I have had a YEARS ongoing issue with my trash services in Louisville, KY. I won't post the insanity but 15 months ago it seemed to finally be resolved once my county and state officials connected with RS corporate officials. A year of free service and all seemed smooth sailing. Until the fateful day when I once again attempted to sign up for automatic billing. Omg this was the catalyst for all hell breaking loose years earlier with threats of lawsuits and ugliness that I hadn't know could exist over residential trash. Republic Services cannot seem to Bill me. No one can figure out the glitch but 15 months, 5 separate accounts (opened by week meaning customer service agents), and governmental officials still didn't find the problem. My bank can see RS pulling out $7, $3, $5, $9, and other random increments monthly but they claim my payments bounce despite two credit cards and an account with enough to pay off my home. Lord know why I made the mistake of thinking it would someone work this time. (Spoiler alert: It didn't.) Cue round two of my trash cans being kidnapped and the county government making angry calls on my behalf. Good god I've never been so involved with household refuse. Shonda (and I may have her name incorrect it could be Shondra. I'm 45 and my mind is wearing out fast! ) This sweetie in Phoenix became my knight in a shining 50 gallon bin. She had it resolved by 3:30 on a FRIDAY! I want her to get the recognition she absolutely earned and she was beyond helpful and gracious. read more

Beware. Company tricks you into signing long term 3+ year agreement and in addition to that they add "fuel" fees that they are able to charge you extra whenever they want even though you can't cancel the contract. I called around and almost every other company was 80% to 90% less expensive. We are talking price gouging of over $600 by Republic Services. Over $600 every single month flushed down the drain to Republic Services and they won't let you cancel a 3 year contract without gouging more fees. Shop around before signing a contract. read more

Absolutely the WORST...miss pick ups..THEN THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER 5 ;00....SO NOW my crap has to stay out for a WEEK...hoping they get it then. Get WASTE MANAGEMENT...a little higher but at least they earn their money read more

if I could if zero stars I would. pay for extra pick up but been giving the run around. keep saying they going to come by that day and the next day and the next day and still haven't get pick op yet. it's frustrating because now I have garbage inside my garage and this is the second time this happened to. please do better. i paid for the service but not getting the services i paid for. read more

TERRIBLE. We pay for trash pickup twice a week in the mobile home community we live in and no one showed up last week or today so it has been over a week that our garbage has been sitting in the 110+ weather. We can't fit anything more in our can. We are a 55+ community and Republic doesn't seem to care that many of our residents are unable to keep dragging their full cans back up the driveway when they don't show up. These aren't isolated cases, we have gone without trash pick up many times over the last few years without explanation and without reimbursement for the days they no-showed. One driver was caught sleeping in his truck one day. The company has lied to our management office saying "they were just there!" when asked about why they didn't show up. I have spent hours on the phone as a resident with them trying to just get a reason why this is happening and they won't answer me. I have requested that they contact me if my trash won't be picked up that day or will be delayed by a day so I can let my neighbors know. They have yet to contact me about that but I did start receiving a copy of the bill for the community I live in which is a HUGE mistake. I let them know about it and the person on the phone seemed extremely alarmed by this but I keep getting copied on the bill. Hopefully we're getting a new company to do our trash collection, I don't know what our management company has decided but they are as tired of this as we are. read more

Trying to cancel our service. There appears to be no way to do this. 1. On line dashboard has no way to cancel service 2. Customer Service takes information but has no way to cancel service informs rep has to call you back and will not give contact info to anyone that cancel the service 3. Rep never calls back. Our next dump is scheduled for 06/15/2023 It's the last one I'm paying for. It's ridiculous that there's no way to cancel your service or even reach anyone that can help to cancel your service. Countless time spent on hold. read more

If I could switch to a different company, I would switch in a heartbeat but Republic Services has a contract with our city. They are the only game in town. Why the one-star review? They are unreliable. They have been missing 25%-35% of their pickups. You call them/send emails/leave comments using their App but no one calls back or come to pick up the trash. They are terrible. I wish I could change but I am stuck with a terrible company. read more

If I could give this company zero stars I would. They failed to notify me about my bulk pickup and now want to charge me $$$ to return to get it. Four calls to their customer services over three business days resulted in zero resolution, including a dismissive supervisor. I spoke to my municipal rep about switching to another company....outcome tbd. read more

We set up new service with them and our first pick up day was last Wednesday and they NEVER. picked up our trash!!! I called Thursday and they schedule for another pickup for Friday and AGAIN THEY DID NOT PICK UP OUR TRASH!!! I called Wednesday at 4pm and Friday at 4pm and both times was told they have till 6pm to pickup and they WILL be there! They have yet to service us from day one. I am going to call Waste Management to see if we can get better service there! At this point any service is better then what we have received from them! read more
