I would rate less but cannot leave a review if at least one star is selected. We've had our waste not picked up now three separate scheduled pick ups within 2 months. When called they do not offer any excuse other than to say "well, we'll be there soon". Awfully rude management as well. Update 2/18/20 from less than 1 to 2 : I was contacted by corporate fairly quickly and to their credit they quickly contacted the operations manager local to me who then promptly contacted me and tried his best to make things right. insane price hikes. no notice of any price hikes. $60 fee to cancel services. Rotten scummy company. feels like I'm dealing with spectrum internet but worse. They locked me in and then never stopped jacking up the price month after month and when I wanted out they said "guess what, we have a fee for that". How does it cost $60 to come get a trash can that I already paid them to come get on the same day that I already paid them to come get it. At the end I'm ashamed to say I was paying over $200 for 3 months of service. I am embarrassed I stuck around for as long as I did. Wasted so much money. read more

Arranged for trash and recycling bins to be dropped off at the beginning of March. It's now the end of March and I still do not have the recycling bin. When I called weeks ago, I was told it would be dropped off the next Wednesday. Well, it wasn't. Now I'm told that it won't be delivered until April 1st and I'm hesitant to believe that it actually will. When I called to make sure I wasn't going to be charged for said recycling bin for the month of March since I don't have it, I was not given a straight answer. I currently have boxes taking up a good portion of my living room and I can't finish arranging my furniture after the move because I can't put my boxes in recycling. By far the WORST customer service EVER. No one and I mean no one will answer ANY phone number listed. I have even gone to a local Republic office and tried to get help. They said you have to call the service number that NO ONE ANSWERS and stood there and told me they don't have any other phone number for contacts. I told them I would give you a $100 dollars if you could contact them in a half hour using the customer service number. How can a company stay in any kind of business when no contacts numbers that work and lie to you when see them face to face. read more

Terrible customer service. Republic was mentioned as trash provider at my new home. I have been trying to set up services most of the morning, and I am now abandoning the effort. I called, I was put in the queue to wait for rep, after extended wait was given option of call back (I chose that option), when the call back came, I was placed back in the queue for another extended hold period. It was the first trash company I had to pay for and the worst. They have outrageous rates compared to their competitors. Their staff is highly rude, and make you hold on to the phone for 30 minutes plus each time. They miss pickups and then charge you for their errors. They monopolized my area and were the only ones offering services, so everyone around me was screwed. Now competitors are coming in, this company will get left in the dirt. read more

This company charges 3 times more than other companies in our area. When I switched to a different company they charged me $114 to pick up their containers!!!! They are a dishonest company that pays no attention to customer feed back or customer dissatisfaction. Will never use or recommend this company again. read more

Unreliable! We have had their service for 3+ years now and they consistently picked up our trash around 2-3pm. Then one day they didn't pick up so I called and the lady told me they came to pick it up at 6am and our bin wasn't out. Of course it wasn't when we always had time to put it out in the morning for YEARS! No notice or anything that this was changing, and another republic truck drives RIGHT by our house at 2pm but wouldn't collect our trash on that day. For as outrageous as the price is for this company they could accommodate people more! The price goes up significantly every year and I have to call and get it lowered. Such a hassle!! read more

Con artists. Used them for years and the bill kept going up. Check other services and found out they were charging more than three times the rate of everyone else. Called to cancel and they are charging me for the rest of the month and charging me $30 for them to pick up their own trash can. Good luck getting that money. Have missed picking up our trash on the last three regularly scheduled pickups. They also failed to pick up on two commitments after we called to report. We pay our bills on time and do not understand why they cannot pick up on time. Every time we call, and hold for 20+ minutes we are told that there aren't any notes in the system that would suggest a problem from the driver. I cannot understand the problem other than pure inept workmanship. I'm typing this now while I wait to speak with someone but I really think the outcome will be terminating this source. read more

Republic Services have a terrible reputation upon people in Grand Haven. I personally have had to call multiple times because of missed pick ups and having trash or yard waste that were in the bins left out on the curb when everything was taken. When I do end up calling customer service to schedule a pick up for the missed items, the customer service representatives don't seem to care that this is an inconvenience. If I was to do it over and look for a trash company again it will not be republic. 25+ minute wait times on the phone with customer service on top of leaving trash or yard waste on the curb after pick ups is unacceptable for any company. I'm paying for a service to have my trash taken and that is barely being done without a lot of pushing every week I'm not a happy customer at all! read more
