I've been to dozens of "old fashioned" candy shops around the country that are either really cheesy or just are so overpriced you won't want to buy anything. This candy shop has really nice variety of old fashioned US brands, current novelty ones that kids like, and quality imports. Prices on candy are very fair. They have a good selection of regional sodas that are pretty $$$ individually but you buy in sets of 6 it's more reasonable. Also the staff is INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful.

Still I thought it was worth going in. Carey called the manufacturer and got a response back to me the same day. I hadn't shopped at Nilsen much because we typically need items more like the lumber yard stocks (lumber, sheetrock, etc). But after looking around and realizing Nilsen has basic cleaning products, boots, socks, Yeti products and even cute home decor I will definitely be giving them more of my business! Shop local!
