color longer. She then took her to the washing station, shampooed the bleach out and added the color. I had some reservations about the color going in because it did look kind of dark but, I do not do this for a living and they are the professionals. When she started to blow dry her hair I asked if it would lighten up as I understand that hair looks darker wet. She seemed very put off by my question and my daughter said it kind of looks the same. She then told me we can do something different and then took her back to the shampoo station to put pink on. I told her we wanted it lighter and she just walked away. 25 minutes later she came back and shampooed it out and I was horrified at how dark it was Also there were no peekaboo highlights to us just a red color almost an ombré. I said we wanted it light pink and she replied that we should have just bought hair extension clip ins.. The lady clearly upset with us blow dried her hair and told us to have a good night walking away. She provided no instructions on how to care for her hair and very rudely left my 9 year old in the chair with 1/2 dried hair and her cape thing still on. My daughter was so excited to have this done and left very sad asking if the lady was mad at her. People come to places like this to be pampered and feel special. I took my daughter to feel like a princess not to feel like she had done something wrong. I called the next morning and spoke with the manager. She offered to have her come in and fix the color. She lifted some of the color and after talking to her we decided to do a few more foils to give her a more face framed look and picked a lighter color with more purple (closer to what we were originally thinking). In the end the manager colored her hair and put a purple glaze on it. I still can not see any purple in it. To be truthful I think this is what the original color would have looked like after a few washes. I decided that no matter what it looked like after the rinse I was going to tell my daughter that she looked amazing. Honestly it looks okay..just okay..but the manager was much nicer to my little girl. Unfortunately it did cost me $45 more and I had to take 3 hours off work to get her there the second time. I am chalking this up to lesson learned. We will not be going back. read more

Amazing color by Joanie Barocio. I had all-over color ($55) and partial blonde highlights + toner ($85); $25 color discount for new clients (discounts not combinable). Perhaps the best color job I've ever had, and I've been coloring my hair for 9 years (colorists in San Francisco, LA, GA, and TN). Joanie has a great eye for color, she got my Asian hair to turn the shade of blonde I was seeking, matched the highlights I already had, but managed to improve it. She deciphered my conflicting instructions (I want blonde, but not too blonde...), and she created a beautiful, sun-kissed look that was natural-looking - or as natural as blonde is on an Asian. :) The salon itself is modern and clean. A tad bit pricey, but I am super-satisfied with the quality results. I am so happy I stumbled on this gem. I will return. Tip: Sit in the massage chair while your color processes. Fastest 25 minutes ever. read more
