Can we give ZERO stars? The absolute WORST company we have ever had the displeasure of hiring. They don't show up, don't know what's going on when you call, can't tell you your bill amounts, don't have supervisors call back. Our trash was not picked up yet again yesterday and am now 7 calls into them trying to schedule the missed pickup. It's an absolute nightmare circle jerk with this company so do yourself a favor and switch to Nauset Disposal as we did. read more

Filing a complaint with the AG's office AND BBB. I cancelled this service October 1 because they kept having price increases. I used a shared container so it didn't need to be removed. They continued to bill me for 6 months and 9 phone calls later, where they know I cancelled the service but for some reason can't stop billing me, they have now turned me in to a collection agency. read more

This company is the absolute worst company ever several times in the past few months I put my trash or recycling barrels out and they don't show up I call and talk to them to find out why my trash has been at the curb since 8am and at 5 o'clock it's still there I get the run around no answer to a simple question and well there's no truck that can come out I'm having a party Sunday and my yard looks like a dump with 6 weeks worth of recyclables unacceptable do yourself a favor and go with anyone other than these fools read more

I've tried to be patient with Republic Services for seasonal Cape Cod trash and recycling for a half-dozen years. Each year it takes WEEKS after scheduled start to begin pickups, they bill for months AFTER the services is halted. Recycling barrels never show up. Special pick-ups are scheduled but are no-shows. I spend more time calling them than it would take to simply drive my own trash to the transfer station, and neither is what I want to be doing on my vacation. Clearly their scheduling and customer-interface system is completely disattached from actual retrieval system. An awful company. read more

Run for the hills!! Twenty years in business and I have never dealt with a worse company. The sales rep "Sam" told me to get competitive quotes if I was unhappy with the price increases. We switched to Nauset in June, and they dragged their feet until July 1st to pick up the containers. Then they continue to bill me July, August, Sept, Oct. Now they're turning us over to a collection agency! We've called the company a dozen times and they say the sales rep didn't close the account correctly. WHAT? That's their internal problem with a terrible employee. Obviously the company took away the cans..there is not a single day of service in the last 4 months..but the sales rep who refuses to answer the phone, or has been fired didn't do his paperwork, so we owe them? Needless to say, we 're hiring an attorney and filing with Massachusetts AG office. read more

Republic picks up the trash and recycling from our summer home, which we rent out for several weeks. They didn't pick up the recycling 4 (FOUR!!!) times this summer, though that's part of our service contract, and we paid for it. When we called to complain, they said they did come (they didn't) and couldn't send someone out to get it as a one-time pickup. Our house sleeps 16 people, so a week of recycling is a LOT of trash. Since we're not local, we've had to pay someone to pick it up in the car (yuck!) -- messy, inconvenient and expensive. We've asked for the manager to either fix this, pick it up or refund us -- they've refused all. We're going to switch to Nauset Disposal next year (note they have 4 stars on Yelp!) but don't make the same mistake we did! read more

This company is horrible. I would give zero stars! We have had several missed pick ups and yet they charge us for the service. We called for an explanation we never get an answer and they say that someone will be there to get the trash yet they never do. Look elsewhere for these services! read more

Don't use these people. Lie lie lie. Salesman promised one thing but when you get the bill all sorts of other charges that weren't disclosed. I was told no monthly rental fee just pay per dump another lie. I was told no contract needed another lie pressured into one or higher fees added on. They're a big company but corporate in Kentucky sucks and makes the rules impossible to deal with. Don't use them stay with someone local like Carvosa keep it local. Hard lesson learned. read more

Update CANCELLED service yesterday. Told them to take back toters. Customer service says no problem. Today pick up day. Did not take toters and left half the trash in one toter as usual. To lazy to check and see if all trash is out of the toter. read more

I would give them a 0 if I could. They miss our trash pick up and so I have spent over 4 hours trying to get them to come get the trash that they missed on Saturday. Hours on the phone, no one calls back. It's terrible. read more

Just received an invoice from Republic for $43.76 despite discontinuing the service at the end of January. I had paid through the end of January - despite garbage not being picked up 2 previous weeks. I was just told that this charge was for pick up of the Toter. Despite being with the company (starting with BFI) for 15 years, I was never ever charged for pick up of the Toters. And they threatened collection action with supposed written requests being sent prior. This was my first correspondence from them in months. They are truly a horrible company and the customer service is nearly as good as it once was. I am so glad I switched to Nauset. Do not use this company. And oh.. BTW.. wait time was close to 30 minutes. And you can't speak to a local rep any more. Horrible. read more
