The woman who runs Res-Q-Ranch is a saint. She spends all her time giving to others. She cares so deeply about these horses. I give all my donations to the ranch so they can earn money to care for the animals. My other friends do this as well. I have been there a number of times over the past few years and never have I seen an animal mistreated. The amount of merchandise is unbelievable!! You can find everything there. This ranch is for the purpose of rescuing and rehoming horses. I got a free 18 yr. old horse from the owner. She knew nothing about this mare except that she said she had never been ridden. (Which I don't think is true because Isaddled her with absolutely no problem, although I have not had time to try riding her.) I wanted her as a companion for my horse. Since I am older, I asked if I can no longer take care of her can you take her back. She said yes she would. She asked me very few questions in regard to what type of home this horse was going to, which I thought was strange since you would think she would want the best for this horse that had been rescued. After only 3 months of having this horse my back had become so bad I called the owner and left a message asking if she would take the horse back.I had to leave a 2nd message and still no response. She never returned my calls. I have to say, if she is rescuing horses, it sure does not seem she is that concerned what type of home they go to. I sure am doubtful about that operation. She didn't even give me a bill of sale with the horse. Not professional at all. She did call me back a couple weeks later and said she couldn't take the horse back at that time. That I should try to rehome her myself. I am much more concerned about the home she goes to and am interviewing anyone interested in her. I will continue to keep her, find out if she really is or isn't trained before I will just give her to the first person who says they want a free horse. Even though my back is in pain. read more
