Company tricks you into signing long term 3+ year agreement and in addition to that they add "fuel" fees that they are able to charge you extra whenever they want even though you can't cancel the contract. I called around and almost every other company was 80% to 90% less expensive. We are talking price gouging of over $600 by Republic Services. Over $600 every single month flushed down the drain to Republic Services and they won't let you cancel a 3 year contract without gouging more fees. Shop around before signing a contract. read more

We had this company for over 20 years. They did an excellent job picking up our trash... no complaints there. We changed because different pickup days offered by WM work better for us. Cancelling the account is an entirely different story... OMG???? I have over 1.5 hours time invested and our final billing is still incorrect! I closed the account 3 weeks prior to the next due date. My final bill shows me past due and a late fee. It took them 3 weeks to pick up our cans and they charged us $70 to pick them up - wanted us to leave them curbside until they picked them up!!! What neighborhood is okay with that?! So we changed companies, saved $58 per billing quarter and got the pickup days desired. Their total lack of professionalism trying to close the account will cost them far more as everyone asks why we changed and then they get my rant about difficulties closing the account. They are not the cheapest and only show up intermittently. When I call to ask about the missed pick-ups, they do not offer any explanation. They do say they will schedule a pick-up the next day, yet they still do not show up to get the trash. I have called them several times, but today was told they have no record of me calling and thus cannot offer any financial remedy. I'd give them a negative five if it were possible. I had theses fools for about a year. Every month I had to call them. I put my credit card on file for auto billing? You think they could manage that? NO. Always getting dinged for late payment when they have my AMEX card on file? I called the middle of Sept. to straighten out yet another bill they could not seem to charge to my AMEX. I was paid thru end of September, 2018. We pay for two service pick ups a week. For the last four weeks they have been missing days each week. As a customer you have to call them and notify them that they missed a pickup, they will then schedule another one and will state a manager will reach out, neither happen. Then when your lid can't close the whole way, they want to charge you more money or refuse to pick up the trash; they lid is overflowing because they keep missing days. Go with someone else for trash service, this company is a headache on all levels. In response to Republics comments: I don't need your lip service, do what you have been hired to do. Republic garbage service is unreliable, unresponsive and very poor value. They charge to pick up trash twice a week, but in the last four months they have failed to show up at least five times. When you call them, they could care less, they just say they will get it next time. The trash on my whole street has been left over and over again. We are in a rural area of unincorporated Apache Junction. We pay for regular trash pickup twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays. In the last four months, everyone on our street has not had trash picked up on a regular day. I have called the company every time, and either have been promised it would be picked up before the next regular day, or told there were delays due to truck issues or drivers not available, for varying reasons. Every single time I have been told the missed pickup would be collected prior to a regular day, it has not been. Why are we paying for services we are NOT receiving? The lack of concern when I call is astounding. I really want to know why the city of Apache Junction awarded this very poorly run company an exclusive contract for garbage pickup. They certainly have not demonstrated a level of service that merits such a contract. I am disgusted. Pretty sure everyone else on our street is, as well! Well it's the day after the scheduled pick-up and two more phone calls later the 30 yard dumpster is still in my drive way. I've been told that it would be picked up early this morning. Then I was told it would be picked up today at noon my time, well it's 12:36pm and the Dumpster is still in my yard. Just moved here and tried three times over the phone to get service. Went shopping at Safeway in Fountain Hills and saw cans next door at a vacant house that is for sale. I have never officially been a customer but yet I've had to call them multiple times because they keep charging me and sending me invoices. I tried to hire them and they took over 10 days to drop off my bin so I went another direction because I couldn't go without trash for that long. I called to cancel but then 10 days later the bin is dropped off. I had to call them immediately to tell them to pick it up. They then said they'd charge me $50 to pick up (even though I told them it took too long). They agreed to credit me back $50. Two months later, receive a bill in the mail - call them again - tell them I was never a customer. After about 45 minutes on the phone and on hold, the representative said she'd credit me back (again). Fast forward a week and now receiving robocalls telling me my account is overdue and threatening my credit report. Call AGAIN - another long wait - tell my story AGAIN, they check and said that there was still a balance. Supposedly they have credited it back AGAIN. We'll see in a month. Im just gonna get to the point. Bad enough we have been skipped a few times for our regular trash pickup (Even when we call and they say someone will be back, they never show), as well as on an end street house with the trash can always visible. Yesterday as I pulled into my driveway, a man in a giant rental truck took my trash can, saw me then jumped in the truck and drove off. At first I thought my trash was stolen, Se we called Republic Services. That is where they advised that it was reported that we have 2 trash cans and we are only paying for one. That would be no problem if it was true, Its FALSE. After speaking with the customer service rep , it turned out that our neighbor across from us had the 2 trash cans, not us. The told me it was 100 percent Republic services fault. I asked if they can give us our trash can back. Apparently they will not send it any earlier than Thursday (This happened Monday) And any trash i have i need to pay the fees and take it to the dump because they also will not be picking up trash again for a a week. I asked again since it was their fault and whoever was sent out did not correctly read the address or know what 2 trash cans together look like compared to one. I was again told sorry nothing we can do. Very upsetting that they made the mistake and we are the ones paying for it. All while still being charged for the service. read more

My bills creep up every quarter. My recycle has been picked up as trash despite being color coded, or not picked up at all. My cans are often left laying in the road, or blocking my driveway. They stated there was no charge for delivery of an extra can, then argued the fee was 3rd party and non-negotiable. They refuse to cancel service for a month, plus a $30 fee per each of my 3 cans to cancel service. It's more $$ to get out of service than a quarterly bill. Worth it though, as competitors charge about 40% less. I'm not dodging their cans on my way home, either. Trashy! read more

Worst trash company ever. They knock over cans during pick ups & leave the trash where it falls. Doesn't matter to them if they leave broken glass all over driveways where children live & play. If I was allowed to chose zero stars I would. They removed my containers because an employee who should have just changed my name on the account deleted my account then it took them over a week to return containers. Here I am almost 2 weeks later, finally got my cans back, was supposed to have two separate courtesy pick ups that never happened and multiple supervisors were supposed to call me back to follow up and never do. Their customer service is terrible and if you have another choice I suggest you go with the other choice. These people are very rude, they play the blame game and don't say what they are going to say. This company is full of a bunch of liars and just train their employees to be the same way. I've written multiple reviews on the BBB and have received nothing back. I have spent multiple hours on the phone with this company and nothing got resolved. Wow, where to start, My mother used this company when she lived in Sun Lakes, service was cancelled on 6-14-17, and containers were picked up the first week of July. She passed in late July but the company still withdrew her bill amount in August. I have made 6 phone calls and been told the refund plus her deposit was "on the way". I have spoken to 2 supervisors who said the same. Someone (Myra) called and left a message on my phone on September 19 and said I should have the refund by that Thursday, and left her number to call if I had any questions...I called twice and left my name and number but she NEVER called me back!!!Incredible that when they know a refund is due, they can't just send it. So, it is now October, it has been more that 6 weeks and still nothing. Yesterday spoke with customer service and same story. She said they would call, they haven't.
